I've heard good things about this restaurant. So i decided to try it exceeded my expectations. You seat yourself which is unusal but a unique touch. Started out with complimentary chips and salsa both tasted homemade. Just the right amount of salt on the chips. Salsa was very flavorful and addicting to eat. I had the chicken tinga burrito smothered in green chile. Topped with lettuce tomato and pico de gallo. Get a choice of black or refried beans for inside of the burrito. I chose the black beans. Chicken was mouthwatering so tender and juicy. Got better with every bite. I will definitely be coming back to try a new delicious dish.

J's Taco bistro is a good alternative to fast food places. The food was served quickly and was fresh, plentiful and tasty. The salsa that came with the complimentary chips was tangy and zesty. my meal consisted of the grilled chicken tacos. Although messy and hard to eat, since when you bit into the taco it crumbled all over your plate, They flavors were all there. The service was quick and friendly and the establishment was clean, light and airy with lots of windows letting in natural sunlight.

Don't understand the bad reviews; we had a great experience! Started with a cold beer and the chips and salsa were free and delicious. Ordered the queso con chorizo and it was awesome. Wife got the shrimp and fish tacos and both were superb. She's found her new favorite place for fish tacos (she's tried them everywhere)! I got the carnitas tacos and they were tender and tasty. The service was great and our bill was under $35--we ate plenty of food and had leftovers to take home so I'm not sure why other people consider this expensive! We will definitely return!

I had dinner tonight at J's. Let me say my first impression was how clean and fresh smelling it was as you walked in. This raised my hopes for a good meal immediately. I travel quite a bit for work and I refuse to eat in a restaurant that is not clean. Kudos to the staff for a great job. The staff was friendly helpful and attentive. My waitress recommended the Shrimp or Mahi Mahi tacos. They even allow you to mix taco dishes. Allowing me to try both dishes. The shrimp taco is one of the best I have had in a very long time. Fresh fresh fresh. The Mahi Mahi taco had a lightly breaded crust over flakey fresh fish. It to was wonderful. The one item that I will mention and the reason for only 4 stars on my review. I love green chili and can't get enough. The green chili had a definite metallic after taste. Perhaps boiling fresh tomatoes and chopping them for the chili would be a alternative. I will be thinking on my next road trip through Wyoming that Cheyenne offers more than just a place to stop for gas! Good eats too.

Man, the family that brought you Pizzaria Venti and 2 Doors Down, does it again! The food is great, the staff is friendly and attentive, and it is super clean! I had a Mahi Mahi taco, so fresh and tastey. Most Mexican restaurants leave a lot to be desired when it comes to the beans and rice, not these guys. The refried beans tasted homemade, like my mom makes and the rice was moist and fluffy. The chips and salsa are extra, but they are worth it. Good place!

The food was good but a bit expensive. I would go again if others wanted to go however it won't be on my frequent dinner list.

Over priced and not good. My husband had the green chili and only ate a few bites. The tacos were not even Taco John quality and way over priced. The slaw was too spicy and the refried beans and rice were gross looking. We brought out of town guests and sorry we chose to try something we hadn't tried that this was so bad. Will not be back!!

Fairly expensive Mexican food which doesn't live up to the price tag. With a ton of other mexican alternatives available in town, there is not a compelling reason to come here. My wife and I had the chimichangas which were just "OK" but nothing much more special than fast food. If you want chips and salsa be prepared to shell out $4 more....really?

Absolutely excellent food! Mexican with a twist, just what Cheyenne needed. A wonderful environment, family friendly, as well as a great place to hangout with friends on a Friday night to enjoy a premium margarita! Awesome service and super friendly staff. Defientley will be back soon!

Enjoyed checking out J's Taco Bistro in Downtown Cheyenne. The place was busy for a Tuesday night. My husband and I sat at the bar, since there wasn't much seating available. My husband got a Coors Lite and I got a Strawberry Margarita. The margarita was delicious! We ended up ordering Grilled Chicken Tacos and Shrimp Tacos. The food was delicious! The only complaint we have is the service was slow. I know they were very busy, but to wait over 30 minutes for food is not right..especially for tacos. They are a new place and there's definitely room for improvement. However, I do recommend the place and would definitely go there again.

So overall it was ok. The food is over priced but the good stuff is great and the bad stuff is bad. The mahi tacos were great. The watermelon Pico de gallo was different, but was great with the taco. The beans that come with it were ok, as for the rice it just had no flavor. Being Mexican I expected Mexican rice going into a Mexican place, all I got was red flavorless rice. For appetizers we had queso con chorizo which was very good, so good that I'd probably order it again. We also ordered taquitos. They came with a huge dollop of guac. I was expecting greatness but was disappointed because the meat was so dry. Sad to say this but they would have been better off selling the frozen ones you bake or fry. It's worth a try if your looking for good fish tacos and the queso dip. As for the rest It's to be determined.

We went to J's Taco Bistro last night, and was great. The chipolte aoli tacos were fantastic! We will definitely will be back. Don't forget the sopapillas.

A bit pricey but you do get good portions. The food was not as good as it looked on the plate or pictures.

Good, good ahi tuna tacos. Loved the guacamole. Amazing refried beans. I will be back!

Pricey... $11 for 3 tacos. Not substantially better than any other place in town. Stick to Guadalajara or Tortilla Factory

My girlfriend and I came here after finding out the previous restaurant moved down two blocks. The former place was a great little pizza restaurant and they kept the ordering process the same. So basically you order and then sit down. A little different but the staff still takes care of you. The inside is very clean, has a neat little bar with a pergola and the margaritas are great. They offer rocks or slush. We got rocks and it was a good mix of alcohol and flavors. My girlfriend got the beef burrito and I got beef tacos. They both came rice and refried beans. She loved her meal, as did I. The produce was fresh and it wasn't the usual American version of Mexican food....aka smothered in processed cheese. If I had one thing to change, I would have preferred that the burger was seasoned more. We also got a starter of guacamole which was pretty solid. It did have cream cheese in it which hurts the $6 value a bit, but it did come with some great chips. As I was writing this review, the owner Jerry came by just to thank us for coming in. He talked to us for about two minutes. Great guy. His mom is the greeter and she greets everyone with a smile and a big welcome. We will be back to try the other items.

Upon hearing about a new restaurant in town, I got very excited. Especially knowing they specialized in tacos. However, my experience was rather disappointing. I could understand charging $10 for a few tacos if the ingredients were decent...or subpar.. This was not the case. Chipotle makes better tacos. Clearly the most mediocre quality ingredients are used to turn a quick profit. The place wreaked of fish, which is sorta understandable when you're serving fish tacos, however the smell was more akin to that of a rotting fish. Maybe they were fermenting fish sauce in the back? I Dunno. I do know that I won't be returning any time soon. Poor service as well. Did not receive my beer had to ask for it as the food was coming out. And I suppose that because I asked for it the waitress thought I was a jerk thus never returning to our table. Would give zero stars if possible, but I suppose one will suffice for the cold beer.
