Both my husband and I live in the Tenderloin in San Francisco, surrounded by dozens (DOZENS!) of Thai places within 3 block radius. We always order the same things when checking out a new Thai place: Pad Thai for him, Pad Kee Mao for her so we've had plenty of variations of these dishes. Those 2 dishes we had at Bon Appe Thai were some of the best ones we had. They were delicious - not drenched in sauce and very, very flavorful. I could taste the basil in my Pad Kee Mao (kind of rare). It was so good I could lick the plate. For $15-$16 we thought it was very pricey and thus the 4 stars and not 5. Portion size, like other reviewers mentioned, wasn't Olive Garden size but I'd rather have quality over quantity so we didn't have too much of a qualm with that. I only wish they were cheaper or had reasonable lunch special (at $13 - the lunch special is still very pricey).

Had reservation People rude Would not every go back again With 2 great Thai restaurants in town no need

Wonderful food and cheerful service. Eaten Thai food numerous times and this was excellent. Did not find bill to be high for Jackson - Two of us with wine and tip $72.00.

Sep 7 Update: In addition to the three of us who dined here on Aug 28, we returned with two additional friends for another visit to Bon Appe Thai. It was as tasty and enjoyable as the first visit. Three of us regularly enjoy Lotus of Siam in our hometown of Las Vegas. Lotus is frequently reviewed as "one of the best if not the best Thai restaurant in the country" in a wide variety of publications. Bon Appe Thai easily matches Lotus on food taste and quality and greatly exceeds it on ambiance and service. Lotus still serves great food but their service and ambiance has gone dramatically downhill since they expanded a few years ago and starting bringing in busloads of tourists. They've clearly increased their volume but at the expense of service and the customer experience. So, a few words of totally unsolicited advice to the owners of Bon Appe Thai; if you decide to expand do so in slow and and deliberate manner so you don't accidentally screw up the great thing you have going on at Bon Appe Thai. And, thanks for two wonderful evenings of pleasurable dining in Jackson! Original August 28th review that I erroneously posted to the wrong restaurant: Our server was friendly, knowledgeable about the various menu items and had great suggestions about pairing food selection with the curry offerings. One of us had and thoroughly enjoyed "traditional Thai noodle soup" and one had a delicious dish of chicken with yellow curry with potatoes and carrots. This place is a real keeper and we'll be returning this week for dinner. In addition to very tasty food, the vibe is casual, contemporary and relaxing.

After reading all the negative reviews I would like to add my take on this restaurant. At first I thought the service was going to be slow but once we placed our order our food came out very quickly. The food was delicious and very fresh. I have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants and this one is one of the best I have ever had.

The Thai food experience in a small town is an interesting one. There aren't many Thai options, so you never know what you will get. A friend and I came here for their lunch menu which is about 13$ and includes a spring roll, your entrée, a salad, and rice. The salad was alright, but the dressing tasted like straight up peanut butter. If you are a huge peanut butter fan, this may be for you. The rest of the food was good. I had chicken green curry, and it was tasty, but not very spicy at 3 stars... our waitress offered to bring extra spices, but they never came. I think this was due to another staff member that did not appear to speak or understand English very well.... anyway, I hear staffing is at a premium in Jackson in the summer. The spring rolls were probably the best item, super crispy, yet light. Very tasty. This wasn't my favorite food in Jackson, but it's a decent option if you want Thai and don't want to drive.

The resort where we were staying, The Amangani, made reservations for us days in advance. When we arrived we were greeted with very RUDE staff who basically had no time to talk to us since they could find no reservation. They made no apologies, were not at all concerned, and basically ignored us. We called the resort who called them and it was discovered the restaraunt wrote the wrong day down. The Amamgani asked them to rectify the situation as it was their fault. They basically told the Amangani "too bad" but by then we'd given this nasty restaraunt our backs to find a better place to eat. I don't care how good food is, rude people aren't worth your time.

Dad wanted Thai food or Indian food. There is no Indian food in Jackson, Wyoming, but there were three Thai restaurants. The first one we went to was a glorified brewery with some horrible sounding, expensive Thai pub food. A drunk guy from Minnesota told us it was the best Thai food ever, so we decided to skip that place. A block down, we came across this place and its exterior charm drew us in. Bon Appe Thai is a nice, mid-size Thai restaurant that's stylish and warm. The menu is a little limited and a little price-y compared to what I'm used to, but the food was excellent! I got their fresh spring rolls and Dad got the Panang curry. My spring rolls were large and stuffed full of fresh ingredients. There was a really tasty bowl of peanut sauce on the side. Dad loved his curry and ate every last bite! Our waitress was super nice and the service was quick and attentive. If I ever return to Jackson, Wyoming, I'll definitely come here again!

