The dining area is very clean and nicely done. The waitresses are very friendly. I ordered and the chips and salsa was their in a heartbeat. The chips are like Mimi sops. Delicious . I had the beef and bean burritos with rice and beans. Very good flavor on all .I was expecting the smother to be a good green pork chili. I wish even though the smother was a pork chili it still was good . Highly recommend trying this place out.

I've been here twice I like the rice, retried beans, and salsa. Now the ground beef on the other hand has no flavor. No seasoning. The service is terrible here. Once you get your food they pay no attention to your table. You have to pay for salsa and chips? Geez. All the Mexican restaurants in Torrington is like this. Do yourself a favor. Go to taco johns. It has flavor

Food is good but OMG the prices! For 5 people drinking water we paid over $85 and had nothing overly complicated. Now I know they need to make money but really have you seen the cost of tortillas lately? Not that expensive... Simply can not afford to eat there!

Admittedly, it's been a while since I've been to this restaurant, but I can still remember the delicious meals that I've eaten here. It's about time someone put a review out on this place and hopefully there will be many more to come. Some people may dismiss La Familia Prado from its appearance and simply drive by on their way in and out of Torrington. Much like many other locally owned establishments in this town, this place is simple and doesn't dress itself up with unessential things. You certain confirm its simplicity as you walk in and get brought into a large echoing room that is the main dining area. The service is done with a smile and you get the sense that this is definitely a family-owned restaurant. Chain restaurants are very spotty with the service, but you get the sort of dressed up flare with your meal, courtesy of private investors that don't really care. I try to avoid those places because, I try to keep my money spent locally whenever possible to keep small businesses around. As for the food, the dishes all appear to be fairly authentic Mexican. I would usually get the enchiladas, burritos or tacos and these were always up to par with some of the more popular spots in Colorado. The food comes out in a decent amount of time and you'll be attended to if there is anything you need as you eat fairly quickly. The price is very acceptable and I feel like I get my money's worth here. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, but I would especially encourage the locals to support this place and keep them around so I have a good Mexican place to eat at when I visit!

I'm really hoping we just caught this place on an off day. After 5 minutes I finally had to put on my Corrections Officer persona and go get our menus myself. We should have left, but we'd never eaten here and wanted to give it a try. We ordered chips and salsa. They came AFTER the meal, after we reminded the waitress we had ordered them. She had been nowhere around to remind we had ordered them before she brought our meal to us. Rob ordered a Dr Pepper, I ordered a Margarita, they finally came after 10 minutes. I timed them. Is it possible to have a WARM Margarita on the rocks? Yes. After I squeezed all the juice out of the fruit and stirred for a minute it was drinkable. Tamales were tasteless and dry. Beans and rice were tasteless. Salsa was mediocre at best. The enchilada improved the meal. The taco was their redeeming factor. I actually had juicy flavorful chicken and the shell was done perfectly. Everything was covered in iceberg lettuce and chopped tomatoes. So....definitely not authentic. I don't know if they were short staffed. I don't know if things were bad because we showed up 25 minutes before they closed. I just know we shall NOT return.

Nicely decorated authentic Mexican restaurant. The waitresses are young, attentive and pleasant. We learned that Prada is the family name, not a word in Spanish. The food is very good, including the steak. Prices are reasonable. The drinks are big and fancy with fruit and decorations in them, I had a mango margarita. We go here often and I always have to get a box to go because the portions are large and they give you chips and salsa first which are the best I have ever had. This place is busy every night so we get there early to beat the crowd.

This is our favorite restaurant! We are always treated well by the staff, the dining area is clean, and even when we get take out they know our orders! The food is flavorful, just the right amount of spice and I adore that I can get corn tortillas & guacamole! Also their salsa is my absolute favorite around.... My only complaint is that on occasion when we get take out my order doesn't arrive home as I ordered it, but it's still really great food! I highly recommend the jalapeno margaritas....so yummy!

This is the place if you want to eat authentic Mexican cuisine. I was traveling via Torrington and there nothing else to eat I. That small city. We stopped at Garcia first but it was almost 8 pm and open sign was lit and they did not want to serve. Next I see this place, request server if they can prepare some food, owner is also chef and he was happily prepare 8 people great food. Thank you for the awesome food.

Not the best service, but that's fine. This is the best Mexican restaurant in town.
