We went here last night after checking out Baytowne a little bit. We had a party of 13 so I rushed ahead of our group to put our name on the list. Surprisingly, I was told they could seat us now. What!?! That NEVER happens!! We had our 92 year old grandmother with us and thankfully they had an elevator for the second floor where we were seated at. Our table was back in the corner near the restrooms and very cramped but we made do. The tables weren't what I was expecting, plastic folding tables with a plastic table cloth. Maybe that's part of the atmosphere they were looking for? Three people in our party had been here before and recommended the chargrilled oysters as an appetizer. We got two dozen for the whole table. They were spectacular! Now, I'm an oyster lover so maybe I'm biased but my wife who does NOT like to be adventurous with seafood liked them! My brother in law ate as many as I did! For my entree I almost ordered the 10-Napkin Roast Beef but I read reviews that said it was more like pot roast and that wasn't what I was looking for. So I opted for the Fried Fish Platter. The fish was white, light and not over breaded. The fries were par for the course but good. My brother in law ordered the Acme Special which had the pot roast beef on it and turkey. There seemed to be a pound of shredded lettuce on it and he did not like it. I ended up giving him one of my three filets. In hindsight, I should have just stuck with oysters for dinner as that was my favorite part. This is a tourist trap so don't go one expecting gourmet seafood but you MUST try the chargrilled oysters. Also, Baytowne is a nightmare for parking. We had to park a half mile away and walk to Baytowne. Not convenient when you have some in your party that cannot walk well.

Best chargrilled oysters I have EVER had!!! The boo fries are always a must as well! We always go back. They gave us a thirty minute wait so we went to Fat Tuesday for daiquiris. They called our table in 10 minutes and were nice enough to put our drinks in the freezer while we ate so it wouldn't be such a waste of money, and we could avoid the brain freeze.

It's ironic, perhaps even tragic that a foodie such as myself does not like seafood. It's kind of like a musician not liking the guitar or an artist not liking the color red. What is also a bit odd is that a Cajun/Creole restaurant, noted for seafood, is so pleasing to me nevertheless. In fact, I can't get enough of it. Ok, the truth is that I don't come to the Acme Oyster House for the oysters, to some that may be a crime - I come here for the New Orleans Medley, a combination of chicken & andouille sausage gumbo, jambalaya, and red beans & rice. It is oh so good. Equally impressive are the po' boys - the best of which being the Acme 10-Napkin Roast Beef po' boy. Yeah, I know - not seafood... but I love the richness in flavor that these foods have. Of course, no meal of this kind would be complete without a refreshing Abita Amber - good thing they carry that too. In its setting in Baytowne Wharf, you can still almost get the French Quarter vibe. So, if you can't make it to New Orleans, this may be a suitable substitute to hold you over for a while.

Service was great and the shrimp was fried to perfection. A bit overpriced but I was willing to pay for the convenient proximity to our condo. Had the hush puppies not been such a disappointment I would have given it five stars.

Not sure why everyone here is raving about this place. Service was find but the food was not great. I started with 6 oysters, all of which were salty. I'm not talking sea water salty...I've eaten plenty of oysters. These were just, well, salty. Unpleasant. For dinner I had the fried soft shelled crab platter. Like the oysters, it was loaded with salt. If I wasn't a prisoner at the Sandestin Resort (on property for biz for 2 days and without car), I would have avoided the restaurants in the area completely.

Nice casual place. Service was quick and great people watching on the plaza area. Food was good as well

Took the fam for lunch, walked out spending over $100....for lunch! Service was OK, was treated like a tourist, but overall our server did her best. Had the PoBoys, shrimps and oysters were good, but in order to get more mayo we had to pay for it. Overall, food was OK, but spending that kind of money for lunch we should get more.

Awesome. I think I are the biggest saltiest Texas (area 20) oyster ever. Definitely my favorite seafood experience in Destin and some awesome staff at Acme. Thanks for a great experience!!!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The reason for the 5 star rating, however, is the service. Not only was our server fantastic, but when her trainee accidentally spilled water on my phone, the manager came right out and filed an incident report. The next morning I received a call from the GM asking me to send him the receipt for the phone and within a few days a check was in my mailbox to replace it. They handled the problem quickly and made it easy for me. I didn't expect them to replace the phone, to be honest, and I can't believe how well the whole situation was handled. It didn't ruin the fantastic night I had planned in Bayetown, even though I could have let it and probably would have if the situation were handled differently. So thank you to the service and management team. Keep doing what you do!

We came here for an impromptu date night one night and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. We had the gravy fries to start off with and immediately wished we had ordered two! They were insanely good. I get cravings for those fries now. I got the shrimp poboy and it was really good! A lot of places around here boast that they have poboys when they actually have sub sandwiches that taste nothing like a New Orleans poboy. This one was so close to home that I'll definitely come back. Baytowne sucks though. Parking is always a pain in the butt and everything is more expensive than if they opened up just outside the gate. I'm sure they must pay a pretty penny to lease their spaces. I'll come back again during the off season to deal with that.
We had lunch there and I got the Smoked Sausage Po Boy and Fries. Very good food and atmosphere.Makes you wish you were in New Orleans!

A mistake I will not repeat. So the location was nice it was actually in a gated community which was a surprise to me. In a place called Baytowne. I went to Acme oyster for roasted oysters hoping to have something similar to Drago's in New Orleans. It was not. Each course I ordered was a disappointment. The highlight was having some community coffee with honey. Certainly a nice setting but was surprised that a resort fee was included on my bill. Dinner for one expect to spend $60.

Being that I've eaten at 4 other Acme locations, this one only gets 2 stars because it's the worst location I've eaten at. With that being said, the food isn't bad, it's just mediocre. Just don't go in expecting a New Orleans/Louisiana-level experience.
(2)
Jennifer I.
Well, the restaurant itself is fun and has lots of tables outside to enjoy the Florida weather. However, the food is severely over priced and the quality is lacking. We ordered a dozen oysters, raw, and they were pretty bad. There were bits of shell still in there, and I had to pick them out of my mouth to keep from swallowing them. For my entree, I had the jambalaya. It was pretty bad. I've made jambalaya out of a Zataran's box that had more flavor than theirs did (oh, and a box of Zataran's doesn't cost $15). The service was ok, no problems there, but I don't think we'll go back here anytime soon.

Awesome oysters and crawfish! Super friendly oyster shucker. We will be back next time we are in the area. I would def recommend it to anyone in the area

Good family place, awesome po-boys and nice prices for what you get. Usually crowded at peak times so be prepared. Typical NOLA style.

Great raw oysters. Peace maker Po Boy was also good. Cocktail sauce was excellent- lots of horseradish just the way I like it!

