The donuts are amazing. The coffee is amazing. If you have kids that are K thru 5th grade -- they get a FREE donut for reading a book. If you're staying on Sanibel make this a frequent stop.

Donuts were great! Definitely homemade. We tried strawberry, original, cinnamon sugar, strawberry, chocolate with sprinkles, and key lime. They were light and delicious.
(4)Suzette F.
Enjoyed this place very much. They have just a few breakfast options - one ran out by 9:45 on a weekday - but everything we ate was delicious. Service was friendly, accommodating and quick. Coffee was really good. And the donuts - well spectacular. Try the orange crunch!
(4)Katelin B.
Incredible donuts and best coffee I've ever had! There's really morning else to say! Just go:)
(5)Jose M.
I came here mostly for a fresh latte and a maple bacon donut but what I received was a latte made from burned espresso beans and the baristas didn't even hold the foam until the end. The flavor had nothing to do biscoff just burnt flavoring. The maple donut was good I can't discredit that. I would only recommend the donut but really nothing else at all.

My new favorite breakfast spot.. awesome coffee, and the breakfast stratas are absolutely the best...great atmosphere and very clean..pricing is very fair...

It's New Year's day, and all around the world people are signing up for gym memberships and swearing to drink less coffee. Here I am, 4 months pregnant and jonesin' for a delicious homemade doughnut (or three). So I decided to start this new year off right with a trip to try the greatly heralded homemade doughnuts of Bennett's Fresh Roast. Speaking strictly doughnuts here, I gotta say-- I was pretty disappointed. But not so disappointed that I couldn't wolf down two doughnuts in five minutes. (Hey, we took a four mile walk to get the darned things and I was more than a little hangry!) Just at a glance, I could see the doughnuts were a bit on the flat side and had soaked the box with grease. Each bite of the doughnut caused the whole thing to deflate a bit and ooze oil. When I read reviews describing these doughnuts as light and fluffy, I was quite frankly very confused. Are we talking about the same place? I wish I could go back in time and not eat those oily doughnuts in my famished post-walk haze, and I certainly wished I could get my $17 back that I spent to buy one dozen doughnuts for my whole family. I've been visiting Sanibel just about every year of my life, and have happily enjoyed the doughnuts from the bakery just down the road at Jerry's Grocery Store. If you are looking for more interesting flavor combinations, I will say-- Bennett's has them! But if you just want tried and true delicious doughnuts in the good ol' fashioned flavors you've always enjoyed, skip Bennett's and get your doughnuts elsewhere. I will still probably head back to Bennett's to try out their breakfast and coffee, but let's just say that this doughnut connoisseur won't be back for any of their oily baked goods.

Yummy.. Small area but food makes up for it . No croissants for breakfast was a real bummer .
(4)Michelle D.
Stopped here unexpectedly today lunch and what a pleasant surprise! I had the sandwich of the day a Roast Beef and Provolone panini with a side of au jus. It was delicious and tender, roast beef slow cooked on site. Others in my party had the chicken salad on croissant. The space is bright and open and offers free wifi. Jessica, our waitress was friendly and checked in on us a few times. We ended the meal with one if the famous Orange Crunch donuts. Definitely worth checking this place out. I know I'll be back!
(5)Kelly T.
Very very good fresh doughnuts! Friendly staff. Excellent bottomless coffee with flavored creamers. Will be back during our stay in Sanibel!
(5)Paul T.
The coffee and food are great. I must sat the service is unfortunately lacking on Saturday morning. I got here at 9 am and was fortunate enough to get a table outside. Unfortunately its now 9:30am and and one has come outside. I walked here with a baby in a stroller and my time is very limited. I hope to get served this morning before my baby wakes up. Not sure why no one has been out here yet. Its Saturday morning people. Have some staff working your patio!!!!
(2)Domenic J. L.
Great find. Drove up in wet shorts after a sunrise shelling session. Super friendly staff. Clean. Books to read. Kids get a free donut for every book read. Had a wonderful, fresh cakey key lime donut and a great cappuccino - got mine with soy milk. I wanted to try the strata, but couldn't justify it with the donuts. We'll be back if we're ever visiting the island again.
(5)Lisa S.
After reading reviews- and looking at the high prices, I expected much more. I ordered a caramel macchiato- my 12 oz cup was only half-filled. They used an artificial sweetener- although not advertised as such. The drink was so terrible and bitter tasting that I couldn't drink it. A waste of $5. It's Saturday mid-morning, long lines, and only one register opened. The girl at the register was very friendly though. Only positive thing was that they serve Norman Love Gelato- but even that was almost $5 for the smallest cup. I will not be returning. Save your money and go down the road to Sanibel Bean- their coffee is fantastic.

