Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Sal's thin crust pizza tastes like I died and went to New Jersey for a meal in purgatory. Except, it was heavenly. Our family ate at another pizza parlor the day before (check my my profile) and I swore that I'd not even bother trying another place. Well, that's true ... Except Sal's is more than a few miles down the road from the first area pizza parlor I reviewed. Atmosphere/Service Sal's sits in a strip mall, right next to a liquor store called Richey's (make your own 'Soprano's' joke here). In fact, my research tells me that the owner of Sal's hails from Patterson, NJ, a quaint town in the northern part of the Garden State where you can rent an apartment from any one of about 35 slum lords (one of whom is an old friend of mine), or shop at one of the country's best multi-cultural supermarkets (Corrado's). But, I digress. Sal's is a nice pizza parlor. There are booths and tables, along with a bar. It's roomy and the walls are adorned with soccer and NFL stuff. As I went to the restroom to wash my hands, Sal was sitting at the bar with an acquaintance (Richey, perhaps?) and the only thing I heard when I walked by was the F-bomb. It was outstanding. Just like they say it in NJ. But seriously, our server was great in every way. He embodied everything listed in the Boy Scout Law, and then some. I'm hoping that Sal gives this kid a little bonus for being such an effing fine ambassador for his business. Food It's damn good pizza. Plain and simple. The crust is as thin as top quality printer paper; the sauce - divine; and the cheese tastes just like the stuff they serve on legit NY-style pies. Bottom Line If you live here, you have a pizza bird's nest on the ground. Skip Sal's for some other joint and you'll get what you have coming to you -- something less than the best. If you are a tourist, make a U-turn or a right-turn and patronize this place. Sure, it's not a chain -- it's far superior. Even if you don't like to hear some guy blurt out the F-word as you approach the bathroom, it's totally worth it. If Sal would open a joint in my hometown, I'd keep him in business for sure. And you would too -- after just one bite.

I was raised in South Jersey and I'm very picky about pizza. This place takes me back. Photos of NYC and Frank Sinatra playing in the background set the stage for the mouth-watering NY style pizza I'm enjoying. Do yourself a favor and check them out. You won't regret it!

Sals is my "go to" place for a good, quick meal at a reasonable price. This is where the locals hang out for a beer and good conversation with the owner/friends. While sitting at the bar, be sure to place an order for the wings because they are outstanding.....HOT WINGS of course. Pizza is outstanding and Calzone is perfect every time. Be sure to say hi to Sal the next time you visit because he never turns down an opportunity to socialize with the patrons

I think the pizza is the best in the area, coming from South Florida (New York south) we had a lot of good pizza and I missed that coming to the Pensacola area, sal's fills the void, thin New York style pizza, the calzones are good also. If I am going to have pizza this would be the first place I would call. The place isn't cheap and I can't understand how a pizza place makes it not being open on Sunday, I know NFL isn't big here but it's football, pizza and wings on Sunday?

Cmon man!! After being gone for two years in new jersey i knew i would be able to count on sals pizza however i was highly disappointed in the pizza as they must be using a different cheese or something. I may have to check out the new jimmy bs in gulf breeze or hit up the consistently good vinnie R's as Sals missed the mark for me. Wait staff always courteous

My favorite thin crust cheese pizza. Very New Yorker. It's a good pizza to bend in half and eat right up.

The best pizza & pasta any of us in our group had ever had!!! The service was excellent and they even made us another pizza after there was a tiny hole in our original pizza. We will definitely go back!

Basing this review on one visit in which I ordered one pizza. My goto pizza place NYPD pizza couldn't have a pizza ready for 45 minutes, so I called Sal's and they said my pizza would be ready in 15 minutes. 45 minutes later the pizza was ready. I ordered a Margheritta Pizza and it was not good at all. It was a pizza with diced onion and tomato sprinkled with a stingy amount of cheese; where's the basil. They should rename this pizza the Mexican salsa pizza because that's what it tasted like. Other raters seem to like this place, but I won't go back. At $20 for a large pie that I won't eat both my wallet and palette are disappointed with this place. If you decide to give this place a try DO NOT ORDER THE MARGHERITTA PIZZA; it is guaranteed disappointment.

Used to go all the time, but found the waitresses are far too busy talking with each other than serving their customers for sure. food was ok. But not impressed with picture menus....Gordon Ramsay says that is a big no no. ok for family dinning - will go now and then - but not first choice.

Pizza was very good. Service was a little lacking, but the food made up for it.

It's maybe OK, don't know how they can call themselves New York style Pizza be cause it is not! I lived in New York and this place isn't even close. But, if you like basic pizza this is the place. If you want a step up with a little better sauce...go to NYPD

II love the chicken parmesan sandwich here. Pizza is good too, but a little expensive. Wish they were open Sundays though. :(

Hands down the best pizza in the area! Just wish they delivered. They even host UFC fights!

Every time we come in town we eat here!!! Never been disappointed yet. I wish they still served the stuffed fried black olives!!!! David gives the food his added touch. We have never had anything we would not eat again!!! Delish ;)

This place used to be pretty good pizza for this area...the last few times horrible! Saturday night we ordered a salad, pasta with garlic and oil, and a medium cheese pizza. The salad was brown and completely going bad...like in slime on the lettuce. The blue cheese dressing was in a packet and completely liquid. No actual cheese- just cheap chemicals. The pasta was just ordinary from a box- not close to restaurant quality or $9.95. The pizza was the worst ever- it looked and tasted frozen. The crust was a consistent thickeness from the outside to the middle of the pizza - 1/2 inch thick- not thinning out towards the center. It had the consistency of cardboard and an off taste. The cheese was sporadic at best and not gooy and stringy like mozzarella should be- but individual Shreds that did not melt into each other...real cheese? Our waitress was sweet and explained there were new guys in the kitchen (obviously not trained) and took it away but did not offer a replacement - and I was freaking starving! After more then 10 minutes the manager or owner (not sure she did not introduce herself but had an air of authority) came over and yelled at us for not liking the pizza WTF?!?! I'm a well traveled foodie (you can see my other reviews - though I don't review often) and I have never had such a crappy experience! Bad pizza is one thing....but bad attitude?????

Decent pizza but I would not call it New York style pizza. The people are extremely friendly and love to hold a nice conversation with their customers.
(3)Stephanie M.
My first trip there was okay....then went back I had a medium my husband had a large, 35 dollars! Pizza box was so flimsy the pizza fell out on the ground! Went back yesterday and ordered 2 slices, mushrooms and onions 9.25.There was no sauce and the mushrooms were from a can, I won't be going back, and I live right down the street!

Sorry Sal's I had to change my rating cause I went to Reggie's and it was way better. The marinara was better at Reggie's and the pizza was way way way better along with the service. Plus when we went to Sal's our cheese sticks came out frozen in the middle still. Y'all need to step your game up, sorry.
(3)Tom M.
Ordered two pizzas. Not much flavor. Served on paper plates which wasn't much fun.
(2)Denis C.
Refused to cook an order in a special way for a person allergic to pepper. This was a go to place for pizza. Now it's just another screwed up restaurant in Navarre. I live here, and wish I didn't. I wouldn't vacation here either with all the bad attitude, bad service, and bad food restaurants around here. Completely unacceptable.
