I give it 2 stars for the crispy fried onions that were delicious. But if anything could give tri-tip a bad name this place could. It was so tough and had stringy sinew that nothing could get through especially their little plastic knives. Like another reviewer we actually had to take the meat out of the sandwich to try to eat it.we finally gave up and had to leave half the meat.they should shave the meat thin maybe that would help. The salads and burgers looked good.I might try one of those next because im going back for the crispy onions.

Such a disappointment! Came here, excited, because of the gluten free options. Waited in a line of 3 people that still managed to take 15 minutes, get to the register and walk through my order with the cashier. She makes the substitutions so that my meal will be gluten free and I pay. As soon as I sign, the manager comes over to say that I cannot make the substitution listed on the gluten free menu they gave me because onion strips (listed on the main menu under side orders) are in fact a garnish. He tells me he can give me a garnish of spring mix greens instead of the roasted vegetables. I tell him that I am ordering off their gluten free menu which is simply a list of gluten free substitutions. He insists that he cannot substitute for what is considered a garnish. So I cancel the order for my entire family ($$) and walk down to Cheesecake Factory where they are incredibly gluten free friendly and for the same amount of money sat in a quiet booth and had table service. Sad that I wasted so much time and energy on this place. A total waste of time! Train your cashiers better, clarify your menu, and when a mistake makes its way to the kitchen, honor the customer for your business' errors.

I was so excited to see this place coming to the food court of the mall! I had once had it shopping at another mall and it was great. Well. This one doesn't compare. There are a few great things on the menu, but it's really hard to want to go back after seeing that this all mighty grill uses frozen chicken. When the staff drops the chicken on the counter and then puts it back into a container...I used to work in food and that's unsanitary and gross.

I love this place! I eat here every day since I work at the mall. Great customer service and awesome tri tip. Gotta try to 6oz bacon cheddar buck. It is served on a handmade French roll with an awesome red ranch sauce. Then stuffed with 6oz of medium rare tri tip and topped with bacon and melted cheddar cheese. It's to die for!!!

As far as "fast food" or "food court restaurants" go, Buckhorn Grill is my go-to whenever I'm nearby and want a delicious, mouthwatering and enormous portion of smoky sliced tri-tip! I have been a patron of the Metreon Buckhorn for a decade but checked out the local Buckhorn at Oakridge Mall and it was delicious as always. Grabbed a big buck sammie with au jus and side of roadhouse onions and the hubs got the roadhouse salad with tri-tip. We were there at the end of the night and the au jus was extra smoky; quick service, clean counter! Perfect pre-movie eats!

One of the better options for a food court. Their tri tip is nicely seasoned, tender, and moist. The first time I had the small plate tri tip. The portions could have been bigger, but for $9.99 it isn't bad especially in a mall. It comes with au jus, and self serve BBQ or creamy horseradish sauce. I was disappointed the horseradish didn't have much of a kick, rather mild, but it was still tasty and complimented the au jus sauce. Another trip I had the tri tip flatbread salad, which is thin pieces of steak over a caesar salad and flatbread. It's got carbs, protein, and greens. A great workout treat if you ask me! But I feel it could have been a buck cheaper since you don't get much meat, but you will get full. The flatbread goes well in this combination. You can wrap it up if you prefer. Reminds me of something you can find at Tomatina. Oh, snag a free sample to maximize your portions. :)

We were in the mall last night and though we would try their tri-tip. I ordered a "philly-buck" sandwich and roasted vegetables and a small drink - 13.99 with tax. The roasted veggies were large cut and pretty good. The sandwich was a disappointment: Two bites in I realized that the cheese was only on the outside of the bun and there were NO grilled onions inside. The meat was excellent and had a rich smoke infusion like they advertise. Too bad I was too hungry to notice the missing onions earlier or I would have gone back for the right sandwich.

Aha! Another good lettuce-wrapped burger! It's kind of a bummer that Smashburger is so close because if I had known that, I never would have tried this place out. It's pricey, so even though it was really good, I'll probably still go to Smashburger next time instead.

I see some people have some terrible reviews of this place but the food I got here was pretty good! I did the small plate which had tri-cut, caesar salad and a bread roll. It was plenty to split between my boyfriend and I and we thought it was quite delicious! I would come again if I felt the urge too.

