I had an absolutely wonderful time at the Berney Fly B & B!! I was on a solo road trip from LA, CA to Atlanta, GA and found this darling spot a great place to lay my head for a night! The accomodations were lovely, Steven was a tremendous host with great dinner recommendations (Kitchen on George was delicious, thanks Steven!) and great info on the city of Mobile as a whole! I truly lucked out on the visit! Breakfast in the morning was a masterpiece!! Homemade everything; cheesy, garlic grits, eggs and sausage, and a cultivated recipe for delicious biscuits!! Loved it!! While it was my first time in Mobile, it certainly won't be my last! The Berney Fly is at the top of my list of places to revisit ASAP!

Very disappointed in the unprofessionalism of one of the owners, Stephen. My friends and I go there often and have never seen such a display of poor customer service and immaturity in our lives. We were introducing one of our friends to our favorite spot, who happened to bring her baby. The other owner, Enoch, was very nice and explained to us that children are not allowed, but he would make an exception since she was a first timer. An hour or so later the other owner, Stephen, arrived. After being informed of the baby's presence, he made it a point to come over and explain again that children are not allowed. We got the point. We should have left after that occurrence, but we decided to stay and enjoy the day. This place does NOT have it's liquor license so they allow you to bring your own beverages. Well, my friend who not only has a baby but also has a glass bottle. We understand, no glass bottles, but Stephen made it a point to ostracize her in front of everyone at the pool. He was yelling, while she remained silent and let him finish his rant. It upset her so much to the point of tears. When addressing it with Stephen, he said he was glad that she was upset!!! It was totally uncalled for and unprofessional. It left a bad taste in all of our mouths, and we left immediately. Stephen was even so gracious to hold the gate for us, while my friend left crying and holding her baby. We have never been treated like that in our lives. Totally appalled and completely uncalled for. If Enoch knows what's best for him and his home/business, he'll get rid of Stephen. He's a loose cannon and very unprofessional. He also tries to evangelize guests....

We were very happy with our stay. We came into Mobile as part of a longer trip, and Steven helped us see what an interesting place Mobile is. He gave us good suggestions about what to see and what neighborhoods to explore. We ended up staying an extra night. Breakfast was excellent. The coffee was excellent. There is a very nice pool and jacuzzi in the back yard, a nice place to hang out. The best you could possibly expect in this reasonable price range.

Mobile is a great city, here's three facts: 1) there's no last call for alcohol, as long as you can convince the bar to stay open, they can and will serve, 2) Mobile was the original spot for Mardi Gras and New Orleans' version came later. 3) Every time I am in Mobile, the Berney Fly B&B has met and exceeded expectations. It's location is awesome, right in the center of the town, with live oak trees stretching across Government street. True southern class. I've been going there for many years and it's like visiting with family (except fun). The house is clean, beautiful, and full of antiques. Every room has it's own bathroom. The food is always a great start to the day, seriously the best cheese grits ever. Stephen and Enoch the owners always have helpful advice on what new (or old) restaurant to try. Their backyard is a pool party waiting to happen. Free beverages in the pantry. What more can I say? Go there, and enjoy.

My husband and I stayed here a few weekends ago since it was within walking distance to Ladd Stadium where the Senior Bowl was taking place. Beautiful house, very cozy and comfortable. I am sure the outside grounds are amazingly beautiful in the summer. They have a nice pool with nice fountains. I really liked the vibe I got when I entered the house. The two owners were decorating their Mardi Gras tree when we walked in. The owners who live here were very accommodating. One thing I would say is don't talk politics with these men. You might get into a steamy debate over the Pres. and Nancy Pelosi. Just stay away from that subject. Other than that, it was a great stay. We truly enjoyed ourselves.
