Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Great new addition to Jackson. Had the el pastor tacos with pineapple salsa. Great flab its but zero heat. The only heat from the dish was from slice jalapeño served on the side. My wife had shrimp and avocado tacos and again the favors were fest but missing heat. Would love to see traditional Mexican spicy flavored added to the dishes.

One of the best mexican places we have been in years! This place really is good, from the food, to the bar, to the help. We stopped here for a late lunch with friends while traveling in town. The host really was so nice and hooked us up with a really nice table outside when he knew we wanted to sit in the sun. The waitress was sweet and was very accommodating. The food was amazing!! We had the Quac and Jicama chips, chips and salas and then a few different taco dishes. One of our friends also had the Hevous Rancheros and he raved about it. We all had the black beans and rice and they were really good too. Over all, we had great time and the food was the best mexican in town... and thats after trying another local popular mexican place.

Enjoyed dinner outside on the patio during a vacation to Jackson. Cute location downtown, prompt service on the last day of August. Food was decent, but we give it a B. Grapefruit and avocado salad was excellent, spicy guacamole was great. Tacos barbacoa were flavorful but the tortillas were blah, and the dorado ceviche was more avocado than fish - skip this one. Drinks are delicious and imaginative. Marg of the day (always a solid choice per Yelp reviews) was peach mango, and we also tried grapefruit and the spicy marg. All three were great; balanced, sweet/salty, and full of flavor. The highlight of the evening was actually the live music - a local duo singing and playing acoustic and electric guitars - and the sunset visible from the front deck. Go get your drink on.

My family and I have been consistently impressed by the food in Jackson Hole...and being from Los Angeles, we were skeptical about how great this restaurant would be. But, we agreed that this was a solid 4-star dinner. We also agreed that the star of the meal was (oddly enough) the ELOTE! There was some originality on the menu, particularly in the drinks. Today's special margarita was a spicy blackberry margarita, and it was delicious! That jalapeño infused tequila is worth trying! It may have been spicier than the salsa we enjoyed with the housemade chips! We ordered the Grapefruit & Avocado Salad to start, which was really fresh tasting with a great balance of sweet, tart and bitter. We also tried the tortilla soup, which had a nice kick to it. For our main course, we ordered the Tostadas Barbacoa, Tacos de Carne Asada, and Tacos al Pastor (technically not dinner entrees). All choices were pretty solid, and none of us were disappointed. My mom said her Carne Asada was better than what she has had in LA...and we have eaten a lot of carne asada! I personally enjoyed the Tacos al Pastor, which isn't like what I've had in LA. The quality and texture of the pork, plus the addition of pineapple made it stand out. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and the food came out quickly. Portion sizes were reasonable and great for sharing. Great, creative margaritas! Why not 5 stars? The prices were a bit high for the food (drink prices were reasonable, in my opinion), and it was pretty noisy and hard to hear in the restaurant. But...Very solid experience!

This plc was disappointing, our food was not hot which was not acceptable as they were not busy at all. It seemed like it was warmed from earlier in the day or even the day prior. I wouldn't recommend, unless you interested in the drink menu, all the drinks were great!

My wife and I stopped in for a few drinks and nibblies after skiing. The chips, salsa, guac, were all very good. I had a few tequila sunrises(Salida Del Sol), which were delicious and spicy(just the way I like them). My wife had a few La Paloma margaritas, which have lime and grapefruit, as she makes something like it at our house. She loved them.
(5)Paul S.
Great atmosphere great tequila custom margaritas no problem. Had a duo playing that we great. Chips a little stale.

If you are getting ready to enjoy your Jackson Hole holiday make sure to bookmark this spot for a Margarita break, because it will be just the taste tease that will make your stay fun and memorable. I had an exceptional margarita here, the rotating Margarita of the Day using coconut and raspberry. The fruit compote used was obviously real, fresh fruit, not syrup, and the toasted coconut touch was masterful. I couldn't recommend indulging in their delicious margaritas more highly. The salsas served with the chips (not free by the way) were no slouchy blender mash-ups. You could taste the smoky and yet caramelized flavors in the chillies and tomatoes. It is the sign of authenticity in a chef to produce such a fine Mexican blend of tastes. I venture to say this salsa was on a par with, and even bested, Rick Bayless' salsas. We had two, a red which was milder, and a green which was spicier. This kitchen gets my kudos for such authentically smoky and layered salsas. The Tostadas Verduras we had seemed to me to be slightly small in quantity for the price. It would not have sufficed for a proper lunch, and I would have been dissatisfied at paying nearly $15 for it had I been really hungry. Fortunately we were just snacking. I would also knock this place slightly for their overworked waiter. Although he was charming and obviously trying hard, he seemed slightly overwhelmed, and that is not an impression you want to leave your customers with. When we walked in, it was a bit confusing where the host was and we had to be found a table by this overworked young waiter dude. Nice guy.

