It's okay. Nothing too special. Was a lot better years ago.

I have come to Coyote Cafe many times for dinner with my friend and his parents and it's always great. Service is impeccable and the food tastes very homemade and always comes out Hot! This morning I had breakfast here for the first time and for someone like me who craves eggs benedict this is the perfect spot because they have SIX different versions. I ordered the one that has, diced chicken breast, mushrooms, tomatoes, and poached eggs with hollandaise all over the top. Soooo good! My sister got the breakfast sandwich with a side of chocolate chip pancakes and she said it was also amazing. I highly recommend for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

I love this this place it's small and everyone is so friendly and for the amount of food they serve. Prices are phenomenal and it's so delicious. I highly recommend
(5)Heather S.
At least once a week we have lunch or dinner over there.. The food is delicious and reasonable.. Love these place!
(4)Cristina T.
I take my kids here quite often for Sunday breakfast. I like the relaxed, but professional atmosphere. The food is served hot & fresh & fast! The overall service is great & so is the food. Will surely be a longtime customer. We also go our when we have family in town.
(5)Patricia M.
Hidden gem of vista! Not much from the outside but when you walk in it makes you feel at home. From the friendly staff to cute decor. Then there's the food, amazing! PB and banana French toast was so delicious I kept eating even tho I was full. Highly recommend everyone comes to eat here.

When we first moved to Vista and found Coyote Cafe we were happy to find a place to get good home cooked meals, reasonable prices and good service. Over the years that has changed. Although the service is still good and the place is comfortable and clean the menu has changed and not that good. Prices are also high for what you get. I had the grilled Cajun Mahai and it was so salty I took 2 bites and left the rest. My wife had the grilled chicken salad. Chicken was very dry and the salad was basic at best. $30 was way to much for those meals. Won't be going back.

In all my Vista years I've never been here. In the last month I've hit here 5 times for breakfast. Very friendly staff, the food is very good, fresh, quick. They have a stack of choices for eggs Benedict and you won't be disappointed. They make their own corn beef hash, yum! Few choices of french toast and the fresh seasonal berries for pancakes, my choice was the blueberry pancakes. Their chicken fried steak is tender and very filling, served with eggs. I highly recommend this joint for breakfast.
(4)Lynn A.
Been going to eat here since my girls were little!they all grown up an all these years I've never had a problem with anything here!Jackie has been there all these years!she is still a super server with superior service!thank-you!!!Lynn and Johnny!;)
(5)Kasey G.
Great food and great service! We stop here on the way home from church on Sunday mornings.
(5)Katee D.
Coyote cafe is our go to breakfast and lunch....almost always. Turkey club, crab cake and California Benedict, chicken fried steak and eggs, chicken club and ABC omelette are some of our faves. Hospitable service from a family environment. We come all the time :)
(5)April W.
Do we were having a family day. And were looking for new places, since we just moved. Of course we used yelp to find this place. Reviews seamed really quite good. And a late breakfast on Sunday is almost impossible to do. But we were seated pretty quickly. It was busy. Menu had lots of options. Kids ordered pancakes and eggs. Both ate all. I ordered the coconut and banana waffle and added eggs and bacon. Eggs were a bit over cooked. But the rest was very yummy. My husband had the most complaints. Which were: there was no butter on his toast, omelet was dry, hash browns weren't cooked enough. ( honestly he could have just woken up on the wrong side of the bed) I'm sure we will be back. Since church is around the corner.
(4)Lucy A.
Great place ! Always come here on Father's Day. Good prices for the food. Clean and friendly
(4)Joel B.
The food was good, bit the service was terrible. We had an older lady server, server number 2, the reason I don't know her name is she never said so much as "hi"! No intro. Zip. And it was clear that she hates her job. It was also very apparent that all the other staff are extremely uncomfortable with her, as they were picking up her slack.
(2)Laura S.
We had chicken fried steak, Hearts benedict, CA benedict and coconut banana waffles. Delicious all around and great service. Good bloody marys too! We live right up the road so we will be back again and again I'm sure.
(5)Erin F.
