Super yummy bagels. Quick and friendly! Love the dog pics everywhere. I wish there was one back in California. I had a toasted mish mash with cream cheese, my daughter had a toasted blue berry with cc, my other daughter had a salt bagel and the hubs a lox sandwich. We all loved them. Thank you so much

One star for being dog-friendly and one star for having several vegan options. We're cat people but we still enjoyed seeing all the (well-behaved) doggies with their owners and the touching dog memorial pix on the walls. Biff's also has water dishes out for your canine friend(s). If you're a vegan, they have several vegan bagel flavors, various Tofutti options, hummus and peanut butter. Unfortunately, the bagels aren't that great. They don't have that authentic bagel "chew". Nor is there that nuanced sourdough component. These are basically bagel shaped breads - light and fluffy. The server was nice enough but seemed to be high. As others have mentioned, the ordering is a little awkward. We ordered our bagels from one server and had to order our drinks from another. And it's cash only. Aside from the doggie memorials, the interior is nothing great and it gets full (hot) sun in the morning. An added bonus was a woman with her screaming baby. I used to think that this wasn't the restaurant's problem but with the latest trend of managers asking parents to take their screaming kids outside (a trend I applaud), I now hold restaurants responsible for screaming kids. BOTTOM LINE: If you're having a bagel jones, they're better than Einsteins.

Super good Lox sandwich, ample fixins and chill staff. Come with tissue if it's your first time. The walls are packed with pics of deceased dog from customers. Made me cry thinking of all the love they give. And then I stuffed my snotty face with my most delicious breakfast. And they have Nutella cream cheese. No words.

Great customer service, and the bagel breakfast sandwich was delicious Would recommend Biff's to anyone. It's cash only btw...

So where do I begin? My wife and I were visiting Flagstaff for vacation. We had marked this place to try, so I knew we were going to eat here. But what I did know was that it was going to be so good, we would eat here every morning! The customer service is top notch, really just some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The beagles are fresh and delicious. I got the popper speciality which is any beagle stuffed with peppers and jalapeno cream cheese. Beyond delicious! The atmosphere is really laid back, but of course like any popular place, really crowded. You can tell they really love dogs, as people have posted pictures of their dogs that have passed away all around the building. You have to try this place if you're in town. Just as a side note they only take cash, though there is a ATM machine on property.

Dear Biff's Bagels, I miss you terribly. I made my first and only visit to your home last week and my life hasn't been the same. I'm now over 2,000 miles away but you'll always hold a special place in my heart. Seriously, people, go to Flagstaff and stop at Biff's Bagels. The menu is large and varied and the coffee is restorative.

Bomb bagels! I had a fantastic Jalapeño bagel with eggs, cheese, bacon and tomato! Best Jalapeño bagel that I've had, very tidy customer service!

  • Marie M.

We stopped for bagels and vegan "cream cheese" this morning. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We ordered a variety of bagels and the southwestern tofuttis. All have been really good and are hitting the spot on the drive to Tucson. The apple cinnamon is delicious enough to eat plain. The pictures of the dogs made me very sad. Yet it is also very sweet that someone loved them enough to have their pictures hanging as a tribute to a lost friend.

Want to be super supportive of this local institution, but want to be honest with all you Yelpers out there. This is a fine choice, if you have cash in hand. But it ain't amazing. Solid, yes. Amazing, no. I prefer Wildflower, esp with the disorganized service system at Biff's.

  • Kenisa H.

We love Biff's! We come for bagels every time were up here! The bagels get made pretty quick, and have endless choices of bagels, cream cheeses, and toppings (ie eggs, sausage, lox). They also serve coffee. This place is dog friendly (inside and out) -- take a look at all the Fido pictures on the wall.

  • Heather O.

Tasty! My daughter had a pizza bagel, which was flavorful but messy. I opted for the Veggie Bagel sandwich and it was delicious. I had never thought to put walnuts in a sandwich before, but they gave it great crunch. Biff's is a dog-friendly zone and my daughter loved seeing all of the pups with their owners. A great stop on our way back up to Las Vegas. Note that as of May 2015, they take cash only.

GREAT Bagels, has the college atmosphere combined with the counterculture feeling you look for in Flagstaff. This Iconic Bagel Place is just cool to be a part of. It is one of those places you will remember having gone too even though it is non-descript. That understatedness is part of its charm.

  • Julia K.

OK, we went for Bagels on our way out of town heading to Santa Fe...Wow! Who would of guessed we found the best coffee anywhere. Biffs Blend is out of this world. We have had 100% Kona Coffee shipped to our home in California for years...gonna start getting Biffs Blend as soon as they begin to package and sell same. By the way the Bagels are really good and the schmear offerings are good too. The service was very accommodating and gracious. So glad we found this great Bagel and Coffee Shop. Now we stop at Biffs both coming and going when in Flagstaff.

  • A. B.

