I wasn't so thrilled with Nani's. We were seated right away, but our waiter took forever to take our order. He was also extremely phony that it was scary. Our food finally came and they gave my sister the wrong pasta. I ordered penne with meat sauce(ragu). Do not order this unless you like chicken soup. It didn't look like chicken soup, but tasted exactly like it. Why call it meat sauce when you are adding chicken, vegetables, and maybe some chicken brouth? Oh and how can I forget the extremely overpriced menu?? The avg pasta dish is $26. Besides their faults, we sat next to a couple who discussed sex for a full hour. I watched a group of people complain and walk out. Pretty comical..

Nani's was our italian food destination while we were in Jackson, Wyoming on vacation. The food is yummy (especially the bread), the staff is friendly and accommodating. My husband ended up not being able to find much on the menu due to his allergies to wine, mushrooms, and old cheeses (basically everything delicious about Italian food), and I had a vegitable & bean tuscan style soup and a salad. The portions were generous, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. This is a solid 4 star place.

This is an excellent authentic Italian restaurant where all the sauces and dishes are made as ordered. While their portions are a little small and pricey, their homemade pasta dishes are excellent. The staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. A great place to go with family or friends. We had a large party of 8 when we went and the food came out promptly and at the same time. We ordered several wonderful appetizers. My favorites were the Bruchetta and the Caprese salad which was made with fresh (homemade I think) mozzarella. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The most overpriced Italian restaurant in Jackson. The food is only OK and I can get this type Italian food in expensive Santa Monica, CA for half the price. If you are dining by yourself, they are quite rude as I don't think they want to waste a table for just one. Go to the Calico, a much better and cheaper restaurant.

I ordered my food to go but the place is really cute. Candles, dim lighting. Staff are dressed nice. I thought price is little pricey... I had cream based fettuccine with hint of orange. Interesting taste. Around $20+ (mushrooms & pine nuts) extra for homemade pasta. Mixed salad that was bit salty. But great service

I was in Jackson for a night by myself and went to Nani's to carb up before a big ski day. I chose Nani's because there's a Nanni's in NYC that I love. I sat at the bar and quickly realized that I had stumbled upon the neighborhood Italian restaurant, meaning non-tourist trap. Everyone seemed to know each other and there was a great, friendly vibe. The food was delicious (although the pasta was a bit more al dente than I prefer it, personally), the wine was lovely, and I just really enjoyed myself, despite being alone. Jackson is awesome, so I know I'll be coming back - and Nani's is at the top of my list for dining out. I sat at the bar

Where's the flavor? 24 dollars for a plate of pasta with Ragu sauce. I ordered the Bolognese and was very disappointed. There may have been one chunk of meat in there but I'm not too sure.

Good things: the foccacia (though I had to ask for bread), the gnocci, the fresh pasta noodle of the day. Bad things: the hostess giving you the wrong menu (seasonal menu) and you ordering a bunch of things that come out completely different because the kitchen is operating off a different menu. The service (young guy who didn't give a crap about us or the food the place serves...everything we knew about Nani's we learned on Yelp). Having to ask for bread. The prices (way overpriced). Our entrees were good but I wouldn't go back. For how not busy the place was, our service should have been a lot better.

Speck and Amatriciana was our order. We swapped plates half way through. Devine! As you can see by the pictures we finished before we thought about pictures. The Amatriciana has a slight spice but perfect, no heartburn. Speck was creamy with prociutto, ask for fresh fettuccini with this dish. Decent wines offered. The bottle of Cab we chose was a nice addition. We had room for desserts and cappuccino's because we only had asparagus with dinner. Bill was only $113 before tip.

Great food, great atmosphere. The wait staff was great. The Alfredo was kind of bland and tasteless, but the lasagna was good. Overall pretty great Italian food!

We had a poor experience. Our waiter had a sour attitude. When asked about an item that was on the menu. He responded "its on the menu". Then when our check came the 20% gratuity was already added to the bill. He told us when you have two couples and there's two checks that's what they do! Mark was not a good waiter. The food was decent.

Literally the BEST lasagne I've ever had in my life!! Friendly attentive staff and great atmosphere! I highly recommend this place!

Super-fresh, tasty, delicious authentic Italian food. Fine home made pasta, fantastic pasta sauces, especially their "d'Amatriciano" spaghetti sauce, Pomodoro (tomato & garlic) spaghetti sauce, fantastic, flavorful Lasagna. Nice atmosphere, great service, excellent management. My Go-To place for over 20 years in Jackson, for Take-Out or dine-in.

