Excellent pizza with some delicious unique toppings but the service was a little slow. Will delicately call in for take out instead next time

First visit to Athens in a long time and I must say this place anchors the location well. Much equivalent to a local's Mellow Mushroom, the pizza was good and for reals the idiot hot sauce is actually reallllly hot. Definitely recommend going here if you are in the area.

Had Village Pizza for lunch at work. I tried a slice of the vegetable pizza, the everything pizza, and the cheese pizza. I'm from Chicago and I know pizza. So believe me when I say you'll get a better pizza in the suburbs of Chicago rather than the colon stoppers and gourmucks you find in the city. Now back to The Village Pizza. Crust is like Dominos, kinda chewy bready. Dominos is good when you just drove into a strange town and it's midnight with nothing else open. But at least Dominos has nicely tangy sauce which I can't say for Village. The sauce and crust make or break pizzas, Village Pizza is great for lil kids, an upscale Chucky Cheese like pie. The location is excellent though, I did walk past the restaurant when I was exploring the town square of Athens. Please, do explore the Square, check out the beautiful Antebellum Homes and explore the old town Cemetary a few blocks up the street on Washington. If you have kids, make a deal, you get to explore, they get the pizza at the end of the walk. Cheers Danno

Traveling through Athens on an extended business trip, I was not impressed with the food from Village Pizza. The delivery was fine- within a reasonable amount of time, and the guy even called to confirm the room number of our hotel before leaving, but the food was just so-so. We ordered a custom 12" pizza and a dozen wings. The pizza wasn't bad but a bit overwhelmed with globs of cheese. The crust was very ordinary and too similar to Pizza Hut for me to desire again. The wings were a huge disappointment, I'm sorry to say. I'd really been craving wings for a while, but these were plump full of fat and skin, with surprisingly little meat on them. The sauce (village honey) was also disappointing but if you dunk anything in enough ranch, its okay. Overall, the pizza + wings was $32 poorly spent and I will order pizza elsewhere from now on.

A drop-in anytime friendly, casual place with decent and affordable food right in the heart of Athens. Every community should have a place like this. My other dining options were closed on Monday evening but this place wasn't.

Loved the atmosphere, decor. Had read a review that they have the best thin crust pizza in the area. That may be a true statement but we were hoping it would be better than it was. They crust was soggy and the pizza lacked stand-out flavor. Overall nice presentation and nicely darkened crust. Maybe we went on an off day. Would be worth trying again.

Great local place. It's not NY pizza, but it's still good. They have a couple great sandwiches and salad options. Nice little selection of draft beers. The service is usually really good and on certain nights they have live music. Overall such a cute local fare right in the heart of downtown Athens.

Pizza was fresh and loaded with goodies. Nice atmosphere and live music several nights a week. Limited pizza/sub menu. I will be back.

Good pizza, just kinda pricey. My wife loves their pizza and thinks it's way better than other places, but to me it's my be a little better than dominoes. The best part about this store really is the ambiance. I've been several times, and it's a fun place to eat. They often have live music and they usually have good service. Check it out if you want to eat on the square in Athens.

Routinely stop here with co-workers for lunch when in town on business. I've never had a bad experience here. No wait seating even during prime lunch hour. Server attentive and order taken timely. Crust is a thin but not crispy style. Not quite Brooklyn or New York style but close. Much better than pizza chain typical crust. Sauce is a typical robust thick tomato base. All toppings seem to be fresh not frozen. Overall way better than pizza chains but comparable to a Chicago Pie or Brooklyn/New York pizza it is not.

Friendly staff and great place for family to eat & enjoy their meal together. The pizza was okay and can't really tell the difference between theirs and pizza hut or domino's. Their chicken wings were a bit tough but had a good sauce.
