My husband and I along with our grown daughter and her boyfriend decided to give Sakura a try for lunch. We sat at the hibachi grill and all had different items off the lunch hibachi menu. The food was, without doubt delicious and amazing. The chef was humorous, delightful and entertaining and our waitress was attentive with our drinks and other table-side needs. Our table group had various combinations of shrimp, scallops and chicken and everything was beautifully cooked and prepared well. I was rather impressed by the care shown in the back kitchen who took the time to carefully lay out and arrange the raw seafood and chicken in such a way that I felt that they cared about quality and presentation. They could have easily brought out little bowls with the chicken, shrimp and scallops and the end result would have been the same. But instead the raw food was arranged tidily on a platter and from there tossed on the hibachi. It just made me feel like there was care taken. The decor of this lovely restaurant was not what I expected at all. From the outside the restaurant looks very cheap and generic. Like something you would see at a fast food place inside a mall food court. But once you get past the outside windows with huge generic stock photos of sushi and tempura and walk inside the atmosphere changes to a lovely, well decorated, restaurant that is simple and beautiful. If it were me, I would get rid of the tacky window decals and go with something simple and beautiful such as etched glass or something elegant and simple. But that it just me. My husband and I both commented that we finally have a nice "date night" restaurant to go to. Someplace where you can dress up a little bit, enjoy a wonderful meal and a little entertainment to boot and feel like an adult. I am looking forward to coming back to this restaurant over and over again and sampling their sushi and sashimi, tempura and teriyaki. It all looked amazing and I cannot wait to go back!

This is what Gillette has needed for FOREVER, even if it didn't know it. The interior is immaculately decorated in dark, rich woods and beautiful Japanese touches. It offers 3 main dining areas to choose from. The Sushi Bar area that is lit with subtle but catchy multi colored fixtures and gives all seated there a fun view if the sushi chefs working their magic. You may also choose to be seated at their hibachi grill , and I guarantee the show will delight your eyes while the food delights your tastebuds. The hibachi chef's are highly trained and elicit "ooohhh" and "ahhhh" as well as rounds of applause with every trick. The final dining area consists of booths with optional privacy curtains, rich dark wood tables and traditional table seating with comfortable armless chairs. The wait staff was courteous, quick on their feet and never let a glass run dry. For starters we had Gyoza (a Japanese pork dumpling). They were delicious and the dipping sauce was one of a kind. We also snacked upon the breaded soft shell crab which came with a sweet dipping sauce that had a delicate spice to it. Our main entrees consisted of a 10pc sashimi platter, 2 of their special rolls (Spicy Lady and Spider roll), and I had the Seafood Noodle soup. My soup was described as having scallops, crab and salmon along with fresh veggies and of course noodles. Much to my delight it included tender and generous chunks of lobster tail! The noodles tasted as if they had been made from scratch that morning. The scallops were young, tender and sweet just the way a great scallop should be and the salmon came in pieces almost the size of a deck of cards. Certainly no skimping here! The sashimi platter was "Chefs choice" and came with beautifully sliced tuna, salmon, butterfish (and another I can't recall as my husband devoured it). It came wonderfully displayed and was a feast for the eyes as well. The specialty rolls were large, and beautifully constructed and once again neither of us could find anything remotely bad to say. Sushi roll perfection. The menu is quite large and offers a wide variety of Japanese fare. Lobster, filet mignon, shrimp, salmon, chicken, you name it. There is an ample appetizer section, bento box lunches, tempura choices, soups, desserts, you name it. Whether you already love Japanese food or have simply never tried it THIS is the place to be. A casual lunch, a romantic dinner, even a celebration at the hibachi. This place is fit for all occasions. Bravo Sakura!!!

Excellent table service, atmosphere, and of course food. Very modern Japanese style restaurant with modern Japanese style food. I hade the beef negimaki and though portions are smaller than traditional American food, it was excellent. I highly recommend this as a place to bring the family or eat by yourself. The atmosphere is almost "club like" for dining.

Food is average, nothing special. Miso soup is terrible. Restaurant is very nicely decorated and clean. Waitstaff is very friendly. I think the residents of Gillette are so hard up for something different that this place is getting rave reviews.