Stopped here for breakfast after all the other sit down places had over an hour wait. Awesome choice! The iced coffee was a 4/5, the oatmeal was a 5/5 and the donuts were amazing and I can't even give it a number! We had the Orange coconut donut. It was not too sweet and so fresh! Would come here again. Looks like you have to get there early to get lots of donut choices. There were about 10 kinds left but they had so many empty trays, there were probably 40 choices earlier!
(5)Seth F.
Stopped on the way to Sanibel island. Coffee and donuts were great. Egg sandwich was average at best. Would definitely stop for coffee and donut but not sandwich!
(4)Meagan W.
This place is a gem! I'm a huge fan of local coffee shops anywhere I visit and this was by far my best experience! The iced coffee was out of this world, it's a blend of three different brews and its perfect! I actually didn't have to add cream- which says a lot. Their donuts were subpar but the staff was fantastic and knowledgable about all their products. I'm definitely going back for more coffee today.
(5)J S.
This place is good but it's very corporate. That's not bad but I was expecting local and kitschy. The coffee was good and so were the donuts. But if I was going for corporate, I'd rather have Dunkin Donuts.
(3)Kristin S.
The coffee was ok but the experience was awful. None of the employees were friendly. They didn't even acknowledge our order, just made it. And the hot chocolate was out of a powder package! Definitely not going back.
(1)Patrick P.
Stopped in for a quick breakfast. We sat down rather than going through the carry out line. Table service was slow. I had the breakfast strata which was tasty and warm, but could have been warmer. My friend had the breakfast sandwich which was cold, and the table next to us ended up with cold sandwiches too. The donut was very greasy, more than a Krispy Kreme donut. We thought the coffee we ordered (Colombian bold) tasted over-roasted.
(2)E G.
Quickly becoming a morning staple during our visit to Sanibel. The iced coffee is delicious and the donuts are light and fluffy. They come in lots of fun flavors like key lime and maple bacon.
(4)Eileen H.
Very fresh and open atmosphere. It was very clean, as well (I'm not usually picky, but it struck me how clean it was). The kind of coffee shop I'd like to hang out in if I lived on Sanibel. The clientele seemed nice and calm, and there was soft jazz playing (actually a selling point for me, at least). Lots of doughnuts, especially maple bacon! They were just as good as I expected. The only downside was the slightly weak latte, but it was still the best coffee I got my whole trip. If I hadn't been heading for the beach I probably would have stuck around. We stopped in for the lobster sandwich. It was tasty, fresh and good quality. Wasn't a big fan of the celery in it, but I could still enjoy the sandwich with it. I had a glazed donut since this place is supposed to be known for their handmade donuts and I was not pleased. It was hard to chew. It reminded me of the texture of bread after being microwaved for too long. The quality of the ingredients and their good customer service is why they get 4 stars.
(4)Rico S.
Marginal breakfast , breakfast sandwich was Luke warm and reheated. The only good thing was it opens at 6:00 am.
(2)Joseph R.
Went into the Sanibel location at 1pm on Tuesday due to reviews etc. Upon entering the store it smelled strongly of coffee and old oil. Purchased 6 donuts to share between the wife and myself, spent $11.50. Tried the almond raspberry and couldnt get more than a bite down. It had a sweet start from the topping followed by a oily greasy taste that filled the mouth. Took the Key Lime out of the bag and tred a bite of that and same problem. Looking closer the oil jad soaked thru the wrappers on the donuts and saturated the bottom of the bags, there is now a grease spot in the back seat of the car where we had placed the bag that smells. Throwing the rest away as they are unedible (think really bad fair elephant ear). Very very dissapointed in the quality of the donuts, will not be back.
(1)Kelly B.
We went for lunch. I would suggest stick with the coffee and donuts. We had the Bennett donut dog that was featured in donut showdown, gross!! We also had a roast beef panini and cream of mushroom soup. The sandwich was tasty, not the soup. I finished the experience with a yummy snickers gelato, which they don't make. Service was adequate.
(1)Brian D.
Great new addition to Sanibel, but they've been very popular in Fort Meyers. Great coffee and delicious donuts. Busy in the morning, and right on the bike path. Try the orange crunch or the s'mores donut. All donuts are hand cut and fresh.
(4)Trina R.
Delicious!!!! My family comes to Sanibel every year and I was happy to see this new place!!! Wow, I had the cinnamon twist one and the cinnamon sugar donut. These are the best donuts I've ever had! My fiancé also ordered a cool French press coffee to go. He said it was really good coffee. Anyway, can't wait to go back next year!
(5)Yvette E.
Super delish lobster roll! Had read of such by other Yelpers and went to see fit myself. Check- it was magically delicious. Pepper slaw was a nice contrast!