Kayla T.
Been to Acme Oyster Home several times here in Destin and have loved it every time I've been here. This time I had my usual Boo Fries as an appetizer, tried Fried Crawfish tails & Chargrilled Oysters. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Po-Boy, my only complaint is that the sandwich was pretty dry. But other than that I enjoyed everything and the service was great and the time we went was quiet. Loved it.

We visited this place last week. usually pretty good but this time something was wrong, our waitress was too preoccupied to have anything to do with us, the seafood platter was mostly breading and no shrimp or oysters, the raw oysters were very tiny. The prices were outrageous for the food and they tack on a resort fee to the end of your bill whether you are staying one of the rooms or not. Also the floors were very dirty and the place has gone down hill, very shabby looking.
(1)
Nathan G.
the boiled shrimp appetizer was great...really good local caught shrimp. However, when the rest of our food showed up...SHOCKER, it was all imported stuff I could have bought at Publix. seriously...market prices for frozen shrimp and oysters from a bag...yuck. Too expensive for mediocre food.
(2)
Kat L.
Banging Jambalaya with no seafood to kill this kitty. Loved it. minus one star for the smallest piece of pecan pie ever for $6. Seriously, my hair brush is bigger than this slice.

Had the charbroiled oysters if you like oysters you have to have these they are great! Also the gumbo was awesome as well
(5)

Best oysters, anywhere! Happy to stumble upon this after having a great meal at their NOLA location a few years back. Char grilled oysters, along with fried oysters and fish were excellent, and plentiful. Such a family fav, we went twice in three days.
(5)
A O.
Been to the one in New Orleans and went to this one to have the chargrilled oysters. But they were exceptionally small!! Very disappointed. Also had the fresh fish po boy which was mahi. That was just ok as well. But i would not go back here based on this experience and high prices.
Fun dinner spot in Baytowne. This is my husband & I's favorite restaurant in the Village. Favorite menu items: crawpuppies & the fried crawfish tail poboy with grilled onions, cheese, & tabasco mayo! Other menu items are great as well & the spicy cocktail sauce is reason enough to try this place out!
(5)
Erin E.
Not the best food but not terrible. I am NOT an oyster person, but I felt obligated to try some that our table of 14 ordered. The chargrilled were decent, the sauce was really good on the bread. I really liked the bang bang shrimp, it tastes very similar to Bonefish. I had the medley (jambalaya, red beans & rice, etoufee and sausage) and it was just ok. Nothing really stood out as amazing but we had good service. Definitely touristy...

Been here numerous times - it's a must every time we visit Sandestin. This last visit on 5/22/14 gets only 3 stars because of the service. We sat inside, but our waiter had tables outside so was not around much. We had to wait on him quite often. Food was good though.

Great place for oysters if you are staying in SanDestin Resort & do not want to leave the property. We tried the char grilled for the 1st time and LOVED the flavor!! We continue to visit Acme year after year! Friendly hostess too!!
(3)
Adam C.
Craw puppies were a hush puppy/crabcake, wish there was more crawfish but good flavor. Grilled shrimp and onions were overpriced but good. Taste was similar to japanese steakhouse shrimp, nothing special. New orleans medley was a good mix, gumbo was too soupy needed more substance. It had some great flavor just needed more substance. We ended up adding the jambalaya to the gumbo which made it about right. Pass on the potato salad it was very bland and not worth eating. Price wasn't bad but I was just hoping for better flavors and quality food. Considering some places would try to serve this at higher prices it was not a bad deal, still they can do better.
(3)
Anne L.
Sadly this place was recommended to us. We tried the sausage (best thing we had), fried snow crab claws (no flavor, too heavily breaded), and the fish sandwich, again no flavor. Beers are $4, but only $2 right next door. Seating staff and waitress were not in sync as we waited over 15 mins to have drink order taken. Certainly not worth the hype and won't be back.

Everything needed salt, no real flavors, overpriced.

I've been here a few times over the years. Stick to what they're known for, and you will be satisfied. Their chargrilled oysters are some of the best things I've ever eaten. I only wish the french bread slices they provided with the dish were better quality. I've tried their other dishes such as the fried platters, gumbo, jambalaya and red beans & rice but they are merely just .... meh, nothing too great and nothing too bad. Go here for the oysters and beer and you can't go wrong. The prices are pretty high as well, but that's what you can expect in the Destin area nowadays.
(3)
Pancho V.
Go here for oysters and you will leave very happy. The char-grilled are OUT OF THIS WORLD! If you are looking for something other than oysters...go somewhere else!

As I walked in the carpet was stained. I took 40 minutes to get seated. The food was ok but the cheese burger had a tiny brown hair on it and it was 18 dollars for a average cheeseburger and some cold fries. I came here with my some college friends and the meal came out to 170. The waitress farted accidently twice and didn't even say anything. Only great thing about acme is that they had amazing salt and pepper shakers. Best restraunt ever. Totally come back.

If you want a deal here, you gotta know what to order. Personally, I'm a huge oyster fan. In most restaurants, they can cost around $2-$3 a piece. Here you got a dozen for $18, which is a steal. Their oysters come from TX, were medium in size with a little bit of salinity. I paired that with a bowl of the shrimp gumbo. I think it was a reasonably priced lunch. Service was very friendly and the ktichen was fast.
(3)
Kristy M.
The best choice in the area for raw oysters! It was just like the Acme in New Orleans, which is exactly what we hoped for. The po boys were also on par, lightly battered and seasoned just right. I will definitely be back when I am in the area!

3 words....char-grilled-oysters! Ohhhhhh my god! These were possibly the best things I've ever tasted. Friends took us here while we were in for the wine festival (a must do, by the way!) My husband hates oysters but we had him hooked at the first bite. We went for lunch, the place was busy but we were seated right away. We had a great server from Hungary who took good care of us. Besides the oysters we had the red beans and rice and the gumbo along with a few beers. So good, great casual place, good vibe, made me happy to be alive and so happy god made oysters!

The grilled oysters were SOOOO good. The raw were excellent as well, as were the sweet potato fries. Everything else was just fine, but not amazing.
(3)
Billy B.
Horrible. Avoid. Unpleasant waitress. Expensive. Oysters from San Antonio TX. No excuse for that when Apalachicola just along the road from Destin. Pre-shucked, not cold. Caters for conference crowd and tourists.

Chargrilled oysters are THE best. Was in the area for three days, came here five times. That's how much I loved this place. The Po Boys, all good. I love that you can get one sandwich with two different fillings, shrimp/oyster/fish oh my! The bread is so light and tasty. Also had the 10 napkin roast beef...wow it was so good. But I won't forget the oysters! Being from NY I am glad I am going to NOLA for five days, I know I will be stopping by the one that is there.

