Great. In the middle of Wyoming. I'll be back again one day. Best Penang curry. On to Grand Teton.

If you are driving thru the middle of Wyoming, and you love Thai food, then you should get off I-80 and try this place. You won't regret it. The place is located near the downtown area of Rawlins in a corner store front. When you step inside the walls are red with thai tapestries displayed along with a mandatory picture of the thai king and queen. The ceiling has a couple nice chandeliers and tin ceiling tiles painted gold. We went in around 6 pm and there were only a couple people in there, but by the time we left (7 pm) it was mostly full. We ordered off the dinner menu a sesame chicken entree and a shrimp pineapple fried rice. We also ordered a beef laarb appetizer which they forgot about and we had to remind them about it. Sesame Chicken was nice with a citrusy sweet and sour sauce. The shrimp pineapple fried rice was ok, it had a nice curry spice flavor to it but we would preferred some searing on the shrimp, which was more like the cold shrimp you put in a salad. The nicest dish was the laarb, which was nicely spiced and quite fresh. I thought was one of the better versions of this salad dish. The weird thing about it was a paleness of the beef, which didn't appear pan/wok fried but more like it was ceviched, though I'm not sure if that's how they actually cooked it. But the way that the beef is, I believe matches the dish (it is a salad). Anyway, try out this place if you're in town or passing thru on I-80.

Really good food, great service and very clean. If you come by this town make sure to stop and eat here, very unexpected

Can you believe it? In Wyoming of all places I had the best Thai shrimp salad ever, I scarfed it down!! The women at the front desk at the Hampton Inn recommended it to us.

Hubby & I decided to try Thai in the middle of Wyoming and to see if the reviews could possibly be true--and yes! It turned out to be the BEST Thai food we've ever had and believe me we've had a lot! Loved the soup that they bring out right away--chicken rice with an amazing broth. We ordered the steamed pot stickers that were fabulous in a curry sauce and there were 8 on the plate! Then we got the Chicken curry which was so tasty--a little mild for us so we asked for their chili sauces & this made it fabulous! But the piece de resistance was the Crispy Duck! Absolutely amazing--so crispy & NO fat! We loved everything about this place! You must go if you are traveling thru Rawlins!

Who woulda thunk... Small town, with a pretty darn good Thai restaurant. Super friendly service, clean, convenient parking. If you are driving through town or a local. You need to make sure you give this place a try. The veggies were super fresh and the chicken was quality white meat.

We stopped here about half way between Denver and Grand Teton National park for lunch. My salmon was perfectly cooked, which I find doesn't happen very often! The kids loved their Pad Thai and my wife enjoyed her Thai shrimp salad. Spring rolls were just ok but everything else was great!

Very disappointing. My wife was bugging me during our entire 4000 mile trip to find some Thai cuisine somewhere. We were lured in by one of the freeway signs. I should have known better than to expect good Thai in a small city in the middle of cattle country. The complimentary pork soup was obviously mostly water flavored with soy sauce--gross! My Tom Ka soup was NOT spicy, as stated on the menu. It was overly sweet. I could not see or taste ANY lemon grass. And it was loaded with mushrooms that had turned! Really? Rotten mushrooms??? My wife's Shrimp Pad Thai wasn't bad EXCEPT it was completely lacking in spices. It was also completely missing the bean sprouts, as promised in the menu. She added cilantro, basil, lime, and hot sauce (she asked the server to grab these out of the kitchen) and it was passable. My 13 year old daughter wouldn't even touch her Chicken Noodle Soup. Is this what passes for good Thai in Rawlins? Maybe...if you've never tried good Thai before. I guess we're spoiled by some superb Thai in Minneapolis. Wake-up Anong's Thai--as a BARE MINIMUM, meals shouldn't have missing ingredients or spoiled ingredients! These owners have given up on serving good food. What a disappointment. We should have tried a good American beef joint somewhere in town. -Daddy Maxx Retro

So far I've been here a few times. Their chicken and shrimp pad tai was great. The place is cozy and welcoming. Their beginner soup is good and their muscle plate is good too! Nice people

Fabulous find in Rawlins! We had yellow curry and spicy eggplant pork, highly recommended. Great service, too. Worth a stop.

  • Chris T.

So I sincerely hope the dinner menu is better than the lunch buffet. The food amounts to bad Americanized Chinese buffet with one curry dish. Everything is overcooked and it swaps out staples of pad Thai, Tom youn gun curries or chicken satay for miserable renditions of Chinese standards- lo mein, fried rice, beef stir fry. All in all a terrible choice. Head somewhere decent if your stopping through.

