Good atmosphere with a view of the marina. A fiddler crab was climbing up the screen outside. Food was delicious. Waitress could have been a little friendlier. Overall a pleasant experience for the evening getaway.

I simply LOVE this place! Been here several times! It has become my favorite place to eat! Alittle on the pricey side, but I totally don't mind paying an extra dollar, when you get outstanding food, A lovely view, & a super high class feel! Thank you to the owners for bring something so wonderful to Wakulla, because for myself.... there was no where "nice" to eat in this area! Some people have complained about the nats, but they do provide indoor seating (or bring some bug spray). Some people have complained about having to wait for a table on the weekend nights.... But hey.... If you go to Tally, you will absolutely have to wait to get a table at prime time dinner time! I say BRAVO! Job well done guys! & what great cooks you hired! I will see you again soon!

I badly want this place to be good. The view and the location are perfect. The food used to be good, but after the management training team left, it's been going downhill. The service leaves much room for improvement. The servers and bartenders need to learn the bar and menu. Never a good sign when you order back to back drinks and the recipe is completely different.

The food was good. But the service was the low point. Go for the fish tacos - they rocked. Bar service was awful- didn't know how to make their own signature drinks. Food took time and our waitress disappeared during the meal. It's your call on this one. I would return for the food and view, but I wish they would improve one the staff skills

Second time visiting over a short weekend vacation trip to the beach. The waitress was very slow. Every time she came by the table she had an excuse why it took her so long. The restaurant was less that half full. She got our drink order kinda quick. When we were ready for our entree order it took a while. When the food finally came most of the food was cold. The fries were hot though. We asked for a screw driver drink and the bar tender asked why we needed a screw driver.

This is exactly what we were looking for. This location has been a couple other restaurants over the past years. The new owners really spent some $ to revamp the place. The deck/tiki bar was awesome! Great bar with a good selection of beers and some creative house drinks (beware of the spiked cherries). I think the best thing we has was the crab cakes. Mostly meat with just enough bread to hold it together (barely). They were great. Our waitress, Dee, couldn't have been any nicer. She was great. I really hope business remains strong because this is a really cool place.

Great view and alternative to Angelo's. Good food and super service. Service was Much better than larger Angelo's. The waitress was nearby and readily available. Grouper sandwich and oyster stew were tasty. And onions as appetizer were better than expected. The new remodeling looks great. Food is reasonably priced. We will support this place and be back soon!

I wandered in here and it turned out to be day 2 of it's being open after a complete remodel. All of the staff were friendly and eager to please. I was encouraged to sit wherever I wished, even though I was a table of one. This is a nice feature, as sometimes servers hate to see a big table wasted on a one top. I had the pulled pork nachos....they were great! The salsa was fresh and the sour cream was a little peppery. The pork, which was delicious and generous, was great next to the cheese and the salty chips. Keep up the good work!

We go to Mad Anthony's when we want a meal at the Gulf. They had a slow start but have improved in service and food. Tiki hut is beautiful. Worth another visit if you went early on.

Hard to find, but enjoyable experience. Expect a locals waterfront restaurant with plastic chairs but a menu that is more adventurous.

The wife and I hit Mad Tony's for lunch on our drive to the airport. It was a rare cold day in Florida so we ate inside. It is a small room, but it was clean and the furniture comfortable. By the way, what is with all the security cameras? Anyway, we both ordered blackened grouper sandwiches (I think they call them burgers). The wife got the side salad and it was really big for a side. I wished I had ordered one too, I got the coleslaw, which was good size and really good. The grouper was delicious. The best blackened grouper I've ever had. Nice sized pieces of fish, really fresh, and not "overblackened." You could taste the fish. The cook really did a nice job. It was too bad that it was a cool day, because their outdoor seating really looked good. It is like a giant tiki hut that overlooks the water. The service was good and the place was really clean. Needless to say, we'll definitely be back - hopefully on a warmer day. They also have giant TV screens so I would guess this would be a popular hangout for football games. Really a great place, not the usual greasy seafood restaurant that is so common along the panhandle. One drawback is that it is really hard to find. There is a little sign along the highway, but otherwise you have to know it is there. We circled around the town (doesn't take too long in Panacea) and finally came to it. I'm glad we looked for it, highly recommended.

Wonderful location and a perfect place to view the sunset. The outside bar area is a large authentic "tiki" style hut fashioned by local Seminoles- very authentic and beautiful. We ordered the Mediterranean grouper and the swordfish. Both entrees were well prepared, as one would expect in a restaurant so near the water that serves a charming community of fishermen and locals. Service was great. Ask for Dionne at the outside bar. She's a doll!

