Busy store, and they have lots of items, but today was the last straw for me in buying any salad from the deli! For a one pound container of cucumber and tomato salad with oil dressing they want $7 a pound! And for the broccoli salad they want $8 a pound! On top of that, the workers do not pack that salad in the container, and you are getting a lot less than a pound when you order. This is an extreme cost for vegetable salads. You can buy your own vegetables and make this salad for half of what they are charging. I bought the 8 piece fried chicken for $8...why would I want to pay $7 or $8 for a small container of salad? King Soopers is ripping people off in the deli with these exorbitant prices. I understand inflation is here, but "vegetable" salad made of cucumbers and tomatoes and oil is not expensive to make.

Best grocery store in Cheyenne and one of the busiest! Open 24 hours. Big selection of items. Best looking produce in town! Great location too!

Overall, I'm a fan of King Soopers. Good experiences with produce, deli counter, fish counter, the food in general, service, etc. However, the pharmacy can be a bit hit and miss. Some of the staff are great - others seem to have forgotten about HIPAA, and find it okay to talk loudly about the medications I (and others) are taking. I've also had problems with calling in a refill, and arriving 2 hours later, to find out that they still haven't gotten around to filling it (mind you, the specific prescription I was having refilled is already packaged and just needs to be dispensed - no pill counting or formulating...)

It's hard to want to come here when there's fifty girl scouts outside the front door accosting you as you try to walk in for a few groceries. Then, as you walk out, there's always 2-5 employees standing RIGHT by the exit blowing cigarette smoke into your face. Hey, Soopers! Maybe give your employees a smoking area in the BACK?! I feel like I'm giving myself lung cancer just to stop in for some fruit and chicken.

I am writing specifically about the King Soopers Deli counter. It is the best in town in fact the only good one in town. Now is is not the equal of the ones you see in Chicago , or New York City but for a Wyoming Deli it is very good. The only Place in town you can get decent rare roast beef for sandwiches. The real treasure is they feature Chester's Chicken. not only is it much, much cheaper then KFC but it is better. You can get an 8 piece meal for $8.99, at KFC an 8 piece meal is nearly $20 dollars. Unlike Original Recipe KFC Chester's Chicken crispy crust is excellent cold. Cheerful service. The rest of the store is the place to go in Cheyenne for groceries.

Updated review. KS has completed its rennovations. I can see now the look the store is going for is "Whole Foods Cool" or "Eco Friendly". It is still too muted for my taste, and, of course, it is NOT Whole Foods. The aisle and display arrangements have created a more crowded look and resulted in little customer traffic jams. (It's kinda fun to test your cart driving skills, though.) However, that said: in the deli, although the increased amount of high fat, suspicious looking chicken strips in salads, lots of calories (I saw a pre-wrapped burrito in one of the new refrigerator cases around the deli that had a six figure calorie count. LOL) is amazing, the store has also -- as far as I can tell -- made a real effort to increase the variety of natural and vegetarian choices in many sections, particularly frozen foods. The added varieties of gardein are much appreciated (strange they carry the new "sliders" but not the frozen burgers that recently received a best of vegetarian food award) if still not complete, Cedar Lane egg white omelettes are available, as well as an expanded choice of other flavors from that line. Many more gluten free (and expensive) and "natural" frozen burritos. Odd decisions as to where the frozen food items are placed -- especially burritos -- you'll see what I mean if you look. Fresh produce selections are about the same as previously when it comes to organic. There is a sushi bar I can't comment on because I don't like the stuff. There are a lot more cupcakes if that's what turns you on. Prices are still up and rising. Best grocery in Cheyenne.