Chose to eat here to get some of the local fried fish/seafood/cajun flavored food. We split the chargrilled oysters - DELISH and then ordered the half-and-half platter (fried fish/shrimp) and the new orleans medley (gumbo, jambalaya, red beans & rice) for our entrees. Everything was great and perfect for the casual dinner option that we were looking for in Baytowne Wharf. Definitely one of the low-key restaurant options there. Fun, casual atmosphere. I would recommend it over the other casual eateries we came across in that wharf area.

Pricy lunch for 2. Average at best service. Pre-shucked oysters, dirty dishes and little followup service.

Great oysters here at the Oyster House. I've been a few times but only recently tried the Chargrilled Oysters which are now an absolute MUST! If you're looking for a great place to eat oysters and have a few drinks while enjoying the local scene this is a great stop. For fine dining you'll want to go elsewhere, but the oysters here can't be beat!

Delicious chargrilled oysters. Fried shrimp were good. I didn't care for the grilled shrimp.

Worst service I have ever experienced! Save your time and do not eat here. Our waitress was very rude and inattentive. My mother-in-law ordered from the kids' menu and did not bring her a drink. Later when we asked her for the drink she stated that only kids could get the drink and gave us a hard time about it. If that is their policy then she should have made that clear from the beginning. Nor did she bring us water for my mother-in-law or even ask. Because we had more then 6 people in our group she knew she was going to get the automatic gratuity of 18% and felt that she could give us horrible service. We were the only people in the restaurant as well.

First off, I hate to write this review since I love the Acme Oysters location in the New Orleans French Quarter. Upon arrival in Destin, I was pleased to learn that there was an Acme Osyter House in town. We went there without hesitation with visions of raw oysters, chargrilled oysters and the fried peacemaker po-boy along with Abita Turbo Dog Beers. I was surprised to see that this outpost of Acme was located in a Disney-esque type village location.....anyhoo, we got to the restaurant and were seated right away. The restaurant itself felt a little cramped, but at least I had a good view of the guy grilling the oysters, but I got kind of concerned when I saw him grab a big plastic type bag of some type of sauce and poured it into a big metal vat and then begin to ladle this sauce on the oysters. This was certainly different from the way they are prepared in New Orleans..........oh well, the raw oysters just arrived and they were good, but then things went downhill when the chargrilled oysters arrived. These oysters were very small. I have spent many hours at the shucking bar at the New Orleans location and know for a fact that they always use the big oysters for chargrilled since they shrink during the cooking process. These were just tiny and at $19.99/dozen I felt both robbed and heartbroken that my beloved Acme Oysters had stooped to this level...not only with these portion sizes and prices, but to also be in this fake town location. I will continue to frequent Acme in New orleans, but will definitely stay away from this fake location along with their mini oysters and high prices.

Love it !!! I like to say that I love seafood but i am not a huge oyster fan. However, the chargrilled oysters here...WOW !!!! Awesome !!! I ordered the New Orleans Medley, which was gumbo, jambalaya, red beans & rice, and grilled smoked sausage. It was all very good. I could probably have eaten more but i left full and not stuffed. We sat outside and despite Spring Break still had a wonderful dinner and evening.

Considering they're in a tourist area (Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin, FL), it's pretty good. They have oysters and crawfish, like any respectable New Orleans-style restaurant. They're really busy during the tourist season. We had a short wait and so stepped across the "street" for some daiquiris. You can't bring other beverages in, and they were kind enough to keep moving us down the list until we'd sucked down our drinks.

Grilled oysters very good. Hushpuppies were terrible little dough rocks. Fried shrimp good.

While enjoying the Sandestin Baytowne Wharf, this place was suggested for a quick dinner, as one in our party was familiar with the restaurants, although not this location. What a mistake! We ate upstairs. It was loud with rowdy (some apparently overserved) patrons. Our waitress did not have many tables to serve but still did not provide very good service. I guessed she was new as I saw her flustered several times by our request for missing Tabasco mayo and unknown requests from the few other tables. When ordering, one person was not able to get the shrimp broiled, only deep fried as they were "out of broiled shrimp." Hm. The kids got popcorn shrimp and adults in our party mostly ordered the Po Boy sandwiches - oyster, shrimp, half/half and one grilled chicken. All the orders came out except the chicken, so we asked the waitress. She checked and told us it was coming. We asked again after it was clearly MIA - she walked away to check. After everyone had completed their meals the chicken came out, delivered by someone who just set it down and left. We asked our waitress about it and she apologized, offered a to-go box and gave us our check. We called the manager over and he said "sorry but I was unaware of the severity of the issue so I didn't come check on you." That was the end of the issue till one in our party (a manager of a restaurant) asked him to comp us for the sandwich, which he did. Now as for the Po Boy's - I had the 1/2 and 1/2 (shrimp / oyster). Honestly it was nothing special. The bread overwhelmed the meat and the Tabasco infused mayo didn't do much for it. The kids didn't think much of their popcorn shrimp and my sampling left the same impression with me. The horrible service might have been a fluke but the food experience didn't make me want to come back either. Next time I'll definitely pass.

Yes it is touristy but so is the whole baytown wharf. You are on a resort therefore a tourist. There was also no wait when we got there around 7. We had a dozen fresh Oysters, gumbo, and a shrimp po-boy. They were all above par and definitely better quality than some of the other standard causal places there. I would avoid sitting inside near the oyster bar. The smoke from the chargrilled oysters was heavy and not pleasant.
(3)
Molly P.
This place is pretty good. Nice bar/family atmosphere, clean and not too rowdy. The Oysters were large and tasty, I love them raw although the chargrilled I have to say were wonderful as well. I would advise ordering a cajun dish as this is their specialty. Good location as well, lots of shopping/people outdoor walking around and things to see.
(3)
Antony D.
Grilled oysters! It's not New Orleans but you probably new that before you walked in the door.
(4)

this is not my favorite place to just go eat instead my family and I like to go in the afternoon and just get some oysters to snack on! I really like the oysters because they do not taste fishy they are fresh and great location in Baytowne wharf perfect for kids or adults

Not as good as New Orleans, but good.

A tourist trap at its finest. The lunch we had could of been topped by Long John Silvers at 1/16th the price. Avoid if you would like to taste better food from the area.

Came in leery because of prior experience at Hammerheads. Turns out this place is the absolute opposite. Steve (Trotter?) behind the oyster bar was amazing in many ways. He was courteous, he was gracious and offered to my wife to allow her to sample the oysters. We ended up ordering a dozen and they were great. The sandwiches were good, the fish excellent, the oysters fresh, the service courteous and responsive and well worth the time. We thought we would eat outside but didn't want to wait. We wandered in and the AC along with the great interior atmosphere changed our mind. We ate inside, and had a great experience. Enjoy.

