I love Ale House. It is a great place to watch sports, eat, and drink. Sometimes the food can be great and other times just ok. I guess it depends on who is in the kitchen lol.

The food here is always great! I don't venture out much past the fish & chips or the french onion soup but it all looks great. During sporting events (NFL Sunday) it tends to get loud so if you don't like to hear the game then don't come on Sundays. Service is always with a smile and they have tons of beers on tap.

wow what can I say I had the best experience ... I sat at the bar and the bartender Misa makes the place.. No matter how busy she was my drink never was empty and my food was out in record time and to order. She was very attentive and pleasant she was always smiling and you can tell she enjoys her job and wants you to have a great exp. I will be back ....

We went there for a celebratory dinner and it was packed! Which I always take as a good sign. We had to wait 30 minutes for us to get a table but it was totally worth it! We had the Thai Chili Zingers as an app, which were delicious! And I had the Fish Tacos which were pretty good. Everyone else at the table had Burgers and fries. All very tasty! The drinks were generous and the desserts were AMAZING! I will definitely be going back here! The only complaint I had was that we were there when a UFC match was coming on and as soon as it did the volume of the fight was TOO loud. As soon as that happened we were ready to leave! But otherwise we all had a lot of fun and really enjoyed it!

Not a bad place to watch the game or have something to eat. Food is Ok for bar- sport bar fare. Service can be "Skechy" at times. Worth a try. Family friendly.

I have never been that impressed with the food at Ale House, but my friends like it and they have great drink specials. We went last night and the sign outside was advertising Angry Orchard Cider so I asked our waiter how much it was. He had to go find out. He came back and said it was $3.95, which was how much a pint of Leinenkugal was, my second choice, so I went ahead and got the cider. It came in a bottle. I really wish they would specify that it's in a bottle when they tell you the price. Now at the end of the meal, our check came. And my drink was listed as a Magners for 4.99. So I told the waiter that I didn't get the Magners, I got the Angry Orchard for $3.95 and he tried to tell me that Magners made Angry Orchard. (Magners is out of Ireland and comes in 16 oz bottles, Angry Orchard is domestic and comes in 12 oz bottles, there's a bit of a difference) Ok, well, you still told me it was $3.95 not $4.99. So he went to check on it, came back and said, no, it was $4.99. So I argued that I wouldn't have ordered it for that, I was told it was $3.95. And he asked me, incredulously, if I really wanted the $1 off. Yes, yes I do. When he finally brought back the check with $1 off as a "Manager's Discount" he had the nerve to tell ME, for future reference, all ciders at Ale House were $4.99. Shouldn't HE know that, not me???? I had specifically asked the price because I was on a budget. He left to go find out and then he tries to tell me he was wrong and I have to pay for it? We will not be back.

I visited this location because me and some coworkers were in the area around lunch time. When getting our order, our waiter was comical, brutally honest , but didnt know details about the daily special....we found that a little odd considering its the "daily special" and all. Moving into the meal, when unrolling one of the silverware settings, food was found on the knife. That on top of fighting gnats and flies throughout our meal spoke quite a bit about the cleanliness of this restaurant. The food was decent in general other than a couple things that were better at other locations such as the lobster bisque and the seasonless chicken in the chicken sandwich. I spoke with the manager at the end of the meal and we all came to the conclusion that he was probably on something even before he spoke. His eyes were glazed over and just didnt look that engaged, kind of looking through me, nothing warm and inviting like most managers try to present when talking to paying customers. I brought up the issues and he didnt even apologize about it and just stated "aw thats no good" Smh conversation that I dont think went very far. So with that awkward experience on top of the sanitation, Next time we are in town we will keep driving for a lunch stop.

