The lovely girlfriend and I had a fantastic dinner at the placida grill. We tried the fried oysters, the killer shrimp and the caprese special and all three were absolutely delicious!! We especially enjoyed the coconut sauce that the shrimp came in as well as the mozzarella cheese that came with the caprese salad! For dinner I had shrimp and scallops scampi which was delicious, and the lovely girlfriend had a wedge salad with a side of the seafood bisque. Everything was perfect. Our service could not have been better, lauren was extremely personable and gave us great insight on the menu. She did an outstanding job! Great service! Thanks lauren!! Great food, great atmosphere and even better service!! 5 stars for the placida grill! I will be back!

We stopped in for lunch on the recommendations of Yelp reviews. Don't judge a book by its cover. The setting in a non-description strip mall, and the name of the restaurant suggested we were in for casual pub style food. That notion immediately was put aside as we entered. Staff were very professional. They have a seriously good wine list, not your usual mass market supermarket wine (anyone who has Cakebread on their wine list is the real deal.) I am not a beer "snob," but their beer list was not your usual Bud-Coors-etc. selections. We had a lovely Pinot Noir. I had the Mahi Mahi fish tacos. Awesome! My wife is a crab cake fan, and had a salad topped with a crab cake she described as "delicious!" With the comfortable dining room, superb food and serious beverage choices, I can't wait to come back for dinner.

We are locals and this is our go to place! We have never been disappointed. Today's craft beer and shrimp platter off of the bar menu was perfect served by Colleen. Reservations for dinner is suggested as they have been discovered! Dinners have always been special. You can expect the freshest ingredients no matter what menu! They do it right here!

This restaurant is a "must visit"! You will not be disappointed. Their menu is fairly small, which is ok because they do everything so well. Service is always exceptional! Very nice people!

We ate lunch here one day after golf. It was very nice. Great service and quiet. I had a delicious burger and a salad. Hubby had fried fish fingers. They were huge and he said delicious. Some of the best in the area. I think the fish was Mahi-mahi.

I will definitely come back! The food was well prepared and very tasty. The service was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Ask for Lauren. Great selections and the ambience good for conversation.

Excellent little spot, quite honestly one of the best restaurants in this area. Great selection of dishes, wine list if awesome and a very good selection of craft beers. Came here with the family and had scallops, fried shrimp, duck sliders and the hog fish special. Will definitely be back.

We've been here several times and and are delighted with it! Have tried the crabcake, fried shrimp, fried oysters, tile fish over pilaf special and the Hubby had oysters and a steak. All were winners. Nice wines, too. Sunday Brunch was wonderful as well. Looking forward to our next visit.

Visited Placida Grill last week for the first time, we had a great experience. Don't let the older strip mall look to dissuade you from visiting. On Tuesdays during the summer, they have $30 dinner for two that includes a choice of salad and a large selection of entrees. We had Jamaican jerk chicken and chicken Marsala. The jerk chicken was very good and the Marsala was good but lacked significant flavor. I was a bit disappointed with the Marsala but it was not bad by any means. For desert we got the mango creme brûlée and it was very yummy. We will definitely be going back!

Delicious salad at server' recommendation. Dressing just right. Husband's burger was perfect and the hand cut fries were wonderful. Quiet and quaint, don't pass this one by. Lots of seafood choices as well as vegetarian. Something for everybody.

This place is great! They have a great selection of craft micro-brews in both bottle and on tap, along with an excellent selection of wines. I sat at the bar and had great conversations with the others there. It had a real real local flavor with an upscale flair. I ordered the scallops over lemon risotto and it was delicious. Highly recommend!

Great food and a super pleasant staff. We ate here 2x during our 4 day visit with family. If that isn't a ringing endorsement I don't know what is.

