All the food was great and Gregg our server was awesome. I got the sampler steam pot and it soooo good. We also loved the fried pickles. Overall everything was great and wish I discovered it sooner.

What was once a favorite place to go has started to backslide here lately. The food is still OK, but maybe not as good as it once was. The real killer for them is their service and atmosphere. On the past several visits, made at lunch over the weeks between December and now, the service has been very slow (due to lack of staff) and the restaurant has been rather chilly. I'm not one to really complain about a chilly restaurant at all, but it's definitely cooler in the the restaurant than most others. Get the wait staff beefed up and squared away, and get the heat fixed (or turn it up a little bit) and there might be some more return business. Keep going the way it's going, however, and there will be fewer and fewer regulars that stop by.

Went there last night, sat in bar area. Had some finger food. When food came out the hog hammers were cold, I sent them back and told manger to take off bill. This is the third time I have gone there, the first time I ordered a cosmopolitan which came to my table warm, it was not made with ice, and it was really just cranberry and vodka. Will not return for a fourth time, I would rather go to Arby's. I am a local also.

Food is fantastic. I mean its regular American pub type food, but it's very good. Love the buffalo chicken sandwich! I've had it several times. It's a nice big breast of chicken with great batter. Good beer selection. Fun place to grab a drink or dinner. Nice large bar and plenty of TVs for watching sports. I know it's a chain, but it's a great place!

Stopped into The Greene Turtle to visit a friend of mine, an ex-client, who happens to be a member and a huge fan (read: raving lunatic!). We sat at the bar and it was raffle night. We were given some stubs to win prizes (which we didn't), but it was nice to be included. It seems to be a tight knit group which was pretty cool to see. The bartenders were very friendly, and the beer selection wasn't bad. A lot of stuff that didn't really do it for me, but I can acknowledge as popular and can understand why they'd be on tap. They did have a bartender rip a phone book in half, which was cool to see in person. Listen guys, I promise you; I HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE. Why won't any believe me? Why? D: Anyways, after a few beers and dessert (which was chocolate, moist, and quite good) I called it a night. I'm sure we'll be back next time we swing by to visit, and I'll have to update this when that time comes. Until then, try to stop by and get to know some of the staff. They're very friendly and from my little experience, the food was good!

Ugh what a disappointment!!!! A 15 mins wait just for drinks and a 15 mins wait for each drink thereafter. We al ordered apps as our meal and we waited over AN HOUR for fried food...?! What the hell??? I ordered nachos which were terrrrrrrible. The waiter was so rude and short with me when I asked what the hold up was on apps.... He was "well it's not my fault it's taking forever..." Um, ok. Thanks. Thankfully I'm from nashville and I was only visiting so I'm not forced to patronize this establishment again!

I'll start off by saying two things. First, this Green Turtle is 100x better than the one in Chesapeake, VA and Two, I usually try to avoid the chain restaurants because they generally lack: fresh ingredients, originality and taste. In general The Green Turtle fits that mold so I wouldn't have gone unless I had too. Since this was the gathering place for my daughters lacrosse team I had little choice but to attend and smile. Ambiance: I won't bother with the description and ambiance because it's a chain so if you seen one you've seen them all. Service: Good but not great. They didn't do well dealing with our group and getting everyone's food out at the same time but at least they didn't bring out cold food waiting for the rest of the table. Cleanliness: The place was clean, dusted and the bathrooms well kept from what I could see. Food: Ok the Pretzel Sticks were good but the cheese was Meh. Processed and out of a can, which was predictable for a chain. The Maryland (Crab) Macaroni and Cheese was good but the salad that came with it was tired. They definitely need to think about serving cooler fresher lettuce. The Crab Cakes Sliders were also just OK. Again this place was better than others but still just OK. Overall: Taking all things in consideration I give this place 3 out of 5 Stars.

