This place was amazing! The charm was there as well as the friendliness of the staff was outstanding! The rooms are charming and the staff was better than any 5 Star Resort..... Anything less than a 5 star review tells me that folks may have expected this to be a modern Ritz....the turn of the century charm is what makes it so special.

**My review is for the afternoon tea only** I have gone to the afternoon tea at Nagle-Warren for many years and love it. The food is always great and the house specialty tea is wonderful. The Christmas tea is the best. The house is beautiful.

Beware! The innkeeper can switch out your room whenever he feels like it. The 2nd floor rooms looked nice but the 3rd floor needs some help.

I had a very disappointing stay. I came in late at night ready for bed and found that my room on the 2nd floor had not been cleaned/sheets changed from the previous guest. The next morning I mentioned this to the proprietor and the only thing that he said was that is too bad. There was no offer for a refund or even a discount. The breakfast was very small and to top it all off come Monday I find that they have double charged me $168.00 for my room. This might have been a nice place to stay a few years ago but now the service is terrible.

Such a disappointment. I could not tell you who the owners were or the names of any one of the staff. No one bothered to introduce themselves. Not at all the warm and welcoming treatment I expect at a B&B. Our room looked charming, but the sheets were thin and scratchy. Breakfast the next morning was unremarkable. The place certainly has potential, but I cannot recommend it based on my experience.

The husband and I stayed here while we were on our cross country journey to Portland, where we now live. After staying at low budget places the entire way we got here and decided to treat ourselves to something far less resembling a garbage dump. This place is top notch, friendly staff that were more than willing to show us the entire property and give suggestions of things we could see while we were in town. And the breakfast.... Gourmet if ever I've eaten one... perfectly cooked eggs with wild mushrooms and a sherry reduction. I felt like Robin Leach should come out and describe my newly rich and famous lifestyle. I would highly recommend this place to anyone making their way through the Cheyenne area.

This is a very nice downtown B&B. Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING except the Rodeo grounds) in Cheyenne seems to be within walking distance. The owner is gregarious and told us many interesting stories about the area and sent us to an outstanding restaurant - the Morris House Bistro. The room (Black Jack Pershing) was very cozy, with a fireplace and a rubber ducky for the tub. Quiet, with a nice little veranda. The landscaping is very pretty, and it wasn't far from the kitchen and the never-empty cookie jar (and milk!). Breakfast Saturday and Sunday were both delicious. Caution - if you are used to giant, butter-smothered and salty American breakfasts, you will be "disappointed". I was not - I like normal portions. Omelet, melon parfait, salmon, soufflé, ham... wonderful. We met some really nice folks around the breakfast table. The house cat took a liking to me and kept me company whenever I sat on the porch, which was a treat.

Amazing experience staying here for a business related trip to Cheyenne. The historic building sets the mood for a relaxed, comfortable visit that is very personal. Our room was near the back, but I forgot the name of the room. Everything was clean, warm, and welcoming. The tea time was a nice touch, and a gentleman who I believe was the owner sat with us to share afternoon tea and discuss the Mansion. Worth every penny and a must stay when in Cheyenne, if you must go to Cheyenne.

We are totally impressed with every aspect of this place from the decor and ambiance to the friendliness of the owner and staff to the wonderful breakfast. The amenities are thorough (hot tub, cookie jar and drink fridge, bathroom supplies, etc.) we can't imagine how a B&B could be better!

Wonderful environment in terms of the house itself. Charming afternoon tea, our room was so beautiful and unique as each room we saw was. It's comfortable beds and such, but I have one complaint. The woman who helped us to the room and with tea was very sweet, but the man working here, I believe the owner, was extremely unhelpful. We were enjoying our experience here, and I took my iPad around taking pics of the place to post for family back home, but when we got to the room and tried to connect to the 'free wi-fi' we found we couldn't. My husband went and asked for help, he came back unsucessful. So the owner passed by our back door and we asked him to help us connect again, and he blew my husband off. So I called to see if we could resolve the problem and he basically refused to do anything to fix their Internet. From our conversation it was obvious he knew nothing about it and wouldn't even let my husband (who works on computers for a living) help find out what the issue was. So it soured the experience a bit. Unfortunate, but if you don't mind not having access to the Internet for work or otherwise, everything else was fantastic.

Admittedly this is my first B&B experience, but I am pretty sure it has ruined it for any other B&B's I will stay in. First - there is nothing to do in Cheyenne. Period. The mansion is on the backside of an Arby's parking lot but you can park there without fear. This is not an expansive acreage set up. Tiny yard and hidden garden. Room - Sarah and James Room (not 100% sure). Visit date - July 16, 2010 This place is awesome for a couple of reasons: We arrived late and our key was in an envelope taped to the front door, a little odd and a tad scary but okay. We had full run of the place and no one was there when we arrived. It is decorated in period pieces from ceiling to floor. Full of creaking floors, just really neat and cool. My fiance and I went into every room that did not appear occupied. It was an entire experience in itself. We ended up on the top floor. I wanted the six foot claw foot tub - my fiance is 6'5" and really wanted to take a bath like a normal person, so this was actually the draw to the place. Note - if you are tall be careful when going upstairs - he cracked his head more than once. Stairs are narrow. We took photos everywhere and even went into the basement to the wine room - very steep stairs. Not really cons but to be noted: Our room was one of the smallest if not smallest - not a big deal. The bathroom is almost the size of the room and you realize that you are in what was either another room or closet in the bathroom because there is a door behind the vanity and you can see the light from the hallway under the door in this room. There is a clear plastic vent cover over the air conditioner vent. This is attached to the ceiling and cannot be moved - really wished I could. They must know it gets warm in there because there was a small blue plastic fan in the window - kind of took away from the feel. Should buy one of those old school looking fans to make it not so obvious. It did get warm in there. There is no way to keep the windows open without wedging something under the frame. The tub is great as a tub and horrific as a shower. I got in the shower first so that he could soak and enjoy it. I have never had a more painful shower in my life. The shower is designed in that old school hook and the frame encircles overhead to hold the curtain. The shower head is not adjustable and I think I had an exfoliation that went horribly wrong! It felt like needles. Seriously. Let us not forget that the tub is directly under the vent so the imovable shower curtain hits the air flow and you spend your time smacking the curtain back while trying not to cry from the water needles scraping off your tender parts and flesh. My fiance thought I was being over the top until I heard him scream when he used the shower. Told you. Bed - comfortable Free, water, juice and cookies. Questionable breakfast - We were the only ones at the large pre-set table in the morning. We were served tea, orange french toast, bacon, strawberries and cream. All made by a woman that comes in to cook for the place. Very nice woman. We didn't want to hurt her feelings but the orange sauce for the toast was awful beyond description. It tasted like bile and burned the back of your throat. My fiance thought it tasted like Donald Duck orange juice concentrate without the sugar. He ate all of his and most of mine so as not to hurt her feelings. It truly was bad. The bacon was thick and great. Dinner - we ate at a local burger type place within walking distance of the mansion and it was very good. Unfortunately I don't remember the name. Cross the street and it is on the right side. Despite the few scary things, this place is great and worth the visit. Some of our best memories of his birthday weekend.
