I love this place! The wonder bar is MY bar. It is great. Smoke free and most of the time there are not all those "tap-out tee shirt douche bag" guys like at EVERY other bar in Casper. Wednesday nights are the best as they have Chad Lore playing. Come in, get beer and wings and be happy! The only downer is that I think this bar is owned by the same guy who owns the "cowboys" strip club and I hate promoting that kind of bull in such a nice place as Casper.

So I was on a road trip this summer and went down to downtown Casper as a stop on the road. I really think Downtown Casper is cute and quaint. Anyway I wanted something to drink and had a hard time to decide if I wanted chai tea or go to the Wonder Bar and see what they had for beer. I saw that they had their own little brewery at the window so I was hooked and had to go try it. I ordered a wheat beer and to tell you the truth I didn't really get much of a buzz on it and it did not have much of a multitextured taste like I am used to. Of course I come from the Colorado Front Range where microbreweries are a pretty serious industry down there. So this place has very stiff competition to go up against.

Went for lunch with a friend. It was very empty. Orered a pepsi while I waited for my friend it never came. My friend arrived and I had to reorder it twice! I ordered a monty cristo my friend ordered a burger. She said her burger was okay...however the monty cristo is suppose to be a french toast like batter dipped fried sandwich (I have had them before but also according to their description). It was basically all done on the grill top they made french toast and basically made a grilled cheese out of it...that is NOT what the menu stated. The worst part was that it took 45 min to get our food and we were the only ones there at that time. The chips that came with it were okay but that had no seasoning what so ever on them. I was hoping lunch would be better than when I had gone last time....STILL SUCKS
(1)Bob P.
Great wait staff and bartenders, excellent pub grub, and a wide selection of alcohol. They brew three beers onsite and of the three I recommend the red. I've been here twice and really enjoyed it.
(5)Terence F.
First off let me start by saying i have given this place several chances and it never fails to disappoint. Unless your a bar regular at the bar or good friends with the staff don't expect to get more then one drink or your food in less then an hour. Sub par food and prices through the roof. Don't waste you time or money.
(1)Seth F.
The food was awful, as was the service. Three stars only because they make their own beer. Notice, I didn't say it was good beer...
(3)Phil L.
Good place to eat, well maintained older building with marvelous old photographs hanging on the walls. Good food at fair prices.
(4)Mike F.
Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The black ale was excellent. The potato skins were huge and tasty. My bacon cheeseburger and fries were great!
(4)Charles P.
The positive. Based on my two (happy hour) bar items the food is a (3.5). The nachos were good. The wings were good. They have good food that I would eat. Not amazing but good. The bartender (James) was very nice, helpful and eager to tell me about the bar that he is proud of. Great employee and bartender. He is a Keeper! The bar is beautiful, the drinks are reasonable. The beer is pretty damn good. (Brewmaster is really masterful. The negative. 1.Based on me over-hearing conversations I know for a fact they need to fire the loud, cussing, boisterous brown haired guy with a scar on his lip. He spent his time smoking, bitching, and being disrespectful ect. He is a toxic person who is angry about his job and as a business owner I would get rid of him ASAP or he will pollute the water. 2.Management (owner)? spent 20 minutes questioning the lead bartender (James) about a $28 discrepancy in the till. He explained it well and because she brought her business to the bar I could hear both sides of the conversation. In many cases management doing this kind of thing is as bad as that toxic employee they need to fire. This proves that they don't know how to manage effectively and it shows. James single handedly earned you 1.5 stars the beer earned you a star. The four earned you 0.5 star And the location and ambience earned you a star. If you lose James and move to a less awesome spot you would transform Into a two star dive. Get it together Wonder Bar or you will quickly loose good staff who make you money and you will go down the pooper with the rest.

