I have done some camping/backpack in the San Juan Wilderness and pass through Alamosa from time to time. My first experience with Milagros was pretty good. They had good coffee and decent service (2007). My latest experience was horrible though. My coffee tasted time creamy motor oil. I only tasted it twice before trashing it. My cousin got some soup and said it was alright. One bad coffee is enough to keep me away.

Milagros is THE place to get your coffee in Alamosa. My folks still live in the area, so every time I go down to visit I make sure to stop off here and grab a drink. Milagros serves up the standard coffeehouse fare: pastries, snacks, and light dishes... but their list of exotic lattes is where it's at. Spring for a Van Halen and you will NOT be disappointed. If God drank coffee, this is probably what his cup of joe would taste like.

Claire was a little irked at the lackadaisical service we received at Milagro's Coffee Shop, declaring that "the service at Milagro's was no miracle." However, I must keep my review positive since this appears to be the coolest spot in town with its array of funky décor and pleasant mosaic tiling throughout the space. They were open late to accommodate a live performance, something every small town needs. Their coffee is a-okay and the space is large and comfortable.

Milagros is a fantastic coffeeshop. You can tell right away that this is a community hub. Lively and thoughtful.

I am a fan of the open floor layout with lots of seating; short round tables, high tops, couches, chairs and tables out on the sidewalk. It was a refreshing place to study on a Sunday morning. Definitely check it out if you are in town :)

This is a great place and will soon be my favorite hang out in Alamosa. Wonderful atmosphere and unpretentious coffee. Simple homemade breakfast foods (like bagels and breakfast burritos) and organic wraps for lunch. Free wi fi and plenty of room to sit and work on a computer or read.

You gotta try their fresh pastries! And the coffee is pretty good, a little strong for my liking, but good! It's a nice little corner shop and I keep coming back!

Whenever we come visit our daughter (grad student at Adams State) we visit Milagros - not only is the coffee and food thoughtfully prepared and tasting wonderful - but the staff is like family and the mission is incredibly important - congratulations to all involved! Carrie A. from Las Vegas

Great lattes and a cozy local vibe! Stumbled across this place while checking out the city. So glad I went to this local establishment instead of getting my typical Starbucks! They offer a wide selection of coffee (including Organic and Certified Fair Trade) as well as classic and interesting creams including a Jalapeño creme (too crazy for my taste). The staff is kind and very coffee savvy and the location is in the heart of town. Definitely worth stopping by if in town.

Cutest coffehouse ever!! Not to mention the name Milagros is my mom's name so I might be a little bias. But really this place has some amazing cinnamon rolls, my boyfriend and I ended up getting two after I was eating all of his. I can't drink coffee but my boyfriend said it was pretty good. They have little knick-knacks to look at too to benefit the community. If charity is involve, I will usually love the place regardless. Overall sweet people, yummy buns and good coffee!

One of my favorite coffee houses anywhere. Not trendy; a real deal community hub that has it's finger on the pulse of Alamosa. Good coffee, full breakfast and lunch that is actually good; friendly locals; great staff. Enough space to have many places to sit; tables and chairs and the requisite couches and coffee table. When I visit here, I come in to get on the free WiFi and get alot done. Be sure to tip commensurate with the rent for the space you take, although no one is keeping track.

Disappointing. Really. First, it's lunch time. Do you really only serve breakfast? That said, if you are going to serve breakfast, do it correctly. The breakfast burrito looked like it was from McDonald's re wrapped for sale. I had the Breakfast panini. What was that? I could have been great. It was though, bad. Two slices of slightly soggy bread, two egg patties, and two slices of tomato. They did not even season it with salt. No garnish, no "special sauce" just egg patty, two slices of small tomato, and bread. I will not go back.

Laid back... Non-chain... Local feeling... Of course, it benefits the community with a side of great coffee experience. Right on Main Street.

Easter morning, divine! Great coffee, great food!! And, the staff is so very friendly! I am also a coffee snob, and not since a small shop in Southern Pines, NC have I had such fantastic coffee! Thank you for the lovely Easter breakfast...will go back on a drive through this summer!

I had two beverages this morning. My standard test of any coffee shop is a simple espresso shot. While being served correctly, the espresso was over roasted or possibly not ground correctly and tasted too bitter. The latte I followed up with was done quite well. The milk was smooth and clean tasting. Overall, everything tasted better than anything from starbucks.

This cafe has a wide and eclectic variety of drinks from the usuals (espresso, latte, cafe au lait, etc.) to some that I would never expect in little out of the way Alamosa (vietnamese iced coffee, turkish coffee, and a large selection of "exotic lattes"). There is a variety of baked goods, quiche, bagels and bagel sandwiches as well as soup available. The cafe has a small used bookshop in the back so you can kick back and read a book while you sip your coffee (or your Italian cream soda). The tables are clean and there are two couches for those that want to really settle in. The cafe also offers free wifi. The servers are friendly and the atmosphere is bright and artsy. The prices of everything, from drinks to food to books, are all very reasonable. From the sound equipment and mikes, I suspect there is also live music provided if you show up later in the day.