Stopped here passing through by word of mouth. Outstanding bagels! I had a bagel breakfast sandwich and it was on point. It was just a little confusing because of the layout and line. The ATM was down and I had to walk somewhere else to get cash which sucked, but I would definitely go here again. I'll bring cash next time!

    (4)
  • Lee T.

We got the breakfast bagels. They were both delicious on asagio and the everything bagel.

  • jordan j.

Food is fine, awkward customer service, nobody seemed to know what was going on. Worst part is that Biff's is cash only, it's 2015, nobody has cash anymore.

    (2)
  • Justin K.

Great food (I had the lox and bagel) and friendly staff. Cool cafe type setting and right by the main drag in Flagstaff's historic district.

    (5)
  • Edward J.

Originally being from NY. It's almost impossible for me to comprehend a bagel from anywhere else. I went to Biffs with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. The place was awsome!!! Food was great, service was spot on!

    (5)
  • Vanessa D.

Best bagels and coffee. Cute place. Dog pictures everywhere.

    (5)
  • Christina P.

I LOVE bagels. I mean REALLY LOVE bagels. I had very high hopes on my first visit. The bagel was good. The problem: they don't toast them enough. I did not know this, unfortunately, or I would've asked them to toast it twice (at least). Now, I know. Now, you do too...

    (3)
  • Dan H.

Other than the creepy ass dead dog pictures all over the joint, they have spectacular food. Hipsters galore and college students. But man, outta site bagels. Service was good after finally noticing an "Order Here" sign amongst the aforementioned dead dog photos. If you miss this place in Flagstaff you're going to miss maybe the best bagel in your life. But it's just a bagel. Oh yeah. They are cash only.

    (4)
  • N C.

Great bagels!! We had the breakfast bagels with egg, cheese, and bacon. Sooooo good! The asiago bagel and plain bagel are both great. We also bought extra bagels for our hiking trip in Grand Canyon!

    (5)
  • Kelly P.

Several hundred million gold stars for Biffs! Hands down the best onion bagel I've ever had. Almost all the bagels are vegan and they have lots of yummy cream cheese alternatives. The veggie deluxe was excellent with sprouts, crunchy walnuts & beautiful little pieces if artichoke heart. Nice atmosphere though it gets crowded with NAU kids. Enjoy a pretty view of the youth hostel across the street & counting train cars from the wrap-around picture windows :)

    (5)
  • Katie W.

Love the bagels and spreads. The veggie sandwich is sooo good. The staff are always friendly. A bit overpriced but worth it once in awhile. Cash only. They do have an atm inside but I think it's a $2 charge. Dog friendly.

    (4)
  • Phillip P.

I frequent Biff's Bagels and I must say they never disappoint. I love their bagel breakfast sandwich with the chive cream cheese. I've honestly never had a bad meal here. The service is awesome as well! I totally recommend to all.

  • Melissa K.

A Flagstaff staple, Biffs has the best bagels in town. The atmosphere is heaven for Dog Owners, as pics of dogs line the walls, and its a very cozy, bright spot to have a bagel, sip some joe and read the paper. This last trip proved to excite me more than usual, why you ask, well being lactose intolerant I usually have to skip the cream cheese or order it and suffer the consequences... well good news, they now have VEGAN CREAM CHEESE! Amazing, delicious and it comes in more than 1 flavor. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with garden vegan cream cheese, 2 steamed eggs, a tomato and their sun dried tomato parmesan crusted bagel toasted to perfection. No trip to Flagstaff is complete without grabbing one of these bagels!

    (4)
  • Angela Z.

I would never, ever give 5 stars based on one great visit, but we've been here 3 times and not a single complaint even once, so I gotta give credit where credit is due! This place is doggie-themed, with framed pics of many beloved pets all over the walls. Being a dog lover myself, I totally dig it. Pun intended! The bagels are just damn good. Bark it from the rooftops good!! I've had an egg sandwich, a plain bagel, and a lox sandwich, and all were spot-on. The coffee too is just perfect. I've had a drip coffee and a couple of espresso drinks and they are smooth, rich, flavorful, and a heavenly coffee flavor. The biff's blend house brew has a somewhat unique flavor but with just a bit of cream and some raw sugar in it, yeah, I'd sit and stay and probably even roll over for some more of it!

    (5)
  • Nick P.

The breakfast bagels, the lox and caper, and the coffee are always great. The staff is always great and the dog friendly atmosphere is awesome. Best bagels around.

    (5)
  • Cody D.

I had a breakfast bagel with egg and ham and it was on point! it was exactly what I need this morning because I spent the whole day studying and it was a great way to start the day. Fast, great quality food, interesting atmosphere (pictures of people's dogs), and excellent service.