Like most restaurants in Jackson, Nani's is a bit pricey, but the food is great. I ordered the norcina and opted for the extra $3 to get handmade fresca pasta which was delicious. I was still hungry afterward so we ordered the Teton tiramisu which is easily shared between 2 people, possibly even 3 or 4. I found the tiramisu somewhat bland and was not too impressed. Overall great Italian main dishes, but not the best you will ever have.

Excellent food & service. The only downside was that they did not have a very extensive wine list at all.

Slow and not good we had seven in our group on a Sunday night. We had reservations at 7 We got there about 6:45 they were able to seat us. The place was not busy. We ordered our drinks they came out with the bread. We ordered about 7. We waited for an hour. At 7:45 we asked our waiter the at ETA on the food. They brought out food in one and two plates At a time. The food was awful. It had no flavor and the pasta was over cooked. When the waiter asked how it was, we let him know it wasn't that great. He said he was sorry and couldn't do anything about comping part of our check. They also brought the check and over charged us. The manager never came out to apologize or offer anything. So I would not recommend this place. It was expensive for a sub par meal. Won't be back.

This sadly, was one of the worst meals i have ever had. I lived in Italy for a while but i'm not overly particular about italian food, i mean its not that hard to have good cheese and pasta... I wouldve sent my meal back but we were with friends and they choose the place so i didn't want to make them feel bad, but my meal had absolutely NO flavor. There were pieces of shrimp shell with in every bite. It was in a watery sauce but was supposed to come in mascarpone. It was terrible! I asked my husband about his meal right after we left and he said his was void of flavor as well despite it being sausage.

We/ve loved Nani's for years, and I really appreciate their updated, modern menu--though they still have all the old favorites.

We have eaten at Nani's many many times over the years. But, not again. And unfortunately the owners attitude and condescending behavior is what will keep us from going back, not the food or service. We made a reservation on a Sat night, at 6 pm and when we arrived there were 6-7 tables occupied inside. The hostess, owner, told us it would be a few minutes while they prepared our table for two. Then she walked outside to talk to other customers. A few minutes passed and she returned and I asked if we could sit at another table (the restaurant was essentially 80% empty), she gave us a disgusting look and in her condescending voice repeated, "we are getting your table ready". My wife and I actually started laughing, because we couldn't believe her behavior. It was so ridiculous that we were WAITING for a table. After about 5-7 minutes we were sat and the dinner was fine. 20 minutes or so later a couple came into the restaurant and the owner sat them 2 tables over from us, at a 2-top, and told them that she had saved her "favorite" table for them. The reason for this YELP is that this owner needs an attitude adjustment. The success of any business has to start from the top-down. If you read other bad YELP ratings for Nani's you will see bad owner reviews. As a business owner for over 30 years myself, I cannot understand how an owner of a business can behave this way. Probably because no one holds her accountable.

We had the most amazing dinner. Our server Laura was enthusiastic and most helpful. I had the gnocchi with truffle sauce and mushrooms. I wanted to say that first because it was the most wonderful thing I have put in my mouth in a very long time. We both had different salads. Very good. We also had the Fungi appetizer also delicious. My husband had Chicken Parmesan he was very pleased with it( large portion). We were both stuffed but we had to try the Teton Tiramisu and it did not disappoint us. Thanks for a great dinner. I forgot to mention that I loved the look of the restaurant. It was warm, inviting and comfortable.

Always liked this restaurant, then they recently changed the menu. Tried 4 different entrées. Nothing spectacular and kind of bland. Surprised as the last few months this place had been killing it, but the menu changes were hard to adjust to. It does have promise, and maybe we all ordered the wrong things. Anyway, was just disappointed based of the previous experiences ice had there

Pleasant experience. Started with the cheese sampler, bib lettuce salad. Next were the Salsicce, which was excellent, and the Pesce, which was also excellent. Cons: POS system was down, so there were server delays. Also, server forgot a few items we had asked for, as well as short pours on wine.

Just finishing eating at this establishment. I would not recommend it to anybody. Same of us in the party needed gluten free and had some questions about the menu. Our waiter was extremely rude and was very short on any answers and could not recommend anything to help. I guess you don't have to be nice when they automatically add 20% gratuity to your check for a party of 6 ( including 2 children). He was very non accommodating. The food was horrible with zero flavor and very expensive for what you got. I could open a jar of Ragu and get more flavor then we had with our meals. They say everything is homemade but I am pretty sure it came out if a box. Save your money and choose another establishment in Jackson. You will be happy you did.