First time in here for dinner (because reviews on yelp were good) and loved it! This place is great for families, couples or friends to hang out and talk; there are nice big booths or tables, and even a bar. The coffee is good! I want to bring my friends here! This place is definitely worth trying! I had the carne asada plate- delicious off the grill! There are TV's, good service, quiet location, food is beautifully presented and cooked well! I like it
(4)Amy H.
This place was really good! I wasn't sure how it was going to be since it seemed like your typical diner. They were quick, polite and the portions were huge! I ordered the traditional breakfast with two scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries and a pancake. Eggs were a little soft for my liking but I'm weird about eggs anyway. Home fries were delicious and the pancake was amazing!! I couldn't even finish everything! It wasn't badly priced either!! Would definitely go back again!!
(4)Tim C.
Always good food, good service and good prices.also, they have a nice meeting room for larger groups that is semi private. Very near North Coast church.
(5)K C.
Delicious food. Yummy French dip just one thing too many fries for me. House made tiramisu!! Best I've had in my life do far.
(4)Blake H.
My family occasionally goes to Coyote for a casual meal and we always get good food. I like the sandwiches, especially the grilled mahi sandwich, but really everything from the breakfasts to the burgers to the pasta is always well prepared and delicious. The only thing there I don't like are the milk shakes but my kids would strongly disagree with that. Service is usually great.
(5)Jiin B.
Just had a lunch at the coyote cafe for the first time. This place is amazing!! Interesting menu, huge portion, taste great, and very friendly service. I have no idea why i havent tried this place earlier. Will come back soon !!
(5)Jannies B.
Stopped by because we were somewhat in this area and relied on yelp reviews (my fault for not validating who wrote it, should have stuck to frequent reviewers and not those with only a few reviews). Here's what we ordered: 1. CA. Omelet--ok...best dish out of everything we ordered 2. Huevos Rancheros-- no bueno. It simply doesn't taste "fresh," but rather "processed (canned beans, canned jalapeños) only thing fresh was avocados. Good avos. :) 3. French Toast-- no syrup with it and our critic said it wasn't sweet. Keep I'm mind she typically can't stand too much sweets! 4. Waffle w/blueberries-- ok. 5. Hot chocolate--looks pretty with whip cream and chocolate syrup on top, but way too sweet! Waitress was nice but very busy (they were all multi-tasking). Needless to say, we didn't get that much attention. Not their fault though and they were nice. Total bill: $45 with tip. I expected a little more for what we paid for breakfast...especially given that it's inland in Vista. I think we will go back to coastal next time! Although I only ate 1/5 of my food (at best), still feel the need to go back to steamed veggies and detox a bit! My tolerance for grease is getting lower...
(3)Christopher I.
Good Home Style Cooking. Really like the Chicken Fried Stake with country gravy. Been going here for many years as one of my go to places in Vista along with Vista Way Cafe.
(4)Val S.
Their jalapeno popper sandwich is AMAZING. I loved it! I thought their apple pie would be good too but it was adequate. They just cut a slice and microwave it. Other than that... the service was a little slow but overall a good experience.
(4)Joseph L.
I had the huevos rancheros. The food was cold. The sauce they used tasted really funny. The beans were Rosarita refried out of the can. I have eaten enough of those to know. Maybe I should have gone to a authentic Mexican restaurant if I expected more. One of my sons had a bagel , scrambled eggs and hash browns. He said the hash browns tasted funny so I tried them. They tasted freezer burned. My other son biscuits and gravy and the portion was good size and looked good but the food was cold and he didn't eat very much. He said it didn't taste very appetizing . The total for the meal was $47.00 which I thought was a little on the high end for breakfast for three Plus the tip another $8.00. The service was ok . I probably would not go back . I've had worse. I can't believe all the good yelps about this place. Sometimes you learn the hard way.
(2)Wendy R.
Old fashioned friendly service, good breakfast, generous portions, variety of choices, clean. Usually quiet.
(4)Michelle E.
Came here for brunch a couple of times and our big party is always seated immediately. Service is courteous, as well as quick! Food is great. Sweet and simple! I ordered the Eggs Benedict with the hollandaise side on the sauce and of course a side of sliced avocado. Everything was delicious and the portions are huge; big enough to share! My favorite part are their pancakes. They are cooked to perfection. The texture, the consistency, the flavor, and the ratio of soft to crispy = perfect! Will come back to this place whenever I'm in the area.
