High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Worst service I have seen at an applebeas location. If you are looking for good food and good service then this is not the place you want to go.

Less than a week ago, my husband and I came in for lunch. We got two Bloody Mary's and an appetizer sampler to start. The drinks were fantastic, Kelly is a great bartender. However, we waited 25 minutes before our waitress came to tell us someone had dropped our appetizer and it would be out soon. Meanwhile, the table next to us had arrived, ordered and already received their food. Finally, about 45 minutes later we got our sampler and our lunch at the same time. The food was good, the service was extremely lacking.

Not sure at all why people say the service sucks, I found it quite the opposite! Went expecting poor service but I wanted a beer and wifi and it was all I could find in the area that had both! Guess my surprise when service was great and the food was good! From the time I walked in I saw waiters and waitresses helping each other and no patron sitting waiting for service. Pleasantly surprised after reading the reviews. I frequent Applebee's is WA where I am from and was disheartened when I read the reviews, I say you have no worries if you want to stop here, service is great and the burgers are really good, I would come back here if traveling through again!

So I put off coming here for several hours even though it was the only non-fast food option within walking distance because of the bad reviews. While it certainly isn't the best place I've ever eaten, I didn't think it was that bad. Had to stand a minute or two before being seated, and another few minutes before the waitress came by, but it really wasn't anything egregious. Food came out without too much delay and was hot and yummy. Burger was cooked perfectly, although you only get two options: "pink or no pink". That's verbatim by the way... Tried saying medium and my waitress said "sorry, only pink or no pink". I said no pink and it actually came out a perfect medium (ie slightly pink in the middle but cooked through). Waitress was friendly and prompt when bringing a to go box for my leftovers and my cheque. Overall thought it was pretty standard. Maybe they've read the reviews and are turning things around, or maybe the only people who bother to review an Applebee's are the ones who had a bad experience. Either way, thought I'd leave a review for those of you like me who were afraid to come because of the reviews. You won't be blown away, but you shouldn't be disappointed either.
(3)Chad B.
Come here often and service gets worse and worse. Sad to say since this is one of the few options here.

Worst Applebee's I've ever been too. Waited 15 mins for a table, even though the place is half empty. Took just as long to get a server as it did to get a table. If you're thirsty, double your drink order or you'll never see another. All this before Happy Hour...
(2)Grand M.
From: Local The only time you get what you order is when the manager is on top of it. I just don't know why they give you less than what's on the menu. Are you not supposed to say anything? I wish the excuses for not having an order served in a reasonable amount of time and everyone's order at the same time would be great. It's not right. Some orders are over cooked, and some are under cooked. Lunch was good, once.

Ok people. You have been warned. I was warned. Twenty years ago, my husband and I put ourselves through college working at Applebee's. I remember the food was good, and the job was not hard. What has happened over the years? Ugh! The restaurants in RS are limited, very limited, especially when half of the town's power is out. For my husband's birthday, we were looking forward to Chinese. Our six year old begged for Applebee's instead. Well since we weren't hip on eating in the dark, we conceded. We waited for over fifteen minutes before we were even greeted. A multitude of waitresses looked our way, but never acknowledged our existence. Nearly two hours later, this hideous experience came to a close. While we were comped an appetizer, someone scraped BBQ sauce off my hamburger and threw the onions on the side, as if I was some genetically challenged goon that wouldn't notice. The food overall was okay, but I don't like being tortured when I'm hungry. Should've eaten in the dark. Or, just been patient. The town's electricity was up and running after leaving Crapplebee's. NEVER again, at least in RS!

If you want rude customer service, lazy table service, dirty bathrooms and management that doesn't care, Applebee's in rock springs is your place to go. My husband and I have tried to eat there on 3 different occasions to no avail. Bottom line spend your money anywhere else. Total disgrace to the brand!

