This is a really good hamburger joint ! Great prices . I got the garlic bread hamburger and it melted in my mouth! One of the Best hamburger I've had and I have eaten at a lot of hamburger places even gourmet places. If you are near stop by!

"Cheap eats can't be beat"! I have been meaning to visit a Steak 'N Shake for quite sometime after hearing about them from a friend. There is a still a burger joint in this country that reigns supreme, so it is very hard for me to find another that closely compares. I enjoyed Steak 'N Shake and especially loved the prices... burgers and fries under $4... now that's a deal! The place was packed, when arrived, but we were still able to get a seat upon arrival. There was a hostess that seated us, in addition to that, she was our server. Service was fast and friendly. They are famous for their steakburgers. I ordered the double cheeseburger (patties only), since I am not hamburger bun fan. My husband ordered the new New American Melt and ordered some mini cheeseburgers for my daughter. All orders came with skinny fries, which are my preferred french fry style, so already a couple stars for that. It was niece to eat a burger that wasn't greasy and the fries were cooked perfectly, too. We left happy and wanting more. This time, Id id not get a milk shake, although they looked amazing... they were enormous, so definitely next time I will have to try one. The burger patties were thin, but filling. If you are big eater, you may need to order a couple plates. Anyway, it served its purpose and I have to hand it to them because their signage is fantastic off the interstate We thoroughly enjoyed our food and will definitely be back. My only complaint, the food was not piping hot like I would have liked it to be, but it's all good, it was still yummy! We need one in Baton Rouge.

The place was packed packed when we got here and empty when we left. The burgers were OK, but the shakes are a different story! They were both really watery (like a large glass of mostly melted ice cream). When we asked about the watery shakes we were told that we needed to order them and ask for them to be THICK. I've been to many Steak 'n Shakes. I cannot recommend this one!

Got in when they just opened. No one here, quick & friendly service! Watched her cook my breakfast burger and hash browns, awesome food, awesome experience!

I am generally not a fan of chain restaurants, but this steak and shake is clean friendly and food was prepared quickly and hot. Stopped in right before the lunch crowd on a monday and almost forgot I was at a fast food joint by the level of service we received.

No complaints on the food (nacho cheese double steak burger and the grilled cheese steakburger) or shakes (mint/Oreo and white chocolate) we got.. The waitress (Chrissy) we had was less than satisfactory however. Luckily the management working was in good spirits and more than willing to make sure my boyfriend and I were taken care of since our waitress wasn't too enthusiastic about her job. Didn't catch the managers name who helped us but we were very glad to have someone looking out for us.

I personally don't like their burgers or fries but their shakes are out of this world! Totally worth splurging on the calories for a turtle shake or any of their specialty shakes!