Not sure if I just went on a bad day or what, based on the other reviews this place should have been good but it was far from it, for an appetizer we got nachos that had a cheese sauce familiar to the cheese sauce at a gas station, for drinks my wife and I got coronaritas that weren't bad but later found out they were $24 a piece which is more then outrageous. For my entree I got a oyster "bucket", which growing up on the gulf I know should mean raw but they came deep fried and gross. Might try it again but due to the high prices and sub par food probably not.

I went to Mad Anthony's Waterfront Grille the past two Saturdays for dinner with my fiance. The Grouper Tacos were to die for and we had Pulled Pork Nachos which were outstanding. There is nothing like fresh grouper! The service was great the first Saturday but this past Saturday they appeared to get slammed all at once by a large crowd of people. Our server advised us that the kitchen was behind and to expect delays as soon as we sat down. She was right - it took about 35-40 minutes for our entree, but with the amazing view, tiki hut and delicious craft beer, we didn't care. It was well worth the wait! We cannot wait to go back again.

Beautiful setting looking out over the water. Food and service were great. Loved that my Yellow lab was welcomed too, and offered a bowl of water. I had some raw oysters. Could have eaten a bushel! They were small but sweet. Oyster stew was a little light on its namesake ingredient but the key lime pie was beautiful and delicious. My friend really liked her fish tacos.

We are locals and have been to this restaurant several times. Normally just for a drink and appetizers in the evening and are usually satisfied. Went there for lunch yesterday with another couple. We love what they have done for the cooler weather, the plastic walls provide protection and yet let you enjoy the ocean view. The staff was quick to provide a heater near our table which the ladies appreciated. Then......ordered lunch, which began with one bowl of French onion soup, which was tasty but pricey for such a small portion and took a long time to arrive. One of our party ordered the oyster stew, which he said was good but again, at $7.95 and with the one oyster who probably died of loneliness, not a good value at all. On top of that, the entrees came within one minute of the soup......arrrrgghhhh! The entrees were good, the scallop basket was exceptional, the oyster basket good too. The nachos were ordered as an entree and came out covered with a cheese (?) the was sort of orange.....looking quite unappetizing. Fish tacos, ordered without cheese, came out with cheese on top and the sweet chili sauce just so-so. We will be back, but only for evening drinks and shrimp.