(2)Danny B.
I always say we will give them one more chance to pull there food service out of the curb, only to be put right back in it. We had good service but alas food quality suffered again.
(2)Fernando S.
The worse Applebee's ever! Arrived a little after opening with my family of 5 and was told there was a while wait due to only having 1 server. Really? I felt really bad for Vickie who was handling the front all by herself while there were other employees sitting on their ass just not having a care in the world!! Amie was our server and she was very apologetic. As for the managers, instead of coming out and helping your employees you let them be overwhelmed. I am a new owner here in town and I do not tolerate such poor service towards customers! Without customers you have NOTHING!
(1)Richard L.
I really didn't care for the food at all. The staff was very polite and attentive to my needs. The service was what you'd expect of any decent restaurant; however, the food was horrible. We ordered the asiago chicken ciabatta sandwich and the triple play appetizer with cheese sticks, steak quesadilla towers, and chicken wings. With the appetizer, the cheese sticks were ok, the steak quesadilla tower was mediocre and bland, and the chicken wings were straight up undercooked and still bloody. I was terrified because chicken should not be consumed when it's undercooked. The ciabatta sandwich was soggy, the chicken was bland, and it overall wasn't that impressive. If it weren't for the good personality of the waiter, he wouldn't have been tipped at all. The only reason why I'd recommend this place to others is for the service; however, nice people don't necessarily make nice food, unless you're a cannibal. And, if the food isn't good, then why go to a restaurant at all?
(1)Romain C.
Just drove into Rock Springs from SLC so I'm glad that this place was open late. Their menus do make you hungry and order the food from the photos. I ended up with the Take 2 of the 4oz sirloin and rosemary chicken. Yay, they got Fat Tire, my new favorite beer and oh those photos again made me order the brownie bite. I was happy with my order and it was just enough. Cherie was an excellent server.
(4)Serena C.
I have given this Applebees plenty of chances. It's always terrible service, cold food, and never a drink refill. My family and I really love the spinach artichoke dip but after many times of having mediocre food I've decided to just make the dip myself and avoid coming here.
(2)Liz V.
YUCK! This is the worst Applebee's restaurant I have ever eaten. I ordered a steak cooked medium and twice had overcooked meat drenched in butter sauce. The vegetables were raw and cold. I am almost positive the recooked 2nd attempt at the meal had the same raw undercooked vegetables from the 1st attempt still on my plate & reserved to me. The red potatoes were slimy and undercooked as well too. I went back to my hotel hungry that night.. It's a mystery to me why people were waiting to get in and seated when I left that evening. Worst meal I never paid for. I would rather have my food served correctly than have the bill adjusted for the terrible food.
(1)J S.
Found a hair in our food. I wonder how many we didn't see.
(1)Boyd W.
I average staying in Rock Springs 2-3 days a month for work. I gave this place a try. Won't be back. At first I was indecisive about what to order. I told shaniqua just a few minutes more to decide. 10 minutes later....as I am about to leave she comes back and I place my order, shrimp scampi linguini and a coke. I get my coke, after 15 minutes or so, I get my food....bland and cold. After 2 bites I push it away and wait for my waitress. she comes by after a few minutes and asks if everything is ok, I asked her if she could at least put this in the microwave for a few minutes to heat it up. I get a text from my wife and before I can answer the waitress is back and she put parmesan cheese on top. I took 1 bite of a squash or zucchini and that 1 bite was warm the rest, no change cold. I push it away and she comes back again, whats wrong this time....I told her its cold. she offers to take it back and re heat it, my answer was I am not interested. she sends over her manager and she wants to take it back to reheat it and I told her no, I deserve hot food the first time. They then have the nerve to try and charge me for it but she says I took that off the bill just pay for the drink...I showed her my drink which was 80% full and said really? I'm not paying for anything. she said ok. I got up and left. won't be back. went across the street to KFC, food was hot and tasted better with better service.
(1)Mike S.
This is one of the worst Applebee's I've been to. Probably only topped in 'take it or leave it' attitude, poor food preparation and obvious food cost cutting portion size by Williston, ND.
(1)D M.
Awesome waiter delivered excellent recommendations and then great dinners. Steaks were done to perfection. Great service, atmosphere.
(5)John E.
This place was just about the worst restaurant that I have ever ordered food in. I just got a promotion and wanted a nice steak to celebrate. I ordered a 12 oz ribeye, and got a cold tasteless slab of meat and mashed pots that were overcooked and bland. Service was slow and it took a long time to get my dessert and ticket. I felt bad for my server, I don't think it was her fault, and I tipped 20%, but something in the kitchen needs to happen. This food is horrible.
(1)John M.
NEVER EAT HERE!!!!! TERRIBLE FOOD, SERVICE, CLEANLINESS! The Rock Springs Wyoming Applebee's Restaurant has got to be in the Top 5 Worst place I have ever ate. From the moment we walked in the service was rude. They were not busy at all and wanted to seat us at a table. After traveling most of the day we wanted the softer seats of a booth and asked to be seated in a booth. She had the audacity to say "WAIT, I have to check with the manager to see if it is okay"! After being seated we didn't see a waitress for nearly 10 minutes. There were 12 service personnel in the restaurant and most were gathered at the end of the bar joking and actually grabbing each other on various body parts. The so called "Manager" was walking around the place but doing nothing. This guy couldn't manage a game of Tic-Tac-Toe! When our food came they had gotten my wife's order wrong but made no offer of correcting it. My Chicken Fried Steak was okay but only luke warm. All of a sudden LOUD, alternative type music started blaring from the speakers above. The "Manager" actually began to sway with the music. UNBELIEVABLE! Several customers had to ask to have the music turned down. When the manager turned it down the staff would go right back and turn it up. The bathroom was disgusting and looked as though it hadn't been cleaned for a few days. The place smelled of urine and trash was all over the floor. The sinks were filthy. My best advice is to dine elsewhere. ANYWHERE BUT APPLEBEE'S in Rock Springs. I truly believed that Rock Springs took pride in their image. I certainly hope that Applebee's isn't a reflection of the real Rock Springs, Wyoming.
(1)Donald S.
Wife ordered the rib eye and it was excellent. I opted for a burger and it too was very good. Place was crowed and service was goo.
(3)Trisha N.
Terrible service. We stopped in Rock Springs on our way to our new home in Twin Falls, ID. By the time we got in town and went to get something to eat, it was after 9pm and most everything was already closed. We generally love Applebees, so we though it would be a good option. Boy, were we wrong. This Applebees was awful! We sat for 10 minutes just waiting for our server to come to the table to get our drink orders!
(1)John R.
Bad, just bad. Out of the right buns for our "handcrafted" burgers that were boiled in oil when we got them. Rock Springs has no service industry. They couldn't take credit cards because the Internet is down. I am feeling bloated and a little ill and I haven't left yet. Bad, just bad.
(1)Tom S.
Food was ok, service was slow. Not as bad as some of the reviews but I won't rush back in.
(3)
