CASH ONLY (Now that that is out of the way) When you first walk in you will not know what to think of this place but as you smell the cooking and once you see your meal one thing becomes apparent: if it is not broken, cook with it. This place has some pretty average choices but the experience is what sets Jade China up one more notch above your average Chinese restaurant. Yes they only serve in styrofoam containers with plastic forks but the serving size is always 3 scoops of rice and plenty of food and a great quality (except the peas and carrots) but anything prepared there is great. Tso's chicken is the best I've ever had. Very savory, sweet and the broccoli was steamed perfectly. Curry shrimp has a lot of onion but it was perfectly spicy and had real curry flavor.

I told hubby I needed my Chinese fix, and he remembered driving by this place so we pulled into their parking lot. I took a quick look on Yelp right before we went in. When I read that it was not a buffet and the owner is Chinese...well, heck...we HAD to give it a try. It was a little dark inside and only about a dozen tables set up. Absolutely no frills, and that's ok; I was only there to be impressed by the food. Apparently most people call in their orders and pick up; they do not dine-in. We were one of two parties that chose to dine-in. I think almost immediately we knew that we will be ordering take out in the future. But we had errands to run, cowboy boots to buy...so this time our only option was to eat there. We ordered cashew nut chicken, broccoli in garlic sauce (I think that's what it was), and fried rice...I hardly ever order fried rice. Why? Because it just doesn't taste as good as homemade. My sister's fried rice and Ma Lam's fried rice are my favorite. But hey, the kid taking our order said it's very popular and almost everyone orders it. How could we not give it a try? And you know what they say, "When in Rome..." The food came out fairly quickly and piping hot; dishes were served in large styrofoam boxes. I was a little taken aback since we had chosen to dine-in...but okay, whatever, I certainly don't need fine china to enjoy a tasty meal...all I need is a shovel...er...uh...fork or spoon. Overall, I would say the food is tasty. Hubby especially liked the broccoli; it had a sweet, tangy taste. The fried rice was indeed tasty, but next time I will try the lo mein, which apparently is a hit also. Portions were huge; the three dishes were enough for four adults to share with some left over. Since it was just the two of us, we regrettably indulged and still had more for later. We will definitely give it another try in a month or so. This was the third Chinese restaurant we've tried in Conway. The first two were buffets...and although tasty in their own ways, it's just not the same. Jade China is the closest we've come to good, authentic Chinese food...so far.

Price is cheap. They give enough quantity to have for lunch and dinner. Quality is okay.

love me some jade china. check out the wonderful shrimp if your wanting to try something other then their delicious fried rice. it comes with shrimp, ham, and broccoli in a spicy brown sauce. I always ask for extra spicy because it just adds some extra flare to this dish. while your at it, order the crab wontons and dip it in that yummy spicy sauce. This was my favorite restaurant when I lived in Conway and every time I come back to visit I have to make a stop. I live in Fayetteville now and there isn't a Chinese restaurant there that touches this place but then again Fayetteville doesn't have any good Chinese joints. its all Thai food there.

One server there was super nice. We had some spicy beef and lo mein; less than $20. Cash only. Take-away if you must. 'Nuff said.

Jade China = Conway, AR. What I ate multiple nights of every week. Always the steamed tofu with veggies and brown rice. GOOD. Their veg fried rice, also real good. Really, any dish with tofu. I love the sweet lady owner. She always knew my name when I called in my to-go order. "Is this Jessica?" I recently revisited Conway and made a stop at yum Jade China--and years later she still remembered me. A little piece of my heart and also really delicious.

I really like the food here, and I like how fast it can be ready. The only thing I do not like is the fact that they do not have a credit/debit card machine. It is a pain to have to withdraw cash if you don't have any with you and the one time I tried to write a check, I was asked for my address, my DOB, my phone number, my DL number, and my SS number, which in my opinion, is too much personal information for me to give out just write a $9 check. I refused to give that much information and left to get cash and then returned for my food. They need to join this century and invest in a credit/debit card machine, or at the very least, when you call to place your order, tell you on the phone that they only accept cash.

More than likely, this is the best Chinese food in Conway. I have never dined in, always phoned in take out orders. The food is always hot, and VERY generous portions for the price! The house fried rice and house lo mein are more than enough for one person and are delicious, even as leftovers! The only drawback is the sometimes lack of attentiveness to orders by the staff (probably due to being busy) and shabby parking. Good quality, good price!

Jade China offers the best Chinese food one will find in Conway. The food is always served hot (whether eating in or eating to-go), and the workers are friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is definitely nothing nice. They have standard tables/chairs and booths in a dark restaurant. 99% of the time, I get food here to-go. Not only does the food taste great, but it is very cheap. An order of fried rice is plenty for two to share for one meal and is still under $7 (I think). Give Jade China a try!

Like Mexican restaurants, Chinese restaurants have become somewhat commonplace in most Arkansas towns of a particular size. Since I happen to love pretty much all Asian foods, I say "we can always use more." I just wish we had a little bit more Southeast Asian fair, not to mention Indian food, but that would be another review. The Chinese buffet seems to be the most common incarnation, which also happens to be my least favorite. The goal of such buffets seems to be catering to the least common denominator. Call me a snob, but I'm not one to be enthralled with simply adding a bunch of salt and fat to please the majority of wide-bodies that frequent such places. One of the things that you can use to distinguish such establishments is the quality of their soups. Is it just warm water loaded with salt and MSG, or does it truly have a rich flavor of multiple components? Very few buffets will pass that test, unless of course the only place you've had such soup is a Chinese buffet. I started going to Jade China in the very early 90's when I was a teacher in the area. I went there because my students were working the front. I became enthralled not only with the food but the fact that the owner was Chinese, the cooks were all Mexicans, and my country kids were working the front. It gave me hope that Conway would someday become a cosmopolitan city. I'm still waiting for that to happen, but I'm proud to report that Jade China hasn't changed that much at all, except for the fact that the new Asian owners spend a great deal of time in the front along with the country kids. The Mexicans are still in the back, and I don't believe the recipes have changed one bit in almost 20 years. Jade China is another one of those rare places where I found one thing I absolutely loved, and I haven't ordered anything else since. That would be Family Style Bean Curd. I'm not a tree hugger or PETA type or anything like that, but the way those people kick the fried tofu, there's no reason to go back to meat ever (except for the fact that Whole Hog is not too far away). The Family Style Bean Curd is a wonderful meal. It's a little on the spicy side, but if you're OK with that, I'm sure you'll find it to soon be to one of your new favorites. The interior is less than desirable, which doesn't seem to phase the majority of folks that order take-out. I myself want to have the full experience of the restaurant, so I always eat in, which in the 90's meant I was eating at Jade China almost twice a week. This continues to be a very busy restaurant, which speaks to the quality of all offerings on the menu. My only recommendation would be, whether you decided to eat in or take out, try the Bean Curd--not to be missed.

About every two weeks I get that urge to dibble my taste buds in Chinese food. I was recommended this place by my aunt who has a knack for finding the best restaurants. I always order the fried rice and sesame chicken and without fail it is the best in town. I love the hearty helpings! It usually leaves me with enough food for leftovers for two days! After discovering this place a few months back, I have yet to eat at another Chinese place. I feel like I would betray this cozy little place and from that day forward my chicken might not be as good. I recommend this place to everyone. If you want great Chinese this is the place great and fast service and they don't disappoint!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