Quite enjoyable lunch! Good phad Thai, chicken and rice soup, and BBQ chicken. Nice lunch buffet as well. We were driving through and took a chance. Good service as well. If we ever make it back this way we would stop again.

Excellent little Thai joint in the middle of nowhere! Great Thai fried rice and Thai iced tea! Highly recommended if you ever pass by this area and are sick of burgers and pizzas!

Anong's was great. I didn't know they had such great Thai food in the middle of nowhere.

    (5)
  • Mark G.

Excellent Thai restaurant. Chicken satay was on of the best I've ever had. Kee Mao was good but I've had better. Pad See-u looked tastier. Did not expect to find a Thai place this good off the beaten path. Highly recommended.

We arrived just before the kitchen closed. My Garlic stir fry with tofu was hot and tasty. Half went to my doggy box for my breakfast. Thai custard we shared was devoured with pleasure. Closing time can be hard on any restaurant but these folks eere great and so was the food. Stong recommendation.

So I'm from Rawlins and I just Love, love the food from Anongs! I would definitely recommend ordering off the menu, don't go for the buffet, it's ok just not the best. Now the service on the other hand is HORRIBLE! It seems like every time they get good help they move them to other location and Rawlins restaurant gets stuck with the bad service. Every time I go there during the week while they have their buffet going I get nothing but attitude for asking for a menu. The one lady is just so rude I don't know how she still has her job! It's got to the point where I only order to go!

Our previous experience here led us to return. Still love it! Decor is very basic with a few wall hangings, but the food flavors are terrific. Large bowl of Tom Kai soup with lots of chicken and mushrooms. The Crab rangon is sweet and flavorful. The duck curry was lightly spiced with lots of sauce. Our difficulty with the meal was that we couldn't' have dessert because we were too full. Very limited choice of wine by the glass. Had to rate it 4 stars because of the wonderful flavors in the food.

  • David T.

I thought the food was really quite good. Service was excellent and the staff was friendly. If you like Thai and find yourself in Rawlins stop by.

Passed through Rawlings on my way to the east coast. I ordered the Salmon Green Curry, one of their specialties. The salmon fell apart in my mouth, so perfectly cooked. The vegetables included red and green peppers, asparagus, carrots, and zucchini. First of all, they were cooked the way vegetables are supposed to be cooked-with a little crunch still in them. Secondly, the vegetables were HUGE. I was eating with a spoon and each vegetable was so large I had to break them in half to eat them. It was awesome. The curry itself was flavorful and had enough spicy in it to get my nose running. Which was great because I'd been congested. The portion was well worth the money. I can really pack away food and I had enough left for a nice bowlful for later on the road. The ratio of veggies to salmon was on point, and they were very generous with the amount they included in the curry. This was THE BEST green curry I've ever had. I would purposefully drive through Rawlings again just to stop here and have more curry. They also had a lunch buffet that had a nice variety, and some dishes were definitely Americanized, but in the middle of nowhere Wyoming I think that was a smart choice. They had a staff member stirring and turning the dishes on the buffet line every 5 minutes or so to keep everything evenly heated which I really liked. At a lot of buffet places the dishes get unevenly heated or even burned. If you're passing through here definitely stop in. You won't be disappointed.

I love Thai food. And I know good Thai food when I taste it, and THIS is FANTASTIC Thai food. Very authentic. The owner is from Bangkok Thailand. Her and her immediate family are the ones who started this restaurant. Their workers are almost strictly Thai. We visit family here in Rawlins, and EVERY time we absolutely must got to Anongs. We primarily get the spicy steak salad, but my husband has ordered almost everything off the menu, and has never been disappointed. Definitely worth going to Anongs!

  • Christina W.

Stopped in while on a road trip after seeing their billboard off the 80E. We ordered the veggie Pad Thai and spicy eggplant (with chicken). Both were tasty! I order Pad Thai at every Thai restaurant I go to and this one did no disappoint! The veggies were so fresh too (carrots, broccoli, zucchini, and mushrooms). The ladies there also gave us free soup :) Definitely recommend!

Always excellent food. Consistently good whether it be lunch during the week or an afternoon meal. The menu is simple. The portions are great and they always bring you some great soup when sitting down for a meal. Their weekday lunch buffet isn't real big but it delivers on quality. Try the pad Thai.

We went here based on the Yelp reviews and we too were impressed by this little Thai restaurant . We were traveling through Rawlins and were skeptical about all the positive feedback but the food really was delicious. We had a late dinner there (8:30pm) and they closed at 9pm. The shrimp dish was fresh, well prepared, and a decent sized portion. The garlic beef dish was seasoned just right. All of our meals came with a small cup of miso style soup.