I'm bumping up Acme. One of the better places to go for oysters, and the atmosphere in Baytowne is festive and fun. We like taking our guests here, sitting outside and enjoying a few orders of chargrilled oysters and some Abitas!
(4)

Enjoyed our dinner here! We had the chargrilled oysters, jambalaya, and a fried crawfish po-boy. Service was really quick. We sat outside upstairs and loved the view.

The oysters "on the half shell" were fresh and HUGE, even the horseradish was awesome! Had the 1/2 fried fish: 1/2 shrimp plate w/ hushpuppies and it was perfect!!! Rest of the family had various Poboys, and they loved em'! Great escape from the heat at Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin. (Right down the road from the outlets in Destin, FL.) Oh yeah the sweet tea had the right amount of sweetness!!!!

This is another touristy place in the Sandestin Baytowne Wharf. The wait was a bit long but that doesn't seem to matter since you're in the middle of the little Baytowne Wharf village and there is plenty of entertainment and drink stations to occupy your time. I enjoyed the food, we got one of the classic fried seafood platters with fried fish, fried shrimp, fried oysters, hush puppies, etc. We also got raw oysters for the appetizer which were very good and big. My margarita was good and strong. Waitress was very nice but a bit slow. All in all I will probably go back if I vacation down there again.

We came here and got seated right away. We placed our drink order and then continued looking over the menu. The drinks came and when we started ordering, the waiter told us they were out of oysters, due to the storm.he said they would have fresh oysters the next day. So, we finished our beer, paid the tab and left.mwe cme back the next day and the oysters were in. We sat at the bar and ordered a dozen raw oysters and a dozen chargrilled oyster. The raw oysters came and my husband ate all his and fifteen minutes later my chargrilled oysters arrived. They were absolutely great, but sooooo small. They usually use the larger oysters to chargrill, since they shrink up so much. They shrank to about the size of a nickel and some the size of a quarter. I was disappointed with the size, but they were delicious at $19.99 a dozen you expect a little more. We ordered another dozen of the chargrilled and a bowl of gumbo to split. The gumbo was not great, tasted like a mix instead of something made fresh from scratch. The atmosphere was good though.

I loved sitting outside at this place. It makes you feel like you are in New Orleans. For appetizers we got the boo fries and the oysters. The boo fries were so good with the gravy and beef and cheese. I didn't have the oysters, but boyfriend guzzled them up! For dinner, I had the boom boom shrimp and hush puppies. They were similar to bang bang shrimp from Bonefish, but much crispy and served in a bigger portion. I really liked them. Boyfriend had grilled Mahi with fries and a bed of mushrooms. He loved it. So overall, I would say we had a great dining experience. The waitress was great. There was no wait. The atmosphere was fun.

Disclaimer: I did not try the oysters. Everyone raves about them and I can't defend or deny their deliciousness. However, I did try just about everything else. The gumbo was disappointing, red beans and rice was underwhelming and the wife's salad was average at best. The jambalaya was easily the tastiest dish on the table and the Boo Fries were well done. The ambiance is cool I guess and the wait staff was more interested in socializing than serving. All in all, Acme should be reserved for oysters (so I hear) and little else. Overpriced and forgettable. I will not be returning.
You MUST try the Chargrilled Oysters if you come here. I'm not the biggest Oyster fan, but Acme's Chargrilled Oysters are out of control. Everyone in my group enjoyed their dinners, but I LOVED mine. The atmosphere of the restaurant is why it did not receive a higher rating. The tables and chairs weren't very comfortable to sit on/around. And the restaurant reminded me more of a diner than a restaurant.

Went here a few months ago for the second time, while at Sandestin. The food was great nice size portions. The only complaint would be the night we went there was a bit of a wait. I would definitely recommend going 20+ minutes before you actually want to eat if it's on the weekend. Staff was great. I'd go back next time I go to Sandestin.

Spending time relaxing on the beach can be exhausting. I had been doing my best to not make throwing around the Frisbee and sleeping on the beach turn into an all day event. Guess what i failed! So after a full day of being lazy, what better to end the day than some good old fashion comfort food. San Destin may not exactly be foodie central or anything but seafood always has the potential to be good. We rolled in and decided to start of slow. Some raw oysters AND some grilled oysters AKA best of both worlds. The raw oysters were good and thr grilled oysters actually surprised me very tasty. Now time of or some main courses. Red Beans and Rice with Sausage and then a shrimp poboy. The red beans and rice wasn't all that impressive but the sausage was delicious. The seafood poboy while not quite being Louisiana quality, still satisfied the desire fo seafood and bread served together. All in all a good experience and really hot the spot for comfort food. I would recommend this place if you need a break from the beach.

Try the chargrilled oysters. Yummy. We had 30 minutes wait line but food was nice. Baytown Wharf is a good place to spend the evening

I normally go to the one in New Orleans every time I am there. This was our first time in Destin and I had to go. It was just as good as the one in New Orleans. The oysters are a must and the crab fingers too.

Delicious food! We ordered the chargrilled oysters and they were delicious but small. A dozen is $20.99. We also ordered the appetizer crab cake and it was great. I'm prepared to go back, just might order a platter for more food.

Food was very forgettable and overpriced!! I had the shrimp salad, only iceberg lettuce:-0 I rather make my own salad at home w/ healthier mixed greens and more vegetables!!! Good location

Pretty good, it's not as good as the one in the French quarter but that's only because they didn't have the same options and really isn't their fault

The service wasn't great and most of the food was forgettable. The chargrilled oysters were the only thing on the table I really liked. I got a half dozen raw ones for myself and the size of them was nice but the cocktail sauce was so incredibly hot from the horseradish that it literally felt like a punch in the face and I love horseradish... My family of 5 was also seated at two tables directly in front of the kitchen and my grandmother slipped and fell on the wet floor... one of the servers just stared and didn't even bother to help get her up.. I couldn't get to her fast enough. So disappointed in most everything. Won't be back.

Possibly the worst tasting oyster dinner I've ever had. The oysters were so heavily breaded I had to peel off the breading to taste the oyster. If oysters weren't in the name I probably would have had a different expectation of this place. I will not be back. And the servers were all standing around talking before greeting my table, like I was really inconveniencing them.

I'm a huge Acme fan. Just order oysters of any kind, soft shell crab, or red beans and rice and it will be in your top 10 best. I guarantee! Venture off these recommendations and it begins to get sketchy. It's called ACME Oyster House for a reason! Service here is what you would expect of any popular vacation hot spot...slightly unreliable depending on the season. This ACME is significantly better than the Gulf Shores establishment. Mainly due to there ability to replicate their original New Orleans feel and service. We love this place and will always frequent ACME regardless. Family tradition...frankly best raw oysters anywhere.

Every time we visit Sandestin, we make it a point to eat (at least once) at Acme Oyster House. We have had the po-boys and the red beans. Truthfully, they are good, but I have had better. Now, the oysters? This is where this place really shines. We can go through dozens of their grilled oysters. They are really excellent AND decadant with the butter and Parmesan. Makes me salivate just thinking about them!