(5)Susan C.
This is a wonderful addition to Sanibel. It has easy access parking and plenty of space, both inside and out for all. Decor is nondescript but comfortable. Now to the good part, their donuts are out of this world! There are so many varieties to choose from and, I especially, loved the orange coconut one! My husband was also addicted. Their coffee was a bit strong for my tastes but trust me, we'll be back!
(4)Vince H.
This place is usually great, but today was HORRRRRRRIBLE. For some reason they had the people taking orders at the register also making the coffee drinks, so if you had 4 people in your group that meant a long wait for those waiting in line. We waited for almost 20 minutes this morning (Saturday at 10:00am). Maybe the donut girl can make drinks while the cash register people take the orders instead of standing there talking to everyone? They really need to change that format during peakish hours. Love the coffee, but seriously change something during the ordering/creation process.
(3)BJ B.
Best coffee in Sanibel. Had the Orange crunch donut and the cranberry orange muffin. Both were excellent. Will definitely return every time we visit the island!
(5)Nick R.
Great place to get your morning coffee and donuts. After looking at the reviews I thought I would give it a shot. It's very clean and the staff is friendly. The donuts are AMAZING! They have a few unique varieties which were great. Didn't even make it back to my place before eating all but one in a full bag. I also had a black iced coffee which was good. Definitely worth trying it out can't wait to try the other menu items.
(5)Debra H.
Welcome to Sanibel! Wonderful coffee and a great place to get a quick bite! Tasty sandwiches and sinfully good donuts: )
(4)Ryan P.
Welcome to Sanibel! I heard it took a few years in the making....Well Worth it! One of the very first stops on periwinkle way (tucked back off the road) is Bennett's! I read the reviews on how busy and yummy their coffee and donuts were in Fort Myers - Never Made it! Now.... when you just need a little something for breakfast and don't want to fight the lines for a sit-down meal - This is GREAT! We went for breakfast and had the Maple Bacon / Key Lime Donuts that we had read so much about - A TREAT! Looking forward to lunch and more iced coffee through the day!
(5)Mary D.
went here based on Yelp reviews. boy did this one miss the mark. i admit, I'm a coffee snob. The coffee was nothing to write home about. We ordered the blueberry pancake special for $9.99. you get 3 pancakes, each were about the size of a coaster! They were ridiculously small. The blueberries (supposedly from Maine) were little shriveled up canned ones. GROSS. Home fries were barely crunchy. I ordered some egg strata thing. OMG Gross! had some weird cheese melted on the top. Pieces of sausage and soggy potatoes. don't waste your money.
(1)Kim N.
We come to Sanibel between two-three times a year. The island really needed a place to grab a quick coffee. The donuts were a perk. Kiddos loved them. Service was good both times I stopped. Great atmosphere and really clean.
(4)Mike K.
Amazing! All I can say. Donuts were fresh, light (even the filled ones) delicious . Coffee was great too...really good. Highly recommend the maple bacon donut. Will definitely return for more.
(5)Robert G.
Bennett's is mainly known for their donuts and baked goods, but they also offer great soups, salads and sandwiches. This is not a full service restaurant. There are no waiters or waitresses. You stand in line and order and pay at the counter. They close at 3:00 pm everyday. We have been to this new location 3 times since they opened in December and everything has been perfect all 3 times. We love Bennett's.
(5)Joel R.
Just had breakfast here. We arrived at 10:20 only to find that almost all breakfast items were sold out and the kitchen was closed from 10-11 until lunch. I expected more on the menu but everything was pre made. The wait staff was extremely friendly and the owner of the branch came to our table. The restaraunt was sub par but very friendly.
(2)Jeff H.
A unique setting, cafe like. We missed the cutoff for breakfast, but the soup and sandwiches were excellent. Everything was very fresh. Huge and unique donut selection. Large coffee selection. Eat in seating is limited. We took a young family of five. Service was friendly. Highly recommend for a cafe style option.
(5)Aryn L.
Absolutely loved Bennett's! Recently spent a week in Sanibel and after discovering this place on our second morning we proceeded to begin almost every day with coffee and donuts from Bennett's. We tried a number of different donuts, but the top two highlights were the Orange Crunch and the Peanut Butter donuts. Everything was great though, even the simple chocolate sprinkle donut was tasty with the great chocolate they used. In addition to donuts and coffee, we also had freshly squeezed orange juice, which was a great value, and one of their breakfast sandwiches.
(5)Molly S.