Fantastic Thai food for a small town in Wyoming. Pleasantly surprised by the quality. Massaman shrimp and pot stickers were excellent! If you don't like spicy let them know or choose a 1.

  • Allen C.

This small town just off of I-80 is a convenient location to get lunch if you're driving between Salt Lake City and Cheyenne. At first I assumed that there wouldn't be a lot of local food options and it would be more of a fast food & refuel kind of town. But I went on Yelp and noticed a lot more reviews for this place than for any other place and figured I'd check what the hype is. The quality of food is comparable to Thai food found in California. Price is pretty comparable to California prices too. We got the buffet option, which was only $10.50 before tax. We checked the regular menu first and the buffet is definitely the way to go. Individual dishes are already $10-$20 so you might as well go for an all-you-can-eat option for much less. It has a lot of variety, such as green chicken curry, egg rolls, fried wontons, soup... I'm guessing they rotate things once in a while so they may not always make this stuff. This seems like the place to stop if you're making the trip across I-80. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of Asian food they have in Wyoming.

It is worth the trip to Rawlins just to eat here! Never thought I could find pretty authentic Thai food in WY, this place is great! I had the lunch buffet today, I am usually not a fan of buffets but this was pretty good. I have been to Anongs before, and ordered off the menu, that is where the GOOD food is! You won't regret swinging by for a meal.

  • Sabin L.

The food is outstanding. Compares with the best thai restaurants I eaten at anywhere.

  • Joe L.

I've started to eat at more Thai restaurants. We stayed overnight in town on a long road trip and yelp suggested this place. It was really good. The owner was cooking that night and she has two other restaurants, one in Laramie and one in Cheyenne. The food is as good as the other reviewers rave about. We had the pad thai, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, and fried rice. The food is light with great flavor.

Anong's is a little place downtown in Rawlins. The food is good and the staff have always been nice when I have been there. They have a lunch buffet that is popular and they also do takeout.

So glad I read the reviews and stopped here! I usually do not like buffets but the lunch buffet here was great! They had wonderful massman and the ginger beef melts in your mouth! You can also order from their regular menu if you prefer. The service was excellent!

I had eaten here when passing through two years ago, and had the pad Thai. I was pleased with it then and decided to stop here again on my way through. I hadn't remembered the service being so poor, or else I wouldn't have come back. I walked in the door after a long morning of traveling, and there was no one in front to seat me. A person in the back motioned me back to the kitchen, and I was confused. She tried to hand me a take-out order. Granted, I had sweat pants on for more comfortable traveling, but it seemed weird she just assumed I had called the order in. When I said I was there to eat, she pointed to a table, got me a drink, and never came back. I assumed that because of the buffet, I must not have a choice to look at the menu, so after waiting for her to reappear, I helped myself to the buffet. It was like a Chinese buffet. One mediocre curry dish, but mostly low mein and crab Rangoon. Nothing spectacular, but not terrible either. I was really hoping for Thai food on the buffet. This fact combined with the service knocks this place off my list of restaurants when I'm traveling interstate 80. Just got the bill-13.25. Too pricey for what it's worth.

Great find in small town Wyoming! Just passing through on our way to Park City, UT and were sick of chain (crap) food, so we decided to give this little place a try. Food was great! Our teenaged daughters got the lunch buffet and were pleased with it, but it looked a little worn out to us (not any more so than any other buffet though). We ordered the Pad Thai and chicken Satay and were very pleased. Both were excellent and came with fresh accompaniments (a very welcome addition after too much road trip food). Service was fast and excellent! You wouldn't think there'd be great Thai food in a little town off the freeway in Wyoming, but this is the place! We highly recommend!

  • Jessica G.

Amazing service! The soup starter was just fantastic. It was my first time ever trying Thai food. I had the shrimp masaman and the shrimp were huge, juicy, perfectly cooked. I would like to come back and try more.

  • Lucas M.

I don't really have much to add to what other reviewers have said except to point out that Rawlins is just about halfway from Salt Lake to Denver, which makes it the perfect place to stop for lunch if you are making that drive, or vice-versa. I had the lunch buffet for $10.50 and took a small sample of just about every dish they had, and every one was fresh and hot, and the green curry was the best out of the bunch. Super nice staff as well. A nice stop to break up a long day.

  • Wiley C.

Oh how do they do it? This is our favorite restaurant along I-80 while crossing Wyoming. I have traveled the world, and this Thai food is among the best. Great food, good prices, and friendly service. Stop reading the review and head for the great food! If I had any criticism it would be they ran out of Singha beer. But all else more than made up for it! Third stop for us - twice last year, and then today. Yep, we will stop on our way east.

