My wife and I were in need of a break from the hustle and bustle of Orlando. Since we are fans of a Bed & Breakfast, we looked up some places in St. Petersburg to see who had a room available on short notice. Yes... We are notorious for just making last minute plans on the spur of the moment... We called and they had one room left so we quickly booked the room. The staff was very friendly and quite personable so we had a feeling we made a good choice. After a 2 hour drive and a lunch stop that was not as wonderful as we expected, we came to check in. When I was getting out the bag out of the trunk, we were greeted by name. I was surprised by that but in a good way. We got settled in and our room was very charming. Yes... I took pictures... After that we took a stroll around and I took more pictures... This place was just the kind of place I love to find when traveling. The next morning there was coffee waiting for us on the porch but the mosquitoes chased us inside. It's the rainy season in Florida so we were not surprised by that one bit. It was disappointing because the porch has a "Florida Feel" to it. Breakfast was simple and but delicious. I am not a huge breakfast person so as long as I have some good coffee, the rest is not a big deal to me. The staff did go out of their way to make you feel right at home. I also made a couple of furry friends... If you are a Bed & Breakfast lover as we are... You will LOVE this place!!!

We had just moved to St Petersburg and because of some work being done on our home needed to find a place to stay for a couple of days that was nice and would allow our small dog to stay with us. If you want a unique, beautiful and dog friendly hotel that is within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants & beac, LA Veranda is your place! The atmosphere is friendly and the rooms are incredibly beautiful. I have stayed regularly in 5 star hotels and would put this B&B at the top of my list! I appreciate the comfortable rooms, the serene grounds and the very sweet and personable proprietors. I am very aware that my little Maltese has a shrill bark and although he is not a yapper, he will bark if he hears something unfamiliar or more often if he is excited to see someone or something he likes. He went wild when he saw Nancy walking up the porch stairs! I was horrified that he barked. Regardless that it was because he was excited and happy to see her, it's still a bark. Nancy was so sweet and didn't so much as look irritated about it. She greeted him and pet him. Both she and her husband are very genuine and sweet natured. I love that the have their cats roaming the grounds of the hotel. The cats are adorable! When we have friends and family visiting, this is where I will have them stay! There is nothing not to like about this beautiful B&B!!!

I had the great pleasure of staying here in May earlier this year. The proprietor, Nancy, was friendly and helpful. She let me know there is a courtesy fridge for guests. She clued me in to a nice local place to eat. The room was clean, comfortable, and lovely. I could have stayed at a local motel for the same price, but why on Earth would I?? Cool house and breakfast included? Absolutely would come here again! :) Breakfast was simple but tasty, and I definitely would not have had the same experience staying at a chain motel.

This is our third of many more stays at La Veranda B&B. Perfect location, hosts, and the beds are so comfy. Breakfast is different everyday. The comfort and relaxation index is 10. The spacious Veranda is adorned with antiques, floor lamps, wind chimes plenty of tables, chairs and rockers. A great place to have friends congregate for evening beverages. The surrounding gardens are lush and pleasant. A short walk puts you at water's edge in downtown St. Petersburg. We typically stay 4 nights and always wish it was 5.

Absolute loved this B&B! I had a conference at St. Petersburg at a hotel nearby (sorry forgot the name). This was my first time staying at any B&B and this was definitely the perfect experience. My room was quaint and homey... I felt like I was staying at a relatives home the whole time. You aren't staying at a 5 star hotel... so just remember that. The furniture and bathrooms were a bit outdated, but NOT a deal breaker. I must say the bed, pillows and comforters were very yummy!!! If I didn't make friends with the Inn Keeper, yes I admit... I would have taken those pillows!!!! So the Inn Keeper, Nancy was extremely friendly and made some DELICIOUS breakfast (unfortunately only able to taste it one night) . They cook homemade breakfast daily and have coffee out on the porch all day. The B&B is within walking distance from the pier and downtown St. Pete... I never had to use my car and walked everywhere I needed to go. They have a beautiful garden throughout the Inn and lounging chairs to relax. I sat out for a bit, but did get attacked by our lovely Florida mosquitoes. UGH can't get away from them. La Veranda is definitely a wonderful B&B... Will be returning here next time I'm in St. Pete

I have to say for my first bed and breakfast experience this place deserves 5 stars. It is located perfectly in downtown St Petersburg. It is literally about a minute from restaurants and shops. The bedroom we got which was me, my husband and two kids was perfect. It was clean and well kept. Had air conditioner and ceiling fan. And of course Nancy the owner is such a nice lady. We had a continental breakfast, coffee, tea and juices. Would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in Feb. 2015. Here's what we liked: breakfasts were excellent, there is a nice bathrobe in each room, the building has lovely porches, nice interior decor, nice landscaped grounds, great location, and the cats are fun to have around. Here's what we did not like. First, the Cinnabar Suite that we stayed in is not a suite because it is one normal- sized room plus bathroom. I expected two rooms (a suite!). Second, when we arrived in our room, a portable heater had been left on, making the room super-hot. Then I realized that the windows in the room are painted shut and do not open. My "first impressions" were very bad. The owner apologized, said she will try to check the rooms more carefully in the future, and blamed it on the maid. The next day when there was a vacancy at the inn, the owner offered to move us to a different room. By then I knew to keep the heater off and I did not want to bother with making a move. (Note: there is a window unit air conditioner in the room). Finally, the TV is an older one, not flat panel, and the wifi is slow. Overall our stay was okay, but it is not a good value and I would not choose this place again.

It was our first time in St Pete & just love the ambience in bnbs and this one was no exception. The suite was charming & eclectic. The king size bed was comfy & in a good size room. Nancy was lovely. She helped us get to Tropicana field & chatted with us during our breakfast. I'd definitely recommend it! We give it an enthusiastic 5 stars.

We love this place and stay here for a few days every March! The rooms are cozy and comfortable and breakfast is delicious. There are wraparound porches on both floors and a lovely garden, plenty of places to relax and enjoy the weather. The innkeeper is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and makes you feel very welcome. This place is walking distance to downtown St. Petersburg, many good restaurants, the bay, museums and shops. We like to leave our car and walk to as many places as we can. When the weather is nice you can even have breakfast on the veranda!

Will never visit again. This is my first BnB experience and it definitely ruined it for me. The innkeeper was rude, disrespectful, and mean to her guests. She need to change her business track to something not so customer oriented.
