Best pizza I've ever had! Went to Cheyenne for our nieces volleyball game. They wanted pizza after and the "Hut" didn't sound good. We had a Sicilian "works" and a thin pepperoni. The Sicilian was at least a inch thick. Cooked to perfection. The crust was awesome. Try it and you will love it. the service was great, very friendly. The place was clean.

We usually get a good pizza here, but our last order wasn't cooked all the way through. We ordered 2 Sicilian pizzas to go, got them home and took a few bites. Needless to say the sauce was still cold on the pizza and the cheese wasn't melted all the way. Overall a huge disappointment for spending $54 on pizza. We won't be back anytime soon...

Summary: Don't expect to come here for the service. If you're gonna come here, you're better off ordering the Sicilian over the stuffed. Detailed review: My indecisive family walked into the pizzeria, starving and excited to gorge on a few slices. Looking at the menu we were deciphering and overanalyzing the menu. Meanwhile, I'm hoping for some suggestions, or any response from the man leaning behind the counter. Instead he offered no help unless we asked him a question, while chuckling at how long we took to order. I would have left right there if it wasn't for my ravenous appetite and my father's gung-ho spirit. After ordering a meat lovers stuffed pizza and a few drinks with no ETA on our pizza arrival, we picked one of the many available tables to sit at. While we wait, I stared at the mismatched decor in the building. A "eat at joes" clock here, bamboo there, tile art pieces and so on. After a reasonable 25 minutes or so, our order was announced and I walked over and carried the pizza to the table myself. The size of the pizza looked impressive but the thickness was lacking. I was the only one at the table who dared to eat without a fork and knife. The pizza dripped with grease, but was satisfying. The crust had a nice outer crunch but had a center that was too soft for my taste. My mother found the pepperoni to be too salty, I found it to be enjoyable. Overall though, I would pick a Chicago stuffed Papa Murphy's slice over this any day.

Super friendly staff. The pizza was delicious. The sicilian was amazing also. It's definitely NY style pizza. I will be back!!

Best NY pizza I've had in a 200 mile radius. The cheese steak with mushrooms and the special sub are fantastic as well. One thing of note, the last time I was there, it says under new ownership. Not sure if it affects anything but this is not the ownership that has made Mondellos and Parkway famous in Cheyenne. You may be safer eating at the location on Stillwater but I can't say anything bad necessarily about the new ownership in this particular location. Looks like they took over in the last few months.

We're from out of town and were looking for a place to have lunch. After reading the reviews we decided to try this place. So glad we did. We ordered a pizza and a family calzone. Both were very tasty. The crust is thin and crispy. I recommend this place for their pizza.

Phenomenal Italian and authentic NY pizza. You won't be disappointed in the food.

YUMMY! Ok, I did not expect to find such great pizza in Cheyenne. We are on a big road trip and so far YELP has steered us right 100% of the time. It says New York Pizza style and it's right on the money. If your in the mood for pizza this is a must.

Sign outside says new ownership and, since this was my first visit, I have no basis for comparison. But, my slice of pepperoni pizza was a good size and it and the pepperoni roll were tasty. Bill for these 2 items plus a can soft drink was $8. Not far from the price of a pizza buffet but a tasty supper no less. Parking is tricky as this small restaurant is located in downtown Cheyenne. Probably not a great choice for a group of any size (more than 8).

People were friendly. Pizza was so-so. I ordered a slice of the supreme and then some sort of stuffed breadstick. The sauce tasted like tomato sauce or paste, not much seasoning to It wasn't bad, but I don't think I'll go back next time I am in town.

I thought since you we're located in the heart of downtown Cheyenne close to all the government buildings and places where people work during the week that you'd truly be open on Monday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. like it says you are on Google maps. But no, you were closed on Monday at 2:00 in the afternoon. I drove 90 miles just to eat New York style pizza, too. :(

Is this place closed? We tried to go here for lunch one day, but the restaurant was locked up and dark. Looked like things were still out, but their hours said 11am opening on Mondays and there was no sign on the door...

We stopped here on a Saturday night and were happy to find a place we could grab a quick meal for our family. We were not disappointed. You can order by the slice or a whole pizza. We went the slice route from the slices they had sitting out. The pepperoni was just as good as any NY pizza place. We also had a couple slices of the works and thought it was great. Small place, 50 people is capacity, but that adds to the charm and tables clear quickly when folks order by the slice.

As soon as I walked in, the guy behind the counter was a bit overexcited to get my order and I felt pressured to hurry when I hadn't even had 2 seconds to look over the menu. Easy there buddy! He was friendly though. I ordered a large 2 topping pizza. It was ready in about 10 minutes. They have a good New York style crust. The cheese was very stringy so I'm guessing it was pure mozzarella. The toppings were generous. The only thing missing was enough sauce. It was really like eating bread and cheese. I suggest ordering some extra sauce, which I couldnt do as I took my pizza to go.

Awesome Gem. Was stuck in Cheyenne and they delivered, pizza was awesome. When I order pizza at a hotel I have a couple he rest usually goes in the trash tis one made it back to care and lasted 2 more days, had to finish it, the Sicilian pizza was delicious.

Joe's Steak sandwiches are great. The Joe's special with freshly cooked steak, capicola, melted cheese and jalapeno chill's is a chili-head's delight, The Pizza Steak is great, the mushroom, or green pepper sandwiches are fantastic, but the manna from heaven is the hoagie sandwich, freshly cooked steak, melted cheese, after the hot stuff goes into the roll Joe adds lettuce, onions, tomatoes, Jalapeno chiles,. and a dash of sea salt; Yum-ma-Goochy! It is so hard to make a choice between the fantastic pies, and the steak sandwiches. I could do with more hard choices like this.

