For what it is, it's good. They have good breakfast and sandwiches. The people there are very friendly and the place is pretty clean. The parking lot is small but they have carryout so it's all good.

We showed up at 9:30, AKA a full half hour before they close. The server was clearly quite annoyed, even though we tell him we're only here for coffee and dessert. That doesn't mollify him in the last. One of us asks him what pie they have, he gestures at the case. I ask for coffee, which he (later: tells me they'll have to make. I don't know what to tell him; either make it or don't, it's up to you. We approach the display case, I look at the multiple pie options, another person in the party decides he wants a muffin, so he pulls it out. I want to make clear, this is not a normal display case, on a counter, it's a standalone butcher type case off to the side. The sever told us nothing about it, and there are no instructions. I did not grab my pie, but after we come back with the muffin, he (not as rudely as he has been so far) informs us that customers are not supposed to serve themselves. At this point, the situation escalates, and the muffin "criminal" decides he's had enough and leaves. I still wanted mine so two of us stayed. The pie looked good (definitely "homemade) but tasted even better. Sour cherries are key to a good cherry pie, and this delivered. The crust was tender enough to crumble (not a bad thing) and the taste certainly suggested some butter, though it could have been something else. My coffee was freshly made, and not bitter, well above average gor this sort of place. I had no issues with the consumables. Keep in mind, we were not here 5 min before close, but half an hour (we finished 10 min before close, before earlier customers), and we only wanted dessert. If you want to close at 9:30, feel free to, but otherwise serve customers courteously and promptly, if you're in such a rush. I tipped him a reasonable amount for the fresh coffee/great pie/good price, but didn't feel like it was deserved; in other words: T.I.P.S. The food/coffee was delicious (4+), but the service was abysmal (-3-). Mentally adjust my rating as you see fit. Hopefully if you get a different server/show up an hour+ before close, so you can focus on the food.

Well we had good service and the fathers day buffet seemed like the way to go. It was all you could eat. The salad was fresh and the chicken gumbo soup was tasty. I was not to impressed with the fast cooked chicken brown on the outside not so on the inside. The mistake I would be inclined to believe was it was there since noon we at eat 6. Go figure.

Horrible food. Steak was supposed to be medium, it looked like it had been microwaved, with burnt outside and brought in the middle. Clam chowder was cold. Philly sandwich was fatty and the vegetables were not cooked. The baked potatoes and store-bought buns filled us up. No one on staff liked their job. Next time we will drive straight through to Casper or get the chicken gizzards at the gas station.

The service here is nothing short of awful, and the food certainly doesn't make up for the poor service. I am a local with kids making our dining options very limited, so we do go here on occasion but that's rare. Pick a different place if you can.

Cute and friendly with a Cowboy Christmas decor. We were headed from Rapid City, South Dakota and Mount Rushmore to Estes Park, Colorado and there are not many options for food along the way. This was a perfect place for a burger or or lunch plate and great service plus cute Christmas decor and down home conversations. Be sure to check out the wanted posters along the walls where the bathrooms are located. I think it would be lively and fun on the weekends.

Waited 30 mins for someone to come and take our order. Waited over an hour for our food to come. One old lady and 2 high school girls wait on the entire restaurant. Very inefficient. Very displeased with the place and service-don't waste your tears me or money here.

Breakfast... chicken fried steak is a pan fried behemoth of meat.. very tasy meat.. Her had corned beef hash and it got rave reviews the hash browns were tasty and crispy as ordered. Youngster got ham and eggs.. and the half of my chicken fried I could not finish. Everything was good except service... it was great. . Attentive quick with the coffee. All in all a good solid stop on desolate highway. I recomend the stop.. it looked like good specials and dinner.

Passing through the small town on a Saturday in early April 2014 on our way to the Black Hills. At 10:30 in the morning, it was pretty empty.Family style dining room and friendly service. SUPER clean restrooms. Great menu and offer multiple specials. Good food and generous portions. I had the biscuits and gravy, my fiance a cheeseburger. Both were tasty! Highly recommended! Would definitely return.

In the ravaged outback of Lusk, there are few eating establishments to be found. Triangle 4 Cafe seems to be the best choice if life has you travelling through the area en route to Mount Rushmore or some other more scenic destination. We stopped into the Triangle 4 at high noon on Friday and were seated immediately. The interior is pretty big and have a good number of tables. The menu is similar to a diner, with some breakfast foods as well as sandwiches and other meals. I opted for the cheeseburger which came with fries or a salad. For starters, thank goodness it's independently owned because we were able to get medium hamburgers that actually had a touch of reddish pink in it! The burger was a pretty good size and had a decent taste. I went with the side of fries and they were good...crispy and hot, and not heavily salted. The missus' had a fried fish sandwich which wasn't too bad...just your typical fried fish patty with some tartar sauce. She also enjoyed the fries. In the end, as Yelp says my three stars say, it's A-OK. Not the best, but certainly far from the worst option in town. If you happen to find yourself in Lusk and your tummy starts rumbling, this is probably your best bet.

service was good, they were even a bit busy - food was fresh. Price was great. Quality was not exceptional, but for the price i was very happy. I had a steak and it covered the plate, came with salad, potato choice (I had sweet potato fries but they have baked and fries and more) bread, crackers, a vegetable. All for less than $13.

Popular spot for both tourists and locals. We were there for lunch and had the bacon cheeseburger and a cold beer. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. The service was pretty good, there were only two waitresses on and it seemed that the were just taking turns as tables walked in. We were lucky in that we got their before they were super busy. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the inside was clean and the food was good.