    (5)
  • Danielle H.

delicious! I was overwhelmed with the selections but so happy with my choices, I wish I could go back right now to try other options yummmmmm breakfast bagel with cheddar chili cream cheese on jalapeno bagel! First time having eggs + cream cheese mixed and I am a fan! Got a coconut almond bagel with honey walnut cream cheese to bring on our hike and eat later, it hit the spot on the top of our hike. bf got a bagel with the southwest cream cheese, which was good as well but I think the cheddar chili was my favorite I've ever tried!

    (5)
  • Courtney L.

I love this place! I was struggling to find a vegan breakfast place in Flag until I came across Biff's. They have a huge selection of vegan bagels and vegan spreads. I got the Mish Mash bagel toasted with red pepper hummus, avocado, tomato, cucumber and red onion... It was absolutely delicious! I also love the pictures of dogs everywhere, I will definitely be back!

    (5)
  • Rey E.

The fact they're Flagstaff Locals with a great friendly staff is great, what puts them over the top is their incredible selection of gluten free bagels & best of all they have ALL their flavors of cream cheese in Non-Dairy options for all us Vegans & Plant-Based folks.

    (5)
  • Flag L.

Biffs is a fun little bagel shop. Being dog friendly and having a laid back vibe gives this shop character. Cream cheese is good and coffee is drinkable.

    (4)
  • Alex L.

I love the bagels here, and it has a fun atmosphere. Good selection of flavored too. The spinach Parmesan is one of my favorites. Biff's supports a lot of community events around town, which is great. My only complaint is that the service is usually on the slower side.

    (4)
  • Michael D.

Outstanding bagels. I feel like I'm back in NY. Had to go with a classic salt bagel and cream cheese. Loved it so much came back 2 of 3 days while in town.

    (5)
  • Kath L.

Delicousness. Is that a word? Well, I used it when I visited Biff's Bagels in Flagstaff on Tuesday. I was on a road trip, and looked to Yelp for a good coffee place. Bingo! Their Coconut Almond bagel is perfect. And, with a side of bacon, and a cup of their lovely brewed coffee, I was in heaven. BEST PART: if you are a dog lover, this is your place! The walls are covered with photos of beautiful doggies that have since passed on. They also sell a to-go coffee mug, where 25% of the proceeds go directly to a local second-chance dog shelter. How amazing are these people?! Love this place, and if I'm ever in Flagstaff again, this will be one of my stops :)

    (5)
  • Megan W.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day that I must eat, even when on the go. Every time I come to Flagstaff I have to make my regular stop into Biff's for their amazing, fresh, inexpensive bagels. The bagels themselves have unique flavors with even more unique spreads to enjoy on top. Like really-truely AMAZING bagels!! The coffee on the other hand is just meh, but next to their bagels anything would seem dull in comparison. In a lot of the other reviews people have commented on the customer service experience as poor- which honestly I have NEVER noticed. Everyone working there seems pleasant and they once took the time to give my family turn by turn directions when we wanted to take a scenic route to the Grand Canyon. Biff's is a great little bagel shop for bagels on the go or stay a bit and warm up inside! Just do not forget it is CASH ONLY*** dont fret tho, they have a ATM for those who are newbies to the wonderful tastes of Biff's Bagels.

  • Anthony P.

Great fresh bagels! I had the breakfast sandwich and it was nothing short of awesome. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because they only accept cash and the cleanliness could have been better. The table we sat at was slightly dirty. The people working the counter are really friendly and the food is awesome. I recommend you try it out.

    (5)
  • Mattie H.

These might just be the BEST bagels on earth!!! Nice friendly staff and if you get there at the right time where the bagels are coming out fresh....aaaaahhhh you don't even think about toasting! AWESOME!!!!

    (4)
  • Pony B.

Yum, I love Biff's! They usually switch up different kinds of bagels (they have a whole wheat mish mash bagel now!) which are always good. They even have vegan cream cheeses in a few different flavors (I recommend the scallion or the southwest) the hummus is great, tapenade is delicious, and the Veggie Deluxe sandwich is the best veggie sandwich in town! Sometimes you just gotta get a bagel with cream cheese though. The espresso here is delicious so try a latte or a dirty chai. They have almond & soy milk too. As for the service comments, I'll agree with Casey- they don't kiss your ass, it's true. Keep in mind it's a bagel shop, not a spa. I think their service has improved over the years, some of these reviews might be a little dated for the staff they have in there now. Anyway- the bagels are perfect and they have a solid selection of toppings and spreads. Their meats are roasted in-house, their coffee is locally roasted, and as a company they're generous (with donations for events)... and they love dogs.

    (5)
  • Jessica H.

I love biff's bagels. Everything I have tried here has been amazing. The bagels are fresh and the best I've had. The juices are the same- delicious. The service has never been bad in my experience and the prices- I feel like I'm being undercharged for the quality of food here.

    (5)
  • Brandi B.

My new breakfast love! I find myself craving these bagels throughout the day, it's ridiculous. My personal favorite is the pumpernickel bagel with lox spread and avocado. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. As to customer service: I found it to be top notch, especially considering how slammed the employees are. The cashier was especially awesome last time I went. All in all, I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves bagels and likes to have options - there are so many combinations you can create here that you'll never get tired of the place.