Best Salads on the Island are at the donut shop! We've had lunch a few times at Bennett's. The Cobb Salad, the Salad Bowl, and Annie's Salad are all terrific. The iced tea is fresh brewed (of course, the coffee is excellent). Our servers, Jessica and Veronica did a wonderful job. In addition, Frank (owner) checks on customers. This is our new favorite lunch place.
(5)Christina A.
Tried someplace new and it was Not my favorite. The line was pretty long in the morning and they seemed disorganized behind the counter. They have a large selection of donuts and breakfast items but they were a little pricey. The drink menu was limited compared to other coffee shops and there were very few non-coffee options. They wouldn't give me an iced caramel macchiato, only hot. Who wants a hot coffee when it's 80 degrees out?!
(2)Sally R.
Bennett's Roast on Sanibel has become my favorite place! It knocks Starbucks coffee out of the park with its foamy lattes served in china cups - or portable cups. The donuts are mouth-watering tasty, made daily at the facility each morning at 3AM. I've attempted to try most of the donut and muffin varieties, but the yummy Bacon Maple donut is the best seller ($1.75). In the end, the good ol' glazed donut ($1.10) can't be beat anywhere. It truly melts in your mouth! Lunch salads, soups, and sandwiches are memorable (lunch is served only until 2PM). My new favorite is the overly generous Cobb Salad with large chunks of chicken and bacon, fresh greens, with an original, tangy house dressing. Bennett's ambience is clean, trendy, light, spacious and comfortable, with garden dining too. Great and friendly staff. Ample parking. The background music is such a pleasure! It is the result of the owner's superbly cultivated taste in jazz, and particularly female jazz singers. I can't drive past there without stopping - for relaxation, good music, delicious coffee and donut - or lunch! Some people stay a while, working on their tablets. Sadly, it closes at 3:00PM.
(5)Luis N.
This place gets a 4.5 just on variety and uniqueness. I've come here perhaps 3 times and it's definitely a treat for me. I run down McGregor on the weekends and we pass this darn donut shop every Sunday and I have to make it a point to come get one after a run bc they're pretty delicious when fresh. I got 5 donuts the other day for my family and a guest and took it home. They all liked the look of the donuts and size. The donuts don't do well with time I felt so fresh in the store would be the way to go. I had the bacon maple, glazed, cinnamon sugar, almond coconut, and the s'mores one. I think maybe the glazed or the almond coconut were my favorite out of that batch. I dig it.
(4)Deanna F.
Decent donut selection with many unique island flavor such as orange cream. French press coffee to go was a first and very strong and delicious . However it seemed they only made yeast donuts , so no plain cinnamon . Muffins were fresh and tasty and the cranberries in the sweet orange muffin were tart. Egg sandwich lacked everything . The sandwich was on a flat bread toasted something - unappealing and dry . Bacon on the donuts but not on breakfast sandwich . Service was a bit disorganized. We will have to pass this place next time .
(3)Sarah B.
Key lime, peanut butter and maple crunch doughnuts were all delicious. The coffee was very good, and we really appreciated the free refills (in to-go cups too!) and that there was soy milk available. Service was also excellent, an overall good experience. *We went back the following two days just for the great coffee!
(5)Liz C.
We should have gotten the doughnuts. Instead a ordered the yoghurt cup with granola and fruit. Blah. Canned fruit with maraschino cherries. My husband's breakfast sandwich wasn't bad but there were hardly any eggs on the egg sandwich. Coffee was ok. The atmosphere is nice. Like a NY diner. Stick to the doughnuts.
(2)Nick P.
Rode bikes there after visiting the lighthouse. Went in the morning for doughnuts and they were fabulous. Doughnuts will never be the same again. They were sweet and oh so delicious. The price was definitely worth it for the Boston Cream. I also heard that the coconut doughnut was just as good. A must go to place for breakfast!
(5)Jonathon H.
Awesome coffee and donuts. You NEED to check this place out. We have been to both locations - Sanibel and Fort Myers.
(5)Emily S.
We've been vacationing in Sanibel for years, so we were elated when we heard there was a new place to try and a donut shop, nonetheless! Overall, we really enjoyed Bennett's, especially when you read their story to find out they are home-grown in Lee County and not just a chain. The donuts are pretty good. I found that most of them are the traditional glazed with just different icings and toppings. There isn't any different flavor in the dough part of the donut. The sticky buns and cinnamon twists do have more of a pastry texture. All were delicious. Our favorites were the maple bacon, almond coconut and sticky bun. A great (and very clean and roomy, especially for Sanibel) place just to grab a coffee!!
(5)Grant M.