This place is an embarrassment. It was even recommended by the mgr of the Best Western. Our waitress approached our table smelling like a smoke stack and proceeded to take our order. When I asked for the hamburger steak to be medium or med rare she said chances are it'll come out medium WELL to WELL ! She said its because it's ground beef and you have to cook it like that. So I ordered the pork chops. After what seemed like 25-30 mins our order is delivered. The pork chops were Well Done and very tough and chewy. My wife's low calorie dinner was an overcooked hamburger patty that was crunchy. I ate part of the pork chop and baked potato and that was all I could handle. There was no flavor on the meat. Avoid this place.

I would actually give 3.5 stars but adding .5 not an option. Stopped in Lusk enroute to Mt.Rushmore/Blk Hills about 1pm on a Wednesday. Just a handful of patrons at that time. Very clean establishment. Menu basic grille type food. We had burgers/cheeseburgers. Good portions, reasonably priced. Food and service were good. Would stop again.

Above average dinner for travelers. They also serve breakfast all day. I had the NY steak - good thickness and fat/lean balance. Cooked medium it was pinkish red inside and seared nicely on the outside. Mashed potatoes with brown gravy - good consistency with a few potato chunks - I don't like em too creamy so they were good. They also have a creamy gravy. Mixed julienne veggies were just okay. Daughter had chicken strips - which were huge with a nice thin crispy coating (cornmeal I think) over moist quality white meat chicken. Dad and the boys had breakfast thick french toast and pancakes that were large old fashioned skillet cakes - not like IHOPS fluffy cake flour pancakes, but thick and airy with warm maple syrup. They also had blueberry syrup. Yummy greasy bacon and sausage on the side. The sausage links were a little dry but okay. We had ice water and "pop" (rootbeer and diet coke). They were out of lemonade and a few children's menu items and they only had one vegetable choice that was boiled not steamed which is why I'm giving 3 instead of 4 stars. Service was friendly and attentive and he was sporting a pretty impressive pipes/horseshoe mustache that complimented the tastefully done western decor. The dining room and bathrooms were very clean.

Been here a few times. Mostly for breakfast, or breakfast foods (I work nights). Food is good, service is very good. Omelets are the best thing I've had on the menu, and nothing is bad or meh. There has only ever been one waitress on duty when I have been in there, so it may get a tad slow when busy. I personally have never had that issue. They are open 5am-10pm not 5pm-10pm which is what Yelp has listed.

We have stopped here for breakfast on our way home from the Sturgis Rally back in 2010 as well as this past Sunday. We decided to stop here again because we liked the food and service in 2010. This time we had friends traveling with us. When we arrived, the parking lot was packed with locals in cars and trucks, as well as fellow bikers heading south. There were even people sitting outside, so I thought there would be a wait. We were seated quickly, and the waitress too our orders without much of a wait. The food took a little bit of time, but with the amount of patrons, it wasn't unexpected. Still within a reasonable amount of time. Just like in 2010, the food was good and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. they even filled up our water bottles as we were leaving to head south.

This was a nice little cafe. The service was great. They have Rocky Mountain Oysters and gizzards on the menu which was awesome. Great prices too.

Found this place on our way through. Had little expectations walking in and was pleasantly surprised. Fried chicken was good, recommended the chicken BLT and would suggest it. Hash browns are unbeatable. Service and atmosphere is nice. Definitely get the pie, it is out of this world.

We were on a road trip to the Black Hills and decided to stop for lunch. The place is dark, only had windows on one side. I ordered the French Dip, and wife a hamburger. It was the 4th, so I will cut them a little slack. After about 30 minutes, several tables around us who came in after we did got their meals (seems if you're a local you get served quicker). My wife asked where was our meal. "We are swamped and getting another cook" was the response she got. No apology was offered. About 35-40 minutes we got our food. My French Dip was the worse I had ever had, roast beef was brownish grey, au jus was equally as bad. Wife hamburger was average. We will never go back!

had their lunch buffet the price and value is unbeatable. roast beef is really good. I like the sweet salad in the salad bar (not sure the name of it) the soup is very good too. great rest stop from Cheyenne to Mt. rush

I'd go there again, though it wasn't real memorable. Atmosphere was was you would expect in a middle-America out of the way diner.

The food here was pretty good. I got a Philly which was great, the kids pancakes were just ok. Great service and a nice atmosphere.

Well what a nice surprise in a nice little town. The night we ate there, the menu featured oriental orange chicken and rocky mountain oysters. You can't get more variety that that! The service was friendly and the food just fine. May, 2013: We revisited here on our way from Custer, SD to home, this time at brunch-time (no problem getting breakfast at noon!). The service slow; one solo waitress handling the crowd. But she kept her cool, and we did too. The omelette was yummy, the hashbrowns best ever, traveling-guy had a club sandwich that suited him fine. I remain a fan!

Nice comfy atmosphere, and the server was very kind and friendly. Ordered the steak, which was cheap, but tasted sort of bland and not well cooked. Overall, OK food for a bargain price.

We were just driving through Lusk looking for a place to eat. Happened upon this place by chance. I ordered the best chicken bacon sandwich ever! I didn't know how good and thick bacon could be till here. I must have lived a non-priviledged life before all this. Service was great. We had some tasty fries too. The menu was breakfast all day and hamburgers & sandwiches. I didn't really pay attention to what kinds of steaks they had since we were there for lunch.