Might even go up to 4-1/2 stars if that were a choice. Had the homemade pasta with ragu, and it was truly outstanding. Lovely atmosphere. Would definitely return.

Nani's is insulting on many levels. In fact it is the one place in Jackson that I've walked out of (then still had to reimburse friends for an outstandingly large sum). In reality, Jackson doesn't have a good Italian restaurant (although you could argue for Osteria in Teton Village). Eat Italian in your hometown. The pastas (very basic sauces) start around $20-24, but that's for boxed Barilla pasta. So of course you opt for fresh pasta for ~$6 more. Or you can have the multi-grain boxed Barilla for an extra few dollars...yes the same thing that's onsale at your grocery store for $1.49 a box. Then your $28-32 bowl of pasta (for no meat or seafood, just sauce, no salad and some cold bread) comes out and is far smaller than my relatively small girl fist. Picture jaw dropping here. I regularly eat in major metro areas, including Lupa in NYC, A-16 in SF. Those new Italian icons are far less expensive and a million billion times better than Nani's to give you city dwellers some perspective. And the service, don't even get me started. It's insulting. It's rude. You ask a question and they tell you that you can leave. AND that's as a table of locals. I can't imagine how they'd treat a tourist.

Cute, unpretentious little italian restaurant just off of the main drag. We had good food, good wine, and very friendly service. Would definitely go back when I pass through Jackson again.

We went once when we first moved here 5 years ago. The food was good but the portion size and price has stopped us from returning.

I am sorry, I know better. We were in the middle of the off season and the lack of open restarants aswell as the 2 for 1 special at nannis I aggreed to try it again ( mistake). We sat down and ordered a bottle of wine, and waited. When our server came by we wanted to ask her about the menu, she had no time for our questions and told us so. So we waited for the wine.... some more. After no wine for close to 20 min we figured we could have overpriced pasta and crappy service another time. We just walked over to the blue lion and had the lamb.

Yes it's expensive, but just order carefully people. Ask for the only baked homemade pasta dish. They only have one. Top ten dish this year people.....

I'm Sorry I first have to add that, I am Italian and fine Italian food is not spaghetti and meatballs or lasagna. The chef is great, the pasta dishes have nice layers of Tuscan flavors layered to perfection. If you are unsure what to order just ask the waitress and she will explain each dish. the bartender will come to your table and recommend a good wine. The atmosphere is warm and rustic, The service is great. A few things that lost them 5 stars no salad with main dish, No Romano OR Parmesan cheese at table took waitress a while to bring after requesting.

During the off season Nani's has 2 for 1 specials on both drinks and dinner. Additionally, they have happy hour 2 for 1 every night on drinks even during the peak seasons. Their fare changes seasonally and everyone who works there is friendly and professional. We ordered the most amazing creamy fig pasta that I will definitely be back for again.

I believe a lot of reviews are underrating this great restaurant. We have traveled a lot in Tuscany, and this restaurant re-creates the warm family feel as well as the great food we've experienced there. certainly, they have pasta, like homemade gnocchi with A choice of five or six different toppings. For starters, we had a mixed plate of prosciutto and salami with three cheeses -Ricotta with honey, buffalo mozzarella, and the Buratta was out of this world. The roast lamb shank had a rich dark sauce and was so tender you could eat it with a spoon. A great selection of Italian desserts, but the Piece de resistance was the huge tiramisu with sweet cake designed to look like the Grand Teton the Middle Teton and the South Teton. Photo attached. Eat here and enjoy!

  • Alysha M.

Great atmosphere and some real authentic Italian food, including my favorite - homemade gnocci. I love that they have a separate part of the menu for vegetarian food and another for "Italian American" favorites like Fettucini Alfredo. Ricotta with truffle honey and walnuts was great!

Were we there on an off night? Nani's has been a must-go for us for years, back to when they had their dual menus (standard and seasonal), but on this particular visit, I was underwhelmed. First, they didn't honor the Yelp check in offer of a gratis glass of wine. Then, the bread was stale. The appetizer, some kind of saffron ball (2 pcs), was really heavily flavored with saffron. The minestrone soup I ordered had no tomato in it; maybe that's the new trend, but it was terribly bland. Ditto the pasta pomodoro with a side of meatballs. Giant got Pomodoro as well with a side of sausage that was pretty spicy and he seemed to enjoy it. Bottom line: $103 before tip for two glasses of wine, an app, two salad/soup, and two bowls of pasta. Really disappointed....likely the end of the road for me.

