Pepperoni pizza had pepperoni under cheese which always a pet peeve. Appears to be cheddar mixed with mozzarella. Thin crust with cornmeal is good. Biggest letdown is sauce which is just tasteless and gets overpowered by salty cheese. Service is nice but relaxed.

Atmosphere is old but clean. Pizza is good, not skimpy on cheese, and crust is really good. The buffet is not very big but we'll stocked, fresh and the salad is fresh. The pasta and soup on the buffet is plentiful and good. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Would suggest for an inexpensive lunch with no frills.

The pizza here is fantastic. I'm never disappointed by their pizza. They have a sweeter sauce and the rest of their ingredients are fresh. Our service was fine as well. I have had their buffet at other locations and this is always a great opportunity to try different menu items. We saw a sign that said they have a lunch buffet Monday through Friday. We went there for dinner and order a pizza and the cheese garlic bread. Both were fantastic. Would definitely eat here again.

I've never been disappointed with Aurelio's, but I've never been 'wowed' either. They have good pizza that is well-seasoned but typically fairly greasy. Since I've always ordered take-out for the office I have yet to have the pleasure of dining in the restaurant; so I have no comment to make on the quality of service. If you live in Estero this is a convenient pizza place to frequent if you're looking for something other than Pizza Hut or Domino's.

This is apparently a Chicago pizza lovers kinda place. We sat outdoors and ordered salads and pizza. I liked that the pizza was thin crust but for me, the sauce was way too sweet. Definitely not what a New Yorker is used to. But surrounded by fellow yelpers who hailed from chi town, they loved it. Service was good considering we were a noisy table of 11 humans and one doggone cute lil mocha beast. Kudos to my gal pal Rachel for setting up this UYE in Ft Myers so we could spread our yelp love to all who showed up!

Nice waitress. Salad was ok. Meatball sandwich (two small meatballs in a tiny Italian roll with little sauce) was the smallest meatball sandwich I have ever had for the highest price. I may try it again and just get a pizza to go.

Grew up in NW Indiana. This was my favorite pizza growing up, and I am so glad they have one here in Florida. I live in the Cape, and make excuses to come to GCTC just to come get the pizza. It may not be for everybody, but if you like Chicago thin crust pizza....this is the place.

Pizza is okay. Not New York style. We ate there before going to the airport to fly home. Service was quick and attentive. The place was empty at noon on a Saturday.

Ordered a sky vodka/soda and a sky sea breeze at the bar. Nicholas the bartender looked for more than 5 minutes for sky vodka that they don't carry. No worries! We ordered absolutes instead. My absolute soda came with two fruit flies! Ok, no worries! I ordered a keddle one soda, I got keddle and tonic!! All the while the over weight big mouth mngr who was hanging out at the bar with the ONLY other 3 guests at the bar on a sat night night announced as he held up the bottle of absolute, that there weren't ANY fruit flies in the bottle! Well no shit asshole, I GOT THEM in my drink!!!! Pizza was good, won't b back!!

Awful experience! Called for delivery, was never informed it was a third party taking my order. Was told they were short on drivers so it would take 70-90 minutes. I agreed. My $23 pizza quickly turned into a $34 pizza; was somewhat confused. After 93 minutes I called for a status update - this is when I realized it was a delivery service, not the actual restaurant - was told the driver was there and waiting for it to come out of the oven, so it would be another 20 minutes or so. I said that was not acceptable - I had already waited the excessive delivery time quoted. Girl said she was transferring me to her manager; she transferred me to voice mail. I called back and told her she needed to actually transfer me to a real manager - spoke to him - was told he would waive the phone order service charge ($2.95) as well as the delivery charge ($4.95) and the pizza would arrive in 20 minutes. Agreed as I had a house full of hungry people and not much more I could do. 30 minutes later the driver arrived and said he was going to take $3 off the pizza because the girl at Aurelio's dropped the box as she handed it to him, so the pizza was ruined. I informed him his manager had already dropped all the service charges, so it would minus that and the $3. The manager had never informed the driver of the price change - they were still trying to get that $ out of me. Opened the box and yes indeed, the pizza was ruined! It was a pile of toppings and all the sauce was smeared on the edges of the box. 100% unacceptable Aurelio's! I still paid $30 (after tip) for this pile of pizza toppings that we waited 2 hours and 5 minutes for. You should be ashamed of your affiliation with this terrible delivery service. This disgrace of a pizza should of arrived free and with a gift card for a future order. This delivery service lies to your customers, tries to take money from them even after they inform them they are getting fees waived, misquotes delivery times, the list goes on and on. If you don't want to deliver your own pizzas, then don't offer delivery at all!

