**WARNING** Do not eat here! The food is disgusting I used to eat here faithfully but the cook that was cooking no longer does the cooking. He now has his own restaurant. I only ate here this recent time because I got a coupon to eat there. I ordered 2lbs of crab, 1/2 lb of shrimp, corn and potatoes. When I say it tasted horrible like literally the seafood tasted freezer burnt and was very mushy. Everything else has no seasoning it was just horrible. I'm just warning all interested in trying because I wasted $$ on food that was supposed to be worth $50.

OK, location is bad. OK, casual might be an overstatement. OK, it doesn't seem like they have central air. But, man oh man, they have GOT me with those garlic crabs! I stumbled upon this eatery on Restaurant.com where they offer a $25 gift certificate for $10. It's for dine-in only and you've got to spend $45 (after tax so that's nice), but it's a great deal for a low key dinner for four. I was a bit skeptical once we arrived as it is located in a not-very-happening little plaza and the waitress didn't seem very welcoming, but she warmed up to us once the food came out. For four of us, we got the 15 garlic crab dinner with 20 shrimp, potatoes, and corn. The shrimp was mediocre but the potatoes were tender and the corn was good. The crabs, of course, were the star of the show. They came out in a large foil dish swimming in butter and herbs. The top shell is removed and all the odd bits removed for easy access to the meat. The crabs seemed a little on the small to medium size, but boy, were they chalk full of sweet, delicious meat! True, the meal would have been more pleasant in a nicer atmosphere both temperature-wise and aesthetics-wise, but I can still say I'm a fan purely for the quality and taste of their namesake dish.

I took my entire family out to dinner, 7 of us. The first thing the waitress told us was that there was a mandatory 18% tip added to the bill, and she made a point of informing me that her cut was ONLY $3.00 We ordered. Everyone else got their meal & finished eating before my fried shrimp even arrived! I asked for cocktail sauce & they didn't have any! I asked for tartar sauce & they didn't have any! I even asked for horseradish so I could make my own cocktail sauce & they didn't have any! What kind of "seafood" restaurant doesn't have cocktail sauce or tartar sauce?! When my meal finally arrived, the fries were soaked soggy with grease & the breading on the shrimp was tasteless. The shrimp was overcooked & chewy. I informed the waitress that I would not have ordered shrimp had I been informed that they did not have cocktail sauce! I boxed up my disgusting dinner & gave it away. Never again will I set foot in that dive.

The only thinfg from a 5 star review is the restaurant location and lack of ambience. The food is first rate by the best chef in Sanford!

After a friend suggested it to me, I went today for the first time. I am from St. Pete, Fl and "crab stands" are on every other corner. I ordered the garlic crabs dinner, curry goat and oxtails. The restaurant is on an odd end of a nearly empty plaza... I guess the a/c was broken so there are shop blowers in every corner of the small dinning area. That being said, We opted to take the food to my friend's home to eat. The garlic crabs were very good! Meaty, sweet, swimming in garlic... just the way I like it! I was disappointed that The Garlic Crabhouse does not have garlic sausage on it's menu!! What's a low crab boil without sausage! The goat on the other hand, was not what I expected. It was as if they threw curry on it and said, "Viola!". Curry Goat, when cooked right, should be tender and the curry should have a little bit of a kick. This goat was a little over cooked and under seasoned. The oxtails were just ok. They really need to work on their customer service skills and maybe their tip jar would actually have tips in it! I watched a waitress became impatient with a guest because she didn't understand what the dinner sides included and if she could make substitutions. Over all.... I enjoyed the crabs but I will stick with Negril's on Sliver Star in Orlando when I need my Jamaican food fix. I will be hitting up a crab stand as soon as I get to St. Pete this weekend!

We purchased live blue crabs and they were a great size (mix - sm/med/lg) for an OK price. I would purchase from here again and perhaps see if they have garlic crabs. The Yelp deal definitely influenced my decision to try this business, as it was not very appealing aesthetically.

The food was horrible. I seen bugs flying around my table. They gave my girl friend the wrong order. My wings didn't taste like garlic. The salad was mushy. Don't eat here . This is not real Caribbean food. The garlic Crap house gave me upset an stomach. I really hate place.