Unpretentious and delicious Italian food at reasonable prices. Comfortable and casual ambiance. Professional service. A chef who cares about his craft and it shows in what is presented on the plate. Were we in Jackson again, we'd happily go back to Nani's. That's the bottom line. Details follow for those who find them interesting. But first with a nod to John S who loved Nani's and said his wife is Italian and an excellent cook, I'll also offer up that my husband is of Italian heritage, grew up with an Italian speaking grandmother in an Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn. Like John S's wife, my husband enjoyed Nani's. The food was, he said, just like that which might be served by his good cook uncles out of their home kitchens. My hubby's and my experience at Nani's was a happy one, like that had by John S his wife. LOCATION: A couple of blocks off Jackson's hectic downtown, this is a great location to get out of the chaos but be close to it at the same time. VIBE: Recently remodeled. Gone are the red and white checked tablecloths. In are wood tables and black chairs along with upholstered red banquette seating. Walls are parchment colored. Three seating areas: in the bar at the high perch stools or at standard height tables. (Woohoo for the latter being available in the bar.) In the dining room. On the deck in the front. Nice jazz-ish music mix at subtle enough level to invite conversation and not compete with it. MENU / FOOD / VALUE: On the front of the double sided menu you'll find openers and small plates that can be easily shared. From items like bruschetta to focaccia flatbreads to clams or mussels to an assortment of salads to salumi or cheese plates. On the back side you'll find an assortment of pastas to entrees that include things like bistecca, eggplant, risotto, fish and rack of lamb. But to start, you will be presented with a basket of two kinds of housemade bread. The bread is wonderful and both olive oil and balsamic vinegar are on the table to use with it if you like. We grazed our way through several items and each one was delicious. For $73 for two people, including two glasses of wine, we thought our meal was a great value as we enjoyed... ...Fresh chopped romaine salad with Gorgonzola dressing, walnuts and prosciutto (served on a nicely chilled plate). ...Zuppa vongole - plump, perfectly cooked steamed clams in a spicy red broth. ...Spaghetti Ametriciana - the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and that is a great starting point. Add to it a well seasoned tomato sauce with roasted onions and guanciale, this was delicious. ...Broccoli Rabe - sautéed with olive oil, red chili flakes and garlic. LIBATIONS: Full bar. We choose wine. A few by the glass offerings in both red and white. Kudos for offering prosecco by the glass even if it is Zardetto's.. Glass prices range roughly $7 - $11. Bottle list ranges from $27 for Eco Domani Merlot to $286 for a '99 Italian Barolo. Most bottle prices in $35 - $45 range. Not a great list. With so many good and affordable Italian and domestic wines available, the wine list might use a tune up. SERVICE: We sat at a table in the bar and the bartender was our server. He was adorable (I'm just sayin') and Italian with the most delicious accent. I digress. The service was top notch. He knew the menu and didn't miss a beat in the perfect timing of our courses to serve everything at the right time and temperature. CHEF: There has been a turnover in the last couple of years when the family member who headed the kitchen moved on to pursue opportunities outside the state. She still consults but the kitchen is now headed by Chef Daniel Luna. In a classic "don't you love it" success story, the Chef was working in construction just ten years ago when the downturn forced him to change career directions. He started in Nani's kitchen as a dishwasher and worked his way up under the previous chef's tutelage then attended culinary school. Now he turns out the rustic, simple, regional Italian dishes that have been Nani's long time focus. Locals long loyal to Nani's with whom we spoke say the good food has gotten even better with Chef Luna's presence. THIS N THAT: 1) MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT: given over 20 years of success in Jackson and the locals' loyalty. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: is good here with main entry on the side of the building accessible by ramped walkway, level in and throughout, lots of standard table height seating. 3) AUDIENCE: seems as if this would be equally good for families, couples, singles or groups across all ages. On the night we dined, the population skewed older, 45 plus, with only one family and a couple of 30 something couples seated for the two hours we were there. 4) LOOK UP: because the wood ceilings are both flat and barrel shaped here and there. Adds to the refined rustic ambiance. 5) NO TV: thank goodness.