This is a must stop every time I come to the area. I was first introduced to This pizza at their Naples location several years ago. Happy that I found their new location on Alico near the airport. I like the thin crust and the liberal use of toppings. The menu provides a good selection of sizes and toppings.

I am currently sitting in the arelios bathroom pooping my brains out. 20 minutes after eating the best pizza I've ever ate, I find myself stuck on this throne afraid to move. And this is not the 1st time it's happen to me. I love the pizza but unfortunately, this has to be my last time doing this to myself.

I'm lucky enough to have family who live in Fort Myers because I can get my share of this pizza when I'm in the area. Being a Chicago Native I know what great pizza tastes like, and it's definitely here!Every time we eat here my family and I start talking about the times that we lived in Chicago. This pizza brings back so many great memories! Its delicious, just the way I remembered. Crispy thin crust pizza with a sharp tangy tomato sauce and Italian sausage . Yum!

Stopped in this place for first time. Beautifully decorated and was thinking we were in for a treat. We received service in a timely manner and she was pleasant. Ordered our drinks, not any alcoholic ones. Then ordered meals. Wife ordered deep dish pizza, son had paste, and myself thin crust pizza. Sons serving size was ample, my pizza was pretty good, not really very thin. Wife's had no similarities to deep dish pizza. It was like a bowl of soupy sauce and cheese. We sent it back and server said she hated their deep dish. Services became slow and sluggish and they were not busy. Waitress smelled of smoke which explains slow service. They did take deep dish off bill. My 13" pizza was $24. I have had much better for less. Not sure if we would return.

When in the area, Aurelio's is on my must go list. They do not disappoint. The thin crust pizza and a great deal of cheese and the sauce has a bit of a nice sweet taste to it. We get a Hawaiian pizza, and don't have to say extra pineapple or extra sauce. It is totally the way we missed and loved it, and as awesome and tasty as ever. We also order a deep dish pizza. We get extra so we can take it home. Deep dish is good too. Tons of cheEse, tons of sauce. Think next time I won't get the combo w mushroom, green pepper, sausage tho. The middle may get watery from veggies while the crust gets a little bit crispier. Simple sausage will be perfect. Service is good. I love the decorations and flashback pictures of Aurelio's in homewood. I use to live by the one in tinley park, so it is nostalgic, and I felt like a little kid in the 80's. Love this place, pizza, service, outside area basking w palm trees. Definitely not the old Aurelio's view.

Placed a take out order for 2 pizzas. When I showed up they told me they ran out of Italian beef, so I decided to just get a different topping. I was in a hurry so I even told them I would take it as a take and bake. Come to find out they hadn't made the other pizza either. No offer of a discount or anything for the inconvenience. Between this and the bone dry Italian beef sandwich my wife had last time, we won't be going back there anytime soon. Bad food + bad service = taking my business elsewhere. Sad part is this used to be one of our favorites here too.

Excellent lunch choices. Moderately priced. Pizza very good. I had the thin and crispy crust. Table salt and pepper shakers VERY dirty with food on tops. Holder rusty. Needs a little TLC.

Great deep dish pizza. Always plenty of cheese all the way to the edge and just the right amount of sauce. A nice change from all the thin crust pizza joints. Full liquor bar is a nice bonus.

I understand why people like this place. It's clean and has good servers but after having a lengthy conversation with my server about being a vegetarian and confirming that the red sauce did not have meat in it, I found ground beef in my meal. The manager was nice but could have done more to make me feel at ease. I will probably never eat there again.

