I always enjoyed getting the baby mushroom burger from here. It was a treat when I was in the mood for fast food but didnt want ordinary fast food. Though the price range is cheap (according to Yelp), it can still get pretty spendy eating here. Thank goodness it tastes good though.

We came here on the fourth of july, after stocking up on fireworks. Since drive thru's are inherently American, what better way to celebrate than to get some burgers and fries? First of all, the ordering process was a bit of an ordeal as the drive thru speakers were consistently malfunctioning. In spite of this, nothing on our order was wrong, and miraculously we got everything we had asked for. The food was okay. Being a vegetarian, I didn't sample the burgers or chicken, but those who did said there wasn't really much to it. Especially the chicken, which was apparently flavored heavily with pepper. We got fries both spicy and cheese which were basically thrown together in a slapdash manner. The cheese fries didn't look particularly good (basic fries slathered in nacho cheese sauce) but they tasted pretty great. Spicy fries were drowned in seasoning, and didn't offer up much. To sum it all up, Wally's is just another burger drive thru that doesn't offer up anything astounding, but works in a pinch.

Siri recommended Wally's Burger so we decided to give it a go. Not too many quick food stops in Evanston. For the low prices, you definitely get what you expect. For about $3, tried the Wally Burger which was an ok burger, a little heavy on the mayo side. Fries were not overly greasy which was nice. Fresh lime juice was refreshing, but should be called lime soda. In the end, we filled our bellies, staff seemed friendly and meal was still better than McDonalds any day.

Wally's was a disappointment... I'm always a fan of a good ol' cheeseburger, but the single cheeseburger here was a mess. Don't be deceived, it had a good presentation, but the bun fell apart after one bite. Also, the baby burger should be renamed to baby slider, super tiny. And, since when do restaurants charge for condiments like fry sauce! Try elsewhere if your lookin for an $18 lunch...

I've lived in evanston all my life Wally's is my go to greasy spoon. I love the fish and chips and their shakes are the best in town. Their service is a tad slow on some days but I'm never disappointed when I've eaten there.

Mexican burger?! Don't mind if I give this one a shot. Located in a small town of Wyoming, if you are into burgers and happen to be in the area, I would come to this place. Shakes here are great and fries are hand cut.

Doesn't pretend to be some gourmet burger place. Just good old fashioned burgers. Place to go if you want a change from the mega burger chains. Bit slow in service but meh, I was in no rush.

Hey, I was hungry and only had the option of eating in Evanston Wyoming. This place was very very very subpar. But, hey it was a cheap burger joint to start with. The fries are nice and crispy but had no salt. The hamburger were the typical cheap hamburger but it was not filling at all. The staff was nice but the old man (I'm guessing he was the owner) kept standing there and made the ordering procedure weird. There is very very few burger shops in Evanston. So, if you have no where else to go and can't eat another Wendy's hamburger.... well, lets just say, I would still go with the Wendy's hamburger!

Best burgers in Evanston. Great real ice cream milkshakes. I would recommend their fish and chips if you don't want a burger. They are excellent and they even use real beer battered English chips and not fries.

In a world where cookie cutter burger chains dominate the fast food scene... do I sound like Nick LaFontaine (RIP) or what??? Anyhoo, Wally's is one of a handful of "Mom-n-Pop" burger/sandwich places in Evanston. The staff there are young and energetic, which is a plus seeing as though they get really busy sometimes. Their food is nice and fresh, and best of all their portions and prices are extremely reasonable. When we went, I had a burger with guacamole, swiss cheese and mushrooms, and the 'shrooms tasted like they were sauteed fresh, not canned. Whatever the case, they were tasty, as were the fries and onion rings. The zucchini sticks were good too. I didn't get a chance to try one of their very delicious looking malts or shakes this time, but that is next on the list 'cause we will be back! The only downside about this place - they're closed on Sundays :(

I had a burger and fries, the burger was pretty average but I loved the fries. They were very generous with the mustard on both of our burgers so I would request light mustard unless you're a huge fan. the place needs some updating but the lobby was pretty clean.

We went through the drive-thru on the way home to Utah. We go through Evanston almost every weekend during the summer and early fall due to hunting and camping. We really wanted to try some fast food that was not McDonalds, Arbys, Subway or Wendys. We had the double cheeseburgers, cheese fries and chocolate shakes. It was all pretty good. I would eat the double cheeseburger here before going to any of the pre-mentioned fast food places. The cheesy fries were really good. It was not processed nacho cheese as one reviewer stated. Perhaps when they went it was, but not anymore and I'm impressed they put so much of it on the fries and were not stingy. The burger was juicy and delicious. Perhaps they need a lighter hand when applying the condiments. There was a lot of mayo, mustard and ketchup. Could have used maybe a little more texture like, more lettuce. But all in all, it was a decent burger. Shakes I'm not too sure about. "Ice cream" comes out of the soft serve machine which usually...and I could be wrong about them...but usually means "non-dairy product." Then they mix in the flavoirings. So the chocolate shakes tasted very similar to "non-dairy product" mixed with hershey's syrup. It wasn't terrible. Just wasn't the best. Would I go back? Yes! I think I would. It was much fresher and tastier than the chains in the area. I would like to give some of their other items a chance and see if I can improve the star rating of three I gave. P.S. Service is a little slow for a drive through. Friendly but slow. I like to think it's because they are making everything super fresh. :)

Large fries were so small. Fries sauce was weird. Burger was burnt and looked like it got run over it was so flat. Food literally took 20+ mins to get served. Only thing that deserved mention in this place was their shake. The vanilla shake was pretty good. Everything else sucked.

HORRIBLE fish! There was tons of black nastiness in these "mystery fish" nuggets. They also tasted super fishy and were extremely greasy. My daughters each got a veggie burger an they were equally nasty. The patties were mealy and contained a lot of stuff that we weren't able to identify. Hopefully they were mushrooms? This is certainly a place that believes in "freezer to fryer" for most of its food. The tots and rings were average at best. Every town seems to have one of these little greasy drive-in joints. Some of them are damn good... this one is terrible. They get two stars instead of 1 because the place was clean and the (extremely young) staff was friendly and competent.

Aggregate Score: 3 stars Food (simple comfort food, burgers, grilled cheese, fries) gets 4 stars. Cleanliness (no paper towels in the bathroom (and no heater/blower)), stuff on the floor in all corners, arcade games positively i c k y - 1 star. The food itself was pretty darn good. You can order the fries with "fry sauce" which is ketchup and mayo mixed, apparently a local "thang" you can get in Utah and Wyoming, or just plain old ketchup. The food was cooked fresh, and tasted just fine. Bring in the guy who fixes bars with his cleaning crew on TV, and this could be really good.

Good burger, but the fresh cut fries are the real story here. Delish! Service was spot on, as well. Clean dining room. Fast Service, but it was definitely cooked to order. Skip the hot dogs/chili dogs--just average dogs with canned chili.