We had dinner here on a Sunday evening. They had the other half side closed, but the side that was open got full pretty quickly, and they were clearly understaffed. So things weren't quite seamless, but the food wasn't bad, if only over salted. They had house-made pasta and tell you that it can replace other regular pastas on the menu, which is nice. Our waiter was a young guy and didn't seem to know italian food (or how to pronounce "bruschetta") or wine. Wine list was ok, but I was unhappy the pour was very SKIMPY for the price, so we didn't order the seconds and decided to go to another bar instead. Food was pretty decent, if not great. (We live in NYC, so we're hard to impress, sorry.)

Nani's will affectionately be known as that "Pasta Restaurant". It truly is THAT pasta restaurant. After a slight wait at the Host stand, we were sat. Our server was super friendly and went above and beyond to tell is her recommendations and thoughts on everything -- from food in Jackson to her own life when we asked questions and all we could have asked or wanted to know. The food itself was A-MAZING. Be sure to get the fresh options-- the house made fettuccini or the gnocchi. I have never ever had such wonderful gnocchi. And I went to the Culinary Institute of America and worked in our Italian restaurant. In addition to the food -- the wine list is expansive and very nice for the size restaurant. The panna cotta was perfectly smooth and the right size. Delicious. It was truly a gem and I wish wish wish this restaurant was in Denver.

Food was extremely authentic. The burrata and caprese were excellent. The $34 rib eye was very tasty but a little fatty. However the smashed potatoes were amazing. The bread that comes out for the table was also yummy. The spaghetti and meatballs were very savory and filling. All in all a great dinner experience. Their house wine was a great surprise as well.

One of the best eggplant parmigiana dishes I've ever enjoyed. Delicate yet saucy, flavorful and light, almost ethereal in texture. The pasta entre Liparota, with pork and beef was excellent and the server was knowledgeable, attentive, but not obtrusive. I am looking forward to my next visit already.

We had salad, pasta and sorbet; all were wonderful! Home made sausage with fresh pasta was the highlight for me, but the spaghetti and meatballs which my wife and daughter had were delicious too ("light and fluffy meatballs..."). My daughter scored a home run with raspberry and blueberry sorbet and my wife was bowled over by the affogato (customized to be just the way she likes it). If you're in Jackson, Nani's should be your first choice for Italian food.

Great fresh pasta dishes and a wonderful staff! Nani's was highly recommended by a friend in Driggs, ID and we were not let-down. I truly enjoyed every bite of my homestyle lasagna and our waitress, Heather, was quite personable and helped us with our decisions. I'd come back anytime!

The menus is very limited I ordered penne pasta with eggplant and other herbs and greenery, What I received was slightly overlooked pasta with heavily overburdened with Parmesan cheese .. I could hardly identify tiny speckles of dark matter (I suspect this was aforementioned eggplant) Staff is extremely friendly and competent .. But let's face it .. I did not come there to be treated nice

Our favorite dining experience during a week in the Jackson area. Resort town restaurants are often either high-volume crowd-pleasers with uninspired menu choices or overpriced deluxe establishments. Nani's has a serene, sophisticated ambience and fresh, creative dishes that make it feel like a good neighborhood restaurant in a major gourmet center like SF or NY. Service was cheerful and prompt. Standout dishes included the Sicilian pesto spaghetti and norcina (spicy sausage) pasta. Look forward to visiting again.

We had good service, and loved the patio. We ordered the anti pasto miso and a salad which were good and the bread they give you. Now to the the part that was not so good, we ordered the pasta bolognese, it lacked a lot of flavor, so we told the waiter. He brought us more red sauce which is what we asked for and red peppers, none of this helped this dish. This is suppose to be a popular dish, I just don' t see how.

We were in the mood for something different and were presently surprised by the quality and taste of our meals. I did not expect Italian food this good in Jackson WY. We shared a grilled veggie platter that tasted very good. The grilled veggie seasoning added to the taste of the veggies perfectly. This serving was a little small. The main courses were large servings. My wife had a Chicken parmigiana dish with spaghetti. The sauce on the spaghetti was much better than your average red sauce. The chicken was tender and cooked perfectly. I had the "liparota" dish. It had - tomato, pancetta, eggplant, herbs, pine nuts & parmigiana reggiano, with handmade pasta. It was excellent. The pasta was in soupy type of sauce with all of the other ingredients. It was delicious. It was lick the bowl good! We both had leftovers. Service was good. The full bar and wine list was good.