The most disgusting 17 dollar meal in my life. I got the tri tip platter. The meat was cold, undercooked and extremely tough. They give u a butter knife to cut this, which was nearly impossible, i ended up going caveman style with my teeth to cut it. It came with veggies and mashed potatoes and cornbread. The veggies tasted like they were sitting around all day, the cornbread was so stale i had to spit it back out. Mashed potatoes were ok and they basically gave me so much of this i assume to make u feel full. This place is a joke, the food is nasty and overpriced. False advertisement, best tri tip in the world, i should sue them! Hope this place closes down soon, bring back great khan!

Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2014 CHECK IN on Yelp- to get $1.00 off your meal. Tried the Buckhorn Grill last week with my one year old son and future Yelper Ian J. Our order: 6 oz. Tri-Tip sandwich w/ shoe string onion rings and soda One kids meal, grilled chicken sandwich, with roasted veggies and milk The 6 oz. tri-tip sandwich was marinated and smoked to perfection, it was tender, flavorful and melt in your mouth delicious served up in a freshly baked roll with the most delicious au jus on the side. The shoe string onion rings were quite tasty as well :) I opted for the grilled chicken sandwich for Ian and he LOVED it! The only problem I had with the kids meal was the veggies were roughly cut into large pieces which had they been served with an adult meal still would have been cut too large. They definitely need to cut the veggies into bite size pieces not large chunks. For one combo meal and a kids meal my total was a little over $20 with tip included. The food was fresh and tasty but this is not your quick food court eats (it took around 25 minute for the food to come out and I was the only one waiting on a meal). I definitely would go back to Buckhorn Grill for lunch when shopping at Oakridge Mall.

I do not think there is a better mall food court restaurant out there. I had a bacon burger here yesterday and it is as good as, if not better, than a Red Robin burger. The lady working the counter was very nice and I got my burger in about 5 minutes. Smash Burger is just a few rows down, but I think Buckhorn gets the burger win. I haven't tried the tri-tip yet, but definitely going back to.

Overcooked chicken fingers and undercooked fries :/ Maybe next time I'll try one of their beef plates, since that's what they're known for. Pros: self serve dipping sauces including Sriracha!

Excellent grill! I eat here almost once a week!

It's always kinda hit or miss here. It really all depends on how long the food has been sitting. The tri-tip is usually pretty dry and tough. The chicken is really good and seasoned well. Grilled veggies are good, but they're typically wilted because they have been sitting vs cooked fresh. Overall, it's definitely a step up from typical mall food, but it also costs more too.

(this review is from February 2014, I never hit publish) I'm a huge fan of Buckhorn Grill in Sacramento, and the original Buckhorn Steakhouse in Winters. Really need to write a review of those locations. As happy as I am to see one closer than Dublin or San Francisco, the pricing is high even for food court food (though in line for a restaurant offering the same food) and the quality's not what I'm used to from other locations. Ordered the Bacon Cheddar Buck, 6 oz of tri-tip. Maybe it's the new location, but the steak was tough and difficult to chew while everything was way too salty (and I love salt way too much!). I miss the BBQ at the Sacramento location, but apparently only Sacramento and Napa carry full BBQ. 2.5 stars, rounding up to 3 from nostalgia and a burning desire to see the full restaurant version in the Bay Area. Will re-review a year later, I miss me Buckhorn...

Pleasantly surprised by this place. It boasts "the best tri-tip in the world," which is completely not true....Yet, the trip-tip sandwhich wasn't half bad. It had the general characteristics of barbecue, without being barbecued. The sauces were legit, and the horseradish even had a small bite, which impressed me. The customer service was good, and the place seemed clean and organized. The menu is priced well/fairly, and overall I would eat here again. Burgers are frozen, not fresh, we ordered one of those too...it was so-so. Overall, a very honest 3. Add me as a friend of you feel my review. Peace and Prosperity-

If you are hankering for a French Dip with au jus and all the restaurants have hour long wait times, try this place out! I love the French Dip sandwich with the mashed potatoes on the side...you can also get fries or salad instead. It's not the most amazing French Dip in the world but not bad for mall food court food!

Ever Crave Tri-trip??? Then this the place to take care of those taste buds demanding & yearning for some barbeque sauce on some tasty & delicious thinned meat. I ordered the Tri-tip sandwich with bacon & cheese....it was Goooooooood!