Green Turtle Lewes needs to improve their service and continue to add new menu options. I was surprised on St.Patrick's Day-no Green Beer or Irish Entrees, not that they are an Irish Restaurant

This place is horrible! By far THE WORST Green Turtle I have ever been too! The only reason I gave this place ONE STAR is for their polite apologetic attitude, otherwise they would have received ZERO stars. Recently stopped by here for dinner on our way home from the beach, the place was practically empty; a far cry from busy! The waitress was very nice however it took forever to get anything! She kept apologizing and saying how she was swamped with tables? Really? The bavarian pretzel sticks tasted as if they've been sitting under a gas station heat lamp all day, very gross and overwhelmed in salt. My husband ordered a sandwich without onion straws and when the food finally arrived, it had several onion straws on it as if they accidentally put onion straws on it and then tried to remove them before sending it out. Terrible! What if he was allergic to onions?? Seriously! Since someone other than our waitress delivered our food, we expected her to atleast stop by shortly after and ask how our food was, WRONG. She never came by to ask, nor to see if we needed drink refills (which me did!). The only time she came back by was to ask if we were ready for the check. I could tell she sensed some irritability because she sent the manager out to speak to us and to once again apologize because our waitress was 'swamped with other tables'. Really? Needless to say we didn't waste our breath, after a long day at the beach we just paid the check and left. Horrible experience, totally gives Green Turtle a bad wrap ... Hope they get their sh*t together SOON!

My new neighborhood bar/restaurant. Every one needs a place where they know your name... This is the place. ... good food and drink, bands on the weekend. ... love it

for a non veg friendly chain this place really went out of their way to customize a vegan dish for me. i had a big salad, sweet potato fries, and a hummus app. it was mediocre but i'm giving them 5 stars for doing the best with what they have. also my service was tremendous.

Service is so bad, and they don't care. Had to wait 10 minutes for someone to even notice we were waiting to be seated, another 20 once seated and no one acknowledged us... so we walked out. The place was not even 25% full. Can't comment on the food, but there are so many other choices in this area with amazing food that would appreciate the business. Will never go here again. This place gives a whole new meaning to Lower Slower Delaware...

In Brief: Good to average American cuisine and bar food. What sets the Greene Turtle apart is its atmosphere. Huge quantities of TVs, including one in every booth, it's the best place to catch the game in Lewes. More Fully: No restaurant can survive in this area with bad food, but the Greene Turtle is about as close to average as you'll find. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience, Lewes/Rehoboth offers a multitude of better choices. However, I eat there regularly, and always enjoy what I have. Offerings include good wings and tasty burgers, with lots of different options for toppings. It is, however, the premier place in Lewes to catch a game (or two, or three, depending on the season). The walls are decked out with Phillies, Flyers, Eagles, Sixers, Ravens, and Orioles memorabilia. The Turtle must boast close to 100 flat screen TVs, including one in every booth that you can control from your seat. Without turning your head you will be able to see at least three more on the walls. The bar is large, with tons of seating. The bar staff is dedicated to making you feel welcome and ensuring you have fun. They have a number of policies in place to encourage a crowd of regulars at the bar, such as the option to buy your own mug, which they keep on location and will fill at special draft prices. Overall: A good sports bar where you'll have fun watching the game and drinking a beer. The food is good, but won't blow you away.

Went to watch the race. Big spacious booths with individual TVs. Wings were great. Shrimp obviously from frozen. They ran out of bud light on a saturday night. What's that?

Good food, location, and specials. Great menu with a lot of choices. If you are trying to please the whole family, this is the place. The TVs in the booths are a huge hit. This is a regular spot for us when at the beach.

I feel the need to update this review and I apologize for not being a frequent visitor to Yelp to do this sooner. Upon submitting my original review, I was promptly contacted by the Greene Turtle Lewes location's GM. He informed me that indeed there was an issue that evening where they had suddenly become short-staffed. He did invite us back to personally compensate us for the time lost and to get us the meal we had originally intended on ordering free of charge. To me, anyone that immediately contacts a customer back to apologize for the situation is okay in my book. They have offered to make-right on a flawed experience, and I salute them for that. Unfortunately, we have yet to return to the Lewes Greene Turtle, but I can speak of how pleasant and clean the restaurant was the one time we attended. I believe that anyone that goes can have a positive experience. I have enjoyed the food at the Turtle's Rehoboth Beach location in the past, and as a plus, there are no parking meters at the Lewes location during any time of the year. If you want solid bar/comfort food just slightly away from the crowds of the Delaware beaches, you will enjoy the Greene Turtle.
