I discovered Bev's about 2 months ago and I am IN LOVE WITH THEIR BURGERS. The meat taste fresh and beefy, not like a frozen patty. The flavors are good. The fixins are always crisp and fresh. Unsweet tea is available and GOOD. I also eat my burgers bunless and Bev's will serve it this way. Definitely looking forward to my next DOUBLE DOUBLE w/ BACON, MAYO, KETCHUP AND TOMATOES ONLY! Shout out to Pauline. Always in a good mood and polite! Until next time!

You won't find a more miserable and horrible dining experience in the USA than this fine establishment here. I came with one other person, my girlfriend, on a Tuesday morning. There was no one else in sight. The lady working the counter was shouting at us with a nasty snarl from the get go. We were never greeted, no one said "Hello", she just slammed the window open and said "YES!?" She yelled "CAN'T HEAR YOU" with vile hostility while staring at the floor despite us yelling our order through the open window. It was as if taking our quick order was sending her to the Gulag. I had an immediate intuition that we should leave and go somewhere else, but forgave the extremely rude woman at the window, hoping the meal would make up for her behavior. The food arrived several minutes later, and I slam dunked it like LeBron into the trashcan after 3 bites. I have never in my life left a meal unfinished from a paid eatery, even if I didn't like it. The grits tasted like watery mucus from someone with chronic pneumonia. It was completely liquid and obviously purely sulfur water. I've eaten plain grits from the worst of places and they were outstanding compared to this vile specimen. The biscuits tasted like dried dog excrement. The scrambled eggs tasted like a rubber tire from the side of the highway. After reading all the good reviews, I couldn't believe how DISGUSTING AND REVOLTING EVERYTHING WAS. The service was what amazed me the most. My girlfriend was incredibly polite despite the woman being a scowling witch the entire ordeal. When she said "Thank you!" to her as she was handing us the food, she finally offered "manners" by snarling "WELCOME" and slamming the food down at us and slamming the window in her face. She literally slammed the food at my girlfriend for no apparent reason whatsoever. I went back to the window to calmly and politely ask why they acted like this, and they stared at me as if Satan had complete possession of their souls. I wasn't even upset at this point, just confused, mortified, and a little bit scared for my life. I honestly don't understand why they held such hostility to two paying customers trying to have a quick simple breakfast, it was the most confusing and amazing experience I have had in a long time. This was BY FAR my worst eating experience out of 50 states and 7 countries by about a million miles. I'll never forget this hilariously horrible experience, and would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANY HUMAN, ANIMAL OR VIRUS. I will do all I can to spread the word about how horrible this experience was. Stay FAR away!!!

Food is good but service extremely lacking. Last 2 times I visited...or should I say, tried to visit...they were closed early. Went again today and they closed right after we ordered (45 minutes early). People kept coming up and the employees just ignored them. They shorted someone in the drive thru an order of fries. When he came back they said "sorry our fryers are turned off" and didn't offer any substitution or refund.

I heard from others in the area that they have great food so I decided to give it a try. It was pretty good. I just had a burger because I wasn't wanting to pay $7-9 just for a combo. The line was forever long....like took forever to get through the line so that was a little discouraging. The burger itself was pretty good. I wouldn't say it was the best I've had but far from the worst. I would like to go back but don't want to spend all afternoon trying to get through the line.

AMAZING burgers!!! Brought back some great memories of a place I grew up eating at in Sanford called The Big Dip. The reason for the 3 stars and my ONLY complaint, the woman who took our order at the walk up was not polite and the sign they have posted that states....in laymen terms - we have the right to treat you whatever way we want if you rub us the wrong way. Very much a turn off and a poor excuse to lack in customer service. Watching her dump the "tip" cup at the window in front of us and count the tips, even more of a turn off. If the level of customer care and discretion matched the taste of the food - this place would be off the charts!

Bev's Better (than McD's) Burgers! Open...whenever! Ok: I wanted to love this place. Small town burger joint...what's not to love?! The burgers are good! To my palate, a little salt would go a long way and the onion had picked up some sort of funky cigarette ash flavor - but that's being pretentious. (Cigarette ash = smokey flavor!) A bug zapper would be pretty awesome too, but it's not what you would expect from this kind of place. I'll withhold a star because the food was, whole-heartedly, OK. My beef (get it?): the hours advertised are entirely 'Bullvine Scatterology' (punny!!). I went by 6-7 different times, different days of the week - it was open once. That's annoying. Would I order another chebugga here? Sure, if I'm passing by. But I won't go out of my way to dodge the flies to hope the place is willing to serve food.

A burger shack much in the vein of Mac's on 10th in Gainesville, but they manage to trump Mac's on two counts in my books. 1) They take charge cards. 2) They have breakfasts. Number two may not seem like much to you. But consider that the primary options here in Alachua are the omnipresent McDonalds, Waffle House, and Brown's, where I refuse to eat now. Then consider that their version of the sausage egg mcmuffin actually has a savory seasoned patty and an egg straight from the griddle. In other words, food that was cooked on the spot just for you. Mmm. Their burgers and fries are also excellent. I do not recommend waiting for your food in the covered patio area unless you want all your stereotypes about small towns in the South confirmed.

