Been here three times. Service can be slow as mentioned but not that bad. Corned beef hash is a little greasy but tastes great and if you are eating it you are not that health conscious anyway Steel cut oatmeal is good and the hash browns are a lot like cracker barrels Good little local place

The Scrambled Egg is excellent! The food is made with the freshest ingredients and EVERYTHING is so tasty. Their in-house potato chips are the best I have EVER had. I disagree with the low reviews previously posted. If you want the same ole fast food, drive thru McDonalds. If you want great, fresh food in a place where you are not just a number or another ticket, eat at The Scrambled Egg. Great things take a little extra time. I find the wait time to be just right. The food and the friendly atmosphere make The Scrambled Egg my favorite place to eat in Fishhawk and beyond. Don't forget to have them cater for you. The same great tasty food prepared to order for any occasion. We had them do sandwiches and chips for our movers when we moved in. The guys were thrilled with not having pizza again and were amazed at how good a sandwich could taste. Everyone fought over the chips. All around rave reviews from my household. I only wish they were open for dinner too!

Food is excellent. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable however the service can be slow, most likely because everything is made fresh to order. It is worth the wait as its delicious and you can certainly taste the quality of ingredients used.

We've been waiting for this to open as we live nearby. French toast is very good and is served with warm syrup. Egg scramble and hash brown casserole were delicious, biscuit was a little dry. My husband really liked the Fishhawker which included eggs sausage red potatoes with peppers and onions and French toast. Service is plentiful and friendly. Owners are community oriented. We will be back!

Awesome. Great service and great menu! This is one of the best breakfast joints in the FishHawk area.

It was just ok. My eggs over light had no juice they were like hard fried eggs. Did not like the hash brown casserole. Server was nice. Place cute but as I said just ok. I won't go out of our way to go back. Maida

Went in excited for a new place in the area. Got seated right away, but then we waited for about 15 minutes without anyone ever even offer coffee or coming back to us. We left shortly after another couple. Not going back.

I've been here 3 times & gratefully each experience has been great. I've ordered the exact same plate each time which is called the Fishhawker- I keep it simple so it's two eggs over medium, French toast, maple bacon, & Wisconsin cheddar hash. The French toast is delicious & definitely worth trying if you haven't had it! The bacon is on the sweeter side so for me it does a nice blend w/ the eggs & cheesy hash. The staff has always been prompt & friendly. The place is quaint, clean, & service is good. All the basics nicely covered to jump start your morning!

Always looking for a good breakfast spot. Not much luck however. It's a little drive from Riverview to Fishhawk, but we really wanted to give this place a try. I love the decor of the place, especially the pallet boards on the walls. Kudos to the designer. The restaurant is fairly large with an even bigger outdoor area. So plenty of seating. Our waiter was very nice. No complaints about the service (until...see below) I ordered the corned beef hash with over medium eggs and toast. Coffee (decaf) was hot but a bit bland for my taste. Took quite a while to get our food but we were in no hurry so it didn't really bother us. My eggs were cooked perfectly, hurray!! Toast was warmed bread (1 slice, but a little thicker than your usual bread), I like my toast toasted!!! I did not like the hash. Pretty much corned beef with shredded potato. It left a puddle of oil/grease in the bottom of my dish which totally turned me off. At the same time, the beef was dry ( I know, a conundrum right? Greasy and dry at the same time). The corned beef was a bit too "corned" for my liking too. Tasted like dill pickles. What a disappointment. The waiter, noticing that I didn't eat the corned beef asked if I didnt like it. I told him no, and explained why. He picked up my plate and off he went. No offer of something else, no visit by the manager/owner, just left, and no discount on the bill. I know it must be tough to get a new business off the ground, but if you don't take care of your patrons, they will not return. We will not return. Back to our little hole-in-the-wall Ruth's Steakhouse on 301 in Riverview,,,now they know how to make breakfast and how to take care of their customers, Honey!!!

#231 This is the kind of local place you want to love but.... Nice place, nothing extraordinary big outdoor area that will be very nice in the warmer weather. We were seated immediately and our server offered a choice of coffee's, regular or bold. He also let me sample both before I choose. I asked for a 50/50 blend of both which he poured no problem. I ordered a sausage, spinach and cheese omelet and was offered the choice of home fires, hash brown casserole (hash browns/cheese baked in casserole) or scrambled grits ( grits with bacon bits and cheese). I kept it simple and went with the home fries and biscuit. Wife ordered the corned beef hash two egg breakfast. The hash here is made in house and this is why we came here, to try it as she is nuts about hash. The food coming out wasn't real fast but it did come out hot. I was surprised when I saw my home fries, mixed with sautéed green and red peppers and sliced onion. I sang praises to the veggie gods until.....I tasted it. Funny flavor, something not quite right. And the omelet? It was essentially a cheese omelet with about 4 spinach leaves and a small smattering of sausage crumbled on top. I was very disappointed. Oh wait, the biscuit was good. I wanted strawberries on top of it. Wife's hash was greasy and had an off flavor also and her toast wasn't. I can't say I'm impressed by this new business, I love mom and pop places but if the food doesn't improve I don't have much hope for it.