    (5)
  • Jed S.

Really quality food! Great friendly service. I always go if I'm in Laramie, Cheyenne, or Rawlins. All three are just amazing.

Recently stuck in Rawlins during your garden variety May blizzard in Wyoming. Anong's is an oasis of well-prepared food in Rawlins. It was refreshing to have something with some spice and fresh!

    (4)
  • Avery U.

This place is worth checking out. The lunch buffet is good but unless you stuff yourself, it's a little too expensive for my taste. Then again, buffets have to be a little more expensive so I can hardly blame them for it. I also had the pad thai which was good. For $10 I'd say it's fairly priced. Good presentation and it hits the mark. It's not the best I've had but I wasn't really expecting it to be either. The staff aren't the warmest people you've ever met but they don't diminish the experience. Unfortunately, they don't enhance it either which can make the difference between a place you like and one you love.

  • Bruce G.

My friends and I picked this restaurant as we were passing through town. It was lunch time and they had their buffet spread out so we decided to try that. I went for the buffet even though it did not look like they had a lot of choices. There was a chicken and rice soup and few fried items, a curry dish, and a couple of veggie/beef/chicken entrees. I tried a several of the entrees. What immediately hit me is that everything I was eating did not have much flavor or seasoning to it. The other impression I got is that all the food was quite greasy tasting. The food was bland and greasy, there wasn't a great selection, and this was definitely not a good value.

We stopped here for a quick lunch while on a cross country trip. Less than a mile off of I-80 in Rawlings, so easy to get to, and the GPS took us right there. There appeared to be many local people here, which is always a good sign. We started with the Summer Rolls with peanut sauce. I thought they were great, but my wife didn't care for the tofu inside. I didn't see an option to order with shrimp or chicken... they should add those options. Perhaps if I would have asked, they would have made it special for us, but I didn't think to ask. The Green Curry Chicken dish and the Salad with Shrimp were both quite good - I especially enjoyed the Cilantro in the salad. We've had better Green Curry elsewhere, or I'd give them a 5, but for a place we just stumbled across in the middle of nowhere Wyoming, it was great. Service was fast and we were on the road again in less than 30 minutes. I'd definitely stop here again on a future trip.

My roommate and I were driving from Chicago to Portland and were staying the night in Rwalins. We of course were craving real food besides road trip food (i.e. bags of jalapeno Cheetos) so after seeing their advertisement from I-80 I knew we had to go. From our hotel the restaurant was pretty close and were able to find easy parking, I guess this is not surprising since it's not a big city... Anyway, we were immediately seated and were given hot soup, which was perfect cause it was freezing outside! I ordered the Pad Kee Mau (Maw? I forget how it was spelled) and thought that was spicy which I loved, the spicier the better! My friend ordered the spicy basil eggplant which she thought was ok. She was disappointed that it wasn't very spicy and that it was too oily, the eggplant soaked up all the oil. Was a little pricier than Thai places in Chicago (kinda surprised by that) butt still reasonable.

  • Joe J.

If I was a big fan of Thai food, I'd probably be really excited about this place, but I'm not. The service wasn't exceptional, but it was sufficient. I've eaten at their counterpart in Laramie and I think the quality of the food is better in Laramie. Even though my food wasn't what I really wanted, I could still tell it was not bad food. If you're looking for Thai food and driving across south central Wyoming, this is your best option without a doubt.

  • Penelope B.

Totally tasty Thai food in a random location! I went here in August on the return leg of a road trip. It was very very good Thai, exceptional for Wyoming. The locals seemed more interested in the Chinese-American style buffet lunch but we ordered Thai specials and were very pleased. We tried the Drunken Noodles with tofu an the spicy garlic shrimp appetizer. Both really good, nice and saucy, with good, fresh, flavor. Pretty decor. Try the Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee, too. So good.

This restaurant had very quick service and is warm with a cozy ambiance when you walk in. We received complimentary soup with our meals that were the perfect thing to warm our bones after coming in from the freezing weather. Our appetizer of egg rolls were fresh, crispy, and very tasty. We had the Yellow Curry, Panang Curry, Pad Thai, and Fried Rice which were all delicious. The curry portion sizes were perfect and gone within a few minutes. Reasonable prices too. This restaurant is easy to miss due to it's size and location, but it is definitely worth stopping by if you want great Thai food in the middle of Wyoming.

Gem of a Thai restaurant. Very nice little place if you find yourself overnight in Rawlins. Good service, great flavors, generous portions. If you like lamb, the basil lamb is as good as any I've had so check to see if it is on the specials board.