Nani's is amazing Italian food! 5 teammates and I from the 4K for Cancer stayed with Erin Neary, the general manager of Nani's while we were biking through Jackson. She generously brought us to the restaurant and we had the best meal of the trip. I had the melone pasta and I was a little skeptical of melon being in pasta, but it was incredible. I am Sicilian so you can take my word for it. All of the pasta dishes my group tried were great and all of the staff was so nice and welcoming. We also had a selection of appetizers and then the tiramisu for dessert, which was gone in about 2 minutes. I will be back if I'm ever in Jackson again. Thank you Nani's!! :)

This is a real gem in Jackson. We were not rushed, Aaron, our waiter was there but not intrusive. The salad was perfect - crisp fresh lettuce - the dressing just right. The only Italian wine by the glass was a very light Chianti - just passable. But the mains were out of this world. The spaghetti was fresh taglioni with a forceful sauce and meatballs as light and tasty as I can remember. But my Chicken Parm was truly memorable - major boned, moist, provolone cheese to add tang - perfect! Take you time. And then desert - don't miss Teton Tiramisu!

1st time: me: I'll try the pasta server: would you like to upgrade to house made pasta for 4 dollars more? me: whats the difference? server: its less chewey me: so the regular pasta is chewy? server: yes, its out of a box me: OK. dont really understand how a pasta house can have self proclaimed chewy boxed pasta. the house made pasta was terrible, drenched in sauce. 2nd and last timwe were with a large group, a friend sent back a steak. owner/manager came over to let us know it wouldnt be taken off the check and "she was aware of what we were up to." NEVER AGAIN!!!!

I came here and sat on the patio for a romantic evening with my boyfriend. I've lived in Jackson for three years and always passed by this place... I've been missing out! The menu and fresh house made pasta are outstanding, as well as the service! Aaron K. was our server and a complete gentleman. Attentive, but not in your face. I had the fichi pasta (figs and Parmesan cream) which was fabulous. Oh yeah, and house made gelato for dessert. Perfecto!

We had a great meal and really enjoyed the homemade pasta. We couldn't decide which of our two dishes was better so we kept swapping back and forth. Atmosphere is cozy, a nice experience across the board.

A delight! A treasure! A truly fabulous night. Where do we begin? An awesome wine list and an excellent set of appetizers. We were stuffed satisfied and happy before we even got to the salad, but we soldiered on. The entrees were amazing we sampled everything from pasta to fish and loved everything. The tastes were creative and challenging and kept us guessing, who would have thought cantaloupe in a pasta sauce could be so delectable? We finished strong with some outrageous deserts, including a truly very special tiramisu with the final shaping of the tetons peaks... oh so good. We sat on the deck, it couldn't have been a more fabulous evening with excellent service and advice. Our teen agers who are not very experimental tried dishes with eggplant in them and loved them, go figure... I am afraid other reviewers on yelp were looking for the same standard Italian they have back home, an expensive version of Olive Garden with the traditional dishes, this is too special, too amazing to miss. For an excellent evening, ambiance and very special taste, you cannot go wrong here.

Best Italian in Jackson Hole - fresh pastas and great wine selection. Look for the Tourist Dinner, good value, choice of three items: wine. salad, dinner selection under $20, or dessert for $25 Need reservations

Ezekial is your best waiter. Love the bar as a local, easy to be as versus the square.

My wife ( who is Italian and an excellent cook ) had dinner at Nani's a week ago when we were on vacation. What a pleasant surprise as the food there is to die for ! Authentic Italian food - I had the home made sausage pasta that was really good. Great inviting relaxing atmospher and really friendly staff. Ate there on a Tuesday night and the place was packed - this was not during peak season. Most of the patrons were local - which really says something about the food and staff. I highly recommend this authentic Italian restaurant.

It was inside a cute house with patio seating, red table cloth and a big selection of menu including some uncommon pasta choice. We ate there two nights since there wasn't any problem finding pasta we liked. The price was at SF level (expensive IMO if you chose fresh made pasta, i.e. ~$30 for a plate). They had some special pasta, e.g. Sardinian pasta and pistachio and orange sauce. Their signature dessert was the Grand Teton version of Tiramisu (huge!). But service was extremely slow, 10 minutes for bringing the bread, another 30 minutes for the food and 30 minutes for the check in the end. Italian tourists dined here too. So the food should be authenticated without question. A good place to eat if you're looking for something else other than meat entrees.