The food is great but I'm doing this review about the staff. I was at Oakridge yesterday and bought lunch at Buckhorn. I was watching one of the staff prepared sandwiches in plastic gloves. That's was good. She knew about sanitary BUT after preparing the orders, she went ahead and used the same gloved hands to handle trays and other things on the counters without changing her gloves. Then she continued to prepare more sandwiches. One customer confronted her but denied doing it. Later on I saw her changed her gloves after being caught. Her name was Rosie and claimed she was the store manager.

Thank you, Buckhorn Grill for gracing the likes of the FOOD COURT! Let me explain - I have never really been one who enjoys eating at a food court.... not that I am trying to be uppity or anything, but for the following reasons: - It's noisy. - The food's not good. - I always feel like I am bumping elbows with you, your mom, your grandma and your little baby brother or sister who is either throwing food all over the place, or shrieking in my ear. - It's dirty. - People are staring at me being annoyed at you, your mom, your grandma and your little baby brother or sister who is either throwing food all over the place, or shrieking in my ear. - And really, the food is not that good. But anyways, I still go to the food court cause it's easy, my boys love it and I don't really have a choice, cause my boys love it. But now that there is a Buckhorn Grill there, I approach the food court with a glimmer in my eye, my tummy grumbling and a quickness to my step. The Tri-tip is oh-so-flavorful - seasoned to no end. The mashed potatoes are thick and creamy, the onion crisps are truly crispy and the gravy tops it all off! I like that you can request for thicker slices and that the tri-tip is never hard and dry. The service is always great there too. Servers always smile at you and are super quick and friendly. Buckhorn also always has some type of special where you can get a child's meal free, or you get points for every time you visit, which saves you money on your next meal. $18.00+ for 2 orders of Tri-Tip always works for me! So yes, now I really do not mind that I am bumping elbows with you and your family, and I also don't mind that people are staring at me wolf down tri-tip, mashed potatoes and gravy. In fact, I do not mind anything I listed earlier at all, as long as I have Buckhorn Grill!

Yummy steak salad... Decent price for quality you might find in a good restaurant but the convenience of a mall food court.

For a restaurant in a mall food court, this was a yummy surprise! I ordered the California burger, my daughter got the avocado bacon chicken sandwich. Both were juicy, cooked well, and the burger had a nice, slight smokey flavor. It was damn tasty and I hope they don't disappear anytime soon!

Delicious quality food is what you get here at Buckhorn Grill. Whoever thought you can get that at the food court!? Customer service: everyone is friendly and I love how one day I was sitting down and an employee from Buckhorn actually came by to greet me and ask how my meal tasted. What food court mall food does not? ONLY Buckhorn Grill of course. Food: What is there not to like here? From there salad to tri tip to sandwiches you will not be disappointed! Will I come back? Hell yes!

A little pricier than the other food court options, I was still happy to see Buckhorn Grill open up. With an expansive menu ranging from burgers to salads to plates of meat (yum!), I think BH offers more variety to this once sluggish court. On a recent visit, the lines weren't too long and moved steadily. The cashier was courteous and friendly in assisting us with our order. Our order did take almost ten minutes to come out, but the portions were fairly large and filling. The tri-tip is decent for a chain and was flavorful (cooked to your preference). That being said, don't change the tri-tip -- I asked for mine to be medium which rendered it too tough and difficult to cut. I found the Caesar Pleaser to be a good combo plate and DH's sweet potato fries were quite good, not too oily and crispy. I never did get my bread with my combo plate, but the caesar salad was delish. Again, though pricier than other options, BH offers convenient good food. I'd recommend it for casual dining...but keep in mind full-service restaurants at the mall cost only maybe $5-10/pp more (think burger at C---- F---- ).

Oakridge food court is getting crazy. This place is great! Got to try the tri-tip. My girl got the biggest salad for cheap. Its our new favorite mall spot to grub. The people are nice too. Check it out if your at oakridge!

My first time here and surprisingly it was good, well being this place is in the food court in the mall. I ordered the steak salad & my sister got the taco salad, the food is fresh, and very tasty (well seasoned). Pretty pricey but I must say their portions aren't stingy at all so it's worth your buck. It's far from where I live but if at the mall again, I'd definitely would grab a bite from there.