    (5)
  • Brittany J.

This is definitely a great place to come to for tasty and cheap bagels (the jalapeno and cheddar bagel with jalapeno cream cheese is my favorite), and the location is very dog-friendly. The only negative thing about this place is the poor customer service. The workers look miserable and act like they're doing you a favor by giving you what you purchase. Also, to the person who compared to this location to a bagel shop in NYC...please, Flagstaff is s small town and even at its busiest this place can't be compared to one of the most populated cities in the world. It's not that hard to fake a smile.

    (3)
  • C. N.

I love breakfast bagel sandwiches. I consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur. They are awesome. Coffee also great. But yeah, cash only.

    (5)
  • Laura B.

great bagels, variety of toppings includes sundried tomato tapenade, locs, hummus besides cream cheese n butter, cash only but ATM inside. Coffe was good too

    (4)
  • Chad W.

Customer service! I was unhappy with my order it was not what was described on the menu. It did not taste good. I told the crew behind the counter that I was unhappy and they did not care at all. The guy told me just to deal with it. I left a half eaten sandwich on their counter and departed as an unsatisfied customer. Just because you are a "Flagstaff" restaurant, doesn't give you the right to have terrible customer service. Don't order the smoked albacore bagel with capers and onions, not similar to a smoked salmon with capers and onions at all. Large chunks of dry, cheap, low quality, poorly flavored albacore.

    (1)
  • Kristen F.

Cheap and delicious bagels with a good amount of spread options. I had a bagel with lox spread and a coffee for about $5. The service isn't so great, they definitely sass you, but I tend to forgive if I know it's voluntary tipping. The most interesting thing about this place is that it's become a memorial to deceased dogs. There are photos on every spare spot of wall honoring someone's dead pet. Very strange... but all you need to know is it's a fast, cheap, easy breakfast if you're in Flagstaff.

  • Elizabeth Y.

Seriously, it sucks that Los Angeles doesn't have a bagel place like this. You would think with all the rich people and their dogs in LA, you would find a place just like this hiding in Beverly Hills or Santa Monica. My mom lives in Arizona & she told me that this place is good and it was the perfect sandwich bagel! The best! I love all the doggy pictures on the walls! They need a little kitty corner! Next time I'm in Flagstaff (which is a few times a year), you'll find me here for sure no questions asked!!

    (5)
  • Lacey A.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and this place was awesome! Us Californians love our bagels:)

    (5)
  • Jeremiah K.

I love Biff's. I can bring our dog in and hang out and have the best bagels in Flagstaff. Don't settle for reheated frozen bagels from other 'bagel' shops. Those are just rolls with holes. Biff's makes theirs daily. If you can, come in around 9-10 and get 'um fresh out of the oven. They are amazing. If you happen to be in town September or October, get some of the pumpkin bagels. I wait all year for those.

    (5)
  • Irem H.

That is a cute and dog lover place! Bagels were fresh and tasty. It was a nice atmosphere. We liked the place adn the staff.

    (5)
  • Amanda K.

*sigh* at last!! a legit bagel place in arizona! i was starting to think my quest for a good "non-chain" bagel was hopeless, but a trip to biff's proved me wrong. I had a bagel sandwhich, which was quite a hearty breakfast! we both thought it was awesome, and the jalapeno cheddar bagel was spot on! head up! it's cash only, but they have an atm in case you forget!

    (5)
  • PJ O.

Although bagels are generally thought of as a breakfast item, don't count Biffs out for lunch. Their specialty sandwiches are great. My favorite is the SW Turkey Melt. So Good! Support local businesses.

    (4)
  • Emily F.

I always make a point to come to Biff's when I'm back in Flagstaff. They are always extremely consistent in their ability to make outstanding bagels. Their selection is always huge and always fresh outta the oven. They also have great cream cheese (which is important!) I come here for breakfast and lunch, both meals are great. Their coffee selection is limited to drip, but it's mighty delicious. Remember that they only take cash or you might be taking money out of their atm for a fee. While their service isn't overly friendly, it fits their down-to-business mindset in regards to serving only optimal bagels.

    (5)
  • James W.

Exactly what I'd expect at a bagel place. Friendly staff, fresh bagels, fair prices. And a great view! However, be prepared: cash only.