I used to go here all the time because they have $5 pitchers of cheap, crappy beer, which is a pretty swell deal. They've always been really nice to me, and let me order a grilled cheese sandwich off of the kids menu when I was a vegetarian, and the grilled cheese is cheap, too, only about $3. So I would go there and spend about $8, eat my sandwich and drink my pitcher of beer. It was a swell time!!! If you order regular items on the menu, it obviously costs a bit more. I've had some really great times here, and although I haven't been in a while, I've heard they do a trivia night on, I think, wednesdays, and that sounds like fun, too.

Lobster bisque is for yum. Not sure who they get it from, but I likee. Well-priced, decent steak, esp. the NY Strip. Decent seafood, esp. the Seafood/Lobster Clam Bake and the fried clams. Mos def cheap to get your drink on here. Love the wings, too. Nice and crisp. The Cajun ranch dressing is good for french fry dipping. Get a free Capt'n Jack's Buried Treasure aka Type 2 Diabetes Just Waiting To Happen (ice cream cake with Oreo cookie crust, caramel, chocolate fudge & Heath Bar crunch) for free on your b-day when you become a member of their Raving Fans Club online. Please Note: their cole slaw is just awful. Tastes like it's mixed with some sort of industrial cleaning solution. Nasty. You cannot sub anything for it, either. So, just don't get it. Most servers here are annoying. Managers, too. Crowd usually is, too.

Generous portions, easy on the budget, better-than-average bar food. Nacho platters are HUGE (serves 3-4 easily). House salad is a BIG salad, complete with bacon, cheese, croutons, tomatoes, cukes, red onion. Bahamian Dolphin (Mahi-mahi) is fresh-tasting and cooked with tons of veggies. You'll take some home, I'll bet. Burgers are good. French onion soup is rich and covered with a thick layer of melted cheese. Chowder is rather thick, for my taste. All the appetizers I've tried are good, if a bit greasy. Fish and chips comes in a huge portion. This is the BEST place to go for reasonable drink prices. Pitchers for $5, double brand-name drinks for $5, with plenty of seasonal specials. Great place to go and watch a game or race, as you can see a couple of TVs, no matter where you're seated. Two pool tables, several video game machines. Child-friendly place.

My family and I went there while we were out of town. It was on a Sunday and we had heard they had TV's for football watching so we decided to try it out. Once there we there now disappointed. A mass of TV's to watch on every wall. But now how was the food and service, right? Well it was really awesome IMHO. I had seen online that they had fish&chips on the menu and I was wanting to try it. MAN! They gave you like 8 pieces of fish and fries and slaw for about $10! And it was very very good. My son had the rib-eye and my wife had Buffalo Wings and a sandwich to eat. For dessert we split a Oreo ice cream pie and a chocolate-peanut butter pie. We were stuffed! So you need to go if you get the chance. You wont be disappointed.

Waited 35 minutes for a garden salad from the time I ordered, and did not receive my lunch before I had to leave to go back to work. It was not even busy; the Altamonte location seems to be run much better.

Good food and cold beer. Great place to view a game. Gary the manager rocks and sometime you can even get him as a waiter when he covers a shift. BBQ Chicken Sanwich is very good.

I really enjoy this Ale House location. I'm a regular, and I'm in there at least once a week. I'll admit, I'm usually there more often than not. The food is actually really good. The wings are my favorite! I also really enjoy the zinger mountain melt. The prices are great, and I enjoy their beer selection. I also really enjoy the friendly service.

The bar and TV setup is excellent. The restaurant side is AWFUL!!!! I've been here about three times around 10PM and the service is terrible.

I go here fairly often & LOVE the turkey burger! Always awesome & staff is always super friendly!! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because my visit today almost ended in tragedy! I was leaving after my wonderful visit and one of their EMPLOYEES almost ran me over!! I mean like he came high tailing it through the parking lot and got to close to me for my comfort! I didn't catch this guys name but he drives a Mitsubishi Lancer and everyone should watch out because he doesn't care who is in his way!!

Great place for late snack, beer and drinks. I like their mixed drinks like their mojito. Great prices.. As for food, I recommend their calamari, chicken wings and french onion soup.