Food here is fine but very expensive. We were charged 20% tips without asking, that's really annoying...

We eat here when ever we drive through Jackson Hole. They are pet friendly on the lanai, so we bring our two min pins when the weather is good. Food is tasty and the service is great.

We were told by my cousin who has lived in Jackson to go to Teton Thai Plate. Being New Years' Day, it was closed. Huge bummer. This was the absolute most disappointing "Thai" meal we've ever had, and we eat a LOT of Thai. We called to order take out after skiing. I ordered the Tom Kha with shrimp, and it had one shrimp. ONE. I really would have been ok with it if the soup itself was flavorful. It was AWFUL!! I added my own garlic, braggs, pepper and hot sauce...just bland. My husband ordered the yellow curry, and it was almost like water. Never, ever again. We also paid 12 dollars for fresh "spring rolls," and were charged 3 bucks for shrimp. The killer here is that they cut two shrimp in half and put one half on TOP of the "spring roll." We will never waste 40 bucks on such an awful meal again.

Solidly ok. The food wasn't amazing , but it wasn't horrible either. I enjoyed the meal but didn't think it was worth going out and spending money. If it was the only thai place in town I would be ok with it, but with more options this shouldn't be your first choice.
(3)Gui M.
It was good food but I ordered a 2 out of 5 and it was so flipping hot!!! Couldn't even eat it. My dad ordered the 1 and it was pretty good. They didn't offer to make it again which sucked.
(3)Shal J.
Go to Teton Thai Plate instead. Service was lame, food was lame and very, very overpriced. Coming from an SF resident, that should tell you something. Clearly targeting tourists and living off of old glory. I'll say it again: Go to Teton Thai Plate instead.

My husband and I ate lunch here a little over a week ago. It was chilly and I wanted some warm, coconut soup. The soup was delicious, I might even venture to say it's better than my favorite local Thai restaurant near my home. It had fancy mushrooms vs. the standard white/button mushrooms and lemongrass (bits of lemongrass were found in my soup). We both ordered the same thing - cashew chicken. It was delicious and the chef used star and heart shaped molds to shape the rice on our plates. A little fancy touch, which was unexpected and fun. I'd eat here again if I was in the area.

Visited this restaurant with the family after being in Yellowstone for the week. I had also been to Thailand the previous month, so I was skeptical about trying out a Thai joint in touristy Jackson. I was impressed! To put it short and sweet, the food was very authentic and the service was great. The food we ordered was the type of foods you would see in Thailand, and the spicyness and flavors matched as well. My meal was a generous '4 out of 5' on the hot level, and it was hot indeed. Overall, definitely stop here if you are looking for some authentic Thai food. Pretty sure they had Thai cooks in the kitchen. Cheers! Service: 8.5/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Food: 9/10
(5)Tommy_n_Loretta C.
The prices are pretty high averaging $16 per entree. The place is small so make reservations for parties of four or more. The night we arrived, they were very busy and had many takeout orders too. The food was ok but nothing to write home about.
(3)Brent R.
I ordered the kee Mao and it was amazing I haven't had a dish this good in a long time and eat a lot of Thai food. It's a very small restaurant so I highly recommend calling ahead and making a reservation. Oh and the rib appetizers are amazing.
(5)Jan S.
Very tasty, good food = 4 stars Very small portions for the money = 1 star Old, old menu on web page = 1 star Total...around 3 stars Their web page says Pad Thai is $9.95. The actual cost was $14.95. Fried pineapple rice was listed on the web as $10.95. The actual price? A whopping $15.95. These prices were for extremely small portions...I would say about a cup of rice and a cup of noodles. C'mon....you can add more of the starch for those prices! I actually came away feeling a little hungry, $30+ later. The flavor was excellent...the portions and prices? Not so much.
(3)Lana S.
My husband and I enjoyed our meals... Fresh ingredients and very tasty. We would recommend this restaurant! They do not take American Express credit cards, so you should bring another credit card or cash. For this reason, I did not give them 5 stars.
(4)Janusz M.
Good food but terrible organization. One star, because the taste couldn't compensate my bad impression. They serve 'to-go' orders before people waiting in the restaurant. We waited for 50 minutes and then we were told that there are only two more orders before ours. It was ridiculous because we came before those people.