  • Sheila B.

Totally unexpected to have such awesomely good Thai food in Rawlins. But the other reviews made us give it a try and we were not disappointed. Will add this to our list of great restaurants to eat at as we drive cross country.

  • Nathan A.

Food has great flavors, decent serving size, fast service. Some of the servers didn't speak English very well, which caused confusion with a larger group of people when they brought us out dinners. But they made right by everyone. Not much privacy but a very open sitting area. You will be able to hear everyone's conversation. But the food makes up for it...

  • April J.

Anong's is awesome! The surroundings are gorgeous, the food is as good and as authentic as anything I would find in SoCal, and everyone is very friendly. You won't be disappointed. I love the pad thai.

Great little place. Perfect road trip stop to get away from fast food. I chose the lunch buffet; it had nice selections, but in retrospect I wish I had ordered from the menu. All of the dishes had good flavor, and the menu offers a good range of options.

Very surprising to find such great Thai food in WY. From the soup to the curry to the tea to the service it was all just spectacular. Whether you're a local or a visitor passing through, it is worth the stop.

We stopped in Rawlings to eat on a road trip and found this place on Yelp, what a nice surprise. The food was great, the price was what I expected or even slightly less. I never expected to find Thai food in this town let alone some that was above average in my opinion. More Thai style not American Thai if you know what I mean.

  • Monica S.

I had the Pad-see-yew with chicken which was fantastic, and my husband had the Tom Yum Seafood soup, as well as the summer rolls. Everything was extremely good, and authentic and it was so surprising to find a Thai place in the middle of nowhere. I give it 4 stars only because there was 1 server for the entire place, which actually got fairly busy on a Sunday around 1pm. It took a while for him to get to us to take our order, but once we put it in, it didn't take long for our food to come. Cute, small place with deep red walls, gold tin ceiling and decor from Thailand. Looks like they have a lunch buffet during the week for just under $10, but otherwise, dishes range from 7-12 a plate. Wish I could have tried the sticky rice for dessert, but I was too full! :)

  • Dub T.

Stopped here in disparate need of a quick meal on the way through Wyoming, and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the buffet. There was a decent selection of almost everything from the a la carte menu, but with better pricing! Food was tasty and not laden with MSG - a small miracle in itself these days. We were able to load up on enough sustenance to keep us going through the next 300 miles of Wyoming wilderness...

The faded signs along I-80 E definitely piqued my attention - and I am glad that they were still open as I arrived just before the end of their lunch shift. I had some of the best Thai food - just as good as I can expect in the Bay Area! The rest of my meals on this trip back east just did not equal the lunch I had here in Rawlins - excellent service, clean restaurant & bathrooms, delicious food. Excellent vegan version of thai tea (ask for it with lime, no condensed milk). I had the crispy spring rolls and pad prikh king (spicy) - all perfectly prepared and delicious!

  • Melissa H.

Not the best thai I've had but pretty good none the less....especially since this is really the only REAL ethnic food you can get in a million mile radius. Was doing a drive from Winnipeg, Canada to San Diego and was sooo tired of the Subways and truck stop food along the way. Anong's Thai was heaven sent on our hair pulling drive. Thank you Anong.

We stopped in here traveling through and the Yelp rating helped us decide this was the place to eat. VERY good food and good service. My husband and I shared the Pad Thai and Spicy Fried Rice and there was more than plenty of food. Each dish was $10 and prepared very well. Definitely worth a stop.

  • Tristan C.

Surprise!!! Thats the reaction I got when I entered this establishment. A thai cuisine in the middle of nowhere. Why not right? In the middle of our cross country ride from midwest to land of the glittering sign, we stop at this place and ended up very pleased. We got their lunch buffet and for the first time in my life I got myself a thai buffet in a thai restaurant. Although it comes with lots of mix chinese food, all and all its very satisfying. Their noodles and their curry top with their banana fritters for dessert are awesome. Go on and try it if you are ever in rawlins, wyoming.

Nice service. Had the Ginger entree and Veggie Thai entree, both with tofu. Both where the perfect lite lunch fare while making our way to Denver. If ever in cute Rawlins again, I would do it again.

After doing some R&R in Thailand in the early 70's and returning for military maneuvers in the mid 80's, along with the fact that a fellow Army Aviator has a Thai wife who owns and operates a great little Thai restaurant in Enterprise, Alabama, I may know a little about Thai cuisine. I stopped here on June 15, 2012 on a trip from Salt Lake City to Canova, South Dakota and ordered off the menu. As the cook and staff are from Thailand, they had no problem doing me a green papaya salad, which was the best I've had outside of Thailand. No stinky tiny fish, but great nonetheless.