(5)Brian R.
Since Yelp doesn't do halves on stars it got rounded up. I wandered in here yesterday with my wife while we were in Vista. She was hungry and there it was, so we went in for a late lunch. We were given dinner menus, no biggie, the prices were reasonable. The food was generous for the price and the service was good. The clientele was on the older side and the daily specials were aimed at older people. The specials included everything, but a drink. All in all a reasonable experience.
(4)Jesse C.
My buddy Wayne recommended this restaurant and didn't' disappoint. See you again real soon. Thank you.
(5)Christian B.
Decent food, generous portions of tomatoes and avocado, price was about 1~2 dollars more than other places of comparable quality and location. They agreed to our request (2 of us) to get a booth, we just had to wait about 10 minutes for one to become available. Very weak coffee :( We won't go back.
(2)Terri D.
Was a regular for about a year. Good, fresh, home cooking style meals, but we had a few bad experiences. Always mid-week. The first was a plate of nachos with REALLY stale chips. The replacement meal came about 1/2 hour later....they weren't busy. The second time it was rancid fish in the fish n chips. We stopped going for a while, but found that if you go on weekends it is always good. Heard they have a cook that only comes in mid-week. Not sure if it's true, but we won't go back on a Wednesday.
(3)Eric H.
Nice atmosphere but the service is very slow. Have to chase down a server to get more water or to inquire the whereabouts of our meal. They could do with more mature servers. People at other tables who ordered after us got their food before us. Pricey for the wait.
(2)Rhiza D.
Our server was so friendly, randomly found this place on Yelp after going to traffic court with my boyfriend. I had an omelet w/ bacon, pepperjack, and avocado. DELICIOUS. Meal also belonged w/ sides I got hash browns and their homemade biscuits (which are also delicious) Great little place, especially their breakfast. My meal was a little less than 10 dollars, a great price for all that. Way better than any iHop or Denny's that overprice the hell out of you. The guy next to me was complaining about the prices, but they give you great big portions and I find their prices reasonable compare to iHop 14 dollar omeletes that aren't even that great.
(4)Carlos A.
So I have to share my awesome experience at coyote cafe. I've been coming here for a couple of years and has been one of my favorite places in north county. Clean, always greeted with a smile and the young vibrant servers check up on you to be sure you are having a great meal and service. This is a family owned business and it shows as you come walking away feeling satisfied and part of the family... keep up the great work and tasty food... and of coarse the beautiful smiles and I will remain a loyal customer. (((3 Thank you Katie and Sami as well as the rest of your team for an unforgettable experience!
(5)Samantha W.
I have been coming here for years but I think they have changed the owner or something because it has gotten so much better! The food is great the waitresses are great and it's close to home which makes it better! Definitely our new go to place for breakfast!
(5)Mario P.
Such a great breakfast!!!!!!!!!! My NEW favorites place.
(5)matt m.
Got there today at 2 PM, did not get my food until 3 PM. Took them 10 minutes just to come and say will be back to take your drink orders. Took another 10 minutes to get the drinks. Tip, when arriving there make sure there's more than one waitress, if not more than one waitress, turn around and walk out.
(1)Kat Z.
Foods always good, service us good, omelettes are yummy, turkey club is amazing and huge....but..bring back the steak fries!!!!!!!!
(4)Gayle R.
This is a "good ol' boys" Café. Just short of a truck stop right in the middle of town. The service is good, the food is good. And it's just a "colorful" place to go. We had the chicken fried steak.....the home fries are the best we've had in awhile...Good coffee. Kind of reminds you of the old café back in the day....know what I mean?
(4)Erica E.
Great little diner-type restaurant in a small shopping center. I go here every time I visit my fam-damily in Vista, and it never disappoints. Service is always friendly and quick. The food is pretty standard diner fare, but most everything is tasty and they have AMAZING french fries. I've been here for b-fast and lunch, both times fantastic! Great local spot- hit it up!
(4)Luciano D.
Straight to the point here: Great local cafe. Simple, quick, and good meals with good portions. Nice people with fast service. Clean restaurant. Definitely to return, probably to become a regular.
(5)Jackie B.
It's a diner. Fine to grab eggs but don't call it gourmet. You won't find brie, kalamata or even chicken sausage in these dishes. But you will find basic menu items, decent portions and plenty of coffee refills.