We've been hoping for an alternative to Posey's in this area, since their food and service has gotten so spotty. (See my updated review.) Saw the sign for Mad Anthony's and took a chance - so glad we did! From what I understand, the restaurant opened April 2014 and did everything wrong - they've been through four chefs and four managers (I think that's right) since. Unfortunately, by opening with horrible food (per the waitress) and bad service (per the manager we spoke with), they'd already lost most of the locals. In fact, a couple I spoke with said they would never go back. They should, if the new chef stays on! Pros: Fabulous onion soup at lunch. Shrimp "basket" was great too - they're fried in some panko mixture; fresh grease, almost as light a taste as Japanese tempura. Burgers are good. Grits and shrimp are better than average and a huge portion. Go for it because of the salsa verde, which is the best I've ever had. Drinks are well-priced and mostly delicious. Portions are solid, service is friendly. I disagree with the previous review about screening in the outdoor area - it would ruin it. Personally, mosquitos love me so I wouldn't sit outside in really warm weather, but the view is wonderful. Pelicans, gulls, harbored boats (and boats out on the harbor!). I wouldn't recommend the pastrami sandwich, but then again, why would you want one here? We saw whole fish at a couple of tables that looked fantastic. The Caeser salad was terrific - the full portion is large enough for two, so we stuck with the half. Our waitress said the dressing was homemade, and I believe it (though I would offer anchoves as a choice - how hard is it to open a can? and they last forever in the cold box.) I have to say, it was nice to see broccoli on a local menu, even if a bit over cooked. A welcome change from overcooked beans, over-sweet slaw, and iceberg lettuce. The oysters were good, though not quite as fresh tasting as Angelo's or Tropical Traders. But at $6.95 for half a dozen, very reasonable. Since Angelo's serves bad food at high prices, and TT serves erratic food (sometimes great, sometimes just grease), these won. Hands down the best french fries I've had in years. Hands down. Just crispy enough to crunch, insides hot but not mushy. They are not hand cut, but they're perfect. They also do the right thing - I ordered a T-bone rare plus, or rare to medium rare, and it came closer to medium. It was taken off the bill and replaced without a murmur. Fish tacos are good, though the first time we ordered them, there was fish at bottom and three shrimp at top, with just a hint of sweet chili sauce. Second time, fish only, and a lot of sweet sauce. We queried the waitress, who said "We have fish tacos and shrimp tacos!" and again, they did the right thing - took the fish tacos off and brought shrimp in their place. But note that shrimp tacos are not on the menu. Also note that they come wrapped in two tortillas - the first is a pre-made corn tortilla that tastes like the kind you buy in a box at the market. Outside that is a pretty tasty flour tortilla. If you don't like flour tortillas, though, be aware that the corn is closer to a pre-made Taco Bell tortilla than anything fresh. A pity, because they don't take that long to cook when they're fresh, and it would make a hug difference. Crabcakes also excellent, though a bit on the heavy mayo side for my taste. But my wife loved them with no reservations, as did the rest of the table. Fried green tomatoes were perfect; just enough crunch. Served with really good homemade ranch dressing. Ambience is fine. Personally, I could live without loud music and TV screens at night, but we sat inside, and the waitress turned the music in there down on request. We also found the wait staff personable and easy to work with. All in all, I would recommend this over anything in the near neighborhood. (Please note, recommendation is dependent in large part on this chef, who apparently insists on clean grease and good quality.) Cons: The chef has a very heavy salt hand. I mean, very. And it varies a lot. The first time we had onion soup, at lunch, it was perfect. The next time, at dinner, it was quite salty. The third time, at dinner, we tasted before ordering - inedible because of it. Either the stock had been simmering all day, resulting in a lot of salt, or the chef added too much. People can always add salt, but you can't remove it. We found the same with the pork chops; way too much salt. Contrast that with my steak when I specifically asked that there be no added salt - it was fine. T-bone steak was $21.95, very pricey for this area, so I expected something at least 1" thick, but this was nowhere near. Not a great piece of steak, either. It would be nice to see the kitchen offer at least one nice thick steak (preferably ribeye!), and I think people like me would pay a premium for it. But I don't know.... My husband and I drove down from Tally for our first taste of Mad Anthony's last Saturday. It is a commitment to go there but so worth the trip. Beautiful outdoor seating on a huge deck. The beer selection is great - I think we tried several on the menu. We had the fish tacos and they were incredible. I wasn't as crazy about the double shells but the fish was fresh and tasty. Server was great and he was pretty busy but we didn't mind waiting. The view was incredible, great place to spend an afternoon.

Had a great supper here on a September Sunday evening. The fish tacos were fabulous, and the salads are huge! Tried the draft IPA and Scotch Ale, and both were very nice. Our new "go to" spot when we're here!

This was the most horrific experience of my life. We arrived a little bit after 6pm. The waitress took our drink orders relatively quickly, but then 30 minutes later we hadn't seen her nor gotten our drinks. After we finally got our drinks, the waitress disappeared. I complained to the hostess, then 15 minutes later we saw the waitress again. We finally were able to order our food, but then random waitresses brought us 'water' which ended up being sprite. I ordered a beer, which came to me 30 minutes later. My friend never got his beer. Half of us got our food before everyone else did. We heard that one of the entrees fell on the floor. We never got napkins, never got anything we asked for, and were never rude to any of the wait staff. They held us hostage for 2.5 hours, then charged us an exorbitant amount of money for their 'trouble.' Then we wanted our checks for what we had eaten and the waitress yelled at us for complaining. NEVER EAT HERE.

My husband and I went to this restaurant on Saturday evening and were not impressed. I had a salad and fried shrimp basket w/fries and my husband had a bowl of French onion soup and the fish tacos. The lettuce in the salad was bagged lettuce, the soup wasn't very good and he thought it might be swiss cheese instead of mozzarella on top. The fish tacos were mediocre at best and the fries were barely warm while the breading on the shrimp fell off when I dipped it in the cocktail sauce (which was very tasty!). The worst part of the the evening however was when our waitress dropped my husbands credit card through the wooden slats on the floor and then told us that there was no way to retrieve it! Excuse me? She went and got the manager and she informed us that we would have to cancel our credit card and pay for our meal another way because there was no way for the staff or either of us to get to the abyss underneath the floor and get our credit card! They offered no discount or to buy our meal for being so inconvenienced. I think by that point we were in shock and gave them another credit card to pay our $41.00 bill. (so not worth it) Needless to say we will not be returning and if you go, watch that credit card. ;)
