Hands down the best Carmel Roll I've had in a minute...perfect for that "time of the month" ;) fast service. Great tasting food. And if you're a smoker, it's ok here too!

We had an hour to kill before our flight back to Chicago so Seth searched the best local spot that was open on a Sunday morning and came up with Lula Belles. it was packed so we had to wait. Must say, the restaurant was not on the clean side, Mellody would not approve. after waiting for awhile a table opened up but some people jumped down in the seats even though we had been there longer, apparently that's how it works, the race is to the swift. so we eyed another table paying their bill and the moment their butts left the seats ours where in them. after seeing numerous plates of food pass by we decided to forego a complete breakfast and just ordered the cinnamon bun and a slice of apple pie ala mode (soft serve no less) as those are two items this joint is known for. we split them, had a coffee each and $10 later left a generous tip and headed to the airport. can't say they were the best pie and bun i ever had in my life but...Oh well. it was an experience.

Stopped by for breakfast. The place is small, isn't very clean and the food wasn't very good. A waste of time if you ask me.

Other than allowing smokers to smoke inside, this is a great little restaurant. Great breakfast meals, large quantities. Definitely try the cinnamon bun!

Very very good food & service! Good prices! Kinda hidden but it's worth the find! Very friendly staff! Try the French dip!

went there today, had a Indian Taco, wished I had my phone with me, and took a picture. the worst meal I have ever had the fried bread was burnt on the outside and how it was doughy and gross in the inside amazed me. meat was burnt and hard. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THAT PLACE AGAIN. How its get so many good reviews is beyond me. must have real loyal patrons, that's all I can say for that. TERRIBLE FOOD.

Decent breakfast if I could have tasted it. Small seating area and everyone was smoking nonstop. Felt nauseated and had to leave. Have had people tell me it's a good place to eat, but I won't be going back.

Great little place out of the way against the rail yard. My girlfriend and I went there for breakfast and instead had lunch for breakfast and it was great, cook was a little overwhelmed by the sheer volume of customers packed in this little place as every table was full but it wasn't 25 minutes before I had my well cooked burger and fries and desert shortly afterwards.

I had breakfast and maybe should have come back for the pie but my sausage was over cooked and dry. My biggest complaint is the fact it's a small place and people are allowed to smoke. Cigarettes and coffee just don't mix.

I had the western omelet served piping hot just like at home. The hash browns were really delicious and browned on the outside and soft and hot on the inside. Coffee was very good served with a carton of half and half on the table. Perfect! Didn't have to fool with opening those small tubs. The waitress kept my cup filled with hot coffee until I had to stop her. My husband had real homemade French toast. It wasn't fast food, but we got to read USA Today while we waited.

My wife is from this area and suggested Lula Belle's. So, knowing she was going to feed me, I happily got in the car and we drove over to it. I had the biscuits/gravy special that included, surprise surprise, biscuits and gravy, two eggs and hot links. I don't remember what my wife had, but that doesn't matter. It's all about me! I mean, Lula Belle's! Everything was ... ok. There was a lot of food...I'm a fat guy and I left full. The biscuits and gravy were decent, the eggs were cooked as I asked for them and the hot links were good. They were pretty much large hot dogs that were a little more spicy. My wife had bacon with her meal and it was thick cut and very good. It is smokey in there and it is small. There seemed to be an "old man" table in one corner that was always occupied. One old man would come in, have his coffee and leave. Within minutes another one would come in , have his coffee and leave - and on and on for the time we were there. As noted in another review there are about 10 tables there and maybe 6 seats at the counter. I didn't try the pie and even though I saw a pecan roll that looked good, I passed on that too. Overall an ok place with ok food. We will probably go back the next time we are in Gillette, unless we find something better.

Can't wait till the snow hits This 70 degree weather is for the birds. I have been eating Lula's pie for years. I've seen kids grow up in this establishment, eating great food and getting that Gillette kinda service. I love this place. Where are the Wyomey Yelpers!?

Food OK, bakery terrific, people/americana fantastic!

Spunky service, and excellent pie. A tiny place with only about 10 tables. Clean enough, but not sparkling- if you can handle the rough edges, you'll enjoy it. I had biscuits and gravy, a scrambled egg, and hotlinks. Waaay too much food for me, I should have gotten a half order of all of it. But, it was tasty, so I ate more than I should have.

I feel bad giving it only two stars but I had heard such good things and was disapointed. I haven't had the pie so maybe I should go back, but had an omlet for breakfast and it was average. Don't plan to go back unless to try their pie.

Ah, Lula Belle's... The Gillette institution, the quintessential greasy spoon, its image enhanced by sharing a parking lot with the local rail yard. It's not exactly clean, but the light grime and secondhand smoke do give it a certain battered charm. The regulars at the "big table" in the corner, solving local/county/state/country/world problems and talking aobut the quality of hay this year added a nice touch. I went this morning for the first time in years, and it was what it always is--very big portions and bottomless coffee served up quickly and at a reasonable price. I had the biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and hot links special. I wasn't a fan of the hot links, but the biscuits and gravy were good, and the eggs were what I expected. I had about 1/3 of a cinnamon roll afterwards. Delicious and Huge. Their pies are rumored to be incredible. I've never had the lunch, but breakfast is pretty good, though I have to admit that even though it is nearly dinner time, the legacy of my breakfast is still with me in that heavy, greasy feeling and vague troubles deep in my belly...

good quick food. but you have to like the flavor of cigarette smoke, I don't.

The best pie in America There are some places that advertise their pie is the best, and other places that simply have the best pie and don't even realize it. Lula Belle's seems to have no idea that their pie reigns supreme. It is a classic greasy spoon located at the north end of Gillette Avenue, where locals while away the time and will sit down at your table and tell you all about life in their town. Unforgettable.