(3)Just Another Diner A.
As other Yelpers have observed, "it's a diner." Exactly correct. Diner atmosphere, diner menu, reasonable prices, daily specials, large servings, nice waitresses, unpretentious, meatloaf, mashed potatoes (probably powdered), brown gravy (almost certainly commercially made), breadrolls that are clearly bought frozen and then served with margarine. If you are longing for 1965, you have found it. I guess my expectations were low, hence my four stars. I tend to grade places that don't put on airs pretty easy. Not gourmet, but I don't go to a diner for gourmet. For what they are, they are just fine. I haven't had breakfast here, but I'd bet they do a decent Denver omelette with hashbrowns... it's that kind of place.
(4)Bethany B.
I'm so bummed to have to write this review. I really liked Coyote Cafe for many years. My husband and I would come here at least a couple times per month for either breakfast or dinner. We loved having a regular diner to go to in our neighborhood. We hadn't been in a while so last week we decided to head over for some dinner. There was maybe one or two other tables of people in there that night so we seated ourselves as the sign in front suggested. Sat down, ordered our drinks. Got our drinks and sat there for 20 mins being completely ignored while two other separate customers had come in, sat down and the waitress took their orders. That was it for me. I was so frustrated I left $2.50 on the table for the coke my husband ordered and we left. NOT COOL! The food here isn't all that great so no harm no foul. Bad service, too bad. Come to think of it only one or two of the waitresses are really nice. The others are not very friendly. So I'm glad I won't be coming back here.
(2)Ariel-Maria V.
Flavorful food. I got the corn beef benedict with hash browns and pancakes. It was really good. But good food isn't good when the service is terrible. I mean below one star. You have waiters looking at you knowing you need something because either you make a hand gesture or whatever but attentiveness does not seem to be a priority. I am really a nice costumer when it comes to restaurants but having waited on demanding costumes before I think know the difference between "service with a smile" compared to "oh crap they need something...I'm going to walk away now."
(1)Steven J.
Always grreat home cooking at good prices , fathers day breakfast was great, had the country fried with home fries and scrambled smothered in gravy. Came out smokin hot. They also have free wifi
(4)Cyd E.
This is a very local restaurant for us, we have been going here for about 16 years. Excellent home-cooked meals, the beer battered fish and BBQ ribs are favorites. The staff is excellent, this is a very family friendly place. Simple oods at excellent prices!
(5)Virginia L.
After my first visit a few weeks ago to the Coyote Cafe with my husband and elderly father who lives nearby, I'm going to have a repeat performance this week of having the absolutely BEST blueberry pancakes. Seriously, I'm a serious blueberry lover, and have been for about 55 years...these are hand-down, the fluffiest, most flavorful, so full of fresh blueberries (on top too!), pancakes I've ever had! My dad ordered the regular Belgium waffle, and he said HE had never had a better waffle...and in his younger years, he was known for his fabulously delicious waffles himself! Can't remember exactly what the husband ordered, but I do remember he really enjoyed it!,,,whatever it was! The coffee was very good and refilled promptly. The service was with a smile and efficiency. Do you think I like Coyote Cafe?! YOU BETCHA!
(5)TJ B.
Amazing hidden away cafe in vista, sweet next door neighbor servers offering a bountiful menu of delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner entrees that will become your instant favorites, causing you to have cravings for this place that no other can satisfy!
(5)Andrea S.
We had been here before, service is not great and good is okay. My husband and I came in and sat in a center table for almost 20 minutes waiting for service. The first person who approached us brought our waters and slammed them down on our table, appearing to be in a bad mood. 2 new tables were seated and both orders taken before us. We had to get up and leave due to the unprofessional and inattentive staff. Overall, the food is not that great nor worth the hassle anyway. A significantly better local breakfast place is Allen's Alley Cafe (small place, but great service and delicious food!)
(1)Mike P.
We come here a lot to eat breakfast. It's getting to a point we have to wait over 20 minuets just to get our order taken. Looking around at empty seats. Finally when waitress takes order i told her we were just about to leave and she laughed at us.. Wow! I'm not coming here anymore. It's time to find somewhere else to eat. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
(1)Blaine M.