I had been wanting to try this place for a long time. Sometimes there is nothing like a good burger and Bev's won't let you down if you have that craving. It's a greasy burger joint and nearly perfect. The cheeseburger all the way (mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion) was awesome. The burgers are cooked to order, so it's hot when you get it. I wished I had ordered the large fries, because they were hot and good. Nothing fancy, everything is wrapped in paper and stuffed in a paper bag.

Not that I've had many burgers in High Springs... but "Best Burger in Town" is what everyone says. If you're craving a big greasy burger, this is the place to go. The fries are delicious, the burgers are scrumptious, but be forewarned, this is a local joint. And they LOOK local, in fact you can drive right by and never notice them. Expect to pay the typical burger joint prices - about $2.50 for a regular burger, and $5 for a more than 1 person can eat double. The onion rings were okay - but they were breaded rather than battered and that's just not our thing. The fries alone really are worth a stop.

The burgers were great. They were made fresh and tasted great. The staff is friendly. We enjoyed waiting outside on a beautiful winter's day. We will be back. The only downside was a lack of parking.

Having moved away this is still the best straight up burger! Oh how I miss this.

They have a great cherry coke for all of the coke lovers out there and I also love their corn nuggets

We placed our order and waited a while for the burgers, onion rings and drinks. Burgers were outstanding and the onion rings could have been. The onion rings were uber crispy but tasted a little like funnel cake, which they have on their menu (faint powdered sugar taste). I'd go back if I were in Alachua and wanted a burger.

Killer local burger place. Double bacon cheeseburger was awesome and the milkshakes are great. Cant beat the prices, and serving sizes are good. Every town needs a burger joint like this one.

I have been to Bev's many times, as an Alachua resident, and I can assure you that as of the writing of this review, they do, in fact, take credit/debit cards. I am torn, as to my favorite. I do love their burgers, but now that I have had the cheese steak....that's a tough call. The food does take longer, but well worth the wait. It is prepared to order. If you want McDonald's or other "fast food", then you will be sorely disappointed, because what you will get...is a meal cooked your way, exactly as you wanted it. It's not sitting under a heat lamp, waiting to be sold. Is it the "Best Burger in Town"....nah. It's pretty good, and definitely better than McD's or Wendy's. But it is a good burger, if you don't want assembly line food.

Delicious burgers and fries... done simply and quite well. I don't really wish that I lived in Alachua because it seems like a pretty quiet town, but I wish I drove by there more often so that I could get burgers from Bev's more frequently!

If I could give a 0 I would. I don't understand all the good reviews. I went to this joint because I heard good review. I am highly disappointed. first of all, the cashier was curt. when we arrived we were the only customers, so we decided to eat on the patio. after placing our order, 3 cars came thru the drive thru and were served before us. when we finally got our food, my wife took 3 bites out of her fish sandwich and I took 4 bites out of my sad little hamburger and threw it away. the fries were edible, but unseasoned. it was a waste of $15. because of poor customer service and low food quality, we won't be going back. ever...

I've been a long time Bev's Better Burgers patron, so I figured it was about time to write up a review. Before you decide to stop into any fast food joint in and around Alachua, make your way to Bev's for a made to order experience. As the name suggests, the burgers are better than what you'll get at most fast food shops, but not the best burgers in the world. I appreciate the candidness of the name. The business itself is a little building with a few outdoor picnic tables under a covering. They have a drive through line, and they do take plastic. As the food is made to order, the wait time is a little more than your average fast food restaurant. More than the burgers, the sides are what I enjoy the most here. I recommend ordering a few different sides and splitting them between a couple people. And if you're by yourself I recommend getting a few sides and eating them all by yourself...no one is with you so you can hide your shame at eating so much fried food. Bev's also serves breakfast, but I'm not as big a fan of it as their lunch. Most of the breakfast items I've eaten taste a little under-seasoned and are on average a bit dry. It's still a better option than a McDonalds breakfast, but not something worth going out of your way for. Back to lunch. What you should order in order of importance: 1] Corn Nuggets 2] Fried Okra 3] Small Fry 4] Single with bacon added. 5] Cola If that isn't enough, they have shakes and ice cream of which they serve generous portions. This is fastish food the way it should be done.

I also heard that this place had the best burgers in town, so i decided to try it out. Up until an hr ago, there was only two places in the world that could satisfy my burger cravings....my mama's house and five guys. A few reasons why this place is better than five guys....... 1. Wayyyy cheaper! 2. You don't pay extra for exra toppings 3. Your fries are packed neatly in their own little "carrying case" 4. Nice friendly country staff 5. Drive thru 6. Waaay cheaper! Overall, my burger was fresh, service was quick, and my fries and burger were cooked perfectly. Plus, you get to support a local business for once instead of putting your money into multi million dollar chains. Good job Bev!!!!
