It's not a very good place in terms of food or service, but my dining partner loved his ribeye. I liked the 1980s decor, the Sunday morning crowd of seniors, and the 80s music. It reminded me of Ponderosa when I was a kid. And their ice tea is excellent -- like really good.

Like many have previously commented, this place is really bad. This first part may not be the lounge's fault (and hence did not affect my review), but as a heads up, we had a strange experience at the lounge -- my husband and I are both 30 and I am nearly 8 months pregnant. We went to the lounge and my husband ordered a beer and I ordered a glass of water. The waitress asked *me* for an ID (and not my husband), and my husband had to go fetch my ID from our room (being so far along in pregnancy, it was much easier for him to fetch it than for me). So, even if you're not drinking, make sure you bring an ID to the lounge! Now, on to the rest -- the service is very, very poor. At the lounge, we waited about 20 minutes for the waitress to come and collect our credit card after she dropped off the check (then when she returned, she literally stood right next to us and waited while we filled out the receipt -- very awkward). The next morning, we went to the restaurant for breakfast and it took nearly an hour from the time we sat at the table to the time we actually received our food (and the place was not very busy). The food itself was just OK. I highly recommend looking at other places for dinner/breakfast if you're staying at the Best Western; don't prepay for the breakfast package like we did. There's an excellent diner nearby that we found on a separate occasion -- I think it's called Jody's Diner, and the food and service is excellent.

Good breakfast! I was having the Condemned man's Breakfast and it was absulotely the best breakfast I had for a very long time. The steak was perfect. I recommend it to anyone!

The worse food and service we have had. Our waitress felt our drinks didn't need filled, our food was horrible for the price we paid. We were so disappointed .. We could see our waitress on her phone and acting like we weren't suppose to be there. We will never return.

I'm quite surprised by the negative reviews. My husband and I went after discovering Bon Rico was closed. We got bbq wings as an appetizer and they were great! We both got the salad bar which was pretty decent. All of the food on it was fresh and it comes with a choice of two soups. We got French Onion which turned out delicious. Both of us got burgers. They were very good! I had great tater tots and husband had fries. Our server was on top of everything and very friendly. The interior was very clean as well as the bathrooms. We did end up spending about $50. but we didn't feel like it was crazy overpriced for what we got. I would go again. I say to others reading the old reviews from 2011 to give it a second chance. Sun may 20th, 2015. Went back to Legal Tender. Ordered the macadamia nut encrusted Mahi Mahi. O....M....G!!!!! So, so fabulous!!!! I just got back from Oahu and had nothing as good as this!!! Victor was the chef. I can't even begin to tell you how good this fish was!!! Asparagus that came with it was inedible. Way to difficult to chew. Mashed potatoes were good. But really... I would skip it all just to have that amazing, tender, delectable fish again! If you like fish, order it. Just trust me on this one! Make sure Victor is making it!

Steak perfectly prepared served with tasty shrimp, and a good baked potato. The salad bar is included with the meal, and the service was pleasant, with no hurries. The Interior is standard with booths and no windows, and the entrance is on the side behind the lobby. Looks like the best place in town with a lounge. Saw pool tables and the back lounge area later-it isn't just the bar in front.

We stopped here for some dinner. I got steak that tasted like grey cardboard, had to drown it in steak sauce to get any flavor. The baked potato was under cooked. My wife had fried chicken, broke a tooth it was so hard. Our server had all of three couples to take care of and couldn't manage to get water refilled. The salad bar was gross, I was concerned about contracting salmonella. The soup was a choice of broccoli cream or onion sludge. Almost forty dollars for two people not including drinks. Very sad, this was our last try here.

Seriously??? This is the worst salad bar I have ever seen. I gave this place 2 chances on my annual trek cross country. Rotten lettuce both times, absolutely no healthy options. Salmon was salty and aweful, pasta was a complete joke. Over priced food.

So good! Had a bunch of bad experiences at diners along our road trip. A local recommend this hotel lounge/restaurant. We are pierced, tattooed western folk, and we were treated like everybody else.. with amazing kindness! Thankfull for the good experience and wholesome food!

my boyfriend and i stopped by here on our drive across the country. i got the grilled cheese on texas toast plus one trip to the soup and salad bar, while my boyfriend got the chicken basket. the grilled cheese was $8, which i thought was pretty pricey for literally slapping on kraft american cheese on previously frozen bread. kb's chicken basket had a lot of food, though, so he was happy. the trip to the soup and salad bar made my meal semi-worth it, even though there wasn't that much selection. bottom line: don't expect too much.

I made a "to go" order. The hostess was polite. She was not friendly, but not rude either. I got to my destination before I discovered they didn't bother putting my salad dressing in the bag. I returned to the restaurant, annoyed, and was given the dressing. The hostess apologized. By this time I am soaked because it was pouring outside. I ordered BBQ chicken. It was fantastic. The chicken was fresh, moist and not overcooked. The BBQ sauce was delicious. It came with corn on the cob, which I am sure was of the frozen variety. The cole slaw was ok. The baked beans were very good. $9.99 We ordered the Chipotle Chicken Salad. Much of the lettuce looked tired. Many pieces of lettuce were rotten. The chicken was dry. It was not fresh. The salad was a little spicy for my taste. $9.99

Went there for a steak. Never again, wasn't served as order. So tough we couldn't eat it. Waitress said she would take the steaks off the bill. So my husband and I ended up paying $31.00, for one salad two beers and a fried mushroom app. Charged my husband for soup and salad he didn't eat. I asked the waitress about it and she walked away and ran our card. Will never eat there again.

The worst service EVER!! Transcript of actual waitress job interview at Legal Tender. BOSS: Will you make all customers wait 10 minutes or more before taking orders, no matter how empty the dining room may be? OLD LADY: Yes. B: Will you then keep the order in your pocket for an additional five minutes? OL: Yes. B: Will you pour coffee onto the table, getting a few drops in the cup, and then make a poor attempt to mop it up? OL: Yes and yes. B: Will you throw bacon on the floor and across the table and then use your dirty hand to give one sad piece to children who don't know any better? OL: Yes. B: Will you force customers to retrieve their own water and refills? OL: Yes. B: Will you apologize for spilling coffee and splashing customer's shoes with permanent brown stains? OL: No. B: You're hired!!

The ribs were excellent ... very tasty and perfectly done, with a delicious barbeque sauce. Corn on the cob was soggy/watery and the cole slaw was warm and watery but tasted ok. I'd have added another star except for the god-awful "garlic bread." It was soft white sandwich bread, toasted and buttered on one side, without one hint of garlic flavor. : P The prime rib eaters in the group said their meat was excellent. It was the special that night and the serving size was huge.

We were traveling cross country and starving. This was the only restaurant we could spot close to the freeway in Evanston. The interior was nice but the menu prices were not! Cheeseburgers and things like fried fish baskets ranged from $11.99 to $14.99 standard fare dinner entrees were upwards of $16.99. Considering this place is part of a Best Western and in Wyoming we both felt this was absurd and walked out before we were even asked about drinks. If your dying for a sit down meal and don't care about being taken advantage of by all means enjoy. I certainly won't be partaking anytime soon!
