I don't easily give 5 starts unless the place is really worth it, and this brewery pretty much has it all. While visiting Sarasota to hangout with friends for my wife's birthday, I was on the mission to try some of the best local beer and that is how I ended up here. First of all, the decor on this place is amazing, from the old wood 8 feet tall doors, to the crazy stickers characters on the tanks. The place is small on the inside, but they have a great outdoor area with picnic tables and a bunch of different games such as gigantic Jenga, and corn hole, but lets talk turkey. Their beers (I had some of Jdubs stuff before and I was never impressed with their can line) but I still decided to try every single one of their beers on tap. My favorites: Pineapple habanero, holy smokes... Yes spice with a little bit of sourness from the pineapple make this beer one of my favorite from these guys. Great Scot was the second one, english scotch red ale, with notes of toasty malts and a little bit boozy, just the way I like my scotch ale's. But the winner was their latest released beer... American Wild, this is a beer that they aged in George Dickel barrels for 8 months with notes of brett and cherries, what a treat this beer was! Im really sad about this one cause while I was there I found out they released bottles that day at noon, and I didn't know about it. I would've love to get my hands on some of these babies, unfortunately they were all gone by the time I got there, I remember the bar tender mentioned bottles last about 45 minutes but considering of the quality of this amazing brew I'm not surprised at all. Service was amazing, wife and friends were a little bit hungry so bartender(I think his name was Karl) help us out ordering some bites from a neighbor restaurant. Overall this place is really cool, with really good quality suds. Please if you are in the are so your self a favor and stop by Jdubs and have a cold one for me.

After the soap reveal....they have ginger mint beer soap! Beers are good too...always 3 or 4 something new in the rotation.

Order the black beauty. Oh, and everything else on their beer menu. My boyfriend and I were in Tampa and decided to scope out breweries on the way home to Miami. Thank Rama and Zeus of the heavens that we found this place in Sarasota. I can't stop raving; from the life sized images of Jules from Pulp Fiction (favorite movie) to the quote by Jack Burton (Big Trouble in Little China) for a beer name, this place did not disappoint. The crowd was a nice mix of seasoned gentlemen in polo shirts watching golf and most-likely-to-ride-a-harley types watching women's MMA. For the rest of us, Fast and Furious was playing on the big screen, because who doesn't love F&F 1-7? We sampled a few flights (thank you for having them available) and I noticed they do beer and cheese pairings, which I would drive 3 hours for because these beers have wonderful pairing qualities. We stopped into a few breweries and bars that sold local brews on tap, and this was our favorite stop. Also, the guy behind the bar (I'm sorry I didn't catch his name but he was there on a Sunday evening-Mother's day, to be exact) was extremely nice, which was much appreciated as we had come from another brewery where they had more of the too-cool-for-you attitude. The beers here were very original and memorable. JDub's, I would move to Sarasota for you.

We went in late on New Year's Day and we were the only customers, which is ok by me. The place is in an industrial area but close to downtown. It's painted really cool with murals everywhere. The backyard is a nice touch too. The beers were okay IMO. Nothing really stood out as super special, but I'm sure some people would like their brews more than I (I like weird flavors and fusions). Cool solid pub. Oh they also have lots of board games and a huge projection screen!

Awesome beer and nice tap room. Everyone is wicked friendly and I managed to come back within a few days of first discovering this place. I highly recommend checking this place out

Been coming to Sarasota 1-2x/year forever, on my most recent trip we stumbled upon JDubs when looking for a local brewery and were not disappointed. It's a little off the beaten path but well worth the trip; we stopped in for a flight or two before heading to dinner at Darwins. I worked my way through the board so I was thankful for the small tasting glasses; my favorite being the coffee milk stout aka Colombian Mouth Candy but all of them were good. Friendly employees, one of whom bought us a round; and very reasonable prices. Great space to relax indoors or out. Will definitely be back next time we're in town.

Enjoyed our first visit! I had a beer flight and each of the 5 was very good. Great way to spend an hour or two. Space/seating outdoors is slightly limited, although there are some fun outdoor activities like life-size Connect Four and Jenga. The interior is cozy, with a few bar seats and some large high top tables.

This place has the coolest front door ever. Definitely a newer brewery not a ton of options on tap but definitely good beer. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and would love to go back.