First off, there are so many Thai places in Jackson, WY- no idea why. There are probably 8 Thai eateries in all of Wyoming and 6 of them are here. So, if you are just in town visiting for a couple of days you definitely have choices. Now I haven't been to all of them but I think I'm just missing one. If you are not a Thai "aficionado" and really just like a Pad Thai or a some meat dish with rice, then I will go ahead and say you are probably safe with any of the Thai places in Jackson. At that point, the only really mitigating factor would be the location you are looking for and the atmosphere you want. Here at Bon Appe Thai, I would describe this as your casual bistro style place. The decore and ambiance is quiet nice. Its an upscale Asian design, but I am no interior designer so maybe take that with a grain of salt. There is a nice outdoor patio area perfect of a lunch gathering. On to the food! When I came here I ordered the pad-sew-yoo. It was good. A pretty generous portion and exactly how the menu described it. No surprises here. I looked around and everyone else it seemed ordered their lunch special: something like a entree of your choosing, rice, egg roll. and a side salad for $13. Pretty average pricing for Jackson. It also seemed pretty good as well. If you come here and you are more of an experienced Thai eater, I would HIGHLY recommend the tom-yum soup. Unlike most places that will just used a dissolved packet of salts for the tom-yum soup, this place actually makes their own with real herbs and spices. Super-intence but super-delicious, my only wish is they used a cheese cloth to hold in the spices in but maybe there is a rhyme to their reason.
(4)Michael W.
The food is good, but... The portions are small, the food is overpriced ($15 for a plate of Pad Thai that quite frankly left me rather hungry afterwards), and the wait time, at least in our case, was pretty long.
(3)Nicole H.
Love this place! Best Lunch in Jackson. Always fresh and delicious. They have a lunch special that is perfect. We eat here at least 3 times a week for lunch.
(5)Taylour B.
Best Thai food I have ever had!!! I went with my family for Christmas Eve and we fell in love!! Even my brother who hates Thai food is now convinced it is fabulous:) then we went back again the next week to have just as yummy food! The service was fabulous too and I love that they will customize a meal exactly how you want it! Thank you guys for such a great experience
(5)Justin K.
Best Yellow Curry Ever!!! I am here for a family vacation (From St. Louis) and my wife and I wanted to find a place walking distance from our hotel. The place is small but the people were nice and the food was excellent!! If I ever come back to Jackson, WY this will be the first place I'll go.