This is by far the worst Ale House "Food wise" I have ever been to, and we frequent Ale Houses across central Fl. With our construction company. Today the specail was the taco salad which I have had several times at other locations....lets just say the amount of meat wouldn't make a kids soft taco and the fact it had pico on it even after requesting no tomatoes "pico" was another upset. My partner was very excited for the hot pastrami sandwhich which we were informed they ran out of...mind you its 12:20 at lunch and this is the lunch special. At first I thought the bartender was dry but after a bit he was actually pretty cool, verry attentive and had the bar laughing which is why I gave three stars. We now have an appointment in waterford where we plan on stopping at the Ale House there to eat...

Awful. We both had the Philly steak sandwich. Tough, dried out, little burned taste & too few onions and melted mozzarella? Sorry it was white American cheese! Should have sent it back but we were pressed for time. Pass on this ale house. Chef needs a road trip to Philly!

The Calamari with the sauce they make is the best I have ever eaten. If you eat nothing else get the calamari it's fantastic... The food here is good. There are several in this chain and they are all good. I have never had a bad meal here. I always get the calamari but the food they server is really good. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Restaurants are clean and comfortable. All-in-all they figured out how to run a restaurant that you enjoy going too... plus it's a chain which makes it even that much more of surprise. Try this place you will like it...and get the calamari...

Good was good, but they changed my favorite sandwich which was the entire reason I went there tonight. In it's place I got the prime rib French dip and it was great. Super slow kitchen and it wasn't that busy. The host may have forgotten to tell the server we were seated but who knows. We indulged in the apple crisp and it was really tasty, thumbs up. Just a bit slow and we were pretty hungry, so it made us impatient.

Excellent atmosphere! Great staff! Ryan knows his stuff! Fab seafood...had the fish and chips and shrimp ...YUM. The osso bucco also looked great! We will have that the next time. Good onion rings, fries too! Plenty of Flat screens to catch the games...Its a hotspot too...Ernie, the manager, is proactive and runs a great ship!

Service was extremely slow. Wings are always good, as long as you're not in a hurry. No chili? Who takes chili off a menu? Crap! Restaurant is always very COLD - brrrrrrr!

Take this place for what it is- a sports bar with a decent draft selection and bar, some hits and misses on the food, and moderate to bad service. It's just what you expect when you come here. I don't expect to have an amazing server, and I also know not to order a salad, or to think my drinks will be ready in 10 minutes. Knowing this, I love going to Ale House. I love the mix of people, seeing someone order the chicken nachos and then see them come out, I love drinking the pitchers of Sangria that taste like Hawaiian punch wine, and I love hearing people shouting at the TVs on the patio. My rating reflects what the place really is. Average. But I still have a great time. The location in Winter Park seems to have the best food and service, from my experience.

Great bar food! Anything with zingers is great! Zinger mountain melt is my all time Ale House favorite! Great booze selection! No complaints for a casual lunch or dinner.

Nice layout. Great to see tv's all over the place. But, it all stops there if you're interested in good service, cold drinks, hot food, and a big exciting Saturday afternoon college football crowd. We loved the easy availability of choice seats. And the tv's were mostly high-quality and plentiful. We wondered why this place was 2/3 empty at 3:30pm on a Saturday at kick-off of the Gators vs. Bama game. Then we quickly realized why: the service. A pleasant young lady greeted us, took our relatively simple drink order (beers + a mixed drink), and then disappeared. She did walk by a few times promising our drinks would be right up. And then walked by again. And again. "Your drinks will be right up", she promised. Finally, with 3 people sitting at the bar, and maybe 25% of the tables occupied, we got our drinks. Sorta. Forgot our glasses and our waters. But we did get some barely-chilled bottles of beer and a minuscule rocks glass as our mixed drink. Ordered food. Cold, flavorless boneless wings and 3 scraggly celery sticks, each the the size of a large matchstick. Nope. Nowhere near the picture on the menu. We decided to go elsewhere. Now things get a little tricky. How long should it take to get our check? Forever, until we flag down an earnest-looking waiter, who immediately produces our check. Bless her heart (Southern-speak for "what a lame-brain") - our friendly waitress finally came by to ask us if we would like another round of drinks. Really? What happened to our request for our bill? Oh, yeah, no problem. Ouch. Now we know why no one goes to this Ale House on a Saturday afternoon for a big game. Gonna be quite awhile till any of us go back. Later, Ale House.