So, we are on this road trip; we just have to get out of town, stretch our legs and explore a bit more of Northern Arizona. A real "alpine start", we get coffee and hit the highway and motor up to Flagstaff to check it out. After the (almost) two hour drive we arrive and really, really need breakfast. Really. Parked in the old downtown area, we don't have clue where to go, so we ask a local. (Often a winning strategy that really pays off this time.) "Ya gotta go to Biff's Bagels," he says, "it's down that way." Vaguely points south. I'm not too sure; Bagels in Arizona? Can't be good, I think. I haven't seen a decent Bagel since I left the east coast. What most places offer is a pretty poor substitute. The Breakfast gods smile on us, we find Biffs. Thank you, Breakfast gods. Real Bagels. Chewy on the outside, soft on the inside. A great variety of flavors, including a few new to me. I go whole hog, have a Garlic Bagel with Lox & capers, my partner does the exotic combination of Spinach Parmesan with ham and cheese. Good cream cheese, good Lox, crisp red onion. Perfect. Suddenly, I want to move to Flagstaff. We compromise and buy a dozen and the rest of the day I'm practically drooling from the incredible onion-garlicly scent of our booty filling in the truck. I am now considering what offering should be made to the beneficent Breakfast Gods. I will never visit Flagstaff again without a trip to Biff's!

  • Sarah Y.

Biff's is the perfect breakfast on the go. They offer delicious homemade bagels and other baked treats. To add to their already scrumptious bagels, they offer many different types of cream cheese and egg-based bagel breakfast sandwiches. The mishmash bagel is to die for, especially with the addition of eggs and sharp cheddar. Unfortunately, there are a few down sides. Firstly, they are cash only, which is tough for me since I rarely carry cash. I actually go to Biff's less because it is a hassle to get cash out before I go to breakfast. Secondly, their coffee is mediocre at best. If you want to go to Biff's remember three things: take cash, they aren't open in the afternoon/night, and you MUST try the mishmash bagel!

    (3)
  • Joe W.

Genuine and friendly staff, welcoming dog-friendly environment, delicious bagels, and a great policy of leaving the days unsold bagels outside for the hungry. Love this place

    (5)
  • Lauren R.

For bagels in this town...this is where you go. Asiago Bagel with spinach/artichoke schmear ORRR Salt bagel with plain cream cheese and Jalapeno Jelly!!!! Say what? Yeah, you heard me. JALAPENO JELLY!!! If you're looking for something delicious & quick this is the spot! Don't forget though ***CASH ONLY!***

    (5)
  • Sophia T.

The bagels are delicious. period. they are so good, I didn't need a toaster. Great price for a bakers dozen. AAAAAAANNNNNNDDDDDDD, I bought VEGAN cream cheese there. not only that, i bought a flavored vegan cream cheese. dare i say they are better than my Brooklyn go to???

    (5)
  • Sarah M.

The Salty Dog. Its my absolute favorite bagel anything on earth. I love it. Salt Bagel with mustard and melted swiss. OMGosh its good. That being said- Biff's is super friendly and all their bagels are delish.

    (5)
  • D J.

I do not go to Biff's anymore. I have tried to get past being treated rude, without even a "hello" or "thank-you" but I prefer to be treated in a friendly way. I do really like their bagels, but will take my money elsewhere. As a small business owner, I feel like I know what customers want to be treated like, and this is not it! I have always felt that employees take on the attitude of the owners, so this does not say much for whoever owns this place! Long time Flagstaff resident

    (1)
  • Mica F.

I like the bagels, but why does everyone working there have to be so rude? Maybe it's a Flag thing, but everyone time I have been here, the staff seems annoyed that I am there. If you can get past not being greeted or thanked, it is a quick and quality breakfast.

    (3)
  • Javier A.

Best bagels I've ever had, period. Stumbled upon this place on the way to the Grand Canyon, and the experience at Biff's was almost better than the visit to the Grand Canyon! Ok, a little exaggeration - but seriously, if you love bagels do yourself a favor and stop here, have some of their fantastic "Biff's Brew" coffee, and truly ENJOY what bagels are supposed to be like.

    (5)
  • Paula A.

Great breakfast! We had the mish mash (everything) bagel with lox spread and a breakfast sandwich--both very good. I read the reviews about the unfriendly service but luckily I didn't have any problems with that this morning. I give it four stars because it didn't knock my socks off, but I did enjoy it and will go back.

    (4)
  • B C.

Bagels are Ok, not as good as the east coast! And the low stars are also because they are cash only!

    (3)
  • L. K.

I like this place not only because of the food but because it's one of few popular Flagstaff places to eat or get coffee that aren't slathered with hipster or hippie-types. It's usually pretty quiet when I've gone.

    (4)
  • Chris C.

It was my first time the staff was helpful when I didn't know what to get... Someone suggested the onion with southwestern cream cheese.....Delicious and filling... I loved it... I will be going back as much as possible

    (5)
  • Kyt R.