We saw the great sign driving down I-80, and we are very glad we stopped! I am very surprised to see a 2 star rating. Look, if this place was in any city with more 100k people, I could see a lower rating (3 maybe..), but I challenge anyone to find better ethnic/Thai food within 100 miles of this place. This is Rawlins! Okay, so we had a beef dish (forgot name, sorry) and Pad Thai. Both were very good. The beef dish was very well seasoned, and full of great romaine lettuce (better lettuce than I get 90% of the time in chain restaurants). The Pad Thai was ... Pad Thai! Even better for travelers, the service was very fast, we were in and out within 30 minutes. The place has great decor and is located right off the business loop. If you like Thai food, and you are passing through on I-80, stop by, I'm sure you won't regret it.

We're probably among a good handful of travelers pulled in by Anong's freeway signs. They work well. The place was beautiful, welcoming, the servers were great, just what dusty travelers need! We started with an interesting appetizer that was heavy on the fish sauce, not something I thought I'd like but it was great! The massaman wasn't bad, the beef was good but it was flat mild and the slices of avocado were an unwelcome first for me. I heard a local ordering later and asking for it spicy, which I guess I should have done, if you don't ask they may default to no chili which I can't hold against them. My wife had never tried fried ice cream so we grabbed that for desert. The vanilla bean was great, the shell flavorful and cooked perfectly, but it was a shame this gem was covered in Hershey syrups and store style whip cream. We ended up scraping it all off and it was much more enjoyable. Compared to our favorite spots in TX and UT as well as homemade Thai Anong's came up quite average. But it was probably the nicest meal we had on the road for 2 days.

What? Rawlins? We worked here, at the edge of nowhere, Wyoming. Two day drive. Sleeping in the car. Working outside all day in the dust and heat and cold. And then someone says, "hey, want some Thai food?" And you say, "we're in Wyoming." And then you go to Anong's, and you are delighted and confused and stuffed full of excellent Thai. For Rawlins - heck, for I-80 in Wyoming in general - this is the best place to eat. This place is my masaman standard. Every other place fails to come close. The cashews are firm and the avocado (which isn't standard in masaman everywhere) was fantastic. All of their dishes are bright and fresh, which is probably some kind of miracle so far from any big city. A gem like this is rare, and if you are anywhere near Rawlins and craving some Thai - or some excellence in general - you will not be disappointed.

Cashew Nut entree with chicken and steamed rice had the best seasoning I have tasted at a Thai place. It looked like too much to eat but it was so good I cleared the plate. My wife loved her Pad Thai with shrimp and the fried ice cream.

Cozy restaurant with nice atmosphere. I sampled from the buffet: sesame chicken, broccoli beef, green curry chicken, veggie egg rolls and their desert. All good flavor. And fresh. Recommend to anyone in the Rawlins area.

On a big road trip on I-80 from SF to Chicago, we get real hungry in Wyoming. We stop in a few of the 'sizable' towns and even with the iPhone app don't find anything promising and pass from town to town. We end up here because of the prominent highway advertising.. Salivating, we stop by. It's closed! Crestfallen, we morosely debate our options while parked out front. Someone come out and asks if we would like to come in! Would we?! That's 5-stars right there. The food was okay. Good portions even for the price, and the staff were all very friendly above and beyond working on their break. Definitely reinvigorated me. Definitely stop here!

RAWLINS, WY?? This review is easy. Nice people, nice decor, good food. The green papaya salad was a bit on the spicy side(the owner saw my girlfriends dilemna and brought a small dish of ice cream...no charge!) The pad thai needed some spice...an ez fix. Stop....eat...enjoy!

This is the first time I have ever eaten Thai food... I'm disappointed I haven't done so sooner. When we arrived we were pleasantly greeted and seated immediately. We started off with orders of their homemade eggrolls and an order of beef satay. Awesome! I think I could live off of beef satay! The peanut sauce was amazing. For the main course,i went with beef num tok. I was not disappointed... It was very good. Not quite ready to leave yet, we ordered up dessert. We opted for an order of fried bananas (bananas wrapped in eggroll dough and then fried), and an order of Thai custard with sticky rice. Wow, what an ending!! My family and I are so happy we stopped in. This place makes fantastic food. We will definitely be back. 5 stars!

The food here was so good! We got the tom ka soup, pot stickers, sesame chicken and pad Thai, and everything was excellent. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars was the ambiance (eerily quiet with no background music) and the service, which was less than friendly: we had to get our own menus, out soup was unceremoniously dumped on our table (spilling some), but the food was so good we just laughed it off and enjoyed our meal.