Awful experience. We arrived at 7:50 and ordered two salads. 20 minutes later we were still waiting. I went to check, and the sarcastic teenager behind the counter said they only had 3 employees working and were very behind. Yeah. (there were clearly 4 people working). An older worker showed up and noticed that they had made one of our salads incorrectly. So they started over. After 25 minutes we had our salads, but no napkins. They had run completely out and had to go get some from a stockroom. So after 30 minutes of waiting we got our food, which was OK. The younger employee was rude through the whole thing ; the older one seemed resigned to the poor service. Since we made a special trip to the mall just to go to Buckhorn we were very disappointed. Probably won't be back.

I got the tri tip sandwich with the French au jus dip, the tri tip sandwich taste nice and tender, very tasteful with the au jus dip. There french fries taste very crispy. My gf got the chicken salad. The price is pretty reasonable. Make sure you check in on yelp to receive $1.00 off your meal. Wish they offer a free drink instead hint hint..

Was looking for something new to try in the mall. I was pleasantly surprised! I got the Little Buck sandwich and loved it. The tri tip was good, not amazing, but very good. The sauces were great, especially the horseradish! Yum! I don't get to Oakridge often, but when I do I'll definitely stop by again and try one of their larger plates.

Decent place to grab some tri-tip while at the mall or really anywhere else in the area. The sandwiches are hearty and filling, the plates are quite a bit of food. Be sure to check in to get a discount.

Say what??? $10 for a slab of the best tri-trip you can put in your mouth? Okay deal. But really though, my friend and I walked by the lady handing out tri-tip samples, and from the instant that meat hit our taste buds, we were sold. For $11, you can get the tri-tip with a Caesar salad ("Caesar Pleaser," yes you are). The meat is so juicy and perfectly cooked. The fact that this is located in a food court, and so cheap, is kind of just ridiculous, but who's complaining? I'm going to feel bad paying for any steak over $11 anywhere else from this point on.

This is in the food court of Oakridge. I thought I'd give it a try since it is new and was looking to get something to eat before watching a movie. My girlfriend and I shared the larger cut of the tri tip with an additional side of sweet potato fries. The tri tip was pretty good for the cost and wait time of it. Mashed potatoes were so-so. The sweet potato fries were good but I wish they had an aioli dip for it. Food was ready in about 3 minutes. Seating is in the mall food court so it is limited if it is busy. Must try? If you want fast bbq food. Try again? Maybe. not 100% sold on it.

This is my second time here and the only reason I came back is because the first experience was a good one!! This time round I was so disappointed!! To charge $15.99 for a Tri-tip platter is extremely high for starters. The meat was awful. Very rare, soft but so tough!! I couldn't even cut it with my plastic knife!! The only thing I enjoyed was the mashed potatoes and veggies. Never again unfortunately.....
(2)
Meshay B.
Ordered the Caesar Pleaser and Sweet Potato Fries: The salad and steak were really good, BUT the sweet potato fries were fried in the same oil or batch as their onion rings which made it taste like onions!! Bleh! Good thing I'm not allergic because that should be a BIG NO-NO! Cross contaminating food! Other than that, it was really good.

Its been a while since I've been back to Oakridge so when I saw that Buckhorn Grill had replaced the Mongolian BBQ place, my friend and I decided to check it out. I ordered the 6oz chipotle border buck with fries. The tri tip meat in the sandwich was decent for a shop in a mall. It had that taste to it that signaled that clearly wasn't cooked in a nice smoker, though. Perhaps a little too much smoke flavoring? The meat was also very chewy and it was a bit cold when my sandwich came out. It wasn't dry and it definitely wasn't as juice as I was hoping. As for the cheese topping and sauce, I would probably just stick to the original tri tip buck. It literally is just some cheese on top of a tri tip buck and they also squirt in a bit of the sauce. It doesn't add to the sandwich so much as detract from it in my opinion. The fries were pretty standard as well. I probably wouldn't come back here again out of free will but now would be a good time to try this place since they're taking $1 off if you check in. The meals here are a bit expensive to me($13 for my combo with discount)!

It took 30 mins to get a chicken sandwich. Luckily it was delicious, otherwise it wouldn't have been worth the wait.
(3)

I tried the tri tip salad and it was pretty good. The downside is that it took forever for the food to be ready. Also, it's located inside a mall so I can't say much about the ambiance..

