Great looking place with decent sushi. I say decent simply because their spicy tuna was overloaded with SPICE! I like spicy but I also like to TASTE my food without burning out my taste buds or having to blow my nose every 5 seconds from it running. Otherwise the other sushi was good.

By far my favorite sushi spot in Anchorage. Beautiful servers, greeted when you enter, and the food great, been coming here since 2005 and still happy!

I used to love Ronnie's, it was the only sushi place I'd eat at. That was until I ordered the Ronnie roll to go the other day and made the mistake of not checking the food before I drove all the way home. I got home, sat down at my table, opened the box only to find a pile of lettuce, rice and beef. It was definitely not a sushi roll. I wrapped it back up and drove all the way back to the Jewel Lake location to get my money back. In my hurry I forgot to pack the sauce back in the bag before I went out the door (I have a newborn baby so I have only so much time I can be in the car, and eat lunch before she's up and ready to eat). When I got back to Ronnie's and showed the lady what they had given me, her first comment was 'wheres the sauce?'. I told her that what was in the box was not the Ronnie roll I had ordered but instead a pile. She have me my money back but insisted she had checked the box herself (obviously not because I didn't go off roading, I simply drove home so there was no way for a tightly rolled sushi roll to unravel into a pile of old lettuce and dry beef and rice and somehow lose ingredients that are normally in the Ronnie roll). It was such a jerk move to serve that, so I won't be going back there. Sucks because I've usually gotten good food there, even once before when I had ordered for pick up. Bummer , but I'll find a new sushi spot :)

My wife and I went in for dinner. We had a dragon roll and a crunch roll. Not good. The rice was dry and tasted old. Worst of all the unagi was very mushy and tasted and smelled fishy. Tough to go back to a sushi place that seemed to serve old ingredients. The waitress saw that we did not eat half of our order and did not ask if the food was OK or not. Very unimpressive experience.

Great sushi for everyone. I would have to say that it is the best in Anchorage. Ronnie has delicious fresh fish and the rolls are off the charts delicious. Large portions compared to other sushi restaurants around the country. If you love fresh fish make sure to try the Toro if available. Rolls of choice would be the, Boyfriend/Girlfriend Roll. Open Your Mouth Roll, Hey-Ya Roll and the Ronnie Roll. All of them are absolutely amazing make sure to let the chefs know if you want something to be less spicy.

Came in here this evening with my mom, my 1 1/2 year old son and myself. They asked if it was just us and we said yes. They sat us right away and left us there for about 10 minutes with no menus or highchair. We finally had to ask for them and received only menus. Then when the waitress came to order we had to ask her for a highchair and she seemed irritated by it and asked to take our order first. We ordered 3 things off the menu and then she then asked if chop sticks were okay and we said yes. She came back with kids chop sticks where there rubber banded together... And then FINALLY a highchair! I am a big sushi eater so I definitely do not need KIDS chop sticks and was a bit offended. Then finally she came back with soup and 1 salad.. We ordered 3 different things off the menu.. Finally we got our food and none of it was even okay.. Sesame chicken tasted like fish... Sushi roll fell apart... And then the udon tasted like top ramen broth.. Save your money...

I have heard nothing but good reviews of Ronnie from my friends. I went with one to try it out one afternoon. There were only five or six people in the whole place when we got there, and our waitress was completely unattainable and very dismissive. It took me *three* times to finally secure a to-go box. The tea we ordered never arrived. I swear her pants were on fire, because the few times she actually came to our table, she raced off to extinguish the apparent flames that were licking at her haunches. The rolls were mediocre tasting, and I quickly determined that there are far better overpriced sushi joints in town that I'd rather blow my money at. Do yourself a favor, and don't even bother.

Definitely my favorite sushi spot in Anchorage. Good bento boxes and even better specialty rolls. Ronnie always has the freshest ingredients and will recommend rolls based on your tastes. Everyone who works there is so helpful and friendly, and I've never had any trouble with service or wait times. If you want sushi, go here! You will not be disappointed.

I have only had togo, but I was quite impressed. I definitely want to dine in here sometime soon. I forgot what I had but it had spicy tuna and shrimp tempura on the roll (it's Ronnie's signature roll), it was delicious and very presentable! I had the nigiri combo and the sushi were all well made and the fish were cut nicely. I wasn't a fan of the spider roll, it was just too big. The crunch roll was good, nothing too exciting. I was also disappointed in the miso soup, it lacked taste, green onions, and tofu (some places still put in some seaweed) which are the basics for the soup.

Every time my husband and myself go we receive great service and entertainment. Sonny the server is a awesome lady!!

Ronnie has an impressive menu of specialty rolls, (at least 30 to choose from,) as well as a full dinner menu with Japanese, Korean, and even some Chinese influences. Prices are average for sushi ($2-3 for nigiri, $10-15 per roll.) Inside was nicely decorated and the waitress was very polite. Sushi quality was fine, not the best or the worst, but what I thought took away from the quality and taste was the rice; packed too tightly, unseasoned, and cold. It was more of an effort to chew through the roll/nigiri which made the dish less enjoyable. That said, Ronnie Sushi is still a nice and tasty place to eat and I would go back to try some of their kitchen menu and for their assortment of Specialty Rolls.

Awesome sushi! Great service! Make make sure to try a Ronnie Roll. The Open Your Mouth Roll is fantastic. Make sure to bring an appetite because the servings are big.

The atmosphere and food was really good. I didn't care fore the Viagra role but my buddy loved it. I would come back again. By the way, the waitress is still hot.

Good kitchen food, great rolls, high quality sushi (Ronnie will send fish back to his suppliers if it's not up to his standards) all served in an excellent atmosphere...

It wasn't what I hoped it to be. Only reason I actually went there was because i heard that the creator of the ronnie roll (which is delicious!) from sushi ya opened this place up. But the rolls we got from this place were so so..

We've eaten sushi at many Anchorage restaurants and have found Ronnies always leaves us wanting to come back for more. Very friendly staff and great service.

I love their albacore tuna roll mmmmmmm. They put too much rice in their rolls though. But yeah, they have very decent portions, friendly service, and it's just one of two Japanese restaurants I go to.

Poor service even worse food. We had to wait 45 mins just to be able to order drinks and the place was half empty. The food was so bad we had to reject it and left for another nearby sushi place. Buyer beware.

Overall, the sushi's great, but the service sucks . It takes the waitresses a long time just to order food. The rolls are pretty decent sized and I always leave full. I love their Ronnie Roll :)

Very good sushi, try the Ronnie roll you won't be disappointed. The ebi is wonderfully sweet.