I have been coming to Biff's off-and-on for over 10 years now. And, the one thing that remains consistent is their unbelievably shitty customer service. There is usually 4-5 people working in the back area which is only about 10x20 ft. They are ALWAYS gossiping and their inefficiency is something that you truly have to see to believe. The 2 older and very weathered couple that work in there look as though they are being held at gunpoint and being forced to look as pathetic and miserable as possible. I dare you to try and get older, pink bastard in there to make eye contact with you...go ahead, I dare you. Their bagels alone are good for the most part but their bagel sandwiches are just terrible. And, it seems that no matter what bagel you get you are bound to have at least one bite with a piece of onion in it. I think it is some weird inside, but very unfunny, joke they must have going on. The only reason that they are not getting one star is because there are 3 young people who work in there that are exceptionally pleasant to deal with. One of them is a really tall female and the other 2 are the only young males that work there. If you ever find yourself in this hellhole, seek one of those 3 people out for service. If you don't see them, head straight out the door to Dunkin' Donuts. Their bagels are not as good, but at least you wont get emotionally crapped on. Oh, and for those who are visiting my great town, this is NOT typical Flagstaff service. Everyone here is really nice which is the whole reason I moved here from Philly 10 years ago. Biff's is definitely an anomaly.

  • Lisa C.

Yesterday was my first time at Biffs. I love breakfast foods and I was hungry and excited for breakfast only to be disappointed in the selection of bagels. Other bagel shops I go to always have some kind of cinnamon sugar bagel and they didn't have one of those. I ended up just getting a toasted almond bagel with nothing on it. The bagel tasted fine, but it was SMALL! Nothing like Einsteins. The young girl that rang me out wasn't very friendly. I think she was the unfriendliest person we encountered the entire trip, so imagine how nice everyone else was! My boyfriend got coffee and said it was just OK. Also, they only accept cash. They should work on getting a machine that takes debit and credit. Not everyone carries cash around.

    (3)
  • Stefan A.

Dang fine bagel. Not the best, but seriously respectable. My 10 year old is hardcore about bagels, and it passed his test. And I liked the Biff's dudes. Good coffee too!

Wow!!! This place rocks. If you are in Flagstaff and it is early in the day, check this place out. I'm an old(er) guy from back east, so the folks behind the counter weren't exactly my type, but WOW, the bagels are really good. And for some reason, I really like pictures of dogs -- nice decorating...

I saw one bad review and got apprehensive because I'm from a big city who does bagels well but we went in and the bagels were delicious. The line was out the door, the wait was a little long but what do you expect? The only creepy thing was all the pictures of dead dogs. Well, I mean dogs that were alive and had pictures "in memory of".

This is a friendly neighborhood bagel spot. The bagels are hot, fresh and absolutely delicious. Great bagel schmears and breakfast sandwiches. It is also kind of a shrine for deceased dogs where owners put a picture of their beloved pets on the walls. Not creepy but very endearing.

The mishmash bagels are the best. At $7.50 for a dozen, we'll be picking some up every time we visit from Phoenix. The hot chocolate wasn't so great, but the bagels made up for it. A lot of great cream cheese spreads, too!

Great place to grab some breakfast! Bagels were super tasty, with a great variety as well. Service with a smile too! Just remember to bring cash because that's all they take, though they did have an ATM set up in the corner for schmucks like me. Definitely recommend this if you're hungry for a tasty breakfast sandwich.

Biffs is a typical Flagstaff restaurant that remains in business because the Flagstaff clientele doesn't know the difference between good and bad. Their bagels are small and tough and lack any sort of discernible flavor. Last time I was at Biffs my egg and ham bagel sandwich was mis-made and I was overcharged. When I finally received my correct order, it was small and bland. This is another Flagstaff restaurant that would not last 1 year in a town with competition and customers with higher standards..

I don't know if I've really come here often enough to give them a qualified 5 star review. However, I have had these bagels twice, and freaking OMG are they good. First time on Friday, my boss brought two huge bags of bagels to work, and I got an onion bagel. I was so enamored with it, that I came by here this morning to get two more bagels for breakfast. They were delicious. I had the Asiago and Pesto. The pesto bagel was so good. Their bagels are less chewy than most bagels I've had, but scrumptious nonetheless.

Pretty good bagels, very fresh, coffee might be the best in town hands down. I had a simple egg cheese and bacon bagel on asiago, and it was good, but nothing extraordinary

These bagels RULE!!! I really miss living in Flagstaff because nothing compares to Biff's Bagels. These people love their dogs, and use their and customers' current and past best friends to decorate their place. It feels like home. 'Nuff said. 2 friends of mine brought some up from Flag to vegas this past weekend and I was in heaven.

I love the bagels here, and even the bagel chips they make for snacks. Also, they work a lot with the community and non-profits. I particularly admire that. Check them out!

I have been to Biff's countless times. The place is homely, with pictures of dogs everywhere. Needless to say, I usually feel a little emotional every time I go. Their bagels have always been cooked to perfection, I highly recommend getting an everything bagel with lox and capers. Perfect weekend breakfast, right there. The staff is kind and cool, my only negative is that they stopped accepting debit.