Cashew chicken was excellent and the rating would have been a 5, but the service poor.

Best Asian food in cowboy country! A rare find while traveling. We're from the San Francisco Bay Area and like Asian food alot. Service was very good, food excellent. The restaurant was nearly full of patrons. Make sure you stop here!

$11 lunch buffet is only on mon-fri. Tom Ka soup and Kee Mao (drunken noodles) both were decent. They expanded their location to Laramie and Cheyanne so check them out.

This place is amazing, hard to believe there is such delicious thai food all the way in Rawlins Wyoming! After a weekend on the road and spent in Cheyenne, otherwise known as town full of icky chain restaurants, Anong's was the perfect lunch on the road trip home. It was really brave of us to stop at a thai place in Wyoming, but we were so hungry and so unsatisfied from all the garbage we had eaten all week that I didn't think it could get any worse and therefore worth the try. The service was attentive. It is a smaller place, decorated in the normal thai decor style.....lots of gold and elephants. I had the roasted duck curry and I practically licked my plate clean. The duck was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy inside. The curry sauce was out of this world. It had a little kick, but not so much that you couldn't taste all the other wonderful flavors like the fresh basil. The veggies on the side were al dente, which is exactly how I like them. Too many restaurants, especially thai places over cook the veggies until they are basically mush in the sauce. I hope I don't ever have to drive across Interstate 80 for 8 hours again through WY, but if I do I will absolutely make a stop here!

Wow! What a find....hailing from NY and SF (and driving from one to the other on this cross country trip), we were somewhat skeptical about finding good Thai in the middle of Wyoming. We were pleasantly surprised - right off the freeway, easy to find, delicious food, friendly service and super prompt too! Highly recommend...

Totally random that this delicious Thai spot exists in Rawlins, WY... But, 1st class nonetheless.

On my cross country roadtrip, I got stuck in Rawlins, WY due to heavy snow piled up on I-80. Ended up spending almost 4 hours in this tiny little chainsaw massacre-esque town... Thank goodness for the iPhone + Yelp app... I was actually able to track this place down. You know in those old movies when someone walks into a new place in a town they've never been, the record scratches and the music stops and all of a sudden every pair of eyes is on them? Well that was me and the place was Anong's.. I walked in and all of a sudden I had about 20 pair of eyes on me and every sound was brought down to a hush... I almost did an about-face and run out of there screaming like a little kid, but that would have been weird now huh? So I found a table and took a seat. Taking notice of the employees and listening to them speak. They are actually all Thai. Fancy that... Everyone else in the restaurant? Anglo. No doubt about it. I ordered the chicken with spicy green beans. The flavor actually wasn't bad, but the chicken was so incredibly over cooked that it squeaked against my teeth when I was chewing. SQUEAKED!! I also ordered a Thai Iced Tea. It was surprisingly good. If you're stuck in Rawlins like I was, this isn't a bad place to get a meal. It's your only non-american, non-fast food option from what I remember too..

dear rawlins, you're probably wondering why those of us who stumble in from I-80, curious and more than a little leery of those faded "hungry? eat at anong's thai" signs we've been driving past for the last 50 miles are so impressed by what you live within eating distance of full-time: there are many cities bigger than rawlins in this country. and many thai people live in these places. some of them open up restaurants. and some of those are pretty damned good. but not all of them. and some cities (i'm looking at you, new orleans) have more than one thai family also, but don't have a decent thai restaurant to show for it. but you, dear little rawlins, you won the thai food lottery. because one thai lady who knows how to cook met and married a fella from your neck of the country. they moved back for his work and she opened a restaurant in your town that makes really great thai food. perhaps the best thai food i may have ever had. i say "perhaps" because i'll concede that i may have been charmed by the timing and placement of this discovery. we ordered from the menu despite arriving in time for the lunch buffet. i don't do buffets. nope. there was beef laab - fresh, zesty, spicy, and full of high-quality beef instead of the oft-default ground stuff. there was tom yum soup, just as it should be though next time i'll get the tom kha gai instead, even if my traveling companion is with me again (she doesn't like coconut milk). and there was chicken pad key mao, just as it should be (spicy without being too hot to enjoy). on further reflection, and within sight of the empire state building as i type, i still believe that if anong's was in hell's kitchen and i went there on my lunch break i would still be this impressed. but i will surely be back to more thoroughly evaluate the menu with the element of surprise removed.

I was only here once but what I heard of it was nothing short of great. The dish I ordered was very good and lived up to the hype quite nicely. They even had boba tea on their menu and that is saying something for Wyoming...even though they did not have everything to make it when I was there.