LATE POST. This is actually from November the first, last and only time I will experience this place. First off, how do you f%#k up pizza?! I don't know how you do but they did. Me and the fiancé go in one night for a new dining expierence and we attempt to order a Chicago style pizza but those take too long and they couldn't make it that night I kid you not, an hour and a half before closing. So we order a regular pepperoni and ham pizza, it's simple. When the pizza finally made its way out I had an empty cup for the last 30 minutes of our dining expierence. The waitress reluctantly goes and gets me my damn refill. The pizza was horrible. It was bland, the crust was incredibly hard, and just eh. No flavor, no taste just sooo forgettable, not a good thing. We finish eating fairly quickly because we are 2 slices each if that. We sat another 15 minutes (not seeing the waitress once for a refill or our check) so I get up and have to walk to the bar and ask the bartender to close me out only for her to say she can't! So I have to wait for this "waitress" to come from some unknown depth of the back of the house to take my damn money. This is the only time in which I have never tipped. Even if I get bad service I tip 20% but this waitress literally did nothing to me! I WILL NEVER RECOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE AND I WILL NEVER CONSIDER COMING BACK. Pros: It's by other restaurants and decently close to the movies. Cons: Pizza sucks, service sucks, overall nothing good to speak upon.

Didn't expect an Aurelio's in Florida to taste as good as it does in Mokena, but they really delivered! A beautiful location in a picturesque, palm tree lined, strip mall! The staff was also very friendly and the waitress was surprised to learn that there is "an Aurelio's in Chicago". :-) I enthusiastically recommend this joint!

Had lunch here at noon; ordered the buffet. There were 3 kinds of mediocre pizza on the buffet (cheese, pepperoni, and sausage), with tired-looking salad, and the normal salad-bar toppings (plus pudding. Why is pudding always among the salad bar toppings? Is there a rule I'm not aware of?). The only highlight, honestly, was the desserts -- chocolate-covered brownie and caramel trifles. The buffet was $10 per person, which includes a soft drink. I would have rather taken that $10 and spent it... well, at any number of better restaurants in the plaza. It's not actively bad -- if friends have plans to meet there, I'll go... but I won't choose it myself.

Man, oh man, Aurelio's, how you have disappointed me! While I'm sure you're owned by the same folks who own the Chicago locations, your customer service is just not up to their standards. My heart's a little broken, cuz I want to love you so! I'm a native Chicagoan who was transplanted to New Jersey 10+ years ago due to my husband's job transfer. In all these years, I've never come to love east coast pie. It's my only regret in moving from Chicago -- I miss the pizza. So imagine my great excitement when I contracted to work a winter season at a Lee County hospital (travel nurse), and the hubs and I decided to take the plunge and buy a retirement house literally 10 minutes from Aurelio's. My heart sang with joy. We've never had any issues eating in, but the two times we've ordered takeout were pretty messed up. The first time we ordered online. The online confirmation said our order would "take three minutes to prepare." Even though that sounded nearly impossible, I raced over to pick it up. The order hadn't even come through yet when I got there. So I ended up just reordering the pizza face to face. Figured I'd just sit at the bar and have an icy cold beer while I waited. Except there was no bartender. The entire time I was sitting there (20-30 minutes?), only one employee even acknowledged me, a harried-looking waiter, who was back there pulling his own drinks because there was no bartender in sight. And this was a Thursday night around 7 pm! All the waiter said to me was, "I have no idea where the bartender is. Sorry." And away he went. They also got my pizza toppings wrong. Shoulda checked while I was there. We decided to try takeout again one night this week. Ordered online again, got the "three minutes to prepare" message again (what IS that??). This time the hubs raced over to pick our order up. This time, we ordered a smaller pizza because we wanted to try a couple of appetizers and I was jonesing for a Caesar salad. Hubs asked the kid who was handling the transaction if she was SURE everything we had ordered was in the bags. She was confident it was all there. It wasn't. Neither hubs nor I had any desire to run back out to get the missed item, and he had paid with cash, so couldn't get a credit card refund. So we called to see if they could deliver the missed item when they were on other deliveries in our neighborhood. We spoke to a "manager" who called herself "Melissa," who told us in no uncertain terms that they would not deliver the missed item because they don't deliver ( I guess they use a third-party delivery service or something), even though delivery is cited as a service offered on the Aurelio's website. I guess what really upset me was this girl's rather flippant and dismissive attitude. Never once did she apologize or show any remorse for the problem with our order. She was pretty much like, "These are your two choices. Take it or leave it." So I guess we are gonna leave it. Which makes me pretty sad, because their pizza is so freaking delicious! Maybe we'll start taking the drive down to the Naples location if we get cravings for some Chicago pie. Oh, and don't waste your six bucks on the Caesar salad. It's TINY and bland and boring.. Sorry this was so long.