Wonderful meal. Great service. Recommend the fig bruschetta and mozzarella plate! Entrees and desserts were great as well. Very kind wait staff and they were very accepting of our infant joining us.

aah, don't know where to begin but I will say this was a disappointment. I called ahead being we were having a family reunion in Jackson hole and it was my day to pick the restaurant, with so many "western themed" places I decided to play it safe with pasta so the kids would like it too. Unfortunately I don't think the kids ate anything but dessert. We had to feed them when we got back to the lodge. No consistency with the pasta, mine was not cooked enough, someone elses was cooked too much. My pasta (a seafood alfredo) was flavorless as was my husband's linguine, I've had much better from Red Robin or even Stouffers. (Although 2 people ordered the swordfish and said it was outstanding) Service was terrible, and I mean terrible, the waiter was downright rude and condescending, I don't know what his deal was. I would have pulled the manager over (as I should have) but I didn't want to cause a scene on my in-laws anniversary. My mother-in-law wouldn't say anything, just kept shaking her head and tried to hurry things along, unfortunately she was also the one forking over a huge amount of dough for this nightmare dining experience. (I felt like I had to keep apologing to her being I was the one who picked this restaurant, ugh) As I said we called ahead, 2 weeks in advance to see if they could accomodate a group of 15 that included children (very well behaved btw) and they said they could, and would have a "private" room available for us. Great! I thought, perfect, we're set.! Well that "private" room was a breezeway off the kitchen that waitstaff were running in and out of to get to the outside dining area, it was constant, and very disruptive, then they had the nerve to act as if we were imposing on them. ?? Exaggerated sarcastic looks and sighs every time they had to walk around our table. ...Really?? We didn't ask to be seated here... The first clue should have been the couple complaining when they left the restaurant on how awful the service was. Oh, and did I mention it took over an hour to get our food? The next day, half our family went horseback riding and the guide knew the owners and said he's always hearing complaints about it and was genuinely surprised they were still in business. go figure.. Would have been nice to hear that little tidbit the day before. It takes a lot for me to give a bad review like this, but believe me it is well deserved, (if only our family could have the time and money back...) I'd say just about anywhere else would be a better option.

This place is an EXCELLENT Italian restaurant. We were visiting town and asked for a recommendation and were truly surprised by the quality. The menu items were definitely not typical Italian-American fare you find in every other restaurant. The menu is very authentic Italian and we were all very impressed by our meals. Even the bread was homemade and excellent. Yes, this place is on the pricey side, but well worth every penny.

I took the advice of my fellow Yelpers and gave this place I try. I sat at the bar. The bartender (who doubled as my server) was a great guy and was Johnny-on-it as far as service was concerned. He gave me some menu recommendations. The Insalate Mista was served at the perfect temperature and was damn tasty. I got the 1/2 order of a pasta special--linguine tossed with pecorino, olive oil and fresh black pepper. Wow, it was good. They have a pretty good wine list, too. The bartender even game me some recommendations on where to watch the Steelers game. Great place.

Where do you go in Jackson when you've a wicked craving for some seriously good pasta? Nani's has some of the best pasta I've had in some time - perfect al dente penne with fresh sausage and panchetta. They've available summertime dining al fresco that makes the dining experience that much more enjoyable coupled with a nice wine (very reasonable priced). My friends and I also got to try out an interesting number for our appetizer - cantaloupe wrapped prosciutto. Weird but oh so delicious. This little restaurant easily gives any of Chicago's Italian eateries a run for the money.

On our way to Yellowstone this week..we decided to say over night and eat two meals in Jackson Hole. While Jackson Hole is a very pretty place and certainly had lots of ways to spend lots of money, I get the feeling that the locals are probably very sorry their beloved town has been turned into a yuppy ski resort. The accommodations and eaterys are all pretty much off the top expensive....which is fine...if only they delivered on the goods. After researching the www for a place to eat, we dropped our daughter off at the local high school rodeo...where indeed she had a blast...and made our way to Nani's. They pride themselves on traditional family style homemade pasta creations. I will start by saying this...I doubt anyone there has ever spent any serious time in Italy. We were able to eat al fresco...my personal favorite on a warm Summer night...the ambience was ever so inviting...although no one ever lit our candles! We were introduced to the experience by a nice waiter who explained profusely the idea of homemade Italian style dinning. Very good. I'm happy....but I have some expectations of homemade food...like freshly made pasta and mozzarella...maybe some sausage and a few desserts that start with the letter "C" like...Cassatta, Pana Cotta,or a little Cannoli. After looking over the menu...I ask which pasta dish was homemade...well...here's the rub...one! Oh then we will have that as a starter, followed by some swordfish (it had to be previously frozen...we're in Wyoming for gosh sake!) Followed by a salad after the main, which was very confusing to our waiter but he complied without griping. Dinner courses started arriving with a great cheese plate first (?)...our favorite part of the dinner. Then came our not homemade al dente pasta...oops...I mean under cooked boxed semolina flour pasta...and I know what I'm talking about here. Nothing remotely homemade about it. The swordfish (not sustainable but the only fish on the menu) was very tasty. We skipped dessert and went for after dinner drinks, probably a good choice as Nani seems to have a problem with the meaning of homemade. The good news...I must say...they had a wonderful selection of Italian wines! So you be the judge. Good wine! Good cheese! Boxed uncooked pasta. Good service. Nice atmosphere. Pricy...but not too many other places to choose from while in Jackson Hole.