I love this place. Coffee was excellent. Many different choices. It was a nice setup colorful and welcoming. We were traveling and just dropped in and in an instant I felt like a local yokel. I love that I felt I knew the staff and that I was a part of Alamosa. I got a Van Halen and Hubbs got an Almond joy of course he would...LOL He always gets that. Anyway, I also got a snack for Sasha Belle. She was super happy, as you can guess. I also like that they have a journal that you can penn your experience or part off some of your great wisdom. They were drawing, jokes, stories, and quick notes of love. It was nice and I for one am glad that I got to share in part of it all.

I don't want to say I'm a coffee snob but I do like what I like. I ordered my usual, an Iced, Vanilla, Nonfat latte, okay, so yes I'm a snob, I admit it. The guy looked a little confused at first but rolled with the punches and did his best. They don't have cold cups, no hard feelings so it was served in a hot cup. Overall the drink was satisfactory, it needed a stir. My first sip was all vanilla, and then the rest of my drink was missing the vanilla. The guy helping me was wonderful and welcoming and even asked me if I was new in town, I guess I have "I'm here on business" written across my forehead, it was appreciated none the less. The feel of the place is what I really enjoyed. Right on Main Street in the mix. Clearly the coffee joint is the one all the locals come to. They have local artwork on the walls and it's all for sale, for relatively reasonable prices. When I return to Alamosa I will definitely return for my morning coffee. I love nonprofit places that support the community. I will be a return customer.

I just had a most wonderful coffee experience at Milagros this past weekend. Thanks to Yelp, I knew where to get my coffee. Thankfully, if I did forget where to go, Milagros advertises all over the city, so they definitely make you aware. We only spent a day in Alamosa, but I was thankful to check out this place. A nice coffee shop that does a latte right.

Favorite spot to go to in Alamosa when I am visiting. The pastries are always excellent. Great place to hang out, free wi-if and plenty of reading materials. The only suggestion I would make is having a few more savory items - my children loved the desserts (of course), but it was hard to get them interested in quiche or a wrap.

This coffee shop is good. They have many barristas and some are not as well trained as others. Most of the time the espresso is fine and the latte is fine as well. Super good cinnamon rolls (large) and brownies. The lunches are OK. My favorite is the wraps when they come with sweet and spicy Thai sauce. I wish they had more savory stuff to offer. One cinnamon roll or one brownie can be split in quarters and the split is enough for one person.

Great little coffee shop with sandwiches and ice cream too. Prices are great, proceeds go to charity. Internet is fast, reliable and free. Don't drink coffee but everything else is great!

This is wonderful! Fresh, yummy pastries, breakfast and great coffee. Driving to Colorado and this was the perfect breakfast spot!!

Clean, comfortable coffeehouse with friendly baristas, wireless, delicious coffee, generously sized sandwiches, and profits going to charity. What more do you want, really?

Delicious coffee, good pastries, tasty breakfast! It's not a "real restaurant" since they only serve a limited breakfast, but we're so glad a friend told me about this place! If there are cinnamon rolls in the case, GET ONE. Cinnamon-y molasses-y goodness in a thick hearty dough. I'm a big fan of the Mexicano latte. I had them two mornings in a row. Bring your own cup and get a discount. We picked up a turnover, my latte, and a ham and cheese square (a lot like a croissant, but square) for snacks on Saturday, then ate a full breakfast in the cafe on Sunday. The pancakes with a bit of corn in them were terrific, good eggs (Organic even!), but the best part was the locally made sausage patties. I hadn't had sausage that good in about 20 years. Friendly service, tasty food, excellent fair trade coffee with inventive and delicious combinations, supporting a great cause - drop some extra cash in the donation jar after you read about La Puente and the founding of Milagros. We're fans and will be sure to stop in again next time we pass through Alamosa. Now... to get this to show up as a restaurant, at least for breakfast!!

I highly recommend the Mexicano "caliente" (hot/spicy) and over ice on a hot day. I know the wording is weird, but it was so good I went back for a second one on my vacation. The business model is really cool: everyone gets paid then any extra money goes to support local charities instead of into a greedy CEOs stock profile. It's a perfect example of being happy with enough versus always wanting more. Keep up the good work!

Great place to give alamosa some coffee culture. Ordered snicker doodle cookie, butter croissant, Chocolate crossaint, creme brulee latte, vanilla milkshake and hot chocolate. Everything was delicious especially the croissants. I will be back everytime I'm in Alamosa. Oh they also serve Shamrock Ice Cream.

I'm giving this place 3 stars. They were out of bagels, cinnamon rolls, chocolate ice cream for my friends kid milk shake. Their bakery shelf were all empty. I can't imagine Monday morning being super busy that they sold out on everything? No. They just didn't make anything and prepared for customers! One perk they had, was fresh made warm butter croissants. Their latte are ok, they have a lot of selections to choose from.

Was worth stopping at. Nobody exaggerated about the cinnamon rolls. They were to die for! The organic breakfast that is bragged on--only served on the weekends. So we were slightly disappointed about that--nothing a cinnamon roll couldn't fix.