Stopped into this restarant on a road trip from Cali to Colorado late in the lunch hour on a Sunday. The place was nearly empty so we had great service (but suspect service is always strong here). We could have ordered the lunch buffet (Sunday only?) but we went off the menu (shrimp curry, chicken curry, wow!. We were quickly served excellent Thai food. A surprise in this location. Housed in historical building with gold painted tin ceiling - well worth the stop!

My friends and I stopped here on our coast-to-coast road trip. This is among the best thai food I've ever had. All three dishes we order were awesome, and blew away almost all the thai food I've sampled around the SF Bay Area. The roasted duck curry wons best-in-show according to all three of us at the table. Also, look around for the little sign that lists their desserts. The custard sticky rice hit the spot.

Wow. Thai food in Rawlins, Wyoming. I would have never expected this, nor would I have expected it to be especially good. Which is pretty much why I stayed with tried-and-true Pad Thai. But you know what? It is pretty good. If you're driving through on I-80 (or stuck because I-80 is closed ...), stop here. It will almost certainly be better than you expected.

Ate here on our way back from Jackson Hole as we had read on Yelp that the food was good. All four of us will tell you that Anong's in Rawlins was well worth the stop. We had the $9.50 buffet on a Monday late in the afternoon though menu items were available. The buffet trays were not full when we started but within minutes they had brought out new trays full of various food types. You cannot beat the quality of their food for the price. The service and management were so very polite and friendly, So very glad we stopped here and know we will go back the next time we are in the area. Wow it was good!

A very nice place on a 2000 mile trail of fast-foods! The dining room is about 18 feet by 40 feet with maybe 16 tables, very casual. Entrees were $9.00 and appetizers were about $5.00-$6.00. It was really very good food and we were thoroughly pleased to have eaten there.

Amazing! On the last leg of our road trip, we ended up in Rawlins, WY at 8pm on a weeknight. With a growling tummy, a quick Internet search, and a prayer (and because of the best restaurant reviews in town) we decided to stop in at Anong's. We ordered a crab rangoon appetizer, sweet & sour chicken with white rice, & the ribeye steak menu special. Absolutely delicious! I was so impressed and thankful that we had a made a good choice since our only other options were horrible fast food joints. After cleaning his plate, without any hesitation, my husband (a steak-lover and connoisseur) put down his knife and fork and said, "that's the second best steak I have had in my life." The first being a filet mignon at Ruths Chris Steakhouse in Kansas City. I was so excited to hear this! I had chosen a great place! The veggies - zucchini, green onions, peppers and onions were fresh, and I, of course, cleaned my plate as well. My dish was not your typical sweet & sour chicken either - it had a very unique flavor! The pricing was very good as well. We spent right around $40 for this excellent meal.

I was on a cross country trip with a group of people heading West...someone mentioned how great it would be to have a Thai noodle place in the middle of nowhere...then....SURPRISE!!!....we saw the sign for Anong's...we willed it!!...there was a debate if we should take our chances with Thai food in the middle of nowhere....or compromise ourselves with another Subway stop. After a vote, we decided to take the chance. Boy oh boy, are we glad we did. The place was very nice, very clean, the food was great, especially for having next to no options out there. Please make a point of stopping there...you won't be sorry. For those of you who live in a bigger city, the prices are more than reasonable..don't be afraid by the price rating...it's based on the area. It was very affordable. ENJOY!!

Here's the deal: the food's pretty darn decent. But the fact that they have this place in this town and the accommodations are pleasant, makes me grateful. Get there early for the lunch buffet. The wait staff is super-nice and the location works. I hear they deliver, which is a bonus, too. And they were the only restaurant open on New Year's day this year. Thanks, Anongs.

we were on a cross country road trip from LA to Yellowstone and mount Rushmore and believe me, this is the best food I ate in the entire week....thanks to yelpers, I found Anong's and was thrilled when the food came out. My standard for Thai food is high as I eat it at least once a week in LA.....Anong's was really good. I told the server that I like my food spicy and he was all smiles (guess they tame the spices down for the other customers). The food was incredible....we ordered the Penang chicken, spicy eggplant dish with vegetables, Vietnamese style spring rolls....everything was excellent...if you are passing through Rawlings, don't hesitate and go to Anong's....you will not be disappointed.

A great town and place to eat. Very very good Thai food- as good as we have gotten in major metropolitan areas! And Rawlins is a cute town with lots of nice people. It pays to get off the beaten path and go into small town/city America when traveling. You never know what you'll find!
