Most amazing cake place I've ever been to! I'm not from Key West, but decided to celebrate my 30th birthday there. I checked out their website before making any decisions and their cakes were beautiful. I sent in a request for a quote with a picture of the cake I wanted. They responded within 24 hours and told me the exact price it would come out to. They even were able to deliver it to me since I was staying in a Key West vacation rental. Anyway, the cake turned out just as beautiful if not more beautiful than the picture I sent in and the red velvet was DELICIOUS! The frosting was perfect and the service I received everytime I called was amazing! Perfect 5 stars for this place.

Was craving something sweet after spending most of the morning sightseeing. I had seen many great reviews for this place. We were not disappointed. Key West Cakes first opened in 2001 and has been awarded the "Best in Weddings" by the Knot in 2010 & 2012. I had to try their Key Lime Pie which was delicious and not too sweet. After my wife explained to the owner Paul that she could handle anything too sweet he recommended the strawberry and cream cupcake. It was chocolate/strawberry cake filled with whipped cream and fresh strawberries. Just perfect according to my wife. Noticed on the menu that they actually have a small savory takeout menu for dinner. One of the items that caught my eye was the chicken pot pie. It is so popular that they make about 40 pies on Tuesday and they are sold out in 2 hours. I find that impressive. It is off the beaten path of the madness that is Duval Street but definitely worth a look if you are in the area. Bonus, there is parking lot out front which is very rare for most businesses in the area.

My husband and I were very very delighted with our wedding cake from Key West Cakes! We wanted a very simple cake, all white, no fuss so we chose one from the wedding cake pictures they have online. They personalized our cake size for the amount we needed, and it was a beautiful and delicious cake! It was a white cake inside with raspberry filling. We live in North Carolina so we weren't able to order in person or taste before but correspondence was so easy and quick that it didn't matter. They delivered our cake to our lunch reception at Louies Backyard, zero problems. I would highly recommend them to anyone!!!

"Let them eat cake." And cake they ate! I don't live in Key West. I live in Dallas, but I wanted to get a special someone that lives in KW a birthday cake. Key West Cakes was recommended to me by a (local) friend of both mine and the birthday boy. I looked at their website before calling to place the order. I believe I spoke with Steven. He was very helpful with me as I tried to make up my mind on flavors. He made suggestions on the aesthetics of the cake, and being clueless, I followed his lead. I'm glad I did! Steven didn't even poke fun of me when I told him the lovey-dovey, mushy message I wanted him to write on top in icing. In his words, "oh, I've heard worse" after I warned him not to make fun. :) I may not have been able to taste the cake, but after seeing pictures, it looked great! It was a sunset beach theme with beautiful colors with palm trees along the side. It didn't look elementary in the least. Both of my friends said it was tasty too! I ordered chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. They offered to deliver to the restaurant where the birthday dinner was being held for a nominal $10 fee, but my friend ended up picking it up for me earlier that day and taking it to the restaurant for later that night. The ordering process was smooth, and they didn't even ask for my credit card information until the day of delivery. Next time I'm in Key West, I really should pop in and try one of their treats. I deserve it after being so "sweet!"

Delicious sweet goodness. When visiting Key West, one must go eat some yummy cupcakes, brownies, etc at Key West Cakes. They have many yummy treats to choose from. My favorite are their cupcakes, the size is bigger than most places, and the taste is huge in a delicious manner just like the size of the cupcake. The employees/owners are very welcoming and package everything very nicely. I remember at my last visit, I didn't want to eat the cupcakes right then. They packaged and boxed everything very efficiently that even 6 hours later everything tasted very fresh and yummy. They create beautiful cakes for every special occasion as well in their storefront. So, if you are thinking of a party or destination wedding in Key West, I would definitely recommend checking this sweet place out.

Cute little bakery a bit away from the main touristy areas. Stopped in to get a cupcake on my birthday. Got the red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. It was good but maybe not $4.25 good. That's a little steep for a cupcake where I come from!

Key West Cakes did our vintage inspired wedding cake. Beautiful, delicious and great service....what more can I say. We did a two tier naked cake with drizzled caramel and cupcakes with piped frosting and a sprinkle of toasted coconut. The cake was moist, the frosting was light and the presentation was simply perfect. I will post photos later so you can see just how beautiful the cake really was! We are very pleased with our cake vendor selection!

As a local, I have been enjoying cupcakes and other delightful goodies from Key West Cakes for about 6 months. I am a vegetarian with food allergies. I am deathly allergic to peanuts. I stop probably once a week. I stopped today and, as I have been for sixth months, asked questions about the cupcakes under the domes. The older lady was not specific about the types so I asked again. I was not mad, did not raise my voice, yet needed to know about the toppings on the cupcakes. The owner Paul decided to step into the conversation and I alerted him I was allergic to peanuts and he invited me to just not buy any cupcakes! I was appalled as I had not had an issue with purchases from employees. I said what and he said , just chill out. Ok everyone gets to have a bad day, but an owner speaking to a loyal customer this way. Paul said a few other things that led me to leave the premises and not ever return. His lack of customer service, understanding and courtesy were appalling. If you have any type of food allergy, please stay away. I know I will not be returning and I will request my dinner guests not bring dessert from this establishment to my house. Hmmmmm treating a local so horrible, I wonder how he treats tourists!

We had a small cake for our little beach wedding and it was beautiful and tasty (we don't have the pictures yet, so I can't post it right now). It was a white cake with Bavarian cream filling, frosted in white and decorated with white chocolate starfish and seashells, brown sugar "sand," and a fine dusting of what looked like multicolor glitter. It looked stunning and was absolutely delicious. The frosting was not a buttery buttercream frosting, and I think that wouldn't have held up in the August heat anyway. Key West Cakes, thank you so much for making our special day even sweeter!

After reading through reviews on Trip Advisor and Yelp, I selected Key West Cakes to make a simple 40th birthday cake for my husband's destination celebration in KW. Ordering remotely was fairly easy...I filled out a form on their website with details of what I wanted, and received a response back from them within a couple hours. Had trouble deciding on the flavors (they're all listed on the website), but ultimately went with chocolate cake with chocolate ganache. The cake was very tasty, and everyone in our group enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend them if you are in need of a cake in Key West

We've also bought their meatballs and brought them home, as well as their delicious chicken pot pies. If only they made these last two items every day!!!