Being from Tampa Bay, a lot of our breweries are either hole in the wall establishments or you're drinking right out of the garage of the brewing facility, so JDub's made me feel right at home. The beer selection is a little small, as is the tasting room itself, but everything I tried was pretty solid. It's definitely a place for the people that prefer hoppier beers, but they had some good alternatives like a sour and wonderful bock collab with Terrapin I thoroughly enjoyed. If you want to escape the mild claustrophobia of the tasting room there is a nice outdoor seating area with both covered and open benches. The ambiance of the brewery is great as other reviewers have mentioned. I really appreciate the sense of humor the place has with its murals and decorations and the prices were great. It may not be the kind of place you spend the whole night at, but it's still somewhere I would visit frequently if I lived in the area.

Their beer is good and the atmosphere is pretty awesome. When we moved here from Austin in January we thought we wouldn't find any breweries to compare with some of the beer vibe but JDub's has definitely proven our fear wrong. With a cozy bar inside, a great patio and some pretty good beer it didn't disappoint.

It's almost a tradition of mine to go searching for new breweries in a town I'm visiting. I was in Sarasota with my girlfriend for her birthday and looked up JDub's and saw they had pretty good reviews on Yelp. Deciding to check them out, we headed out for the brewery. We show up and the guys there were super nice and accommodating. We tried a few beers and they were all pretty tasty! We'll definitely be coming back when we visit the area again. Thanks JDub's!

Awesome beer, great people, chill environment. If you have a passion for local, good, and genuine, then this is the place for you!

fun place, the decor is highly entertaining, and i played sock 'em robots with a woman i've never met (no one in her party would play). the beer was fine. i've been to a lot of little brewery places over the years, and this one is typical of the breed. Well placed for after baseball

Cool location. Likable, knowledgeable staff. Being beer hounds, we were a bit disappointed that the beer selections were quite "safe" and that there was no food! Great location & ambiance.

Checked out J'Dubs for the first time today. Everyone there was so nice! Honestly the nicest staff I've encountered at a brewery. The beers were great too! Had a raspberry wheat beer that I would definitely get again. The beer, atmosphere, and people, made this place a lovely experience.

I'm a beer gal. I'm also a local biz supporter. Add amazing to both of those and you have J Dubs. The beer is great (and other than the 1-3 regular stand-bys on the board, always changing), the Tap Room's ambience is fantastic. There's a great back porch and yard with frisbee golf and cornhole and.. did I mention - it's all pooch friendly. The staff is lovely and the locals as well. You might even forget you're in the bowels of Sarasota after sipping on one of their delicious elixirs. If you're hungry, there is a different food truck in the parking lot Thurs-Sat evenings. And yes, they're all good. Definitely stop in if you're in the area. Make it part of your road trip if you're passing through. Promise you won't regret it.

It has been a long time coming since originally hearing about JDubs. After being opened for several weeks now I feel like they have come into their own. Im accustomed to having to drive north of the skyway to get a good beer but now I have something close to home finallly. The formula is a classic one at that... Great beer + variety + comfortable atmosphere = winning combination. Nothing over the top or plush. Yoou are still at a craft brew pub and there for one thing, great beer! With a location just several blocks away from Ed Smith this has been my go-to for beer to be paired with baseball.

Two beers in and I will proclaim JDubbs is another excellent addition to the Florida Craft Brewry. The wifey got their chocolate stout, which is damn near chocolate milk and I had the amber ale. Both are outstanding!

Loved the beers! Spent a fun afternoon there! Cool vibe too!

Tasty beer and friendly staff. Many TVs for those wanting some sports. I had the Son of Yam and raspberry wheat, both were delicious! There were a couple of adorable pups hanging out with customers. There's even a cute outdoor area with games. It was a bit too hot today but I will return again to enjoy.

My favorite pub in town and one of my favorite breweries EVER. Top notch beer, just such good quality. The staff are awesome too!

My husband is an avid beer hunter when we're traveling, he said to tell any micro brew lover(Put this on on the list)

Great place near downtown. Tasting room always has new brews made by Tommy the brewer. For all you IPA fans, do an UpTop! 4% to 10.6% ABV. The best.