I've came here about two times and it's really disappointing that in the two times I've visited, there has been a problem. The first time, they forgot to add salmon to my salad. However the manager kindly offered me a complimentary salad for my troubles. I filled out one of the points cards they offer and when I came back my second time, they couldn't find my registration. One of the workers even said they remembered me and I should be in the system, however I was very disappointed that the only solution they offered me was to fill out another one (even after I showed them my previous receipt). I don't think so, 2/2 problem visits are enough for me.

Got the 6 oz Bacon & Cheddar Buck, which has tri-tip in it as well as a small order of fries 1 star off for just how grumpy the cashier was. Like seriously? I barely walk up and I get the eyeroll and an annoyed look and I haven't even ordered yet! 1 star off the fries. They were freshly cooked but had no salt at all and were a bit bland. The tri-tip buck itself was awesome however. The steak was juicy, the bacon good, the bread was strong but tasty, and the cheese smoothed it over Overall, I likely would go here again for the taste of the food but the service needs a bit of work
(3)
Sarah C.
This place is awesome I love their salads Burgers n tritips are tasty too Just a tip: the last few times the meats have not been up to par The burger meat patty was way overcooked n burnt on the outside The tritip had a fuel lighter fluid flavor which tasted weird Salad was fresh n crisp

Marylou A.
Sirloin tri-tip and grilled salmon was really good! The platters have generous portions.
(4)
Richard L.
Food is average but certainly not worth the price. And if you're looking to be in and out, this isn't the place for you. If you see other reviews you'll notice it's not uncommon to order a salad and wait 20-30 minutes on a regular basis. You get food faster at a restaurant. The tri-tip is good, but it's definitely not worth the $10 price tag and the ungodly amount of time you'll be waiting.
(2)
Anthony R.
Second time here and the food is amazing for a food court restaurant. The flavors of the meat are phenomenal. Try the tri-tip.

I came here on a Wednesday night, this looked like the best selection in the food court. The vegetarian dishes looked really good however if you want to look the display is off to the side facing the restroom entrance. At the last minute I ordered the tri tip since it claimed to be the best on its advertisement. My bf ordered the large and I ordered the small, he also brought a side salad and I got the Mac and cheese. The wait wasn't long and the workers seem to be working with urgency. Before getting our order, we sampled all the sauces and they were delish! Our order was up and we immediately noticed our tri tip sandwiched seemed like the exact same size even though he ordered a large however it was decent for the price. Next, I tried my Mac and cheese and it was freezing cold. It's weird because I just saw them refill the batch as I was paying, therefore I assume it must came out from the fridge. I went up to the manager to ask for it to be replace and he gladly accommodated my recommendation for sweet potatoes fries, which I was happier with. Overall the experience was ok, 7.99-8.99 sandwiches then combo therefore $20-something isn't bad for 2 bbq meals. I am willing to overlook and give it another try.

Way to expensive for what it is!! I ordered Char-Roasted Sirloin Tri Tip for $15.99 it was served with crapy potatoes, poor corn smaller than a small muffin and they charge you separate for the drinks!! Not recommended!!

Ordered the bacon cheddar buck and asked for it well done. 8 months pregnant can't eat meat that is still pink. Went back to ask if the could cook the meat more and Alberto helped me and was so nice and remade my sandwich without any problems def coming back here and having him make my food next time ! :)

Yesterday evening we had dinner at 7:00 pm at the Buckhorn Grill @ Oakridge mall. Guest number 61. My boyfriend and I ordered 2 sirloin Tri Tip platters . The total was $34.78 including tax , no sodas just water. The trip tip, mash potatoes and cornbread was tasty but the corn on the cob was dried up and the red potato was undercooked and the mixed vegetables was cold. We were unhappy for paying for an overpriced cold meal. I think in the future will go to Sarkus at least I know it's fresh.
(3)
Carlitos W.
I give them 5 stars because their burger was on hit...one of the best burgers I've had in San Jose in a while. Fries were a little cold but burger was one of the best yet.. Fast friendly service. The manager even came around to ask how was my food I told him it was the best burger yet and that the fries were a bit cold and he came back with some nice hot ones.. That was great service to me... Didn't even have to get up...lol I would recommend this place for burger lovers :)

Love there crispy chicken & avocado salad :) that's only thing I order here & that I have tried
(5)

Pretty good sandwiches. I often stock to the charbroiled chicken but add some fresh avocado to it. The roadhouse onions are addictive but one can squeeze oil or of it. The French onion soup is also pretty good. The prices are quite high for a mall food court restaurant. The people that make the food are also sloppy a lot of times.

