Bangkok is the best Thai food in Mobile, at least from the places I have checked out. Their Tom Yum and Fried Wonton are fantastic. Every entree I have had was good or great. That said I can understand some of the negative reviews...mainly because of price. It is a good bit more expensive than your average Chinese restaurant. It is a great place to go but going all the time will break the bank.

WHOLE IN THE WALL... food isn't bad but way over priced for what it is..

I actually love the place, but I only get the spring and summer rolls with peanut sauce. It's my favorite. This location is open on the weekends while the Government one is NOT (unless that has changed).

Unfortunately quality of food has Drastically declined. Has been a Favorite for the past 20 years, very Disappointed . Hopefully the old Chef will return or give instruction to the New regime.

The food here is very good. The pad thai is delicious, the curries are fabulous, and their tom yum soup is very tasty. They have recently added sushi to their menu and it is good quality. I have lived in Mobile for 6 years and I go back every so often to see if their service has improved. It has been consistantly awful for all 6 years. It's especially bad if you go with more than 3 people.

Bangkok is A-OK sometimes. The quality of food is just not consistent. For example, I LOVE Tom Ka soup. The first few times I went, it was ok. A little watery for my tastes, but the flavor was good. Then it got even more watered down and one time it didn't even taste like Tom Ka. I asked our server if there was a new chef because the Tom Ka didn't taste right. He just said no, and left it at that. The Pad see Ew is delicious. However, once it was a bit dry. We asked for more sauce and they said no, it doesn't work that way (how it's cooked). This is the closest place to my house . I want it to stay open so I can get my Thai fix, but I wish the service and consistency would improve. Oh, it's BYOB, which is awesome. The interior is also quite beautiful.

The service is consistently terrible BUT the food is consistently fantastic! They absolutely have the best spring rolls ever! The pineapple chicken fried rice is great as well as the bangkok chicken. If you go expecting great food and terrible service, there will be no surprises.

Great place and so much larger inside than it looks from Airport Blvd. The best fried won tons we have ever tasted. The thai tea was also a delight. Such a family friendly owner that made the entire time a delight check out my posted photos. We always order from the menu not buffet it's fresh and hot and no MSG .....ever. Pineapple chicken fried rice was a great treat. Very attentive servers.

Everything we had was delicious! From the spring roll to the pad thai! Rangoon's were a weird color...but who cares when they taste that good! Don't be fooled by its exterior: hiding on the side of a building with a run-downed feeling. The inside is a burst of color and really contradicts the outside. Only complaint was the waitress didn't tell us there was no free refills, so we ended up paying three times what we expected on fountain drinks. Make sure you ask about anything you're not sure about!

This place is really good. We had: Tom Yum and Tom Kha soup, Summer Rolls with Shrimp, and Spicy Basil. It was all hot and fresh. I have eaten Thai food the world over and this place is a strong 4 stars. Decor: The inside is beautifully appointed with Thai furniture and decorations. Communication with the staff was very easy and a change to our order was made with no problem. *most reviewers that gave it low marks had really weird reasons.

I tried their lunch buffet for the first time last week and was very pleased. Many of their menu favorites - pad thai, tom yum and tom kha soups, spring rolls and summer rolls, curries, etc.- were included in the buffet. They also offered brown rice with the buffet in addition to the usual white rice, which I very much appreciated. We will definitely be back!

Food was OK, service was confused. No beer or wine! I believe they don't have license to serve beer or wine.

My wife and I dropped by for a Sunday lunch. There were hardly any people there. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our orders were brought out fairly quickly, and our glasses were never empty. That is a huge plus in my book! The food was delicious! We shared an order of the gyoza and a bowl of the Tom Yum soup as an appetizer. She ordered the yellow curry with chicken, I had the Pad Kee Mow. The gyoza was a little different that I am used to, but it was still tasty. Everything else was spot on! We will definitely return for more!

This place is fantastic! From the outside it doesn't look like much (being awkwardly located on the side of a building) but upon entering I was taken aback by all of the beautiful, traditional Thai decor. I wasn't expecting much, but the menu is extensive and everything we've tried was delicious. We usually start off with iced Thai teas and crab ragoons. Both are full of flavor and every bit yummy. I also order a small bowl of thom kha soup, which always tastes freshly made. The servers also bring complimentary house salads with homemade peanut dressing. For our entrees I usually get the crispy chicken (SO GOOD!!) and hubby gets the crab fried rice (also wonderful). By the end of the meal there are enough leftovers for another meal! The prices are VERY reasonable for the quality of food. The only negative I would say about this restaurant would be the location and the fact that they don't feature a duck entree like I'm used to. Other than that, if you're looking for delicious, traditional Thai food at an excellent price, stop by!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! My favorite Asian restaurant. EVERYTHING is so delicious, and I've tried a lot from the menu: pad thai (my favorite), red curry, tom yum soup, thai tea, crab rangoons, tom ka soup, sweet and sour chicken, and more. The inside is beautifully decorated so you're in a Thailand atmosphere. Don't judge by the outside. The service is great and the wait for food is never too long. Great food, staff, service, and location.