What do you do when you are in Cheyenne WY and need to feed hordes of hungry people? You send someone to Mondello with instructions to buy five LARGE pizzas. The crust is perfect, the topping delicious, and based on the feedback from the starving hordes...well there are no leftovers.

After moving to Cheyenne from a predominantly Italian city, I became excited when I learned of L'osteria Mondello Italian Restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the food as well as the atmosphere. I went around 11 in the morning and found my order was promptly ready for me soon after I ordered it. (If your in a hurry pay with cash, it will speed things up) The banter with the guys making the food was great. I will definitely be going back.

Was in town for an event over the weekend. Staying in a hotel, decided to call out for a pizza to be delivered. Decided to choose this establishment. Now being from Chicago I consider myself a connoisseur of good quality pizza. After living out in this area, I've come to realize not all pizza places have good pizza. So I have come to appreciate whenever I find a place that does. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY "THIS IS ONE FANTASTIC PIZZA PIE. " I was quite impressed and so was my wife. The dough has a great flavor and the sauce as well. As opposed to some places that just use poor quality flour and plain tomato sauce. Every time I come back I will frequent this place.

Found Mondello's on Yelp! while traveling to Cheyenne for business. My wife and I loved it! It lives up to the hype on Yelp! for sure... We live four hours away from Cheyenne but I could be tempted to get in the truck and make the trip just to eat that pizza... thank you Mondello's for helping Cheyenne be a more enjoyable trip!

I was passing through Cheyenne on the way across the country from Chicago. I walked around the downtown area for about a half hour looking for a place to grab a bite on a Sat, around 8pm. I saw Mondello and immediately decided that is where I'd be dining. As a general rule, I find that the more basic ans simple the pizzeria looks, the better their pies taste. I ordered a slice of Sicilian with the works and as it was getting toasty and melty again in their pizza oven, I chatted with what seemed to be an owner or at least a manager. He told me he was from NY, and as he was sporting some Mets gear, maybe a Brooklyn native. After we chatted for a few min, he slid me a slice of the thin crust for free. They were closing in a half hour and it looked like they had quite a few slices leftover, but what a great move. Anyway, back to the most important part, the pizza. The thin crust was a little too floppy to fold in half and nosh like a classic NY slice. I had to fold the point to the middle then the whole thing in half, but it was quite tasty. The Sicilian was out of this world! Nice crisp crust with a hint of chewiness just under the sauce and cheese and the toppings were piled high. The sauce was very nice, herby with a bit of sweetness. This place is worth stopping in for a slice, but the rest of their menu looks great too; subs, calzones and strombolis. If you live in or around Cheyenne or are just here for a short time, stop in and enjoy a slice!

A buddy & I were up in Cheyenne for work and, we were going to the Capitol Grill....but arrived 3 minutes before they were closing up for lunch...on a whim we saw this place across the street and decided to try it out. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. We walked into see a foreign soccer match on TV and a guy behind the counter with a thick accent (I'm guessing Italian/Brooklyn??) That's usually a good sing in a pizza joint. I had a slice of pepperoni and a pepperoni pizza roll. Both good, but the pizza roll was phenomenal, and the dipping sauce tasted like liquid-Italian sausage. (And I mean that in the BEST possible way...mmm mmm) I like them so much I bought a few to go to share with my wife for dinner. It was a little pricey, but that seems to be the case anywhere these days. I'd eat there again. FYI they have the east coast style pizza here, which I love. Very thin, foldable slices with more cheese than sauce. If you don't like that style of pizza this might not be the place for you, but for the rest of us...it's good eatin'!

The only authentic East-Coast style pizza joint I've encountered after living in Wyoming for 15 years. We've become semi-regulars here for their pies, which have a great crust and are reasonably priced. It's a family-owned place and the owners are originally from south Jersey and have the accents to match. The decor is exactly what you'd expect for a mom and pop pizza place. There's a choice of pizza by the slice, excellent breadsticks and real meatball and chicken parm sandwiches on the menu. Skip Pizzaria Venti around the corner and come here for authentic slices, pies and sandwiches.

Great pizza - found this on yelp when we were en route from vacation in Yellowstone. Great downtown location and the people were great! Showed the owner the Yelp site and he upgraded my large to a xlarge pizza for free! Definitely recommend if you are tired of the "chain" pizza places.

Well you know I've been coming to Cheyenne for many years on a regular basis and I look forward to Mondellos pizza (Dell Range Blvd). And I stay at a hotel on the east side of town so, I thought I would get the same pizza on this side of town from the downtown pizzeria well I was surprised when it showed up 1 1/2 hour later the pizza was hot and the driver did apologize but when I looked at it it reminded me of a take n bake pizza . It was a real thick crust kind of chewy instead of a crunchy doe like they pulled it out of the oven to early. Way,Way to much cheese. I'm very disappointed and the other night I ordered a Philly cheese steak it came hot it looked good but their was more bread then meat. And folks I don't like to complain but If I wanted a pizza like this I could have ordered it from any of the other pizza joints. I go to Mondellos because its more authentic then all the rest but if you don't care then stop downtown if you want real Italian style pizza go to the one on Dell range. I know I won't go downtown anymore.

I love the Mondello's by the mall so I wanted to try the one downtown. I was not disappointed. It's good, classic and fast pizza. The atmosphere is nice, minus the TV's(I just don't believe in watching TV when you eat out). The staff is nice and the food is a good price. I usually have their pizza with broccoli and it's awesome and large. Their salads are simple iceberg lettuce with cumbers and tomatoes, nothing fancy but good.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country.