Service was slow to start. Once things got going, it was great! I ordered the blackened zinger melt. I also ordered a side of fries. I had no idea I was going to be screwed for $3.75 for a side of French Fries? Seriously, tell me they are an arm and leg first and I'll skip them next time. $4 dollar fries better come with cheese and a side of ranch next time. What a ripoff!

I wish I could give this place a better rating, but I can't. Good things first - our server was great. Friendly and attentive and a good representative of the restaurant. The ambience is nice and the restaurant looks well maintained. I had a black and tan. It was properly made with Harp and Guinness, but there was something floating in it that I didn't find until I was near the bottom of the glass. Disquieting. It's probably just from a dirty tap, but that's not what I want in my beer. Next was a Caesar salad. The lettuce was limp and overdressed. Since that's most of a Caesar salad, that makes for a very disappointing experience. The rest of my party seemed to enjoy their meals quite a bit, so maybe I just got unlucky. But every restaurant is only as good as its last meal, and I have a lot of options in that area and this place probably won't rise to the top of my list anytime soon. Update: To clarify, this review is for the Sanford location. I have corrected the review on the other site. Sorry for the confusion.

Couldn't wait to come to the Sanford Ale House. I missed the one in Brandon FL I used to go to. My favorite has always been the Enormous Chicken Nachoes $10.99 but I was disappointed in the nachoes here. The chips were a little over done dark golden brown color, the chicken was very dry and the cheese was very little on the nachoes after extra cheese was ordered. They are supposed to be layered with cheese and chips but these were not which is why there were a lot of chips dry and no cheese or chicken just chips. I ordered the 12oz Ribeye $16.99 with a side caesar salad $.95 extra and a baked potato. The ribeye was ordered medium but was brought extremely well done where it was white and dry on the inside. The caesar salad was very salty, so much that I couldn't eat it. My partner ordered chicken fajitas $10.95 which were very good. We also ordered desserts. I got the Nutter Butter ice cream cake $5.95 (nutter butter cookies, fudge, vanilla ice cream, choc and peanut butter sauces) and she got the Capt n' Jack's buried treasure ice cream cake $5.95 (oreo cookie crust, caramel, choc fudge and heath bar crunch). The desserts were fantastic! The manager had come over without even being asked to when the server noticed how over done my steak was. Immediately asked if I would like another but I did not want to wait so he very nicely removed the steak from our check without thinking twice. Management and service was very impressive even if the chefs were off their game. We will come back here to try it again.

The Sanford ale house is my exclusive lunch spot in the Sanford area. Although it represents a great value for a full service lunch it's really the bartender that keeps me coming back. Gary is the man! He's attentive, outgoing and an all around great guy. He never fails to provide a great experience coupled with awesome banter. I make it a point to stop in as often as I can. Keep up the good work!

We have eaten several times in the last couple of years and food usually was decent and the price and portion was a good value. This makes the second time that the food quality was terrible and the last time we eat here. My wife and I got the fried seafood platter and shared, and our boys got a kid!s cheeseburger and Mac n cheese. The seafood platter was really bad, scallops undercooked, shrimp cold, fish was so greasy and the clams were just OK. Waitress agreed the scallops were undercooked and ordered a new platter that took forever to arrive. The manager came out and apologized and said it was on him and he said it took so long because the second platter was bad also, so this was the third. My scallops were pink inside and I refused to eat them and he just replied that the scallops probably ate shrimp and that's why they were pink. He did offer a free desert, but we passed as the kids didn't get the desert that came with their meal. Poor quality of food and food undercooked are a bad combination. Stay away!

