Attracted by a McDonald's nearby. Then I suddenly realized this place was recommended by YELP, can't miss it. Half seats occupied, and more are coming at 00:30am! Well served especially the double cheese burger. It's a pity no more shakes at the moment. Salads are ordinary.

I'm so disappointed. I brought my little girl here for dinner and pie after a long, difficult day. It took over 30 minutes to get our food and it came as the same time as the check. We were not given the option to order pie, just told, "You pay up front." The restaurant was not busy. We didn't have a complicated order (breakfast for dinner). When paying we were not greeted or asked about our experience. Bummer experience.

Great menu options and superior service. The food came fast and I had the turkey bacon and avocado sandwich after the waitress recommended it to me. She even brought me some texas toast that someone had ordered and then changed their mind about. The toast and sandwich were great!

Didn't even know there was a VI in Spenard but got an invite to meet our daughter-in-law and youngest grandson for lunch after their soccer practice. Wow, what a nice, clean, friendly resturant. Service was fast and with a smile. Wife and I share the BLT (1/2 # bacon) with onion rings and left full and happy.

It's close to work and we frequent this place. The staff is always friendly and jovial! The Grown-up Grilled Cheese is my favorite! Recently I had a pot pie and I'll definitely order it again. If you're having trouble deciding where to eat try the Village Inn in Spenard!!

Most the time service is good, sometimes service just isn't great though. I love the chicken fried steak.

I was in search of a restaurant near my hotel for breakfast. It wasn't anything special and reminded me of a ihop. There is a variety of things to choose from. I ordered the omelet but found it to lack flavor. I gave this restaurant 3 stars instead of a lower ranking due to their quick service and very friendly staff.

We arrived in Anchorage after midnight and we were starving. Our hotel rep suggested this place for a late bite to eat. I must say I was not disappointed! Our food arrived hot and tasty. The place was clean and well maintained! Our server answered all of our questions about the menu. He was friendly and got our food and drinks quickly. If I ever return to Alaska again, I would chose to come here again!

I had a great experience here with the food and the service. My frontier burger was excellent and packed with calories=good. This burger is served open faced and smothered in their queso sauce and french fries. The burgers are juicy and crumbly, which I like. Did I mention I had a double? Really, this place may seem like another Dennys knock off, but it's good stuff in my opinion. There are other locations in Anchorage and this review is for the one across from Wendys and McDonalds.

First time in Anchorage and this was thr first place we ate, late night. Had the crepes and they were delicious, it came w hash browns and normally i dont care too much for hash browns but these were delicious...not too crisp, not crispy and just a hint of buttery goodness taste. Everything was just fresh! Ronald took care of us and he was amazing and funny as heck...just a peach. Good prices too!Thank you for having us!

My friend and I come here every Wednesday for brunch to gossip. And relax. The staff is great, the food is good diner food and not expensive and the place is clean. Free pie on weds. Is a plus. My husband and I also come here when we are in the mood for "Brinner". ( what our granddaughter callers breakfast a dinner time)

The food is great and the servers are always friendly. My wife and I often have our breakfast here. one morning after ordering my food, I got up to use the restroom and happened to pass by the kitchen or prep area. Unfortunately it was a mess and bits of food was on the floor. It was a turn off, I think cleanliness should be a top priority for all restaurant.

Great people, great food... Nice, new clean inside. Even when order is messed up, they jump on making it right. Many meals are too much food to finish...even for my big appetite.

Cheap diner food, one step higher than Denny's. Got breakfast for $10, which is a bit steep, but filling. Crap coffee, but they give you a jug for quantity over quality. The bathroom is gross and always smells, its almost their trademark.

Excellent breakfast food at the Village Inn. I had the Breakfast Sampler, and everything was delicious. Of special notice was the large, thick slices of sourdough bread. Yum! This place is open 24 hours. It's bright and very clean inside. Expansive menu with almost too many choices-- and that's just on the breakfast side. Highly recommended for breakfast.

The food is worse than imaginable. Bacon was inedible - so undercooked, hashbrowns were raw inside, and hollandaise was not hollandaise. To make matters worse, the guests on both sides of the booth we sat at dropped F-bombs and talked about their time in jail. Just awful!

This is easily the coolest Village Inn in Anchorage, but I rarely go there even though it's close to my ghetto digs. While it is good for people watching, it's proximity to other sketchy hotels and the abundance of transients and tourists sorta puts me off. If I'm gonna risk life and limb, it's gotta be for something special. The Spenard district is known for it's abundance of cool mom-and-pop ethnic eateries, so the last place I'd eat in my neighborhood is a chain diner. Nearby is Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Mexican, Thai, German, Himalayan, Indian, etc .... so I just can't bring myself to eat white man food in Spenard unless I'm forced to. Seems like a shame since it's a perfectly decent Village Inn, but them's the rubs!

Came here because he were in the mood for something to eat around 4 am and this place is open nearby 24 hours. Wanted Banana Cream Pie but they were out of it, so got a slice of Coconut Cream Pie. When we went to pay, the Banana Cream Pie showed up in the display case. Wi-fi available.

No better place for a late night desert or early morning breakfast -- 24 hours a day. Great people and a warm welcome go along with excellent food. Ate lunch at another "Village Inn" the other day and found the best in Diner-style food and service.

Absolutely excellent service, great diner ambiance. These folks do omelette right - fluffy, not dry and stiff. Try the Alaska Omelet (reindeer sausage and cheese) with house potatoes instead is hash browns. SO good. It is a smoked sausage style, covered with yummy melty cheddar cheese (not American style cheese food). The French Toast is also excellent. Highly recommended by this user.

Pleasantly surprised at how well the diner is kept. Probably the nicest pancake house in town. Service was great even with my kids testing the waiter.