I am a Texas girl through and through so eating at a Mexican restaurant in WYOMING was a bit dicey. But...I'm gluten free and we were starving and running out of options. So we gave it a try. First of all - their wifi password was the best thing I've ever experienced. I didn't have phone data for almost all of my road trip, so wifi is truly truly required in my life. I won't post the password here, but it made my Texan heart happy. The food was outstanding. Bottled coke and pastor tacos and cold, delicious guacamole. It was the perfect fuel for our trek through Grand Teton shortly after.
(5)Obed C.
This is about as good as it gets in Jackson for mexican food. The chips and salsa are good, the guacamole is fresh and the tacos are pretty much what you would expect from a good mexican place. You have to try the corn its very good. The habanaero sauce is very spicy so you have to be careful when ordering. The michelada could have used a little more flavor but it worked. 2 things I didn't like: you cant mix and match tacos wtf! and they don't allow dogs on the patio! You have to tie them up outside :/
(4)Seth F.
Service was A+, wish I could say the same about the food. Typical overpriced gringo tacos in a hip douchy setting.. In a douchy town.
(2)Matt C.
Hatch is the best Contemporary Mexican in Jackson! We had our fill of chips and salsa (fresh) and the guacamole, which was awesome!!! Best service as well!!!
(5)Lexa O.
I went to Hatch last night on the recommendation of my sister. The food was great, I enjoyed the portion sizes, atmosphere, and Mexican coke, but the prices were pretty steep. For an appetizer, we got queso fundido with chorizo. It was a bit different than queso fundido I've had in the past but it was very good. At first, however, we honestly didn't think there was chorizo in it--it's a bit hidden in there. I really enjoyed the smaller portion sizes--it seemed small at first but I was stuffed after finishing my al pastor tacos. The tacos were great with pineapple, but I wish it had been a pineapple salsa so the tacos were slightly less dry. My mom also got the spicy margarita which she thought was awesome, if a bit small considering they were in old fashioned glasses. The atmosphere is also great--you're right off the square, the decor is a great mix of modern with concrete floors and metal light fixtures, but you still know you're in a town like Jackson. We liked sitting outside. However: the prices. For two margaritas ($11 each), queso fundido ($9 + $2 for chorizo), two tacos al pastor ($12 each), a Mexican coke ($3), and a diet coke ($2), our bill was about $66--for two people. Most people going out for Mexican are not looking to spend that much. During our dinner we saw a couple get up soon after being sat--obviously we don't know for sure that it was due to prices, but it is reasonable to assume they had an idea what the food options were going to be. Most margaritas in Jackson are about $9 or maybe even less (such as at Spur in the village). Bottom line: it's expensive for what you get.
(4)Brett M.
First place this is not Mexican. If you could ever consider it Mexican it would be some kind of fusion. The service was very good. And the food was very tasty, but u think this is a very trendy tourist trap you an tell this by the price of the food.
(3)Devon R.
Hatch was delicious and fun! Their menu was innovative and fresh and their drinks were yummy. We ordered the chips and guacamole, salmon and enchiladas verduras - all really good. During our stay in Jackson, we went back twice and got the exact same thing again. Our server, Katie, was helpful and efficient. Highly recommend this cool spot.
(5)Chad L.
Mexican food and Tequila bar in Jackson Hole! Restaurant was clean and well decorated and the staff was friendly. However........they were out of draft beer and the original Tequila I ordered was not available. Bummer. Food was way too expensive for Mexican food, but it was really good. Great location with outside seating and good atmosphere. Not sure I would come back, but who knows?
(3)Clayton C.
Bison Fajitas and Chile Relleno. Outstanding. Jalapeño margarita and the cinnamon margarita...killer.
(5)Sam G.
Stopped in for a meal, but the prices were a little too expensive. The owner talked with us for a bit and told us about the quality of ingredients: non-GMO, organic when possible, and no high fructose corn syrup in anything. We decided since he gave a care we would stick around for an appetizer. The guacamole and chips were delicious and the service was great as well. Would love to try to food but couldn't justify $22 for a single entree.
(5)Michele N.
The transformation from Mile High Pizza Pie to Hatch is phenomenal. You'd never believe you were in the same space. As beautiful of a job as they have done to rework the space into a very inviting and open restaurant and bar, with a great patio, the acoustics are deafening. They did tell us that they are in the process of addressing the extremely loud interior space. They offer a variety of tequila specialty drinks and margaritas. I chose the prickly pear margarita which was the perfect combination of sweet and spicy; I rarely have a second cocktail, but this demanded a repeat! Others had the traditional house margarita, señor pepino, la Paloma and all were good. We shared some appetizers: guacamole with jicama chips (which were advertised as homemade, but it was literally just sliced jicama) and a marinated squid special, which was delicious. I started my meal splitting the grapefruit and avocado salad, which was a refreshing salad and very much shareable in size. The server had recommended many of the appetizers for entrees, so I settled on the shrimp tacos. When they arrived it didn't look like enough for dinner, but it was plenty after enjoying the salad. My daughter ordered the tostadas Barbacoa, which was a huge appetizer and very tasty. Hubby ordered the Barbacoa enchiladas which was also a very big entree, and very good. Our son shared the carne asada which was brought out the first time completely overcooked. The server was nice enough about getting it taken back and cooked appropriately, but we were surprised that there was no sense of apology or concern as they were delivered their dinner after the entire party of 8 had finished their meals. We didn't need it, but we shared an order of churros for the table. I doubt they were made in house, there was nothing special about them, but the leche with chocolate for dipping made up for the basic churro. I'd like to order a cup of that to drink for dessert!