Yet another corporate pizza joint in Fort Myers? What were they thinking? What was I thinking? Why did I bother to go in? Well, I figured they had not been reviewed yet in YELP, so I thought I'd give it a try! Was I rewarded for my effort? Well, the word "average" comes screaming to mind. But even that is a bit of a stretch. There are tons of TVs tuned to sports channels - a common corporate recipe for success that is so ubiquitous that's it's completely passe now - so last year! So how's the ambiance? Well, it's just fine if you like plastic-wood looking cookie cutter booths & a breezy hostess who will whisk you to the nearest booth and quickly return to her station to continue to do nothing. The waiter, though, was attentive and pleasant. Since this is a pizza place, I tried their their thin crust 6" pizza with sausage. It tasted just fine, although it was not as depicted on the menu. The menu depicts a completely thin flat crust on a wooden serving board. Mine came on a miniature cake rack (I'm not kidding) on a little plate and the edges were thick, like it had been baked in a bowl of some kind. A little weird - certainly not the usual Euro type that I've come to like. So that's it. Some will like this place, I think. It will be a good place for FGCU students to hang out after an event. They offer them a 10% discount and free delivery, so perhaps that is their niche. I doubt I'll return...

Terrible! Pizza had to be frozen. It was the first time I ever sent a meal back. My friend ordered spaghetti and her mushrooms were raw. Service was also terrible. I think the best part of the meal was when we left. Unless something drastically changes I won't be back.

Gluten free pizza heaven! Finally found the BEST GF pizza anywhere AND cheap! $6.75 for a 6'. Crust, chesse, sauce, fresh spinach, it all works. ALSO, found the BEST root beer on tap!!!! Oh yea! No ice, the way its meant to be, and only $2 ! My hubby flipped over the lunch buffet $9.95, M-F till 3pm, all you can eat, pizza, salad, soup, bread, fruit, desserts AND a drink too! He says the pizza is good but not the same recipe as the one in Naples. So happy we finally found a place to eat that we BOTH can enjoy! There IS a God! and I say Thank you! (Now, please don't shut down, with those prices I fear you will) OH.. I ordered another to take home and bake! I'm freezing some of it, much cheaper and better than what they sell frozen! I will probably see you there, so worth the trip up!

Walked in, were seated, waited, had the hostess ask the bartender if she "wanted us" she made an irritated face and said no, we're told "someone" will be with you, and no one ever came back and we left. Awful service!

Don't go to Aurelio's if you like good food. We went Aurelio's last Friday night and the food was truly horrible. My Mother -In-Law ordered the meatball sub and the meatballs were rock hard and totally inedible. When we politely complained about the meatballs our waiter told us that the manager would come out and talk to us but the manager never appeared. My son's pizza was so bad I don't even know where to start. I had the Fettuccini which was OK but tasted like it came out of can as did the dressing on my side salad. I'm sad that our last night on vacation was ruined by such a terrible meal. Wish we had checked the Yelp reviews before going.

On a quest to find a great pizza place in Fort Myers. This is not it. Had two large carry out pizzas on New Years Eve. One with pepperoni and one with mushroom. You could not really tell it was a mushroom pizza. Definitely skimped on the toppings. I can't place what bothered me the most about the taste....was it the crust or was it the cheeses? I could not tell. The crust was not crispy like I prefer. The sauce was too salty. The whole combination did nothing for my taste buds. They also cut the round pizza into little squares which I did not like. That way you can not get the crust with ever piece which is my fav part. I can tolerate that on a Ledo's pizza but not on this one. They were also quite expensive. I did order a spinach salad and that was good. It was very fresh. However my quest is not for a good fresh salad. So my quest will continue the next time I am in town. I am reading Yelp reviews and deciding where I will be going! Hopefully when I return I will be victorious!