Baytown Wharf is an upscale entertainment area close to Destin, FL. It's got novelty shops, restaurants, bars, and houses Acme along with a good NOLA atmosphere (Think Bourbon street but family fun style). The wait time was extensive that night so we went across the street to Fat Tuesdays to get our drink on while we wait. I was craving dem oysters, so we started off with the char-grilled oyster appetizer. Good, but not the best. I would still take Dragos over Acme. Prices are straight robbery. $15 for a dozen raw is a felony. $20 for grilled requires prison time. For the entree I ordered the seafood etouffee and added in some crayfish tails. The roux was flavorful, but quantity wise it was lacking. The others in our party ordered gumbo, crab claws, andouille sausage and red beans and rice. Pretty average, nothing newsworthy to report. Not to be outdone by the mothership Oyster House in NOLA, but still a good place to get your fix while in Florida. Good food, prices high, u get what you pay for. Quick Tip: They charge a resort fee along with the bill. $3 was added on with the food and service. Tourist trap.

After terrible traffic prevented us to going to our originally planned dinner establishment, we decided to try the Acme Oyster House since we were meeting friends in Baytowne Wharf afterwards anyway. What an incredible disappointment. At least the wait went by relatively quickly and being in such a great location, we passed the time easily. Our party of six was seated inside where I promptly had to move seats to avoid being dripped on all night by the AC vent directly overhead. I ordered a pear margarita that I maybe maybe a 1/3 of. It just wasn't good and I hated to waste the calories. Several in our group ordered oysters and I had fried crawfish tails as an appetizer. The crawfish was good; the oysters were proclaimed a 7 or 8 out of 10 but didn't touch others eaten on this trip elsewhere. One big note: the creamy horseradish was so strong, it was inedible. And we're a group that loves horseradish so that's really saying something. Our eyes were watering and sinuses burning. I get that's part of horseradish deal but to this degree was a bit much. For dinner, I ordered the red beans and rice and was looking forward to it. Never have I had this dish and it be anything but extremely flavorful with a little kick. Here, it was tasteless. Not BAD just...no taste at all. The beans and rice were served on a plate with two links of sausage on top that had to be cut up. The only thing with any taste was the sausage and even that was not spicy in the slightest. I think of good New Orleans food having a little zip but this was zipless. Maybe I should have added horseradish. ;-) My hub had the fried seafood platter than he said was so heavily breaded, all you tasted was cornmeal. A good fried fish or seafood has a nice understanding between the main star and its sidekick coating. This was way off. All in all, every dish at the table in our group was proclaimed just Meh. Too many other fantastic places to eat in Destin to bother with this so-so joint. Try Boshamps in Destin for the absolute best dinner you'll have while in the area (including raw oysters rated a 10 out of 10).

We just stopped in for the oysters. We heard the grilled oysters we the bomb! They were good, no doubt. We didn't stay for dinner so I cannot comment on the rest. Good service. Pleasant atmosphere.

We LOVE Acme! It's been our "first night stop" for a while and it never disappoints. I get a dozen raw oysters, the hubby gets a dozen chargrilled (we share) and we usually split the roast beef po boy sandwich. Add a couple cold beers each and all is good!!! We've had the bread pudding too and its pretty good as well! If it's just the two of us, we like to cozy up to the bar as well. (As other reviewers have said too, I do find the prices a little high, but hey, you are on vacation!) Enjoy!!

Fair...but a seafood disappointment. You can get the same quality anywhere in the country. The reception folks are robotic, the wait staff indifferent, you have to ask for the simplest condiments, the portions of shrimp dwarfed by slabs of fried fish, and the beer and drink options are pathetic...all awaiting you at resort prices. Won't be going back to the wharf area at Sandestin!

10 napkin roost beef more like 5 napkin roost beef and it does not come with a side of anything

Red beans and rice was more like brown slop beans and rice. Hands down worst red beans and rice I've ever had. I honestly think they topped the rice with bush's baked beans. Don't order this. I'd give this dish 1 star but since the service was great I'm giving it an overall 3.

We stopped in just for a couple dozen raw oysters and a drink. Atmosphere was nice, but tightly packed. Staff was friendly. Oysters were cold and tasty. Unlike the NOLA location, we didn't feel like cattle being hustled in and out to make room for other customers. Only complaints are beer selection and price. I ended up getting a $4 Bud because their selection was just awful and, for some reason, piss beer goes OK with oysters. We walked out the door spending about $55 for 2 dozen oysters, a cocktail, a Bud, and tip. That's ridiculous, imo. I guess that's the price you pay in tourist country.

Great New Orleans style eatery in Baytowne Village. I'm not a big Po Boy fan but the fried shrimp one was great. Really nice lively atmosphere and friendly staff.

The chargrilled oysters were phenomenal. They even gave us extra for free. We also had multiple po boys and the New Orleans medley. We enjoyed everything.

To much fried food, the Gumbo was weak at best and the fried shrimp was not very taste . In addition the crab cake was very poor and if it had crab meat in it I didn't see any. Just a okay place if everything else is closed.

Solid place. First joint my wife and I hit up when in Destin. Abita Purple Haze on tap and excellent food - what more can one ask for.

We dined at the Acme Oyster House last night. While the place was packed, the service was prompt and the food was first rate. We mostly had oysters, both raw and broiled with garlic and butter. The broiled ones were to die for. They were served with traditional New Orleans bread that was quite tasty as well. This spot is fine for families and large groups.

The char grilled oysters are very reminiscent of steamed muscles and SO FREAKIN GOOD!!! The jumbalaya had rice that was overcooked but the side of sausage I had was just perfectly grilled and I loved the flavor. The place was pretty crowded on a Sunday night which is usually a good sign. My wife's Oyster Rockefellar soup was excellant and the hush puppies were cooked perfectly. Look forward to trying this place out again in the future!!

We were staying at the Sandestin resort area so Baytowne Wharf was an easy walk. It was a Friday night and February which I know is not high season but the entire area was dead. After browsing menus and deciding we wanted oysters we ended up here. It was the only place that actually looked crowded. We got the regular oysters (we want to come back to get the ones with the cheese but didn't have time!) and they were so good. They were huge and their cocktail sauce they make was great, definitely heavier on the horseradish as opposed to ketchup. I had the red beans and rice with the grilled smoked sausage. It was surprisingly good. We asked where they got the sausage and she wasn't sure of the brand as they said they bring ALL their food in from Louisiana so all the locations get the same quality food. Service was decent. I would definitely recommend it if you like oysters (and they are in season) or Cajun food in general!

alright peoples on the day we visited... The staff was friendly. Can't give too much of an opinion for the entire menu since we didn't have much time, but the only thing that made an impression regarding the food were the Chargrilled Oysters!! I'm not an Oyster fan and can't do them raw and if there was any way to eat them this is exactly how I would have it!! Pertty freakin awesome with a nice glass of cold adult beverage on tap... Nice atmosphere for family in general but with kids I was on edge cuz of smokers and somewhat loud and obnoxious patrons, but it is a family party atmosphere so it is what you get I suppose... :-)

Great food. It was my first time at ACME oyster bar and my first experience with a chargrilled oyster. Delicious! An ACME regular and New Orleans native recommended I order them without butter and to have them add chipotle sauce. It was delicious and will now be the only way I order chargrilled oysters! Next stop, NOLA!

