Just tried this place and we all loved it ! Now it did not get 5 stars because I had to pay $7 to get in ! We came for a Saturday afternoon lunch and not to enjoy the beach and still had to pay $7 ! That might be a deal breaker for some people. Anyway we drove in and were pleasantly surprised that there is parking for restaurant guests right by the entrance. Came in around 3:30 pm and where able to sit outside. Restaurant is simple but clean and while not fancy the view makes up. We had a fantastic view and I quickly forgot abotu the $7 entrance. Service was friendly and quick. Menu has something for everyone. We received complimentary chips and salsa which was quite tasty. Hubby ordered the beef enchiladas and the portions were huge. Came with refried beans and rice. Ordered a plain cheeseburger with fries for my son and he said it was good. I eat on the healthier side so was very happy with the choices available to me. i had the mango chicken and it was great. The chicken was grilled and the mango slightly overpowering but I enjoyed it. I had a side salad and steamed veggie medley. The vegetables did not taste frozen and were cooked perfectly and the side salad was nothing spectaclar but hey it's lettuce. Anyway it was a very nice lunch, again the view was amazing and the food was really quite good. We will definitely be back !

Visited at the invitation of Kenny and Cindy, they live nearby, and raved about the Fish Tacos at the joint. So I ordered something else, some sort of cheese and rice and re-fried plate of cheesy fish fun and it was a hit. But the fish tacos are better. This place is in the middle of nowhere in Homestead, at Homestead Bayfront Park. It is essentially a snack bar that was taken over by a local Mexican operation in town. The food is good, the view from the second floor (which the joint occupies) is great too, waterfront of the lil beach, life guard chair, lagoon, and Biscayne Bay beyond. They serve beer and wine and its a family run type of joint. Good stuff. Very hot during Summer when the Sun is up, so be advised. Cabeza - Bueno!

Even though, i was only my boyfriend & I. The server was pleasant and knowledgeable of the area and the beach. I had the Mussels with the white wine, it was Delicious and they provided bread & butter. I was in dunking heaven. They serve wine, pretty pricey ,$4.00 a glass, and the scene was beautiful. There are picnic areas and you can grill there. A great place for the family as well as couples. The parking was inexpensive, was paid $6.00. I had a great time.

Food was average but atmosphere was great! Beautiful view of the water and palm trees, screened eating area as well as open patio area. The staff is very friendly; great place for large party. Awesome fresh salsa! Prices range from $8 to $15 per entree.

Really love this place. Great place for lunch and to watch the sunset. The food is really great. The playa burger was really good. Also the chicken tenders are good. Great fries. The best view in town. A must visit.

Great place! Got the wings and the bean tostadas, delicious. Excellent view and good prices. Definitely would come back.

Came here when the place was completely empty. It was about 3:30 and everybody was still out on the beach (which you have a full view of from the patio). The server was very nice, the food was great, and all at a great price. I had mahi mahi fingers with onion rings, my wife had grilled fish tacos. Both were excellent. I want to see this place when it is more crowded to get the "full experience" but all in all, the place is a hidden gem. Unlimited chips and salsa came with our meal and that is the key to my heart. Will be back soon!

The view is really nice and the food is amazing. We had a blackened snapper with fries and a salad and a grilled snapper with slaw and a salad. Definitely recommend the grilled and the coleslaw is so delicious and fresh. The waitress was very friendly. We went on a Friday night and it was very quiet and peaceful. We sat outside but there is a screen in area. If you go at night you don't pay park entrance.

A group of us ladies went for lunch. The food, service, atmosphere beyond our expectations. Waiting for our food was expected, ITS FRESH HOMEMADE Not FROZEN. This restaurant TOPS a lot of other restaurants around Homestead. I can't BRAG enough about La Playa Grill. Loved it. Good people work their, very well mannered.

I discovered this place by accident while exploring the back roads of South Dade on my motorcycle on a Sunday afternoon. Located in the Homestead Bayside Park, this airy, screened-in second-floor space has a nice view of the water. The menu is pretty basic--burgers and Mexican food. I had fish tacos with mango salsa and washed them down with a couple of $2 Bud drafts. As Homestead has no real beach, It's one of the only waterfront dining options in the area.

Everything was SPECTACULAR. We visited on a Sunday night, not crowded, certainly will come back! It took a while to get our food, but when it came it was very well worth it! On the night of the supermoon (June 23) I had the blackenned snapper with french fries, highly recommend it. Also the chips and salsa, been dip, fish tacos, and been burrito. The keylime was also incredible, made by a very kind waitress. Also, great veiw! 5 stars to La Playa.

Our favorite server at another restaurant told us about La Playa, so we checked it out last Sat. Good atmosphere, we ordered the fish dip and it was really good. The antrees were well cooked, the fish was well seasoned and perfectly grilled. The crowd was primarily locals, definitely be back :)...and of course...cold beer!!

I Just moved back to Homestead from the Kendall area a couple months back And had always heard good things about Biscayne National Park, but never really got around to checking it out Until recently. Its a beautiful area in the middle of nowhere where a small Beach overlooks the bay. Cool place for the whole family to hang out if you don't feel like driving all the way to South Beach. Best part of the park is La Playa Grill. A small restaurant perched above the beach and overlooking the ocean. The view is fantastic and the beer is cold. They don't have a full liquor license, so for now its just beer and wine, but its cheap! (Especially if you come on Thursdays for dollar drafts All day!) The food is very affordable too and exceeded my expectations. They serve typical bar food (burgers, wings, etc...) with some Mexican favorites sprinkled here and there (the owner also owns El Toro Taco in downtown homestead). They even feature specials on the weekends which are usually pretty awesome! My favorite item on their menu is the Ranchero burger which they serve with a jamming homemade Ranchero sauce and a fried egg on top! Really good burger and Huge! All patty's are 1/2 pound i believe. They also have delicious fish taco's and fajitas. I haven't had a bad meal yet! Glad i found this place and if you live down here, definitely worth checking out!

So I finally decided to try this place just to have a change of scenery. Cool, I finally learned where the Homestead Miami Speedway is which was right around the corner. Ok, back to La Playa Grill, the service was not what I expected because the waitress brought both drinks & food together. By that time, I didn't even want my wine so I asked for a plastic cup to go. I slowly sipped it down stairs as I walked by the nice view of people playing volleyball, fishing, barbecuing & the relaxing body of waters. I ordered the nachos which were ok but nothing out of this world. Also my daughter ordered the fajitas which had great flavor, but not enough meat. I gave it 3 *** stars because of the slow service.

Spent the afternoon at the beach and came in for beer and appetizers. Kids had the chicken fingers and my wife and I split the nachos. Beer was cheap and cold. The food was awful. We couldn't eat the nachos and the kids just picked at the chicken. Next time we will pack sandwiches to eat at the beach.

This is a hidden place in Homestead. We were here for The Classics by the Bay car show and we stopped to eat at this place. The nachos were excellent and the portion was good for 2-3 people. I had fish and chips with cole slaw. Slaw was vey tasty, and had chunks of pineapple, very refreshing. Cod fish tasted fresh. The view on a clear day is excellent.

If you're looking for a great hide away with delicious food, friendly service and a fantastic view, THIS IS THE PLACE!! I recommend the chicken or fish tacos!! I noticed they are closed on Mondays so keep that in mind. They also have blanket delivery of ice cream and water.

The food is pretty good. Keep it simple (fish sandwich or a burger) and you will do just fine. They really need to change the sign on the street, though. At the intersection of Speedway Boulevard and Southwest 328 street, the sign says, "waterfront dinning." Dinning? What is dinning?

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