I LOVE donuts. Bennet's Fresh Roast is A-OK. The donuts at Bennet's were very sweet and oily. Here are the donuts I tried: - Almond Coconut // The almond coconut donut was probably my second favorite donut I tried. It was a tad too oily but it was still decent. This donut is topped with almond icing and has coconut shreds sprinkled on top. {3.5 stars} - Plain Glazed // This donut is pretty gross. It is really, really oily. I couldn't even taste the glaze because of how oily it was. {2 stars} - Raspberry Almond // The raspberry almond donut was definitely my favorite donut I tried. This donut kind of looks like a cheese danish. It has almond (?) icing on top and is filled with raspberry jelly. The raspberry jelly and the almond icing balance each other out really well. {4 stars} - Key Lime Pie // This donut was A-OK. It was filled with key lime icing and dusted with graham cracker. The key lime filling was delicious but other than that the donut wasn't anything special. This donut was a bit too oily for me. {3 stars} - Orange Almond Crunch // The orange almond crunch donut was decent. It had orange icing and was topped with almonds. This donut was the only donut that wasn't super oily. {3 stars} I would go back to Bennet's Fresh Roast if I was on Sanibel and was really craving donuts. This is a step up from Dunkin' Donuts but not as good as Krispy Kreme or other local donut shops I've been to.
(3)Caitie K.
As we were walking up, my boyfriend and I saw an employee carrying an elderly man's food to his car. So sweet. There aren't too many things on the breakfast menu, but we ordered breakfast sandwiches on flat bread and they were gorgeous. We grabbed donuts on the way out. Haven't tried them yet, but the owner said he could put his daughter through college on the money he makes from the maple bacon donut alone, so I imagine they're pretty good! Friendly, cute place, can't wait to go back for gelato. Update: the maple bacon donut is so good it should be illegal. Update: we went for breakfast at Bennett's every day we were in Sanibel because we like it so much. The strata is delicious and the employees are great. Keagan (spelling?) is sweet and genuinely excited to be there. One of the owners, Frankie is always helping customers or cleaning up tables. Love this place!
(5)conor b.
Friendly staff let me know that if kids read a book from one of the many they have by the door, they get a free donut. Righteous! Creative donut flavors done right! Awesome coffee and they know how to make coffee! If you are serious about your brew, please stop here! None of that bottom of the barrel Denny's crap like most diners. Even have a French press pot if you're dining in. Donuts are the star of the show however and that's even after I tasted the best americano I've had, ever. Creative lunch menu that'd be interested to try. My daughter says "out of five stars, they get 100 for the donuts alone." Hell, I'd agree. Look, food and place was so nice I ate here twice. Had to come back for lunch to try the Bennett's Dog. Usually I don't go for "novelty food" like this but it just sounded too rad. Best hot dog I've ever had hands down. Bennet's nails it.
(5)Mandy C.
I am not a huge fan of donuts but I LOVE these donuts. So if you like to try unique flavors or just have fresh donuty goodness then this is one to put on your list to try. You must get there early to get the most popular flavors like the peanut butter ones that I am obsessed with. The breakfast sandwiches and souffles are a great choice for those who want more than just carbs for breakfast. The coffee is great and the service can be hit or miss. I agree with other reviewers about the odd setup of the counter. It is not clear where you need to order at. So since you are smart and yelping before you go you will not be confused---just walk in and go to the right then walk to the center register to pay! This place can get ridiculously busy especially during Season, so keep that in mind and if you are not in a hurry it will be worth the wait!
(5)amanda c.
Always good. I got the biscoff latte and a peanut butter donut. My boyfriend had an orange crunch donut and a glazed one. Both are amazing!!! There were no lines / no wait so that was a plus too for a Saturday morning.
(5)Janene H.
These donuts are very good- good sized and with that just so crisp crust and a soft inside. The icing is sweet and pairs perfectly with their coffee. When you dine in you can take advantage of free coffee refills. Kids who read a book during the summer at their little book nook receive a free donut on the spot! They even have donut shaped pillows for the kids- how cute! We dined in on our last morning on the island. We seated ourselves and were served rather quickly. We ordered a selection of "real" food as well as rounds of donuts. They do have a limited number of hot menu offerings like breakfast sandwiches and breakfast casseroles. My sandwich was good but rather small. The flavors were all rich though. I tried the iced cinnamon roll as well as the raspberry filled almond iced donut. Yum! They were both good in different ways. The raspberry may have been my favorite as the filling was ample and it had a nice tang to it. It was delicious with the almond flavored icing. A couple of minor complaints. The music played in the dining room was obnoxious. You'd think they'd have some elegant background music but it was this awful vocal monstrosity. I couldn't imagine trying to read or do work with that playing. Also, they only had two high chairs in the whole place. They were occupied the entire time we were there and other kids were needing them. One of the owners did come by and chatted with us briefly, it was interesting hearing his story of how the business evolved. I would absolutely make this a regular stop when in Sanibel. The only reason they do not earn 5 stars would be because they just do not hold a candle to Donut King in Orlando/Minneola. We hold all donuts to this high standard and both hubby and I agreed, although Bennett's are darn good they are no Donut King! yelp.com/biz/donut-king-…