Family pizza spot with tons of space for big families with indoor and outdoor seating. I came on a saturday and we got seated within 15 minutes. They had a man doing balloon animals for the kids. The food was ok, my antipasta was drenched in house dressing (i'll have to ask for dressing on the side if i ever get it again), and we got chicken parmesan sandwiches it came with a choice of fries or potato chips. I think they should offer a lighter option of a salad with my sandwich but they don't. Nothing stood out from the items we ordered. It was def good red sauce i my chicken parm I hope you like your sauce sweet. I've been here years ago i will come back again in a few years nothing to come back too soon for.

Horrible service. No one wanted to wait on us outside. Didn't bring us plates or refills on drinks. And it took forever to get check. My husband and I could have walked out and they wouldn't have noticed. The only good thing was the food. Stuffed pizza with meatballs was good.

I have had dinner at this location two times. Had spaghetti first time and Chicken Parmesan the second time. The meals both times were below average. The chicken was over baked and dry and the sauce was bitter. Salad was head lettuce and too many croutons. The raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing was bland. I may or may not go back to try their pizza, but I am just not sure they deserve a third chance.

Went here for dinner around 6:00pm on a Monday. Seating was no problem. For appetizer we had the Bruschetta - it was pretty good. Decent sized portion. It came with melted cheese on top which was surprising to me, but I liked it. We also ordered a large mushroom pizza. It was thin-crust and pretty decent size. It was also cut into squares, which I liked. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out they had cannoli on the dessert menu. We took an order (4 cannoli) to go. They are finger-sized two-biters. Unfortunately, the cannoli doesn't have the typical sweet, creamy filling. They have flavors like chocolate mousse, peanut-butter cup, and cappuccino. They're decent, but not what I really wanted. We had a lackluster waiter so it wasn't the best experience, but the overall the food was pretty good. 3 stars for an A-OK rating. I would recommend this to friends and will visit them again when in the mood for a good thin-crust pizza. For Pepsi lovers... they do serve Pepsi products. ;)

We went here for lunch and ordered a Large sausage pizza. The pizza came to our table at a reasonable time, and was good. The major complaint I have about this place is the terrible service. We waited ten minutes for a pepsi refill and abort twenty for the waitress to pick up our check. We felt that we were taking up he waitress's time as we were talking and laughing at our table and she Would walk past us and roll her eyes.. Soo sorry that we're taking up your table even though there's only a dozen other people in this place! Unless servers attitudes change we will NOT be back!

Thank goodness for Aurelio's! We have been eating at their restaurant in Illinois for over 30 years, and glad they are here. Never had decent Pizza since we have been down here, but now we can have it anytime we want. Pizza should be easy to make, but Florida just does not know how to do it.

Good pizza...OK atmosphere. If you are looking for a romantic dinner this would not be the place to go. However if you have someone who cannot eat gluten and is looking for the elusive GF pizza you have to come here. We went on Valentine's Day night and I was afraid that we would be waiting forever but only had to wait for 15 min. We were greeted by an enthusiastic balloon sculptor who made my kids crazy balloon creatures. We had the antipasto and it was very good, heavy on the lettuce and olives (yum for me). We ordered a large thin crust pizza for most of the table while my GF son got the GF 6" pizza. Their pizza is OK but we were mainly there so my son could eat a real treat safely. He ate the whole thing without hesitation and if he doesn't like something he is the first to say something. The pizza was somewhat salty, which I really like and was scorching hot when it came out. They do offer bake at home for both the regular and GF pizzas (doesn't taste as good as when they bake it) or traditional take out. We came here last year when we were in Ft. Myers and the first night we were back this year we went again.

We ordered cheesy bread and taco pizza. I didn't like the taco pizza to salty and its not good left over pizza either. Taco pizza has lettuce on top and doesn't microwave or toaster oven well. I will have to order another kind of pizza if I decide to eat there again. The cheesy bread was ok, not bad.

Kim waited on us and I believe that this is why I am only giving it two stars. She was slow, boring and lacked any kind of sense of urgency. We love the Naples location and after this experience would prefer that location over this one.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