I had an early dinner today after a stunning morning on the mtn. stir fried vegs with noodles and a cold Snake River OB1 hit the spot. great service and great food. I like hot and spicy food and the medium hot with a little thai pepper sauce on the side was perfect. thanks.
(5)David C.
I don't write many reviews, but I have to comment on the lunch we had earlier today. The red curry with Peking duck was the best we ever had. The Pad Kee Won was also exceptional. Our friends ordered Tom Yum soup and really enjoyed it. The server offered us a choice of spiciness on a 1 to 5 scale. We ordered "4" and it was "nicely spicy". Service was friendly and the atmosphere was chill. When one dish came out not as ordered, it was cheerfully and quickly replaced. Highly recommend this little gem in the heart of Jackson.
(5)Jennifer S.
Just ok...nice to sit on the patio with a beautiful view of the mountains, but the service was slow and the food wasn't very flavorful.
(3)Puneet K.
Great service, great food and really liked the mint tea
(5)Michael C.
We were excited to eat Thai food and this was highly rated. However, I was highly disappointed. The serving for beef red curry was small and the beef not tender enough. The curry was mildly spicy. The only saving grace was the Pad Thai and even its portion was small. The price was expensive for serving size and quality. For really great Thai food, try Teton Thai at Teton Village.
(2)Grace T.
I need to say this is a wonderful restaurant at this town. I ordered noodles and it was really delicious. I can not forget every moment in this restaurant. The rice is made into heart or star shape. It is really interesting. They have outdoors seats. It is definitely a good choice to chat with friends or have a date here. I had lots fun here with friends. Service is good though you may not see Thai people :)
(5)W B.
So impressed. My best friend and business partner is Thai, so we've eaten a lot of Thai food over the years, both restaurants and family cooking. My son's favorite food of all time is pad see u, so we pretty much have to eat Thai whereever we go. This place is great. Yes, the service was slow, since there were only two servers. But the food was tasty, not too oily. The portions were adequate. And the desserts (blueberry pie and lemon raspberry cake), while not Thai, were awesome. Good reviews from the whole group, including 2 food snobs from San Francisco. We're going back tomorrow!
(5)amber v.
My sister and I ate dinner here after a Long day of skiing. The food was yummy and fresh. The portions were a good size as well. Would go back when visiting Jackson.
(4)Amber G.
I'm a local and know alll the thai food places in town.. we have a lot! And I've been to Thailand so i'm a little picky about the classics. THIS is my spot for Pad thai!! It's perfect! And it's a cute quaint little spot for a mellow dinner. Revise: they changed the recipe on the. Pad Thai, it is not good anymore. Prices are out of control and the. Last time we got food to go it was an hour wait.
(2)Isabel R.
We love this restaurant and the staff is always super attentive and friendly. Great curries and I love the Tom Yum soup.
(5)Chuck N.
I have to comment on Adam B, you say "Who doesn't deliver Thai Food" Umm none of the Thai restaurants here deliver. We actually have few restaurants in this town that do. So your rating of this restaurant based on the fact that is doesn't deliver is totally miss-placed. So I am giving this place a rating of 5 stars because it doesn't deliver, OBVIOUSLY!
(5)Katie T.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The pad thai was excellent and the yellow curry was awesome too. The chef came out after the meal and was from Thailand. Don't get dessert though . . we got 2 peices - cake and pie and both were old, dried out and horrible.
(4)Ruth G.
Our family went here last week and the pad thai tasted nothing like pad thai. The service was also awful. We got a lot of attitude when the waitress saw our kids and we didn't order drinks and appetizers for all. She was actually fairly unpleasant our whole meal. My daughter made a picture just for the waitress and when she presented it to the waitress, we didn't even get a smile from her.... I wouldn't return.
(1)Alan B.
Very good Thai food, complemented by friendly and attentive service. Pad Thai and red curry combination, with steamed rice were tasty and well portioned. Unlike most Thai restaurants, the orders are served as individual portions rather than to be shared. The service staff were able to accommodate us.
(4)Alak M.
We visited this restaurant mid of August, it was rated 4 stars, so I thought it should not be too bad, but it's horrible 1. almost no service, placed order, served the food (made one mistake), that's it, nobody checked after that. However they charge 20% service fee in the bill anyway. 2. Small dish, and so-so quality. Even it's Jackson Hole, but still be too pricey. I'm a Thai food lover, for the same dish in bay area, it would be $7.50, but their price is $16.95. We have group of 10, 6 adults, 4 kids, all adults have to eat some snacks after the dinner. 3. My friend's mom got diarrhea 1 hour after that. Not sure if it is caused by their food. Anyway you are warned.
(1)Stephen P.
I enjoyed two meals at BonAppeThai during my stay in Jackson in July, 2012. The people are very friendly, the ambiance with outdoor cate style seating comfortable, and the cooking delicious and original for the most part. The Tom Ka soup had a complex herbal quality that went beyond the usual strong taste of galanga. I ordered a panang curried scallops that rates up their with the best Thai curries i've tasted anywhere. The one disappointment was the Shumai appetizer, which was rather hard inside, probably inadequately steamed. I didn't try the other Thai restaurants in the area, but this one is definitely worth a visit.
(4)Brock G.
HANDS DOWN THE BEST PAD THAI inTOWN!!!!! It's sooo delicious and no other thai place in town holds a candle to it. Super nice people too.
(5)Wilbert O.
After a long trip back from yellowstone and grand Teton national parks, we decide to have some Thai food to celebrate. It was a bit cold, so chose some spicy food. I asked for jungle curry with bamboo shoot, bean as well as tofu. It was a delicious dinner. The food was proper spicy, 4 star from 5. I liked the food here.