(4)Camille G.
Pretty great donuts. They're a little on the sweet side, which aids in my self control, because I can only eat one. They have an interesting selection of donut flavors and I definitely recommend stopping by!
(4)Ratchel D.
I will begin by saying this:THEIR DOUGHNUTS DO NOT AGE WELL. After trying their amazing doughnuts, we purchased a dozen and a half, only to throw them out. Thats almost $40 wasted. We had a good experience while visiting this location. Some of our favorites: bacon doughnut, orange doughnut. The breakfast sandwiches and coffee were also good. Service was semi-good, waiter was polite, did get one of our orders wrong and did not remove from bill, so that sort of killed it. After having such good food, we made purchases to take home to our friends. We should have realized that, because there are no preservatives, they do not hold well, but we didn't. We bought on impulse. I do wish we would have been told how to care for them after purchase (refrigerate, eat sooner, etc). I called and was told that they only last 18 hours. :( Enjoy them there, but don't bother to take anything "to-go", is my advice.
(3)James P.
I was here every morning for donuts and coffee. There ya go. Need a bit more in-depth? The donuts here are top notch. They cover a pretty wide range of sweet to savory, with some interesting ones tossed in. Maple toffee, orange coconut, and chocolate peanut butter were my personal top three. The wife loved her raspberry almond donuts I had to bring home for her every morning. And yes you hipsters, they have maple bacon. No cake donuts, though. Good iced coffee, with free refill. It's a light, bright roast with a nice palette-cleansing acidity. Orange juice comes pre-bottled, like Tropicana or whatever. Great customer service as well - I had a bit of a payment snafu and they were totally helpful with it. Within walking/biking distance from most of the resorts, so it makes for a nice morning vacation ritual. Definitely worth a stop here.
(5)William R.
Excellent pastries. We shared a sticky bun, a cinnamon roll, a glazed donut, and bacon donut. We were surprised to find the bacon donut to be very good.
(4)SatahJane E.
What a hidden "gem" plenty of parking!!unlike their Ft Myers location. Donuts freshly baked....great variety----oh so good. The fresh coffee is super and served hot just like I like it. Don't go......I want to keep it a secret
(5)Aly S.
I enjoyed a cup of coffee and a glazed donut on the outside patio. The donut was really good, the glaze was not overly sweet and the donut was chewy. They have unique selections such as maple bacon and almond coconut. They also have a breakfast and lunch menu and place to sit and waiter service inside. I would not pass this place up if you are on the island.
(4)Nathan C.
The donuts are huge. The coffee is really good. They have a small but filling breakfast menu (the Strata is like a cheese and egg brick, but in a good way) Free wifi too!
(4)Dan B.
Read their reviews online and decided we needed to try this place while we were in town. Definitely a must stop for all coffee aficionados!!! Nothing is better than good old fashioned family owned customer service businesses.
(5)Ian T.
Had a late lunch after some time at the beach. Had the Donut Dog which was interesting and tasty but more of a novelty. Gelato, coffee and donuts were top notch and worth a revisit. Tuna on croissant was also quite good.
(5)Mike L.
Great service, great food, fun environment and super friendly staff. Coffee is very good and the donuts are fantastic.
(4)sally s.
My dad was a cop so I know my donuts. They are to die for. Get there early in season for the best selection. Worth the drive and line out the door!!!
(5)Terri N.
The coffee was bad. $5.00 for a small caramel that was just not drinkable, and it was only filled half way. The muffins were super dense and really not good. A HUGE waste of money. And $9.00 for a pancake platter? Really? Very over priced for items that were just no good.
(2)Jamie G.
Second summer in a row we've visited Bennett's and we have yet to be disappointed! Last summer we stopped in a few mornings for delicious donuts but this year we've branched out for donuts AND lunch! We stopped in for some lunch and we got the friendliest service as well! The owner himself took our order and even offered us coffee, iced tea, or gelato while we waited! The food was delicious! We highly enjoyed the Chicken and Donuts (we'll be back for it,) the chicken salad and the caprese panini! Even if you're not that hungry, you should stop in for a snack and a smile! You're definitely going to leave happy!