As a former Flag resident, okay more like temporary displaced resident. Biffs is one of my favorite bagel places around. Great bagels, nice diversity of spreads made in house, and good folks behind the counter. If only one caution it would be the non-bagel baked goods can be hit or miss, but it's a bagel shop that is not why you go there. Afterthought - Other reviewers say accept credit cards, but unless there has been a change of policy they have moved to an ATM machine there, but don't accept cards anymore for purchases. So unless you want to pay the ATM fee find a bank on your way there.

My sister came into town and I really wanted to take her to La Bellavia. Yet, on a rainy Sunday morning, it had a line out the door. Starved, we went to Biff's. I had eaten bagels FROM there, but never ate there. My bagel was great and my lox spread was probably the best I have ever had. The ordering process was a bit slow and confusing, not very streamlined. The decor is cute. Being a dog lover, and having 2 of my own, I loved the dog theme, yet almost all the dog pictures in there were of dogs that were deceased! I have to admit, kinda put me in a bummer mood! All in all, great bagel, AMAZING LOX SPREAD! My sister had like a veggie bagel thing and her boyfriend had an egg sandwich, everyone seemed pretty satisfied. I recommend, though, the type of place you just order take out. The coffee was good, too, but PIPING hot! It stayed warm for about 2 hours!

Best place for bagels in Flagstaff. Actually some of the best bagels I have ever had. Coffee isn't bad either!

I like this place. The bagels are good, spreads delicious, and the coffee is delicious. It's also a better place to hang out then Macy's. But, the prices I think have been raised and its getting kindof expensive for just some dough and cheese.

The bagels are pretty good - the service sucks!! The owners are not friendly AT ALL!!! They never smile, can barely say "thank you" an the man owner is always counting the money out of the register (hello - tacky)!! The younger people that work there are sort of friendly. We all work too hard for our money to spend it at a place where they clearly don't really appreicate their customers. It is also cash only. I guess so the man can count the money all day right in front of the customers.

Not only are the bagels great but the atmosphere is wonderful, especially if you love dogs. Free bagel if you bring in a photograph of your deceased doggy.

Good Bagels, Bad Service... I do like their bagels, but wholly cow, the owners are the worst at customer service. Never a smile, never a thank you for your business. If I had another option I would take it. I don't like being treated poorly when I'm in your store.

Best Bagels in Flag. I love they way they cook their eggs using the espresso steam wand. Makes me happy/sad at the same time. The pics of all the lost Fur babies make me miss my pit bull princess, but to see the love Flag has for their dogs is pretty awesome!

I went twice in one weekend. The 2 bagels I had were pretty good, if somewhat salty. However, the spreads were really delicious and they had a lot of variety.

Worst customer service in Flagstaff. We all want to support our local businesses, but not when they treat us like crap. Their bagels are good, but not worth the attitude reeking off the staff and owner. In the half dozen times I have been in there in the past two years, never once have I been greeted in a friendly manner or thanked or engaged in small talk. Just stoney silence. When they are busy, the fronter counter staff will take payment directly from friends, but then tell you to wait in another line to pay. Cash only, no cards. And hours for a bagel/breakfast place are ridiculuous - they don't open til 7am (Mon-Fri) and 8am on the weekends!! So forget it if you're heading out early for work, class or a road trip. If you have to have fresh bagels, skip the coffee and go around the corner to Macy's - the coffee at Biff's tastes weak and watered down. Hopefully a bagel place that actually likes people and appreciates customers will put this one out of business.

Excellent bagels, decent kitchen, attentive and skilled staff. If you are Not bothered by many framed pictures 'man's best friend' then, this is the place for you. In many places people think that bread doughnuts are bagels, they are not. They must be boiled first, and this place does them right and would make anyone who knows what bagels are, proud. The pastrami was great, and the egg offerings tasty.

Two stars for all the puppy love! The framed photos of dogs with loving notes from their owners are enough to move you to tears before you've had your breakfast. It really is a pretty special place in that regard. Unfortunately, their bagels leave a lot to be desired. Opted for a breakfast sandwich on one of their more exciting-sounding options, the green chile cheddar. Bagel itself was extremely light on flavor, and tasted extremely dense despite it being 8AM and lightly toasted. Egg and cheese (American) on the sando were also similarly tasteless. Not worth $5 by any stretch of the imagination. I'm not a fan of cash-only policies, but this spot has a handy ATM (with $2 fee). Service was awkward- I placed my order with Dude #1, paid with Chick #2, and waited 10 minutes for my order. Dude #1 apparently couldn't remember my face, and couldn't raise his voice enough to be heard so I could retrieve it. No one likes a cold breakfast!

Pros: -great variety of tasty, soft bagels! They're always better toasted! -loved the Asiago and tomato basil bagels! It would be hard to try anything else when I come back because I currently crave these same bagel flavors. -readily helpful staff, quick service -dog lovers welcome! Cons: -being cash only made it quite inconvenient for me. I managed to find only $3.25 in change, so I couldn't have shmear with my bagel. -adding shmear increases the price of a bagel by three times. I'm all about a good deal, so this makes so sense to me. A great place to have your breakfast, kick back and read the news!