We planned on eating dinner here and their website said they were open until 11 pm. We showed up a little before 10 and the bartender said they were no longer seating for dinner. Their hours should clarify this... We ended up having to get fast food as most places in this area had already closed. Very disappointing and the bartender was pretty rude about it.
(1)Kristi D.
Had high hopes for great meal but it didn't deliver. This place is still working through some kinks, but it has potential. Staff works hard to do it all and to take care of customers. Drinks are great. The food just isn't there yet. Small portions for the price & missing flavor expected for these dishes. I'll give them another chance but hope the menu improves.

Hatch is a breath of fresh air in a town that has history in its bones! And when you pair great food and drinks with a lively atmosphere--the kind you come to expect in one of the world's best ski towns--you find yourself coming back here time and again. Mexican fare this far north can be a bit hard to nail, but Hatch Taqueria and Tequilas got it right... so right! The fresh margaritas were insanely good and paired well with the infamous carne asada entree. The space is perfect and we were further convinced when the decibel levels climbed and the people packed in that this is where we are going to be hanging out and gorging for a long time to come. Can not wait for the deck in the summer!
(5)Joey S.
I hate writing bad reviews....but I have to say that you should not waste your time. Expensive....very limited menu....slow service The only reason I gave it two stars was the drinks are good Only go with the idea of having chips and a drink Don't go with dinner in mind...it was so disappointing
(2)Andy O.
We had terrible customer service. I took awhile for the hostess to acknowledge me for our small group of three. The establishment seemed to be a little busy and when our waiter was busy another brought a drink from the bar for one of my party, I had asked him for more water at this time, and instead of simply bringing us water he went back to our waiter and told him we needed water. We waited for about five minutes just to have a waiter bring water. Then waited for 45 minutes and still no food. Food was brought out after I told them I no longer wanted food and just wanted ticket. Worst service ever!!!
(2)Brittany C.
Great food! Great people! The manager came up and spoke with us, very down to earth! The bartender was awesome, she had pigtails and dark red lipstick...super nice! Only thing is, the dessert could be better, carrot cake tres de leche. The appetizer= perfect and entree= perfect! Margaritas= Awesome!
(5)Tyler P.
I was here a few weeks back and really enjoyed it. Very cool vibe, great layout and good service. They had a lot of cool drinks coming from the bar, I really liked the spicy margarita. We split the chips and salsa as well as the enchiladas which were excellent. I will definitely be back.
(5)cohen l.
My wife and daughter ate at Hatch while on vacation. The service was great and our waitress gave us good advise about the area. The food was great. Even my daughter who doesn't usually like Mexican food liked it. I enjoyed the nachos which were not your usual beans and cheese. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the area.
(5)Mary D.
We've eaten here several times, probably 1/2 the time at lunch and 1/2 for dinner. We've always liked it. The food is fresh and the service has always been above average. The chef has even come out to speak with us on occasion. There is noise, but I think it's unfair to judge the place by the noise level. This is a bar/taqueria setting, not the library. It's fun, the decor is fun, the bar area is full of fun. The noise level has never bothered us, but maybe we're not there during peak noise levels? I think Hatch is a nice addition to what Jackson already has for mexican food, they just do it differently and it works.
(4)John D.
Went there tonight. Sat across the table from my wife and we could not hear each other the place was so noisy! Ordered chili rellenos. They were bland and tough. I do rellenos and they cost a lot less. The margaritas were excellent. The service was very good.
(1)Ryan H.
Good vibes, casual, social dining. Cheerful, engaging staff. Spicy margarita and nachos to start. Then any taco or enchiladas. Spent 6 nights in Jackson this winter on two different trips and ate here 3 times.
(5)Sandy C.
Bomb tacos, killer home-made margs, great service. Not very expensive either for a Jackson Restaurant.
(5)Charlie C.
its a good restaurant, just that acoustics of restaurant are very loud, but food is fantastic.
(4)Christopher P.
Excellent food and atmosphere. All drinks are tequila based. Highly recommended modern twist on Mexican food in a western town.
(5)Marc M.
Great ambiance, but a serious noise issue (if + 2 people). Food good to very good. Service OK. Drinks: pours = embarrassing poor.