Love this place! Delicious, strong coffee; yummy oatmeal, and a variety of doughnuts to satisfy anybody's taste (try the orange coconut- seriously). Reasonably priced, and friendly attentive service. Will be back!

My husband and I are not big breakfast eaters but we stopped here early to get quick bite. Coffee was good, breakfast sandwich mediocre and donuts, while definitely homemade and fresh, were way too sweet.

Cute little place. Not much of a breakfast selection, however....the donuts are out of this world. Orange crunch, peanut butter, maple bacon...unreal. The best donuts ever. Coffee was good.

Love the donuts and REALLY love the coffee. Although they have a lot of fun flavors the plain one is probably the best. But if you are going for fun the Orange crunch is SO good!

Nothing but great things to say about Bennett's. The coffee is fantastic, the donuts are very good (especially the almond coconut) and the service very fast. But by far the best menu item is the breakfast strata. Layers of french bread, eggs, cream, and cheese - it's seriously fantastic. Skip the breakfast sandwiches - very forgettable. The strata is where it's at people. 325/365

Great coffee, good people. I went here every morning my husband and I were here for our honeymoon. I just got iced coffee, but the first time I went the owner was there and he explained all the different brews he had for the day. Super friendly staff! One morning I snuck out to get breakfast for my husband and I got two breakfast sandwiches with sausage and an Orange crunch donut. They have SO MANY fun types of donuts--I wanted to try them all. We both really liked our breakfast sandwiches--so good. The donut was pretty good--not life changing like I expected but still good. Yum. I loved all the coffee I got from there. Also it was reasonably priced which is always a bonus!

The Cobb salad is great as is all their food. They've had a great first year and are getting well established.