Chargrilled oysters were recommended by the server and he was absolutely right, they had amazing flavors even a non-oyster person got to enjoy one and agreed! This place has always had a wait each time I've been here, so definitely expect a 30-45 min wait during dinner time. They have seating upstairs and some outside but the space is still small. It is also very crowded since the tables are very close to one another and the main dining area is narrow, but the food is good. The appetizer beef fries were just so good. It was dripping with beef flavor and cheese so don't leave any drop back when you order this baby. The VooDoo bloody mary is a must as well. Big glass of bloody mix, pickled green bean and olives...hmmm yummy.

Nicely done. Fresh seafood and huge portions. Grilled oysters are pricey but outstanding! Grouper platter and po boy are large.

I arrived in town late and finally got to Acme 30 minutes before they were scheduled to close. (10PM) The service at the bar was great as usual, I wasn't rushed and I had a dozen oysters raw and a dozen grilled. Both were very good. I would visit more often but I really would like avoid the Baytown crowd getting in and out of Sandestin.
Even though we try to avoid chains when traveling; we do not have a an Acme Oyster anywhere near us. Great gumbo, shrimp and oyster po boy, soft shell crab po boy and fried oysters. This was our second time here. We will go back. Prices are reasonable.

Sub par. $100 down the drain. Water patron margaritas, sticky tables, service, just kinda gross..try something else. Felt ripped off. Destin location you need chef Ramsay to come let you know what's up

I didn't have any complaints! The shuckers told me the oysters were from Galveston Bay (Texas), and I suspect the source changes depending on the supply at the given time of the year. Gulf oysters are their best in months that contain an "r". I was offered a couple of raw samples while watching them shuck at the bar. They were just the right size, and as Zimmerman might say "they have this wonderful fresh and briny flavor of the gulf". We had the Char-grilled Oysters as an appetizer. These rock the house! I need to add these to my "last meal on earth" list. For dinner, our family of four shared the fried seafood platter for two. It's called the "Captain Mike's Fried Platter for two". Catfish, stuffed crab, oysters, shrimp, and crawfish. It is served with french fries, hush puppies, and includes a side of coleslaw slaw. Check out my picture. Everything was good and there was plenty of food for everyone (two adults, two teenagers - good eaters). The only criticisms and this is really being picky: the stuffed crab had some shells, the fried catfish didn't have much flavor, and the cocktail sauce had too much horseradish for our taste.

Overpriced, tourist trap, terrible gumbo. Go to the location in Baton Rouge. Only gave the stars for our server who was nice and helpful.

No matter what city I'm in, I always enjoy ACME. They miss the target on some things, sure. But the chargrilled oysters are ridiculously good. Always good for a group and never mind when we get a little rowdy.

Basically after we all ate we said we'd never want to come back. Not one complained but no one was excited, satisfied or impressed. Everyone got something different, an order of Oysters, Soft Shelled Crab, Fried Oysters and Shrimp, Jambalaya and A Tomatoey-Shrimp Dish. Nothing stood out and I can't even remember what my Jambalaya tasted like. Our waiter was rushed, and again, unmemorable just like the food. I now realize I don't like fresh oysters, but fried they aren't bad.

We had stopped by for oyster shooters earlier this week. Both visits the staff was wonderful. My husband and I shared the fried peace maker po boy with oysters on the half shell. All delicious (huge portion). The only thing this place is missing is a Husker flag on the celling.
Came with a party of 14, the hostess was visibly upset that we had 14 people that would require tables to be joined. The manager came out and made it happen. The service was very unorganized. Our waitress was a sweetheart, but after getting the wrong food delivered it became a downhill slide. After a 15 minute wait again, without food, mine was finally delivered. A grilled shrimp Po Boy that was completely inedible, yes that nasty and this coming from a person that will eat just about everything. The "Charrrrred Grilled" Oysters were more like black rubber. After everyone was finally finished I was awarded my $500+ bill complete with 20% gratuity. Once the last person went through the door it was promptly labeled with a closed sign for the night. First and last time here!

This place knows how to cook fish. Also the crayfish looked good and large, but I didn't personally have it. The drum fish was grilled perfectly. And the service was on point. It was a little loud, has a lively vibe, and the oyster shucker was very entertaining. The bread pudding and pecan pie were awesome and I don't even have a sweet tooth! If you are staying at the sandestin this place is not to miss.

Very good experience at Acme! I was craving oysters, so we started off with the Chargrilled Oyster appetizer. They were excellent!! If I wasn't starving then I could've stopped their. My boyfriend started off with the seafood gumbo and the Boo fries. The seafood gumbo was pretty good! However, the Boo fries were nothing special. Fries, unseasoned gravy and cheese. But they're worth a try. For dinner I ordered the fried shrimp and oyster platter. Very good and very reasonable portions for the price. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp platter. While the shrimp were delicious, this meal was a bit overpriced for the amount of shrimp that he received. We were glad that we started with appetizers or we would have been highly disappointed. Great food, touristy prices, but you pay for the experience!

Good service, good food. I am a fan the roasted oysters, but felt the gumbo was a little bland. The fried shrimp were also good. Very good experience; I would go back.

If you're only going to remember one thing from my review, it has to be chargrilled oysters! They were delicious. The garlic, cheesy buttery sauce cooked with oysters were heavenly!! The sauce might be a heart attack waiting to happen but it is so good that I needed more garlic bread to soak it up with! The oysters itself were tasty but kind of small. Dallas does not have any places that offer chargrilled oysters like this and it's a shame. The sauce is something special. I will definitely be back here or to one of its sister locations in Louisiana if I ever have the chance. I do still prefer eating fresh raw oysters on the half shell with a little bit of lemon juice and Tabasco sauce on top because you can taste the oyster itself, especially when they're big, in season, and cleaned properly.