White bread and mayo, combined with rtu's (ready to use) food. Low on flavor, blah. Genial and ready to please staff brought the rating UP to two stars. If your expectations are sufficiently low, you won't be disappointed. Chicken fried steak (my standard fare for assessing any cafe) was frozen, prepacked, and bland. Corresponding biscuits were Wonder bread simulacrum. Sad, sad, sad.
(2)Jose A G.
Always awesome! Great way to start your morning. I usually hit this place up on my days off. Bottomless cup of coffee. I tried the California omelet for the second time in 3 weeks. I add green bell pepper and a side of bacon! Great food, great service!
(5)Katy C.
Love this place! Service is generally nice and timely and they have some great food! Quite possibly the best Greek salad I've ever had!
(4)Amanda R.
Coyote is right along the same street as Vista High School. Back in my days at VHS my parents would give my sister and I an ultimatum. Either get to School an hour early or get there on your own. VHS didn't have a bus system for students. SO getting there on your own involved walking or ride the public bus. Needless to say us lazy teens chose a ride and being ridiculously early. To kill the time we used to come to Coyote's Cafe. Coyote's Strawberry pancakes sure took my mind off what a loser my parents had forced me to become. No disrespect here but there was mostly a senior citizen crowd here for the early bird special on the weekdays (aka School days). I don't think I ever had a breakfast here that I didn't like. That being said to give this place a biting chance you really must come here for Breakfast your 1st time. Check out the specials too. They change them daily.
(3)Jason H.
Only been here once but the food was awesome. I had the 8oz steak with eggs and crispy hashbrowns. Steak was cooked perfect and seasoned really well. My waitress was very friendly and attentive, always made sure I had a fresh cup of coffee (smoking hot too...not just the coffee). Nice little unassuming place with a good menu selection. I will for sure go back for the food and if I am lucky get that sexy waitress' phone number!
(5)Kat P.
Coyote is more of a diner than a cafe. They have classic home cooked comfort food. Fish and chips, fried chicken, meatloaf, basic sandwiches, etc. It's not fancy, it's not gourmet. It's just everyday food served by great people. The staff are always A+. Breakfast is definitely the best meal of the day there. Portions are huge. Almost all the meals their are enough for two, which is awesome since the food is so cheap. The only time I will not go there is Sunday mornings. It's packed.
(4)William w.
I am a regular at this place and it is worth it. The service and food are all top notch. Generous portions for those that have a big appetite and well priced. Samantha and Katie are rock stars so when you go there, ask or them. They will take care of you.
(5)Candice Z.
I was visiting my mom down in Vista a few weeks ago, and all her friends from church had told her to check this place out. So we went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The place was not super packed which was nice. And for the prices (about $8 a plate) we got a lot of food. I got pancakes & bacon (which they had no problem subbing out the eggs for more bacon, I love pork!) and I ended up having to take about half of it home. My coffee cup was never empty which was really a plus. And the server was sweet and attentive, but not OVERLY attentive. I wouldn't mind going back next time I'm down for a visit.
(4)Gretchen H.
Don't let the name fool you into thinking this is another Mexican Cafe. It is some of the best home cooking at very reasonable prices. Love their pork chops, roast beef, turkey, and friends love the Monty Cristo Sand. Meals come with soup or salad, main with veggies and potatoes and pudding for desert. They also have early bird senior specials and the waitstaff is friendly and patient. Trust me this place fits the bill - come try it. (no I am not affiliated with this place just a satisfied customer).
(5)Ralph G.
Coyote Cafe is a great all around dining establishment. They have a very good assortment of great tasting home cooked meals that will satisfy your breakfast, lunch and dinner appetites. One of my favorites is their delicious chicken, it's crunchy yet melts in your mouth. Their staff is always friendly and treats you more like family then just a piece of business. As the other review from KP states, Sunday mornings do get quite packed but outside of maybe having to wait a little longer, you still get great food & service with a smile!
(4)Kevin O.
I like this place, mainly because it seems out of place. It's the type of cafe you'd expect to find off the highway in a far less populated area out in the desert (hence the name, I suppose). The menu is nothing special and the food is average. But if you want a basic meal and are tired of the Spoons or Applebees that clutter up the world it's a great place to go. I use to eat here often when I lived near by.