We got the Philly sandwich and French dip soup. They were very good. Especially if you dip the sandwich into the soup. Great alternative to all the fast food choices. We tried their trip tip and it had a nice smokey Taste to it. My friend's salmon wasn't cooked to the manager's liking so he refunded her plus her lunch was complimentary due to the wait. Give this place a try. It's yummy!

Tri tip sandwich was really good. Not tough like other reviews mentioned. Great customer service. Minus 1 star because it took forever to get the chicken strips. (Saw from another review they're a actually frozen. Minus another star because the messed up my order. Just wanted the chicken strips for my daughter and they gave my the kids meal.

Me and my boyfriend came here before watching a movie, and we both agreed that we will for sure be back! Right away the tri-tip sandwich sounded great to me so that's what I had ordered. He ordered a burger, can't remember the name but it was great. The fries were nice and crispy(not cold at all like I've seen people say in other reviews lol) . You can't beat restaurant quality food in a food court, very convenient. Delicious food & like I said we will be back for sure!

I paid about $20 for the tri-tip platter with a drink and I was really disappointed. The tri-tip was bland and very chewy and I had to spit out bites since it would not brake down in my mouth. I had much better tri-tip at local supermarkets. The green salad was ok. The corn bread was nice. I orders the Mac and cheese as a side and I could not even eat it after the first bite. Tasted so fake and not like cheese. The Kraft Mac and cheese out of a box is 10 times better. The consistency, taste, and color looked worse than cafeteria food. I was quite disappointed but if it was not for the salad and cornbread I would have rated this place less.

Steve P.
Way too much salt. The sample they give out is great but a whole order has so much salt it salt burned my test buds. I had a Tri tip sandwich my first visit with two other people. All of us only are half because of how much salt was on the meat. Today I gave it a second try and got a hamburger. Way too salty. I couldn't eat the whole thing because my test buds were salt burned. The staff were great at Oak Ridge mall. Wish I could return but I'm done. Maybe I'll get a salad next time. But I'll go to Carl's Jr for my burger.

The bacon cheddar buck (bacon, cheddar cheese, tri tip sandwich) was very much on the dry side. Unless I wanted to douse my sandwich with sauce (of which the bbq sauce easily overpowered the entire sandwich), then it was just not a great first experience. I ended up eating the rest of the meat and leaving the cheese and bread.

The service was fairly quick even though there were a lot of people, and both of my parents as well as myself really enjoyed all the food that we got (BBQ chicken, flatbread salad, and philly steak sandwich). We'll be coming here again for the Mother's Day feast :)

Well, I have eaten here 2x. I point to the item I want on the menu and both times got something different. The second time I went back and corrected them and they said that the fried onions are not with the tri tip and that I had to order them separately and pay more. The first bite is good but after a few bites it gets nasty..not sure why. It also gets cold very fast so that might be part of why it gets a bad flavor as you are eating it. Not worth the price tag at $18.00 ughhhh......Save your money for a real steak restaurant.

My husband and I love eating at the food court in Oakridge since the Buckhorn Grill moved in! Hubby always gets the tri-tip platter, Dads cut. It comes with mashed potatoes and gravy, an array of veggies and corn bread. I like the chicken Caesar salad or grilled chicken sandwich (not sure what its called) my son gets the chicken strips with french fries and I always have to steal a few bites of the chicken strips because they are so yummy. They offer free soda refills which is nice because no other places in the food court seem to offer that.

I'm giving a 3, not because of the food, but the service. They have a "points club". Every dollar you spend is supposed to give you a point. When you reach 100 points you get $10 off your bill. Sounds great, except they never add the points. I've been stuck at 88 points the last 4 times I've gone. I've talked to the manager 2X and written to corporate. No one does anything. If you don't want to give the discount, don't advertise that you have it!! Usually the food is great. Yesterday the tri-tip was tough. 1st time for bad food. I won't be back until someone at least contacts me.

great alternative in the food court. everyone else gets to eat crappy food while i dine on tri-tip!