Initial greeting was super pleasant and welcoming. We experienced only a short wait for a table at 8:30 on a Friday night. Parking lot was packed, and we had to park in the adjacent Dillard's lot. Bar service was brick. Bartender greeted us, and filled our order quickly. He was joking around with the patron next to us in a good natured way that made me feel even more welcome. Table service went very briskly. Although a party we were seated next to received their entrees after ours arrived, we had no complaints. Heard several waitresses tell patrons the kitchen was backed up, but our food came out quickly with no issues. Blackened turkey burger was very good, with a nice bun. Meat was moist, and the patty was immense. For the price, this sandwich was a great value. I added the sweet potato fries, which were accompanied by a "dipping sauce." The fries didn't need any sauce, and that was a good thing, as the sauce turned out to be a lump of cinnamon butter that hadn't melted by the end of the meal. No biggie, just be aware. Starter was a basket of onion rings. The rings were fried expertly, were not greasy, and the onions were tender; absolutely delicious. Accompanied by a wonderful dipping sauce, this was an appetizer I shouldn't have ordered late at night, and one I would willingly order again. Don't miss it. All in all, Miller's had decent food at reasonable prices. The service was friendly, brisk, and sincerely nice. I'd go back.

I'm originally from Florida but am currently stationed in Fort Hood, TX. While on leave the first place I wanted to go to was Miller's. Our plane didn't land till 0930 at MCO and we still had to drive to Sanford so we got to the restaurant around 11:30 (they close at 1AM). You could tell our waitress didn't want to be there and was ready to go home, but I tried not to let it get me down. I ordered the zingers, which are always on point. I wanted to order the chicken Caesar salad blackened but I was too full. My husband had the 35 shrimp, but he didn't really care for it. I gave them four stars due to the service, but I still love to come to Miller's anytime I come home.

I ate at the Sanford location last Sunday. I ordered the half rack ribs and rice and it was so slow. We got our food probably 45 minutes late and then it was cold. All three meals were unsatisfactory. I did eat mine, though I probably should have returned it and demanded a new one. A few hours later I felt stomach pains. At 1 am I had terrible pain and at 2 am I threw up. I got food poisoning. It lasted 3 days and I was forced to cancel all my plans. It was a horrible experience and I will never go back. Ever.

I was with a group of five in the area for a business trip. I was told we were going to the "Orlando Ale House" and my immediate response was "I wonder if it is like the Miller's Ale House in Alpharetta, GA." I have always had positive experiences at the Miller's Ale House in Alpharetta. When we pulled into the parking lot, the place did say "Orlando Ale House" on the exterior but was clearly the Miller's Ale House by the logo and looks inside. I was disappointed that we were in Florida where you can get great, fresh seafood and here we were at an ok seafood place. Once seated, our waiter came to get drink orders. My co-worker asked if there were any specials and his response shocked us all. Him: "We don't have any normal specials." Co-worker: "Ok, so what not normal specials do you have?" Him: "We don't have any." Co-worker: "What food specials do you have?" Him: "Oh you want to know the food specials? It was lobster but we are out of it." Co-worker: "And you don't have any drink specials?" Him: "Yeah we do." Me: "Well then tell us what are they!" Him: "I was getting to that." He finally told us but it was such a Ridiculous conversation! My co-worker ordered a margarita and the rest of us said we still wanted to look further and to bring us waters for first. He came back with the waters and we ordered an appetizer of chili cheese fries and placed our other drink orders (mine was a pineapple mojito). He came back with all of our drinks except the margarita. We asked him about the margarita and his response was "oh did you still want that?" Seriously, would she have ordered it if she didn't!?!? Food wise, three of us ordered the Baked Seafood Sampler (Mahi Mahi, Clams, Stuffed Shrimp and Scallops), one ordered a Surf and Turf and the other a Chicken Philly. The food came out in the normal acceptable time. None of us were all that impressed with our food. Sure, you got a good amount of food for like $13 but seriously, it tasted as though it came from the freezer. The "Stuffed Shrimp" was a piece of shrimp, a ball of the stuffing, another piece of shrimp, a ball of stuffing and closed with a third shrimp. That is NOT stuffed shrimp! The scallops were tiny and rubbery. Overall, disappointing! At the Alpharetta location, I had some great desserts so I knew I wanted one. I ordered the "Cap'n Jack's Nutty Brother." Instead of bringing my dessert, he brought our checks. I noticed that mine did not have the dessert on it. When he came to collect them, I asked if I was still getting my dessert. His response was "Oh, you still wanted that?" Again, seriously!?! Would I order something if I did not want it! He came back with the checks and had added my dessert to the bill. Eventually, I got the dessert and it was the only good part of my experience there. I do not plan to ever go back to this Miller's Ale House again.