The food is surprisingly good, great combinations. Our server got our orders mixed up, and blamed it on us, which was kind of annoying. But the food is great, would definitely go back. And the portions are huge, a half will do for someone that isn't STARVING.

For me, a two star review means a restaurant that I would only go back to if there were no other options. The food at Nani's is decidedly mediocre and bland. Not bad, just not good either. Normally, this would garner 3 stars based on food. The high prices for mediocre food costs the extra star. Pasta was clearly dry boxed stuff. It was cooked al dente, but in the way that domestic boxed pasta comes out when you cook it al dente - not even like decent imported dry pasta. When I'm paying nearly $20 for linguine with meat sauce, poor ingredients are inexcusable, and that was the case here. Bread is also subpar and service so-so. Skip it.

Visited with my wife in August and had an excellent experience. The food and service were both great. I got the bolognase and its one of the best I've ever had. My wife got the arrostita and we've never had anything like it, it was amazing. We're both hardcore Italian and do our own home cooking and we really loved this place.

Our party of 5 made reservations for 6pm. Our server took our order soon thereafter. We originally selected the mini eggplant Parmesan to share but the server advised that it is one mini appetizer, and there would not be enough. He recommended the mushroom appetizer, so we ordered that instead. One hour later, we finally received the appetizer(s). The server obviously misunderstood we only order the mushroom appetizer and brought both. Since we already waited one hour, we ate both anyway. Both appetizers were good but the mushroom appetizer was so much better than the eggplant Parmesan. The server apologized for the long wait and said other servers had been swiping our appetizers from the kitchen. You would think the tickets had our table number on? He assured us our dinners would be out promptly. We all ordered pasta dishes. The homemade sausage with red peppers and tomatoes over penne was the best of the 5, nothing spectacular, and 2 of us did NOT like our meal. I had the rotolo for $25, which is a stuffed rolled pasta with ground veal, greens, with pecorino and a beef broth. After one hour, my meal was obviously sitting under a heat lamp. The pasta was CRUNCHY on top, and my plate was so hot, we couldn't touch it. The greens were overly bitter, coupled with complete lack of flavor anywhere else. I ate 1 of the 4 pasta rolls and could not tolerate that overpowering bitterness anymore. Nobody else liked it either. Had the server come back to our table before everyone finished eating, I would have told him I wanted something else! My daughter ordered noci with homemade pasta and Alfredo. The dish had kale and pine nuts in the sauce which she didn't like, and the pasta tasted more like egg noodles. Another bust. We did not stay for dessert! The restaurant was packed and it is has nice atmosphere but I would not recommend Nani's with so many other options in this beautiful and expensive town.

Where's the flavor? 24 dollars for a plate of pasta with Ragu sauce. I ordered the Bolognese and was very disappointed. There may have been one chunk of meat in there but I'm not too sure.

Visited with my wife in August and had an excellent experience. The food and service were both great. I got the bolognase and its one of the best I've ever had. My wife got the arrostita and we've never had anything like it, it was amazing. We're both hardcore Italian and do our own home cooking and we really loved this place.

Perfecto!

A delight!

Skip it.

aah, don't know where to begin but I will say this was a disappointment.

Where's the flavor? 24 dollars for a plate of pasta with Ragu sauce. I ordered the Bolognese and was very disappointed. There may have been one chunk of meat in there but I'm not too sure.

Perfecto!

A delight!

This is a solid 4 star place.

aah, don't know where to begin but I will say this was a disappointment.

Skip it.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