I came early to get some food before a late movie at the mall. It was a Tuesday night after 8:30pm and the food court over all was pretty sparse and there was only one person in line at this place so I thought I try something new and give it a shot. Well, that will be my first and last there. From the printed time on my receipt to the time my pager rang was 19 mintinues. What?! There was only one other customer ahead of me and it took longer that is should of even during a lunch or dinner rush. Because of this I had to eat my food as fast as I could and I still was late for the start of my movie.

AMAZING!! I moved to San Jose from Davis where everybody knows the best place to get steak is at Buckhorn Steakhouse in Winters! But now it's in my mall?!!?!! What the what?!! I am in heaven. Just had a "small plate" that easily had 4 oz of tritip with amazing flavor and shoestring onion!!! Love it!

Am I really about to comment on a place in the food court? Yes yes I am. My boyfriend & I decided to try this place out because all we really wanted was a salad. Well it was a super busy Saturday afternoon and we ended up waiting 20min for our salads! Seriously? The salads are mediocre and the sandwiches looked the same. For a food court place it works but unless you want to wait 20 min, go somewhere else.

I have tried the samples of steak here and thought those were really juicy, and since I got a coupon for a drink and side for $1.oo extra with a sandwich purchase (from a fundraiser in the mall),I decided to give it a try.First off, there were 2 people in line.I asked them if they were waiting for their order, and they said no,they have been in line for 15 minutes and haven't gotten to order yet.I left and came back about 20 minutes later. One of the guys I was talking to had just recceived his order.I arrived and presented my coupon. The lady, who was friendly but didn't seem to be a native English speaker, asked the manager to look at the coupon for her.The manager okayed it.I ordered the tri tip, broccoli salad and a diet Coke;the lady forgot about what the coupon was for and charged me for the salad.I corrected her and she fixed it.First off when I got my drink, she filled the cup with 2 big scoops of ice,so the amount of Coke I got was more like a child size than a small or medium or whatever it was supposed to be,then dispensed the soda.it was flat.I wouldn't have been too happy if I had to pay for that!Broccoli salad was good, and I think is the best choice for a side because it is cold and you can eat while waiting for your other food to cool off. Also good for kids since it is crunchy and has sweet juicy raisins in it.The tri tip was quite tasty.Hard to imagine the sandwich alone being the price it was,but it was juicy and came with au jus sauce.I may be back if I'm not in a hurry.

They are great, great food and people. They are very into the community and donated a generous gift card to our little league gift raffle basket!

Worst tri-tip ever. Could not even take a bite. We had to take the meat out of our sandwiches TRY to cut it and eat it but even that did not workout. In all everything but the meat was good. For the price we expected way better.

After shopping, I decided to eat at the Buckhorn Grill at Oakridge mall. I ordered a Philly Buck sandwich and fries. The sandwich was so dry with overcooked meat and dry bread, I couldn't eat it. To top it off, the fries were cold, I couldn't eat those either. The lady behind the counter offered to get me warm fries, but I declined since I couldn't eat the dry sandwich anyway. When I walked up to the restaurant, I was wondering why there wasn't a line, now I know. I was very disappointed. There are other sandwich shops in the food court that have consistently good quality. I would suggest you try one of those.

(2)Derek W.
(5)Trina M.
(5)David K.

(2)Tara S.
Aha! Another good lettuce-wrapped burger! It's kind of a bummer that Smashburger is so close because if I had known that, I never would have tried this place out. It's pricey, so even though it was really good, I'll probably still go to Smashburger next time instead.
(4)Blaire A.
I see some people have some terrible reviews of this place but the food I got here was pretty good! I did the small plate which had tri-cut, caesar salad and a bread roll. It was plenty to split between my boyfriend and I and we thought it was quite delicious! I would come again if I felt the urge too.
(4)Chino B.

(4)Kalen K.
(5)Claire T.
Overcooked chicken fingers and undercooked fries :/ Maybe next time I'll try one of their beef plates, since that's what they're known for. Pros: self serve dipping sauces including Sriracha!
(2)Scott H.
Excellent grill! I eat here almost once a week!
(5)Brian N.