(3)Sherri W.
Had a great lunch today at Coyote Cafe, the service was fantastic and the food was really good! It's in a strip mall but don't let that deter you.. They have a great set up you aren't sitting on top of the diners next to you. Lots of booths with semi tall walls which you can see others but don't feel like you are eating with the folks next to you! Our waitress was wonderful and I will definitly go back! I had a simple BLT with Fries and my friends had the Monte Cristo which I had not had before but will definitly order again when I go back to Coyote! It was outstanding! Prices are great also!
(4)Michael H.
I like this place. Comfortable, nice friendly employees, the 'usual' menu but big portions. It is one of my go-to spots when I just need to get out and get in touch with reality for an hour or so. Spend an hour, read a book or newspaper, enjoy some decent food served by good people. Life goes away for a while. Highly recommended.
(4)Eric A.
Great breakfast, friendly service. Try the breakfast sandwich.
(4)arleen r.
great food great service!!!!!!! the home fries are amazing!! looking for a great dinner with that home cooked flavor you have to eat here!!! need i say more!!!! not to mention it has that sweet mom and pop feeling!! as good as it gets!
(5)Denise A.
Visited this restaurant today after calling my order in. I ordered a Chicken Greek Salad with NO Olives. Picked up the salad and got home to discover that my salad was full of black olives. I called the restaurant very cordially to advise of the error when the owners daughter Amanda accused me of placing the Olives in the salad myself. I asked her what I would have to benefit from this and she stated that she remembered me ordering a Greek salad 6 months prior and that I had called and complained then also. Last thing I ordered from this restaurant was a French dip sandwich and this was my first time ordering this. I was offended by the owners daughters treatment and will not return to this restaurant. Quality of the food is important and if I had allergy's to olives it could have been medically negligent on the restaurants part. But to be called a liar and accused of placing olives on the salad was the issue at this visit. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you aren't catering to your customer then why be in business. I know that there are a lot of positive remarks on here and the quality of the food is not the issue. Its the integrity of the owners daughter that I question...
(1)Doug B.
Pretty average service and food. It's cheap but the food is uninteresting. My grandmother loves this place. That should tell you something.
(3)Nancy A.
I have been coming here for 20+ years, and it is one of my absolute favorite places to go on a regular basis. The portions are perfect, the food is always hot, the ice tea is always brewed perfectly. The staff is beyond great. I can't imagine not having Coyote Cafe in my life. My kids like the Quicky Lunch. Half sandwich, soup, and a piece of pie. I like the Nutella Crepes. Hash browns are always on point here. My friends seem to prefer the omelets and if I could eat eggs, I would absolutely order one. They look amazing. Lots of specials on the board but I always end up with my favorite things. I have ordered to go before also, and it was an easy phone transaction, ready when they quoted, prepped nicely, and I could enjoy my food on the go. But, the biggest reason I come back to this place again & again is that they never give us any inkling of annoyance when we sit over our glasses of iced tea and talk, sometimes for hours. A most recent example. I hadn't seen a good friend of mine since her family went through some really heavy stuff. We got a table in the corner and we talked for hours. The restaurant had closed early and we were so engrossed in our conversation we didn't realize the place had cleared out. The waitress apologetically let us know they were closed now. We apologized and she was upbeat and reassured us that we were totally fine, she just wanted to give us a heads up they were finishing up in case we didn't know they closed early that day, and we could stay until they were closing up the doors to leave. We obviously respected the staff's personal lives, and left before they were finished cleaning, but to be able to finish our visit together meant the world to me. Going to Coyote is like going home. It is here that I learned what "comfort food" meant. Thanks Coyote Cafe, for being a truly great place in every possible way.
(5)Caroleann B.
This update is over due. My recent visit to Coyote Cafe was in March. I met a friend here for lunch during the weekday. Luckily for us we missed the lunch crowd. The place hasn't changed much as far as decor. You still have the comfy feel when you walk into the restaurant. My dish was a BLT. It was quite delicious. There wasn't nothing fancy about it, but it had just the right amount of bacon, lettuce and tomato. There wasn't gobs of mayo, and the bacon was cooked to perfection. The food was served to us quickly. The service improved a tad. I would like to return to try some of the other dishes offered.
(4)Emily S.