Fishhawk's new (and only? or are we counting the bagel place) breakfast joint, just opened in the plaza that houses Fishhawk Pizza, the vitamin/smoothie place, and that gym all the cool moms go to. So walking in, the layout is the first big issue. The host stand is also the pay stand, immediately inside the doorway. This can (and most certainly will on a busy weekend day) lead to confusion, as people trying to pay and people mingling in to sit down are in one giant mass, right inside the door. An off-to-the-side "Please Wait Here To Be Seated" sign would probably work wonders. Since the place is also in Fishhawk, it's loud as heck inside, and filled with kids. But your kid is probably shouting too, so it's generally all good. At least, that's what I keep telling myself... Quick, friendly service took care of drinks and food orders, which took a good long while to come out, but we'll chalk that one up to first-week issues. The food was great, though. Kiddo had a good-sized chocolate chip waffle and warm cinnamon apples, which she devoured. The wife loved her "Kitchen Sink" omelet, and the corned beef hash I had is made in-house, from an actual corn beef brisket. Very tasty stuff. Coffee was general boring Central American blend diner coffee. Definitely not my imported Kopi Luwak, but at $2 with refills I guess I'll survive. Very large outside seating area as well, and it's covered entirely. I'll definitely be back to try their other breakfasts - let's hope they iron out the speed issues while keeping the food quality as high as I experienced.

This has become our "after church" destination. Great food and service. The wait staff are all very personable and attentive. I'd add that 5th star if the A/C could keep up. If it's warm outside...it's warm inside . Maybe the owner will take notice and add some more cooling.

Fast and friendly service for six of us! We all ordered something different and it was all really, really good. This is now our first choice for breakfast!!!!

I've been twice in the last 3 days and each visit was better than the last. The french toast is delicious, kinda reminds me of donuts. Servers (Kimberly & Brandon) were amazing. Very attentive and polite. Never a long wait and food comes out quickly. Eggs are fluffy and flavorful, pancakes are tasty, maple brown sugar bacon..YES PLEASE..it's BOMB. Skip the scrambled grits...trust me. You're better off ordering them plain with cheese instead. I'm happy I'm close enough, this is my new breakfast spot.

My wife and I started to come here for breakfast and were starting to really like it except that today, I ordered their home made corn beef hash which I had to return because it tasted like it was cooked in kerosene! I had to return the dish and had to go home with a very sick stomach. Someone needs to check the cooking oil that this place uses.

First time here. Good service and nice decor. I got the Fishhawker. French toast was really good and sausage links were great. Scrambled grits were okay. Wife got Rise and Shine. Eggs cooked properly over medium. Bacon was really good. Hash brown casserole was good, but a little dry. Biscuit was over cooked. Got a replacement one since the first was hockey puck consistency. It was marginally better, but still couldn't eat outside of it. Men's bathroom stall would not lock, so I got to meet an employee when I would have preferred a little privacy. Despite this, we will try it again sometime. When I mentioned the issue to the server she said the were aware of the issue. Change the lock out folks it's a $20 fix.

I have been wanting to visit this place but it is never open when i have time to go. When it opened i was thinking this would be a geeat place to get a coffee in the afternoon since no other coffee places exist within 5 miles of here. As it turns out they are only open till noon or so, so that sucks. So now i am hopefuly waiting for dunkin donuts to build a place here somewhere close by.

The Fishhawker is the perfect breakfast; it has a little of everything you could want for a solid meal to start your day. Including French Toast which is so addictive...it gives you that good feeling when you bite into a freshly made warm donut.

Though the Scrambled Egg has seemed to recover from the disastrous service last time we visited, today the food was lackluster. The coffee remains weak and the fantastic Wisconsin Cheddar Hash Browns from last time were poor imitations with no flavor and significantly less cheese. Hopefully they will improve.

My wife and I had the flatbread breakfast sandwiches ( open face) and hash browns and coffee. We liked the coffee enough to ask what it was ( Royal Cup Columbian). The flatbreads were fantastic, very rich taste with a nice crispy bread!! The hash browns we would not re-order. They were different to say the least, but that would not deter us from returning. The atmosphere is pleasant , looks very nice inside, and we are looking forward to sitting outside on our next visit. We thought some "Panera" type music softly in the background would have been nice. I thought it was a bit pricey ( meals and coffee for $24), but it seems like the days of the inexpensive breakfast are over at all area breakfast places.

Best breakfast in town! Absolutely amazing! You have to try the French toast and hash brown casserole. You will not be disappointed!

Most restaurants get better the longer they stay open....I'm finding the exact opposite here. Every time I've returned there has been issues, whether the service or the food and today was both. I waited about 40 minutes for my food today and no, it wasn't very busy at all. Then when I got my food, the eggs were crisp around the edges and browned throughout, my toast wasn't really toasted and my pieces of bacon were skinny and thin cuts. Totally opposite of the first breakfast I received here. I am disappointed for the last time and will not be returning for awhile.