Peace and Prosperity-
(3)DM S.
Great burgers and steak sandwiches for fast food. Good quality meat.
(4)Linda S.
If you are hankering for a French Dip with au jus and all the restaurants have hour long wait times, try this place out! I love the French Dip sandwich with the mashed potatoes on the side...you can also get fries or salad instead. It's not the most amazing French Dip in the world but not bad for mall food court food!
(3)Adrian R.
Ever Crave Tri-trip??? Then this the place to take care of those taste buds demanding & yearning for some barbeque sauce on some tasty & delicious thinned meat. I ordered the Tri-tip sandwich with bacon & cheese....it was Goooooooood!
(4)Yolanda M.

(5)Tyler L.
Always good food and service. Even if a mistake happens they are quick to fix it. Every single experience here has been great.
(5)Lisa V.
My Best Friend told me about this place!! OMG the tri tip sandwich is delicious and comes with au jus. I asked for my sandwich with grilled onions and cheese!! YUMMY!!! Please try this place you won't be disappointed!!
(5)Mercy C.
Yummy steak salad... Decent price for quality you might find in a good restaurant but the convenience of a mall food court.
(4)Julie A.
(4)Jenna M.
Hell yes!
(5)Jan P.
(4)Bronson W.
Oakridge food court is getting crazy. This place is great! Got to try the tri-tip. My girl got the biggest salad for cheap. Its our new favorite mall spot to grub. The people are nice too. Check it out if your at oakridge!
(5)Loi F.
(3)Jose L.
The best food great service and good place to eat we came all the time with the family
(5)Evelyn R.
The tri tip steak salad was delicious! Love the onion strings. The cabo salad is really good too!
(5)Sam D.
(1)Francis B.
(4)Jennifer L.
(4)Edric M.
I come here every now and then. And the food never disappoints. I would like to give this place 5 stars although I don't like that the employees keep changing.
(4)Guinevere S.
It was our first time going to this mall. We decided to go to the food court for lunch and found a heavily oasis! Oh my was it good! I might have to make the long journey just for the food!
(5)Chad C.
Decent place to grab some tri-tip while at the mall or really anywhere else in the area. The sandwiches are hearty and filling, the plates are quite a bit of food. Be sure to check in to get a discount.
(3)Gina L.
(5)Thomas N.
(4)Shireen O.
(2)Meshay B.
(3)Joseph L.
(3)Jennifer E.
It took 30 mins to get a chicken sandwich. Luckily it was delicious, otherwise it wouldn't have been worth the wait.
(3)Janice K.
I tried the tri tip salad and it was pretty good. The downside is that it took forever for the food to be ready. Also, it's located inside a mall so I can't say much about the ambiance..
(3)Dinoc B.
(2)Stephanie C.
The steak was juicy, the bacon good, the bread was strong but tasty, and the cheese smoothed it over Overall, I likely would go here again for the taste of the food but the service needs a bit of work
(3)Sarah C.
This place is awesome I love their salads Burgers n tritips are tasty too Just a tip: the last few times the meats have not been up to par The burger meat patty was way overcooked n burnt on the outside The tritip had a fuel lighter fluid flavor which tasted weird Salad was fresh n crisp
(4)Marylou A.
Sirloin tri-tip and grilled salmon was really good! The platters have generous portions.
(4)Richard L.
(2)Anthony R.
Second time here and the food is amazing for a food court restaurant. The flavors of the meat are phenomenal. Try the tri-tip.
(5)Van N.
(3)Maria C.
Way to expensive for what it is!! I ordered Char-Roasted Sirloin Tri Tip for $15.99 it was served with crapy potatoes, poor corn smaller than a small muffin and they charge you separate for the drinks!! Not recommended!!
(1)Mona A.
Ordered the bacon cheddar buck and asked for it well done. 8 months pregnant can't eat meat that is still pink. Went back to ask if the could cook the meat more and Alberto helped me and was so nice and remade my sandwich without any problems def coming back here and having him make my food next time ! :)
(4)Vivian D.
The bacon chicken cheddar sandwich is very tasty but gets very messy after a few bites.
(4)Kareene L.

Fast and great food, excellent people at the counter, particularly the temporary manager who was there to fill in today.. Chicken was very tasty and salad fresh.. One of the best choices at the food court...

Very satisfied with the California Burger. Both the burger and the fries tasted freshly done.

Authentic BBQ dishes. Very yummy.

Oh my! Yum yum yum! Super friendly and great food at great prices! What more can you ask for!