5 stars because the oysters were so fresh and slid down your throat like a yummy wad of mucous. Their dirty martini was bomb too, made me feel dirty. Didn't try anything else so there ya be!
(5)

Waiting area is terrible and hostess is unhelpful. Wine is served in plastic cups while you wait. The wait area is basically nonexistent. The plan for the restaurant has changed in terms of organization, menu and seating. I liked the previous plan better. The food was okay. Rice balls are great but not as many choices as before. Our server was good and prompted me to change the one star to a two star.
(2)
R. W.
The grilled shrimp with mushrooms and onions were out of this world good! They had such a good chargrilled flavor. The oysters were fresh. The fried oysters and fried shrimp were not greasy and paired well with the sweet potato fries. Highlight would still have to be the grilled shrimp. Those alone would justify a five star rating! The place can fill up fast, so be prepared for a wait if you have a party of 5 or more!

I agree with everyone else. Best chargrilled oysters I've ever had. The shrimp po boy was on point also.

(3)Stephanie F.
(5)Andrew W.
(4)Kathy L.
Service was great and the shrimp was fried to perfection. A bit overpriced but I was willing to pay for the convenient proximity to our condo. Had the hush puppies not been such a disappointment I would have given it five stars.
(4)David G.
(2)Curtis B.
Nice casual place. Service was quick and great people watching on the plaza area. Food was good as well
(3)Travis D.
(3)Elmer E H.
Awesome. I think I are the biggest saltiest Texas (area 20) oyster ever. Definitely my favorite seafood experience in Destin and some awesome staff at Acme. Thanks for a great experience!!!
(5)Audrey K.
(5)Monica B.
(4)Nym N.
This place needs to put more quality ingredients into their dishes. The seafood étouffée I ordered barely had any seafood in it. So it was basically soup and some rice.
(2)John W.
We had lunch there and I got the Smoked Sausage Po Boy and Fries. Very good food and atmosphere.Makes you wish you were in New Orleans!
(4)John A.
(1)Samantha M.
Being that I've eaten at 4 other Acme locations, this one only gets 2 stars because it's the worst location I've eaten at. With that being said, the food isn't bad, it's just mediocre. Just don't go in expecting a New Orleans/Louisiana-level experience.
(2)Jennifer I.
(2)Ben A.
Awesome oysters and crawfish! Super friendly oyster shucker. We will be back next time we are in the area. I would def recommend it to anyone in the area
(5)Brannon B.
The service was really good! We had the David's dinner for 2. It was very plentiful. Also, the food was really good. Would return
(4)Dale R.
Good family place, awesome po-boys and nice prices for what you get. Usually crowded at peak times so be prepared. Typical NOLA style.
(4)Leighanne C.
Great raw oysters. Peace maker Po Boy was also good. Cocktail sauce was excellent- lots of horseradish just the way I like it!
(4)Kayla T.
Loved it.
(4)Nancy C.
(1)Nathan G.
the boiled shrimp appetizer was great...really good local caught shrimp. However, when the rest of our food showed up...SHOCKER, it was all imported stuff I could have bought at Publix. seriously...market prices for frozen shrimp and oysters from a bag...yuck. Too expensive for mediocre food.
(2)Kat L.
Banging Jambalaya with no seafood to kill this kitty. Loved it. minus one star for the smallest piece of pecan pie ever for $6. Seriously, my hair brush is bigger than this slice.
(4)Boe B.
Had the charbroiled oysters if you like oysters you have to have these they are great! Also the gumbo was awesome as well
(5)Michele B.
Best oysters, anywhere! Happy to stumble upon this after having a great meal at their NOLA location a few years back. Char grilled oysters, along with fried oysters and fish were excellent, and plentiful. Such a family fav, we went twice in three days.
(5)A O.
Been to the one in New Orleans and went to this one to have the chargrilled oysters. But they were exceptionally small!! Very disappointed. Also had the fresh fish po boy which was mahi. That was just ok as well. But i would not go back here based on this experience and high prices.
(3)Jon V.
Acme Oyster House in Destin? Yes, please. I'm a big cajun food fan. Oysters were big and tasty. Gumbo was a little bland but I like mine extra spicy. Étouffée was nice and creamy with a little kick. Sea food po boy was right on the money. Oysters and shrimp were crispy and not soggy. And they had Abita amber and turbodog in the bottle. Service was quick and gave great recommendations. The only reason why they didn't get that fifth star is there was no Texas A&M flag on the ceiling but there was plenty of other SEC schools. No flag, no 5-star.
(4)Tori W.
(5)Erin E.
(3)Charlie C.
Oysters are a must, their seafood it's fresh and delicious. Fantastic and friendly staff
(5)Mimi B.
Been here numerous times - it's a must every time we visit Sandestin. This last visit on 5/22/14 gets only 3 stars because of the service. We sat inside, but our waiter had tables outside so was not around much. We had to wait on him quite often. Food was good though.
(3)Bonnie B.
Great place for oysters if you are staying in SanDestin Resort & do not want to leave the property. We tried the char grilled for the 1st time and LOVED the flavor!! We continue to visit Acme year after year! Friendly hostess too!!
(3)Adam C.

(3)Pancho V.
Go here for oysters and you will leave very happy. The char-grilled are OUT OF THIS WORLD! If you are looking for something other than oysters...go somewhere else!
(5)Gordon G.
(2)Antony C.
(3)Kristy M.
The best choice in the area for raw oysters! It was just like the Acme in New Orleans, which is exactly what we hoped for. The po boys were also on par, lightly battered and seasoned just right. I will definitely be back when I am in the area!
(4)Julie A.
(5)Carly B.
The grilled oysters were SOOOO good. The raw were excellent as well, as were the sweet potato fries. Everything else was just fine, but not amazing.
(3)Billy B.
Horrible. Avoid. Unpleasant waitress. Expensive. Oysters from San Antonio TX. No excuse for that when Apalachicola just along the road from Destin. Pre-shucked, not cold. Caters for conference crowd and tourists.
(1)Lisa M.
(5)Karen O.
(4)Lyle F.
Pricy lunch for 2. Average at best service. Pre-shucked oysters, dirty dishes and little followup service.
(2)Garry M.
Great grilled oysters!
(4)Mack L.
(4)Will W.
Delicious chargrilled oysters. Fried shrimp were good. I didn't care for the grilled shrimp.
(3)Albert P.

