About Papa Murphy
Papa Murphy is one of the top pizza chains in the United States. Papa Murphy was formed after the merger of two popular local pizzerias namely Papa Aldo's and Murphy's respectively. The trend of "take and bake" pizzerias gained popularity in the United States during the early 90s. The growing popularity these two take and bake pizzerias located in Hillsboro, Oregon and Petaluma, California respectively gave the idea of a possible merger to Terry Collins.

My daughter loves the gelato but expect the typical tourist trap of overpriced. Cute, quaint atmosphere. We try to go by whenever we pass by per my daughters request.

Fantastic. I had the chocolate and peanut butter fudge, and it was awesome. Ditto for the turtles and chocolate melt aways. Make sure you stop here if you are passing by. NOTE: Yelp has the wrong address listed. It is actually at 75 Market street.

Nice people, chocolate was expensive and disappointing. Sad because it looks good and the shop is nice. Too bad it falls victim to the tourist trap quality level so many places do which don't have to depend on return visits.

chocolate cream pie was excellent per my husband. My coconut macaroon was perfection. the owner was friendly without being obnoxious. Coffee was typical of anywhere else, but I'm not a coffee snob. Gelato was delicious, all three: chocolate, lemon and caramel.
(5)Ang K.
This little place has a great charm to it. There isn't a big selection but you are assured that everything they do have is delicious. Plus, you can see where they make the chocolate right there behind the counter! I really enjoyed picking out bits of chocolate, but they do run a bit expensive and charge by weight. Then again, it's all handmade and I'm sure they don't get a lot of business so I can't be mad at them. We bought 6 bite size pieces of chocolate and paid around $12. ALL of them were YUMMY! I particularly enjoyed the caramel squares. Definitely stop by for a bite!

Fantastic ice cream! We only stopped here for ice cream, and it was delicious. I had mint-chocolate chip in a homemade waffle cone. They were also kind enough to provide me with a cup of water for my dog. My friend enjoyed the vanilla bean ice cream in a cup and said that it was also delicious.
(4)Donald R.
Do NOT use the map feature because it sends you to a public housing project. The shop is just off Water Street, NOT 15 blocks away as the Google Map shows.
(5)Neely M.
A little pricy but many chocolate options. Delicious coffee and very friendly staff. They roast their own beans and you can taste the quality.
(3)Simone N.
Very cute chocolate shop! I loved the exposed brick and the old fashion feel this place had to offer. It had an attached art gallery on the back end which was kind of cool. A bit out of the ordinary but the guy working it had the cutest little puppy named Paco. He made my heart melt! I did not have a chance to try the chocolates even thought it all smelled amazing and they had melted chocolate rotating in a bin on the side (drooool) but I did have the ice cream. I tried the Vanilla Coconut and it was delicious. It really hit home for me! They only accept cash or check no card which is a bummer because who carries cash these days? The prices are on the higher end. A bit expensive if you ask me but that's how all boutiques are.

They have moved to a larger building right on Main Street 98 / 3:19.... It's easy to find. Besides the gelato and chocolates and coffee drinks and pastry they are now serving light lunches at the most unbelievably reasonable prices! The chicken salad sandwich on homemade Greek bread and the humongous hot dogs , are the freshest and tastiest and the best buy in this resort town. Forget the other high-priced, tourist trapping, so called restaurants... Go to Georges Cafe, the Apalachicola chocolate company, and relax with your family and enjoy a great sandwich, at a great price. They also have homemade soups and whipped cream coconut cream pie. Kid friendly, my children and grandchildren love this place!

Went in for the coffee, didn't have any Gelato or chocolate but the coffee was great.

A "must go". If you're walking around historic downtown Apalachicola stop in for some fresh gelato, chocolates, caramel and espresso or coffee. Great variety too!

** They do not accept debit/credit cards** As of September 2013. Other than that, a very nice place to get something sweet! I spent waaay too much $$ in here, but I am a chocoholic with a major caramel addiction. Both were delicious here. The man that helped us was very funny and was the owner or the head candy maker. He referred to "his" recipes, chocolates, etc. he also taught me proper chocolate/caramel care. I never put my chocolates in the fridge, but I never really knew why... Now I do! I purchased 8 turtles, 2 caramels, and 4 Turkish delights (I shared, as much as anyone would take, and still have a little left, 4 days later:)) all that cost a little over $30. I had a mini heart attack when he told me the total, but hey I was on vacation and all of it was yummy! Turkish delight was something I had always wanted to try, and was different texture-wise but still yummy! The caramel was also a different consistency than I had ever had. The chocolate man claimed his recipe didn't stick to your teeth, and it didn't! It was quite nice, and very vanilla-y. There is a gelato station & a coffee shop in the back of the store. I was so focused on my candies and how much I had just spent that I barely noticed anything else. Like I said I have a problem...

The coffee here was DELICIOUS. The chocolates look delicious too but, everything seemed outrageously expensive.
(3)Ken B.
Very friendly staff and the gelato was really good. Loved the Amaretto and the Wild Cherry Gelatos. I thought the chocolates looked like they would be good but was scared off by the 19.99/lb price tags.
(5)Kathy M.
Stopped in for just a piece of chocolate and got so much more. They have a wonderful space/gallery behind the chocolate shop, it's worth a look while eating your dessert. We talked to two gentleman about chocolate making and they seem very invested in having the best chocolate shop they can. The chocolate is expensive, but quality chocolate in a boutique setting always is, so please don't let that deter you. We each had some dark chocolate and would definitely go back the next time we are in town.
(5)Sarah N.
Overpriced. Our selection of chocolates were stale- now we gotta walk around feeling ripped off all day.
(1)Sean L.
despite its touristy location/nature, this place is fairly tits. I was pleasantly surprised by my peanut butter and chocolate and caramel ishes. gelato wasn't anything crazy, but remember where you are. NOWHERE! so it's not half bad- I liked the chocolate. if I had to be a picky city fucker - their freezer cabinet was a bit too cold for the gelato. didn't let it shine to its max. I'll say the candies are where it's at. cash only here - worth a shot in my book. and most importantly, go to the fish shop couple stores down across the street. that place usually does me right. 3.5 starsish - in Atlanta, 3+
(4)Lesa T.
We stop in every year. Decent gelato , this year I tried Raspberry and Hazelnut. And don't forget to get a piece of the fresh fudge. Mmmm. Cash only. Come prepared and hungry.
(3)Debra D.
We always stop in to see George when we go down from Chicago. He has the best chocolate ever! We have access to the best chocolates here in Chicago and George's is always better. He also has gelato that is delicious.
(5)Jane Q.
I'm a chocoholic, and this place is the real deal. The owner was sitting behind the counter, hand-rolling his truffles, and answering any question I had. It is pretty expensive ($16 for 6 pieces?!) But oh-so-good. If I lived here I would go all the time.