I used to really like this place. My last experience there I found a long hair in my pad Thai. The waitress acted like it was no big deal and took my plate away. I had to flag her down a couple min later to ask if I could get a new meal. It came but my appetite was gone. I was charged full price for my meal and my gf meal. They even charged me 25 cents for water. Dear Bangkok Thai, step yo game up...

I've been to Bangok Thai multiple times and the food was pretty good most of the time. Along with the consistently good food was also a consistency of prolonged wait time for food. Everytime I've been there, even on slow days where there are only 3 -4 tables sat, it would consistently take around 30-40 minutes to get your food. Last time I been there, I took my parents for my father's birthday and it took roughly 30 minutes to get our food. Disappointingly, the food wasn't even good this time as we ordered the fried rice and tom yum soup and our shrimp didn't taste or smell fresh. For me, that is a bit too long for food that is mediocre or even good food. I know some may say that "the food is so good that it's worth the wait" but come on, how many top restaurants do you know exchanges good food for longer waiting time? I used to work in the restaurant industry too and had tips docked if it took more than 15 minutes to get people's food out. Therefore, I firmly believe in the 15 minute rule. To be a good restaurant, you have to provide good food and good service via friendliness, refilling drinks appropriately, and delivering food on time (within 15 minutes). So for my reccomendation? If you only have an hour for lunch, don't come here. Even if you have an hour for lunch don't come here. The drive back and forth and wait time with surely make you late. If you are free for lunch or dinner, dine at your own risk and convenience of your time. If you are craving Thai food? I would recommend Peking on Hillcrest Rd. They have tom yum soup and pad thai that is compareable to Bangkok's and has fried rice that is better than bangkok. You can call in advance a place a to go order if you are in hurry also.

I remember when I first moved down to Mobile and had BTC it was amazing. It was spiced just right and the curry was so delicious. Now? ... Not so much. I tell them to put in very little spice in my food (b/c as much as I like it, I just can't handle spicy anymore :() and my boyfriend likes his food to be extra hot. What do we get? Both of our entrees barely seasoned at all. I also never eat in, I always take out. The last few times I ate there no one could speak English and couldn't understand a single request. It'd be nice to have someone who could understand me wanting some more sauce to go w/ my spring rolls. :-/ The people are sweet enough... it'd just be nice to be understood. After that I always ordered takeout but now that the seasoning is so sub par, my boyfriend and I rarely go anymore.

I'm surprised at some of the poor reviews for this restaurant, which I consider one of the best Thai places in the area. Perhaps they've improved over the years. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with ornately carved tables, and the servers are patient and kind. The Pad Thai is my favorite dish here, and everything is reasonably priced. It's a great place to visit for a quiet dinner with just my husband.

Bangkok is the best Thai location in Mobile. Food is always good. Little long on the wait but the good makes you forget about the wait. Same as Yen, the kitchen staff is very small and they cook everything from scratch. They even grow their own herbs and veggies. The space is very beautiful. The tables themselves are just good to look at, even without food on top of them.

We had a wonderful vegetarian dinner for four three nights ago. This was our first visit. We ordered the vegetarian pad Thai and fried rice (both with no egg) and the vegetable entree (which was served with a side of white rice). For appetizer, we had veg summer rolls. The summer rolls were very good. These were made with a slightly thicker rice paper than we are used to, so while less delicate, they were easy to handle and fresh tasting. The small taste peanut sauce salad was a tasty treat and the Thai donuts were out of this world I taste and were wonderfully little pillows of yum! I was especially impressed with the Pad Thai. It was not oily or gummy like too often found at other restaurants. We ordered everything only mildly spiced because we were with elderly parents, but it was still nicely flavorful. For ourselves only, we would go spicier. The restaurant decor is beautifully done and the service was really good. Glad we read about it online

I agree - not very good. I'm not sure what happened. This is a case of a very good, little hole in the wall place - trying to appeal to more people and thereby compromising what made them popular in the first place. The original Bankgkok on Highway 90 in Tillman's Corner was excellent. The food was always well seasoned -perfectly spicy - and fresh. And the place was always clean as a whistle. They got popular - and decided to branch out. When an existing restaurant moves to or opens a new location on Airport Boulevard..............WATCH OUT!! You can pretty much expect the quality to "go to hell in a handbasket".

Since I've moved away from Mobile, I always make an effort to eat here when I visit home. The food is awesome, the waitstaff is almost too nice, and it's incredibly affordable. I have no idea why people are giving bad reviews. I've never had a bad experience.

Beautiful gem literally hidden away in Mobile on Airport Boulevard. I was born in Mobile (whoop, whoop!) and can't believe that I did not eat here until I turned 21. It was on the day that I moved away to Texas with my husband. Now, every time we travel to Alabama we go all the way to Mobile to eat here. Very special memories, luxurious decor, and the best tom yum soup ever. Ever!

Wanted some that food and found this place near me. So disappointed. $10 buffet and food so not worth it. There probably was 8 item as entree and 3 are vegetable dishes. The fried rice was cold. Seems like all the entree are chicken only dishes. The stalk are really nice n friendly like if you ate at home. But as far as food. Big disappointment.

I got the panaang chicken curry. I love spicy food, but I decided to get the mildest option (just in case) and it was inedible. If you don't like spice, don't get this curry lol you will die. The rice tasted like it was days old, but the steam noodles were great! Overall, pretty mediocre.