(2)Rick C.
(4)Cheryl T.
(3)Robert D.
Grilled oysters very good. Hushpuppies were terrible little dough rocks. Fried shrimp good.
(2)Tony R.
(2)Jessica W.
(3)Molly P.
(3)Antony D.
Grilled oysters! It's not New Orleans but you probably new that before you walked in the door.
(4)Katie K.
this is not my favorite place to just go eat instead my family and I like to go in the afternoon and just get some oysters to snack on! I really like the oysters because they do not taste fishy they are fresh and great location in Baytowne wharf perfect for kids or adults
(3)David H.
Not as good as New Orleans, but good.
(3)Michael M.
A tourist trap at its finest. The lunch we had could of been topped by Long John Silvers at 1/16th the price. Avoid if you would like to taste better food from the area.
(2)Paul D.
Enjoy.
(4)Jay J.
I'm bumping up Acme. One of the better places to go for oysters, and the atmosphere in Baytowne is festive and fun. We like taking our guests here, sitting outside and enjoying a few orders of chargrilled oysters and some Abitas!
(4)Molly F.
Enjoyed our dinner here! We had the chargrilled oysters, jambalaya, and a fried crawfish po-boy. Service was really quick. We sat outside upstairs and loved the view.
(4)Shelly M.
(4)Erin W.
(4)Jackie A.
(3)Katie H.
(4)Brian B.
(3)Edwin P.
The food was amazing! The chargrilled oysters are the best I have ever had!! We ate here several times while on vacation and each day tried different meals. Everything I ate tasted great. During the vacation/trip, we ate the following: Seafood gumbo, Fried Crawfish Tails, Boom Boom Shrimp, Crab Cake with Corn Maque Choux, Seafood Gumbo, Oyster Rockefeller Soup, Seafood Étouffée, Red Beans & Rice, Jambalaya, Grilled Marinated Shrimp Platter, Grilled Fish of the Day Platter. For dessert we had their New Orleans Bread Pudding w/ Whiskey Sauce and Max's Bananas Foster Pie. Their desserts were phenomenal. The waitresses are very friendly and helpful. Leroy and Scotty are the gentlemen who normally prepare and cook the oysters, and they do an outstanding job. Because the restaurant is so popular, you may have to wait for a little bit before you can get a table. However, if you don't mind not eating at the table, you can go to the bar (upstairs or downstairs) and still order food from the menu and eat your meal. This was the best part of our experience because we were able to avoid the long lines, eat a plethora of food, and really get to know the staff. We'll definitely be back!

Chargrilled oysters are outstanding! Service- very good service, waitress was helpful with the questions we had about the menu, she was pleasant as well Decor- not fancy but cool stuff on the walls to enhance the environment Food- everything was tasty from the chargrilled oysters to the crawfish and seafood étouffée. The sweet tea complimented everything I had in a refreshing way. I also had grilled amberjack and sweet potato fries. The amberjack was a damn good piece of fish. I'll tell Ya man, it was a fresh-tasting meaty fish with some fantastic grill marks as well. Recommended for the whole family.
(4)Vickie J.
(4)Jean B.
(5)Oremo O.
(3)Yavuz Ç.
Try the chargrilled oysters. Yummy. We had 30 minutes wait line but food was nice. Baytown Wharf is a good place to spend the evening
(5)Gery W.
I normally go to the one in New Orleans every time I am there. This was our first time in Destin and I had to go. It was just as good as the one in New Orleans. The oysters are a must and the crab fingers too.
(5)Rebecca S.
Delicious food! We ordered the chargrilled oysters and they were delicious but small. A dozen is $20.99. We also ordered the appetizer crab cake and it was great. I'm prepared to go back, just might order a platter for more food.
(4)Merari C.
Food was very forgettable and overpriced!! I had the shrimp salad, only iceberg lettuce:-0 I rather make my own salad at home w/ healthier mixed greens and more vegetables!!! Good location
(2)Alix Q.
Pretty good, it's not as good as the one in the French quarter but that's only because they didn't have the same options and really isn't their fault
(4)Brooke S.
(2)Lane M.
(2)Benjamin R.
(5)Donald O.
(4)Joshua W.
(3)Megan H.
(2)Holly N.
We just stopped in for the oysters. We heard the grilled oysters we the bomb! They were good, no doubt. We didn't stay for dinner so I cannot comment on the rest. Good service. Pleasant atmosphere.
(4)Karyn A.
(5)Don A.
(1)Alfred R.
10 napkin roost beef more like 5 napkin roost beef and it does not come with a side of anything
(4)Elizabeth F.
Red beans and rice was more like brown slop beans and rice. Hands down worst red beans and rice I've ever had. I honestly think they topped the rice with bush's baked beans. Don't order this. I'd give this dish 1 star but since the service was great I'm giving it an overall 3.
(3)Eric C.
(4)Matthew F.
Great New Orleans style eatery in Baytowne Village. I'm not a big Po Boy fan but the fried shrimp one was great. Really nice lively atmosphere and friendly staff.
(4)Greg B.
The chargrilled oysters were phenomenal. They even gave us extra for free. We also had multiple po boys and the New Orleans medley. We enjoyed everything.
(5)Bob H.
To much fried food, the Gumbo was weak at best and the fried shrimp was not very taste . In addition the crab cake was very poor and if it had crab meat in it I didn't see any. Just a okay place if everything else is closed.
(2)Bill B.
Solid place. First joint my wife and I hit up when in Destin. Abita Purple Haze on tap and excellent food - what more can one ask for.
(5)Tom K.
(4)David P.
(4)Jeannine W.
(4)P34 W.
alright peoples on the day we visited... :-)
(4)Lauren K.
(5)Hong N.
(4)J G.
Nicely done. Fresh seafood and huge portions. Grilled oysters are pricey but outstanding! Grouper platter and po boy are large.
(4)Joe L.

When you first walk in, you notice a non professional staff with cheap and old tables and chairs and a lack of organization. there are many kitchen things that should be kept hidden that are stored visibly and very unorganized. When we did arrive to our table, the table and chairs again were cheap and old; the chairs had sauces spilt on them that were not cleaned so we had to clean them ourselves. The prices were very high considering how cheap the place looked. averaging almost 18 dollars a person. A bright spot in the experience was actually the food itself, tasty and well seasoned. However, the first things we ordered (crab cakes) they were out of so we had to settle for something else. When asked questions, the staff was not very knowledgable of the menu and seemed to lack confidence. My main entree was an étouffée which was delicious however the portions were very small even though I ordered the 20 dollar "large". Afterwards I had to order more food spending almost 25 dollars! Bottom Line: Pros -Food was tasty and cooked well -Flat screen TVs for entertainment -Drinks were refilled appropriately Cons -Poor atmosphere that seemed unorganized -Cheap tables and chairs and kind of dirty -Very expensive prices -Small portions although some people in my party had regular portions on their entrees -Unknowledgeable staff that had trouble telling me their 5 appetizers by memory -Overall a 9 dollar per person experience for a 15+ dollar one instead.

We didn't like it. My husband tried the oyster appetizer, and that was ok. Everything else was not so good. My husband got the étouffée, which he has had at many other restaurants, and this was not good at all. I ordered the crab cakes, and they were pretty bad. They have a thick, fried coating. Inside was all breading - hardly any crab to be found. The fries cole slaw were ok. The service and atmosphere were very nice, so at least that was good.

Food was very good. Chargrilled oysters were delicious! Slightly over priced though!!