This is a really interesting place. We lived in the Vista area for 10 years before moving to San Marcos over 10 years ago and it used to be a much worse area. Was pleasantly surprised to find a really cute place on the corner of a vanilla strip mall. I think the best is that they have a wide variety of comfort and creative food. I had the jalapeno popper grilled cheese sandwich. My daughter had the breakfast burrito and was able to get it vegetarian. The have something called "scrambles" on the breakfast menu I will have to try next time. The server was also very nice.
(4)Sarah S.
The chicken burrito and table side guacamole was to die for. Best Mexican I had in a while . Everything tasted very fresh. Also, I had a peach grande Margarita on the rocks. The size was unbelievable and the taste was even better. The atmosphere was a fun spot and a mariachi band played for us at our table side. Definitely have to check this place out if your in San Diego.
(4)Jen B.
I like the casual ambience. The boys and I usually sit at the bar. I just ordered a morning glory Benedict, very excited! Staff is sweet and the food is good. Not so into the televisions, but they are quiet and the music is great!! We will be returning and at that point my stars might end up changing
(4)Laura U.
My beautiful Vista Benedict with fresh fruit. Absolutely fantastic. Especially since it was served by my cheerful, lovely friend Jacque. I highly recommend this cafe for great food, comfortable seating and prompt service.

Good food. I got the chili cheese omelette with hash browns. Both were great. I like that you can choose between different toasts, raisin bread or a pancake with your meal. My son had the waffle which was nice and flavorful so much that he ate it without syrup. Knock off a star for service which was lacking. Waitress barely came around to refil drinks and they only give you 2 little packs of jam for the toast - grape and orange marmalade. Those are my 2 least favorite jellies and I need at least 4 packs for 2 slices of bread:) I don't blame the waiter for that but it's something they can improve on

We come about once a month and any time we need good comfort food in a comfortable setting. They have a good variety of items at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and helpful. We highly recommend that you try it sometime!

I have been coming to Coyote Cafe before I could even say Coyote Cafe and before Yelp existed! Yeah that's along time! I have been with this place through all the changes, but what remains the same is great quality home style meal for great prices! I would go try new breakfast places, but I was always comparing them to Coyote. My all time favorite breakfast is the Vegetarian Omelette with Hashbrowns, Sourdough bread, and plenty of coffee refills, and I'm not even a vegetarian. So unfortunately when they started adding broccoli, spinach, artichokes, or any other vegetable that wasn't in the original vegetarian omelette, I became slightly aggravated! I love those vegetables, just not in my omelette, and it was perfect already! Didn't have to change a thing! So I either pick them out or become one of those annoying people who says, "Can I have the Vegetarian Omelette except yada yada yada and oh yeah none of that either." **Cue** Rolling eye glare! Honestly, it doesn't matter what you have because everything tastes great such as: Hamburger/Cheeseburger, Half Sandwich/Half Soup Combo with dessert, Sweet and Sour Chicken (Specials), Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes, Pancakes, Sausage Breakfast Sandwich and much more. They don't ever disappoint! The waitresses as well are fantastic and always greeted me with a warm smile, probably because my mom and I are recognizable after our many trips here. It's always crowed Saturday/Sunday morning, so just have a little patience if service is slower than normal and don't worry, your food will be delicious and hot! The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because they need to change the Vegetarian Omelette back to it's original form! Onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, and mushrooms! No cheese either :P

Great service by all the lady's there. I haven't been in a while because of a budget but every time I go they are friendly and fast. The owner does a GREAT job at keeping up with the maintainer with the place. GREAT and tasty food.

Coyote Cafe was GREAT this morning!!! We brought our entire Vista High School cheer team in for breakfast after their "fun run". Our servers were SO accommodating to our large, crazy party. They had a room in the back all set up and reserved for us! They even allowed us to split the checks to make it easier on the girls (and us, their coaches!). We will definitely be going back for another fun run breakfast party. GREAT job, GREAT food, GREAT time!

This place ranks in the top 5 place for me. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is comfy and great. Our waiter was close to perfect and she really took good care of us and was consistently refilling our drinks. We ordered burgers, fried steak, and fried chicken. The selection of food covers every taste and the seasoning is on point. I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants a home cooked meal and great time!