Had dinner tonight with mom. It was outstanding! Great food. Nice choices of beer and wine. Bbq rib special was outstanding coming with sides of orzo Mac and cheese, sweet corn pudding and streamed veggies. I had the Thai shrimp with basmati rice. Great meal. Followed by a slice of key lime pie. My new favorite place. Oh, and great service!! I'll be back!

Thank you local "Yelpers". We are new to the area and followed you're reviews and suggestion to Placida Grill. As soon as we walked in the door the bartender greeted us with a smile and let us know one of the hostesses/waitress would be right back. The wait staff is very friendly and accommodated specials food requests without batting a pretty eyelash. The food was excellent - the Killer Shrimp was a perfect mix of spicy and sweet. Great staff and excellent food - I'm certain this will become a favored local eatery.

We arrived at Boca Vista Harbors in Placida for a couple days of vacation. This is the first time we have vacationed in this part of FL. Of course, we weren't sure where to go for dinner. We knew we wanted fish. While checking out the complex, we visited with 2 couples in the swimming pool area and they recommended that we go to the Placida Grill. The restaurant is located in a strip mall but once inside, we were pleasantly surprised. When you enter the restaurant, there is an intimate bar area with about 10 bar stools. There is also a high top table which seats 4, that is where we sat. In the adjacent room is more seating. The tables were all set up with linen tablecloths. The bartender was knowledgeable on the selection of craft beers and wine. He was extremely friendly. Our waitress was outgoing, polite and did a great job explaining the specials of the day. Besides the regular menu, they also had a bar menu. J ordered the Shrimp Poor Boy sandwich with french fries. He felt there was nothing special about his sandwich, bland no flavorful shrimp or sauce. I ordered the Quinoa Salad with Blackened Salmon and it was delicious and flavorful. I love salads with a crunch factor & the pumpkin & sunflower seeds did the trick. The prices were comparable to other restaurants that we have dined at. I would have given it 5 stars as I loved my salad & would go back & ordered it again but with J not impressed with his sandwich, 4 stars it is.

This restaurant delivered absolutely delicious dishes! I had the Lane Snapper which came in that same afternoon and was cooked to perfection. My dinner date had the Salmon Tostada Stack which was delightful! Then for dessert we had the award winning bread pudding which was exquisite! We highly recommend the Placida Grill!

Pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem! The strip mall location doesn't do it justice. Food was delicious and service was personal and exceptional!!

This place lives up to the hype, the SantaFe burger was delicious. Friendly service, quality food and reasonable prices.

Food is excellent!! Great waitstaff, Nicole is very knowledgable. I had the parpadelle and added shrimp and the fried chicken meal was amazing! The butterfingers creme brûlée was phenomenal!!! A must restaurant in Englewood!

Excellent service and fresh, quality food. Vegetarian choices. All locals should come here in summer !!!!

Excellent food. I had the killer shrimp and it was the best meal I've had since moving here. My husband liked the chicken Marsala. My father had the Kobe beef slider which came with 3 good sized sliders, said they were delicious. The killer shrimp comes with rice and a wonderful coconut sauce reminiscent of really good curry. Along with crusty French bread for soaking up all that coconut goodness.

Food and service excellent. Scallop dinner and tuna dinner, the BEST! Probably smart to call ahead for reservations. Very friendly and well informed staff.

Honestly I didn't expect much from the Placida Grill. It's right on the main road, located in a little strip mall. But I'm SO glad we stopped in. The ambiance is nice, not cheesy, not dark, not loud. The menu isn't huge which is a good thing. Smallish menu equals fresh food. The wine list was surprisingly diverse. And the star of the show.......the food. Literally perfect. Our meals arrived in a timely manner and both were piping hot. This tells me that the kitchen crew has their timing down, big props for that alone. Nothing was over cooked or over spiced. Again, literally perfect. And the service was top notch. Our server (Nicole) was extremely attentive but not smothering. Her timing was extremely professional, never interrupting when you had just put food in your mouth and asking how everything is (huge pet peeve). We will definitely be frequenting this establishment, if you're smart, you will too.