After spending many ravenous hours in the car, we stopped in Jackson, WY, to stuff our faces with whatever food was around. The bf and i were headed to that "i'm so hungry that everything you say pisses me off immensely" zone, so time was of the essence. We stopped at Bon Appe Thai, and I have to admit, I was a little leery. I never thought of Wyoming as a cultural epicenter of thai food, but i was so hungry that my judgemental thoughts were too energy depleting to continue. We got seated immmediately (the restaurant was empty) by a really nice guy (the owner, i assume). He gave us water and took our drink orders. The portions were family style, and in our starved state, we ordered waay too much food. Red curry, pad thai, AND pad kra prao. Oh man. The food came out quickly. Seeing it all being carried to the table was the highlight of my life at that moment. Everything was delicious. I may be a little biased due to starvation, but whatev. The pad kra prao was better than the one i usually order back home. I ate til I was full & then some, and we still had 3 full takeout containers. I imagine the waiter/owner thought we were big fat monsters, but he was polite, regardless. I wish I lived closer to the yum times, but alas, life is full of unfairness. We ended up taking the leftovers with us. The next morning, in Salt Lake City (mormontastic!), that pad thai tasted pretty freaking amazing. Bon Appe Thai, the gift that keeps on giving.
(5)Louise T.
Delicious shrimp pud thai and great service! Fresh spring rolls are a must.
(5)Jeremy J.
I've made it here twice now. It seems like the service and food have improved in the two years since we went there. This time we got the satay w/ peanut sauce. It was good. We also got the yellow & red curries. They were good, straight-ahead curries. Not too sweet and spiced just right. We also got red curry with super-high-heat for my uncle who loves the spice. When we went last time, they didn't listen to his order for crazy hot and he was unimpressed. This time, we spent time explaining how hot. When the food came, the waiter looked like he wanted to see my uncle pass out from the heat. When he finished it, the waiter was surprised and said that it was 5 ++ heat. The point is that everyone was happy and liked what they got. Great patio weather permitting.
(4)John N.
Came here when visiting the area per the recommendation of someone. The inside isn't anything too special. Nothing crazy like booths, but it has a simple decorative feel that I liked. Service was prompt and friendly without being overbearing. The soup was spicy and good. The pad Thai was CRAZY good. It was quite big so I ended up bringing the rest home for a late snack. All in all nothing bad to say about BAT. Oh, and considering the prices at other local restaurants, the prices here aren't too bad either.
(4)Chris W.
Ate here with the kids. Not a big place, some outdoor seating. Good service w/ wine and beer. Had the fried won ton appetizer, pad thai, yellow curry and pad kra pao. All good, but appreciated the pkp the most. Curry was skimpiest in size, others decent. Price about what you pay anywhere in town for reasonable food. Would go back if I was in J. and wanted Thai, but would not go out of my way for it.
(3)Thursday D.
Stumbled upon this place while walking around Jackson during the dinner hour. My husband had the yellow curry which he enjoyed (and the star shaped pile of rice was a cute touch). I ordered the pad thai, which is always a safe choice at any Thai establishment. My God. This was the best pad thai I have ever encountered. Beautiful presentation. Large quantity. Wonderful complex flavor. I will need to return to Wyoming to enjoy this place again.
(5)Jenn S.
Aside from the pleasant service, the place was too pricey for the quality of food. I'm not accustomed to paying 13 bucks on 'okay' pad thai or yellow curry. The veggie rolls looked like they were fried in not-too-fresh oil. No qualms with parking, even on a Friday night! The restaurant is located off the beaten path (across from the post office) so no fighting with Broadway store fronts, but it only took 5 minutes of walking to hit the main stretch. I don't know about one star, but three should leave room for trying out other thai restaurants I've heard about in 9,000 pax Jackson Hole.
(3)Alex H.
Food is surprisingly good (I wasn't expecting much in Jackson Hole). Food in Jackson is pricey so finding a moderately priced place (for Jackson) was greatly appreciated. I wasn't expecting much but was so pleasantly surprised we came back after trying other restaurants in Jackson and being underwhelmed.
(4)P C.
Slightly oily yellow curry. We had the lunch specials and tried yellow and green chicken curries. Salad n two spring rolls come with the lunch express menu. Food was interesting take on thai and it was ok. Not the best, but definitely better than the neighboring places
(3)J T.
Maybe I hit this place on an off night, but I wasn't too impressed. I had basil tofu which was perfectly edible and sort of reminded me of Thai food, but it also reminded me of a TV dinner. Maybe it was the Uncle Ben's instant rice they served with it. At least the service was friendly and the food was out fast... except for the rice. Every time we asked for more they said, "Hold on, we got to cook some more!"
