This place has wonderful Burgers and Ice Cream!! I had a bacon cheeseburger and it was great!

I stopped into Peter's on my way out of town during a cross-country road trip and I was more than pleased with the prices and offerings. This spot is a low-key atmosphere in which anyone would feel comfortable. I opted for a breakfast plate with eggs, toast and hash browns while my traveling companion opted for the breakfast burrito. Food came out really quickly, though we had a cinnamon roll there to keep us company during the wait. The food hit the spot! We highly recommend the breakfast burrito as it comes smothered in delicious cheese - and I'll be damned if that's not a delicious way to start the day! The cinnamon roll was light and fluffy with ample frosting to give it some weight. It was hard to decide on which fresh baked pastry to go with, but in the end, we're pleased with our decisions. Every staff member we interacted with was really fantastic. If you're ever in Cody, definitely add this to the list.

Locals love it! I used to go here all the time on my lunch breaks. Good soups and great sandwiches- they don't skimp on the meat. It's super casual...you are served on paper plates with plastic forks, the decor leaves little to be desired but it's a solid lunch place!

When you first walk in seems little odd with all the different tables, but wow the food was good! I had bacon burger it was so good!! Bacon was crispy l, that big in my book! My daughter had half cheeseburger and fries and hers was just as good. Great place to stop and have a bite to eat!

Okay food - really really dirty restaurant. Grossed me out. Also, all the food comes on paper plates... Take that as you will.

I'm afraid I did not have a good experience at breakfast. I ordered the omelette with sausage and veggies and Swiss cheese. It was quite bad. The veggies were totally mushy and not sautéed at all. They were also not mixed into the omelette, but just a mush in between the eggs. There was no sausage... Not clear why. Also, the cheese was laid on top and not fully melted, instead of inside and melted. I'll also add that the service was pretty slow for a relatively easy breakfast order. Overall, not a fan.

My BLT was great. Bacon cooked perfectly, just the right amount of mayo, and the roll was soft. The huckleberry shake, smaller size, was perfect. The onion rings weren't the best I've ever had but they were fine. The place has no atmosphere and the tables are sticky but the service is friendly and fast even with a long line.

After our debacle at QT's and not getting dessert. We made our way down here for an ice cream treat for my boys. The portions were great for the price, and my son declared the ice cream better than Maggie Moos (chain similar to cold stone that we used to frequent). If you are looking for a tasty treat, stop here!

Not quite sure where to go with this review. You order at the counter; that staff was very friendly. They have a varied menu - eggs, pancakes, omlettes, low carb, etc. for breakfast and also they have sandwiches, etc. Beverages are self serve, along with getting silverware. While having a casual environment is fine with me, including self-serve, the cafe was pretty much empty and we had a hard time finding a table that had been cleaned. Even the cleaned ones (that is, dishes taken from the table) were sticky and we had a hard time finding a place we were sitting down to eat. We finally ended up at a little one near the front door - we don't like being at the front door where people are always coming/going - but . .that's how it ended up. Would we return for a meal - no. Ice cream did look good, but . .we didn't want that for breakfast.

Peter's Cafe served great food. I love their hamburgers and ice cream. Definitely five stars!

such a sweet little shop! when you walk in, you smell soups, coffee and bacon. the best smell in the world when you're hungry. free refills on the drinks too, sweet bonus! haven't had the food or ice cream here but sure looks like a good place to grab a bite at a reasonable price. lovely

This is one stellar sammich (read: sandwich) shop! They also do breakfast (all day), burgers, ice cream and soups. The decor is kinda crazy, books at the tables and various carousel horses hanging from the ceiling. The staff here are nice and they have a good sense of humor. They were fast and listened to our order. They got our sammiches perfect. They came stacked with great meat and awesome veggies. The price is great for the service and the food. Their double sammiches are HUGE! My husband, who can eat a good amount of food, ordered a double and he wasn't even close to being able to finish it. I got the single and it was very filling. Their sammiches comes with a bag of potato chips. We decided to take home the rest of the sammiches and get a cool treat. My husband got a cone with strawberry cheesecake ice cream and I got a Moose Tracks Malted milkshake. Both were tasty and the serving size for these was generous. Peter's Cafe & Bakery is definitely my favorite for sammiches in Cody!

Great! Our 3 bison cheeseburgers were perfectly cooked (medium), and the sweet potato fries were light and crispy (not limp or soggy at all). The staff was pleasant. (Order and pay at the counter.)

Stopped because of Yelp recommendation and was not disappointed. Food was hot and fresh. Prices are reasonable.

We stopped in Cody for lunch before heading into Yellowstone during a road trip. First of all, Cody is an absolutely darling town! This place fit the bill for what we were looking for and offered a varied enough menu. Was it gourmet? Nope. Was it a decent sandwich for a decent price? You bet!

I liked Peter's. I liked it enough to have breakfast there every morning for a couple of weeks. This is one of those types of places where the locals sit around and shovel the sh*t all morning long. It is basic in that there is no service to speak of. You got to the register, order your meal, grab your own coffee and find a seat. I enjoyed their pancakes with eggs. Perfect way to get your morning going. Peter's doesn't try to be anything more than it is, a simple place with simple food and they do it well.

We went for breakfast which was excellent, but saw a sign for picnic lunches. The day before we were in the middle of nowhere in Yellowstone at lunch time, by the time we found food we were all starving. For under $9, peters gives you a sub, fruit, chips, a giant homemade cookie or brownie and a can of soda. And when we got hungry that day, we found a picnic table and ate! No lines, no crowds, and a fraction of the cost

The staff is friendly, and pretty cool. If you don't spend $10 and you want to use your debit or credit card, they'll charge you a .50 fee. No biggie I guess. They have a soup bar in the back. I've only been here once, but I ordered the sloppy joe with fries. So good! Good bread, tasty. It's a sandwich shop so, you can get subs, panninis, etc. Oh, and ice cream. Cute place to visit if you're in town .

Well, I guess I wasn't expecting much. I didn't really care that the table was a little dirty, they don't have a waitstaff or anything. I ordered an ice cream cone, it was yummy. You don't have much of a choice anyway since it's the only place selling hard ice cream in Cody. Just a heads up, a normal ice cream cone is more expensive at Peter's (~$3) than in Yellowstone Park ($2.50).

Good breakfast and lunch spot in Cody. Friendly staff and atmosphere and the sandwiches are great. I liked the Reuben, real deli style, piled high. My boys love the ice cream.
(4)Phil J.
I agree with Joe B. Nothing fancy but a very down-to-earth place to get good breakfast at a very reasonable price. Friendly locals seem to frequent it and the food was good! We would come back! I liked the plastic toys they have instead of order numbers :)

What fun! Feel like your parents or grandparents are running the place- lots of smiles and jibes. Excellent steak and cheese sub and cheeseburger. Hot fudge malt may be the best we ever had.