Donuts & Coffee!! *AMAZING* Donuts: -The donuts taste homemade. Very yummy interesting texture! Maple bacon was delicious; though I really wish they crushed and sprinkled the bacon as oppose to only having 4 square pieces on it. My donut i "manually" broke apart my bacon and scattered it through out the top that way I'd get a piece in every bite(: couldn't finish it since it was SO SWEET! -My fiancé got the chocolate chip donut which he enjoyed very much as well. I didn't try it cause --ick no thank you so I can't say much of it; but he loved my maple bacon. If it helps he thought it sounded gross but he reconsidered because he loves bacon and he loves maple... So if you do too; try it!!(: and if it's not your favorite here always try it somewhere else because in all honestly; I have tried better elsewhere but that was up north. still really great to try it here if it's your first time cause you wouldn't know that difference :D Coffee: I got a cappuccino. Was yummy guy made it sweet for me like I asked then because I'm weird I added one little thing of French vanilla creamer and it was good; diffidently a slap in the face drink meaning it'll wake you up! My fiancé got the Columbia bold. He loved it, kid you not we got in here today (1-31-15) at 1030am and he was drinking it till about 1pm. Talk about making it last!! Also he was ranting and raving about how well the cup throughly insulated the coffee.. Haha. FOOD & SERVICE *Not.. That.. Great* Food: I got a panini; actually the same one that someone posted here on yelp with added bacon. *thank you btw person:)* but honestly, it truly wasn't that great. Everything was good well I guess I just didn't fancy it. I felt like I was eating a sloppy joe-- it was just a hot mess!! Don't take my food review to heart I do feel like many would LOVE THIS sandwich I just--didn't. Just because I don't think the food was 100% doesn't mean you will(: you know how some people just bash on food; I'm not trying to; at least not on this review:D so please try something here to eat!!!(: you might fall in love with something. **Some things that really bothered me: 1. When you walk in you feel lost: You don't know whether to sit or what to do. There isn't like a host or anything... Honestly if it wasn't for it being Saturday and seeing a HUGE line.. Would have asked. 2. Where the line starts: It's like there was no thought put into where the line formation goes. When you walk in you see the tables people sit at and the counter then ALLL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT, is where the line starts and it wraps around into the bathroom... Just -- dumb. 3. Service: -1. Place an order clearly said maple bacon donut and guy totally gives my fiancé his and never have me mine..like.. What got me is that they don't check up on their customers. The service is like DD, it's all about the money... They focus on nothing but people in line and push them out as quickly as possible to get the next person and push them out too. -2. Again, I get that it was a Saturday... But it just baffled me how long we had to stare at the guy who took our order to not only get my donut but to get a water too. I guess what it is; they're not so much of a restaurant as they would be they're much closer to Panera bread style. You get your food - sit - eat - move on. I just don't know how you'd ask or get something if they don't come to you... And you don't want to wait in a huge line for a drink or something small you know? || For example: we sat at the little bar area where people pay... Being that it was my first time in I was very observant; noticing that not once have I seen someone from the back counter check on any other the tables where people were eating.. So all in all my point is... So what do you do if you want a drink? There's NO waiters or waitress... What do you do wait in a huge line? I mean I guess so........Just wasn't expecting that guess it's my fault but if you are too ... Now you know(: -3. A woman came in asking what to do.. (I mean I know how she felt because that's how I felt when I came in too) and the guy sounded very condescend to her and was like you don't sit and wait you go in line and order... Idk it just peeved me how .. Rude he was to her I mean hello!!! She didn't know !! Maybe if the structure of the building made more sense we wouldn't ask dumb questions!! -4. No plates, they use wax paper... Horrible!!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. They should invest on plates even if it's paper. All in all check this place out hope this review helps(: I am super picky maybe your experience here will be much better haha

This place is awesome! It's a small little place. The donuts are great, the freshly roasted coffee is amazing, and the customer service is top notch.

We ate in one morning and got takeout another. The coffee is excellent and the reason we went back. Oatmeal pretty good also, with raisins, brown sugar and/or granola. The donuts are meh -- agree with the other posters who note they are greasy (I'd take a Dunkin Donut over a Bennet's donut), and that the donuts at Bailey's are better than these. Sausage links were fatty and would have benefited from browning. Our server on the morning we ate in was very accomodating though.

Where else can you order a Maple Bacon or Key Lime Doughnut. Awesome laid back vibe like the Keys. Service is slow so be patient!