The food and service is good. Friendly people... but this is the third time I've been here for trivia that it seems like the A/C is not on. Management must be trying to save money by not running the air conditioning at an appropriate level. You can't save money by driving away customers.

No complaints with the food today but our service was pretty painful. Started by waiting 5 min at the door around 1145am to be seated while three employees chatted within 2 feet of us, eventually one of them sat us in a booth. The restaurant was virtually empty since they only opened at 1130am. We were one of two booths filled in the dining area. Our server, Liza was friendly but clearly inexperienced and "green". I asked about what the specials were, she commented that she couldn't pronounce either of them and giggled about it - hmmm really? They were gyro and chimichanga? She wasn't sure what the soup of the day was and used a lot of "I think" and "I'm not sure" when we asked basic questions about sides and sauces. After she walked away, we noticed their soup of the day choices were listed on the menu. She needs to learn that lack of confidence set a really bad tone before we finalized our order. She didn't bring me the right drink but I never said anything cause I was already annoyed and prepared for an amateur experience. We rarely saw her during our meal except when she plopped down a refill of my wrong beverage. Unfortunately, we had to flag her down for take out boxes twice and to pay the bill. By the time we left, her tables were full and I wondered how she would keep up since she already struggled with just a few. I've never been a fan of this place but after today, I'll continue to avoid Ale House. On a bright note, the calamari was very good.

If you want to go some place to get a quick meal after a game or work during a weekday, this is not the place for you! The waitress was great, but the food came out almost cold and took forever. This seams to be a trend and the place was not that busy. On the other hand when I go for lunch, I usually don't have an issue.

My boyfriend and I ate here last weekend, and we both agreed that the food was disgusting. We had the fish and chips, and the fish was like eating shoe leather. I have been to other Ale House's and the food has been fine. At one point, I thought that I was eating the skin of the fish, that's how tough it was. The only saving grace about this place is that the service was good, and accomidating when I asked the change one of the TVs so I could watch the US Open. I will never go back here and order food. Maybe a beer... it's hard mess that up, right?

Stay away!

The food and service is good. Friendly people... but this is the third time I've been here for trivia that it seems like the A/C is not on. Management must be trying to save money by not running the air conditioning at an appropriate level. You can't save money by driving away customers.

On the other hand when I go for lunch, I usually don't have an issue.

wow what can I say I had the best experience ... I sat at the bar and the bartender Misa makes the place.. No matter how busy she was my drink never was empty and my food was out in record time and to order. She was very attentive and pleasant she was always smiling and you can tell she enjoys her job and wants you to have a great exp. I will be back ....

The food here is always great! I don't venture out much past the fish & chips or the french onion soup but it all looks great. During sporting events (NFL Sunday) it tends to get loud so if you don't like to hear the game then don't come on Sundays. Service is always with a smile and they have tons of beers on tap.