The service was fast and friendly. Their Dark Roast and house coffees are both good.. The have LOTS of not dairy options! And will make a breakfast bagel to order. PS If you need or want a gluten free option you are out of luck

Cute corner establishment south of the railroad tracks. Very 70's feel with hippy employees. Oh, I guess that is a given since this is Flagstaff. We were walking by and decided to stop in. We arrived one minute before closing so they asked if they could wrap our order up. No biggie. Likely wouldn't have walked in if I had realized but still wanted to try it. Noticed from the sign on the door that they take cash only. Didn't have much on me so ordered a lox special on a mish mash bagel. Couldn't afford a drink. The bagel was a great texture and mish mash is actually an everything bagel. Was being adventurous and wanting to try something different to me. I only gagged on the lox once and didn't actually throw up so I figured that was a good thing. Obviously I won't be trying lox again. It was made well though with onion and tomato and capers.

This place is the best bagel shop in AZ IMO. They have a decent selection of bagels ranging from plain, to garlic bagels, to southwestern themed ones. They also make their own cream cheese, which is often delicious. As for the selection, they have a breakfast and lunch selection. However I have only ever really gotten a salt bagel with plain cream cheese because that is my favorite. In addition to the bagels, they have fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juice. Sometimes they even have fresh lemonade. Of curse, they also have a selection of coffees and teas, none of which I have partaken as of yet. The seems to be a cross between a cafe and homey. Its more cafe in decor. It has photo tributes throughout the store to deceased dogs which sounds more macabre than it really is. It is also dog friendly, and you can bring your pets into the store with you if you want. I personally find the photos interesting, and enjoy looking at them. As for the rest; the service is good. there was one girl who is not very friendly and doesn't give good service, and seems to be more interested in chatting with her friends than working. However she is no longer there. Also, I would like to mention that this place still only accepts cash, but they do have an ATM that only charges a dollar to take money out. Overall, its a great place, and being from the east coast, I must say these bagels are the closest approximation to the New York style that I have come across in my 10 years in AZ. The only other place that comes close is Chompie's in Phoenix.

This place is your hipster bagel outfit, complete with tatoo'd servers and receptionists. The bagels are freshly baked, and the sandwiches can be custom tailored to meet your palate. I had an everything bagel with sausage and egg, and it was toasted piping hot, and delicious. For the price point I definitely recommend this place over D&D. Plus all those crazy photos of dogs and their owners are enough to get some good conversation going with a date.

Biff's, I really wanted to like you. My boyfriend had been raving about you during our entire drive to Flagstaff and I think he maybe built up my expectations to be beyond your reach. We woke up early on a Monday morning and walked the short walk from our hostel to Biff's. We were the only people in line, but didn't know what we wanted so were told our order would be taken when we knew what we wanted. Okay, fine. So we look at the menu and we are ready to go within a minute. Another out of town couple had come in and were also waiting. This is where it gets weird, we are obviously ready. The girl behind the counter completely ignores us and calls out to a regular who just walked in and says "the usual?" and he says no and she takes his order. We're kind of stuck, just waiting because we blatantly got skipped. More people started pouring in, we got skipped again in favor of regulars (which was a toasted bagel and cream cheese so I guess that's fine). Finally, an older lady comes out from the back and asks for our order. I'm guessing she's the owner because customer service wasn't on her radar at all. We ordered our breakfast bagel sandwiches. And proceeded to pay. Biff's is kinda weird in the way that the person that takes your order, makes your order. And if someone is free, they will grab your CASH payment. Or even stop making the order they're working on to take your payment. It was literally the most confused and disorganized food service situation I've ever witnessed. It was like the workers had no clue what the heck was going on. The bagel sandwiches were okay. The bagels themselves were pretty good. But for the price I paid, CASH, it wasn't worth it. Would I say it's the best bagel I've ever had? No, probably not. Will I give them another chance if I find myself in Flagstaff again? Yes, maybe. The only thing that saved Biff's for me was all the sweet dog memorials that I was able to look at while I waited over 15 minutes for my unmemorable breakfast sandwich.

3 1/2 stars! I enjoyed their great variety of bagel flavors, spreads, and breakfast to pizza bagels! What I didn't like was that weird stench that I smelled when I entered the door! It smelled like cleaners, it reminded me of being in a bathroom! People bring their dogs inside which I guess every now in then they have to clean up after them, eww! They don't accept credit/debit but they do have an ATM inside which probably charges you an arm and a leg. I'll go back because I enjoyed their variety but next time I think I'll get it to go!

Best bagels you can possibly get in Flagstaff. I highly recommend them! Friendly service and fantastic food! Nice cozy little atmosphere. I loved it. I recommend it to anyone. Good coffee too. Try Biff's Blend.