I was really excited to try the local beer. But sighs servers put glass to the spout which is a BIG no in sanitation and proper beer pouring techniques! (Especially if you are dedicated to craft beer) I did enjoy the atmosphere and the local bands playing but I came along way JUST for the beer...
(2)Phil C.
This place is between 3-4 stars, the food decent, beer can be very good and plenty of options on tap. On the other hand service seemed chaotic though well intentioned. I had a few local beers (yum) and an interesting sounding burger. It was decent but a bit overcooked. I guess it could be more than it is on the other hand a brew pub with a decent salad bar... Id return. Just needs to tighten up a few things for a move up the ladder in stars.
(3)Kristen C.
Clearly a bar so probably not the best choice for a weekday late lunch. The atmosphere was cool, the salad was sub-par, and the service was slow.
(3)Kent M.
Our first time here. Having dinner of Rueben Burger Sandwich and housemade Red beer. Beer made fresh is my fav though I am really not a beer conissieur. Great service. Nice place decor. Great chow we just had.
(4)Chris T.
So to start I finally listened to my wife. Go with American food and watch Wyoming do ok. Well she was right, this place did alright by me tonight-and the beer was good. I started with the BBQ burger, it was great. Simple and tasty, nothing in expected and done well. The chips were apparently a specialty of the place and they were decent. Fries were pretty standard. Beer selection was great! All in all pretty good meal.
(3)Helen C.
Pro: they have a vegetarian burger. Con: it's a straight from the freezer Gardenburger. Pro: they will top your burger with just about anything under the sun, so eating an otherwise tasteless veggie burger isn't as bad as it could be. Con: our bartender/server was not too familiar with normally-standard drinks/terminology (e.g. Neat = no ice, not a type of glass). Food, drinks, and service were mediocre, but enjoyed the historical building aspect.
(2)Danny B.
I enjoyed the dining room which quiet and clean. We started out with a drink then we had to wait quite a time to get waited on. We finally ordered. It really did not take long to get our order. The wife's turkey sandwich was good she said . My steak was very nice size and a large baked potato. The draw back was that nice looking steak was tasteless. So sad.
(3)Andrew K.
Unlimited soup/salad bar and an excellent sub with homemade potato chips... all for only $8. Clean/spacious environment with a rustic touch. Great service.
(4)Joe B.
Food was tasty, beer was tasty. Not a single complaint except the fries...but who cares about those? Pretty good.
(4)Brittany N.
I really enjoyed this place!!! The Wonder Burger was HUGE and super flavorful, fish tacos were good, I got the South of the border app and it was a LARGE portion! Its a 3 tier plate with a full serving of quesadillas and nachos with half order of wings and poppers. I wish they didn't put liquid cheese on the nachos but they were still good. I dig the laid back atmosphere!!! Great Place to just come and hang out, drink a beer and listen to good music.
(4)Evan G.
Came with a group of 7, the waitress was terrible and rude and made the whole experience terrible. Drinks weren't as good as they used to be when we would come here in the past.
(2)M K.
Four us went to Wonderbar for lunch and got there about 12:15 and waitress took our drink orders pretty soon after we sat down. We waited 10-15 minutes before she brought our drinks and left before we could order food. Realizing how slow the waitress was coming back, we settled for the salad bar and 1/2 BLT listed on the back of the menu and helped ourselves to the salad bar, taking turns so as to not miss her when/if she returned take our order for the 1/2 sandwiches. We were promised refilled drinks a couple of times but only kept thirstily waiting. When our sandwiches finally surface at one o'clock, the single small slice of tomato and famine sized portions of lettuce left a lot to be desired. I'm giving it two stars only because they do have a good salad bar, but there are enough salad bars in Casper that I won't be returning.
(2)Rich L.
Local craft beer was ok they had trouble filling my 1/2 gal growlers but oh well . this aint oregon
(4)Billy B.
I read a good review on Google of The World Famous Wonder Bar, but that review was misleading. My server gave me attention soon after I entered the room. She was charming an attentive for the most part. I ordered the sirlon dinner with new or red potatoe masher. It has a salad and soup bar. The salad bar was adequate and the soup was frightening. It took a while for the food to arrive. I was served luke-warm masher and the steak was cooked correctly. The October Fest Beer and the steak were good. The salad bar wasn't that fresh but it still tasted good. The service was average. She was a sweet girl. She offered to microwave the potatoes: very déclassé and the wrong solution for the situation. The presentation was horrible! No imagination. You'll see in the photo. This is better as a bar not a bistro.
(1)Ken L.
Always great food and service. I stop every time I'm in Casper and am consistently surprised at the low $$ on the bill when I leave.
(5)Eddie M.
Great burger and fresh chips. Good service at the bar! The atmosphere is nice and staff was friendly. I will definitely eat here again.
(4)Squid1986 ..
Visiting from Phoenix, AZ, and for two days in a row had lunch here, both meals were delicious, and I really liked the building, lots of charm and character. If I lived in Casper, this would be my hangout.
(5)Mark S.
Note: This review is for the beer and atmosphere only. We came in to Casper late at night, and this seemed like the only non-generic option in town. It's right on the main street in town, which can be best described as a small cowboy town. I was pleasantly surprised to see someone in the area making their own beer, so we popped in for a bit. The place was packed with people watching the World Series, and everyone was generally having a good time. The beer was pretty good, as the Nut Brown and Porter stuck out as the best. Overall a good place to come and get a decent beer for a good price.
(4)Shane C.
I have been a regular at the WB for years, not once or twice but hundreds of times, and today was most likely the last time. As far as night life goes, Wednesday at 9:00pm is the only time i would ever go to this bar ever again ( Chad Lore Plays and is very entertaining). Every burger I have ever had here seems like they put it in a dehydrator. Service is incredibly shotty, so many times my server shows up once and is never to be seen again, the only person there that I have been pleased with is Vanessa. Today we were handed a menu that was incredibly misleading. At the top was printed "Happy hour specials" and printed smaller under that was a time frame with drink specials, below that in the same large print as happy hour was "Daily Specials" no time frame was posted with the daily specials menu so we assumed that it was an all day deal, we were so very wrong. After we got our ticket with the deals not applied we asked to talk to the manger. He said that these specials were only for the happy hour time frame even though they seemed to be under a different section on the menu. The manger blamed the company that printed the menu saying " the menu's were printed wrong". What company would accept a menu that was printed wrong, let alone put them out for their customers to order off of. The beer they brew can range from being an okay brew to a good beer. Overall though their food is at best mediocre if not terrible.
(1)C P.
Have been here several times and have had great experience each time. Nice pub atmosphere with a lot of restaurant style seating as well. Can get pretty busy so there is often a wait at peak times. Burgers are very good as are the fish and chips. Staff are friendly and attentive.
(4)Beverly L.
I'm a traveling nurse and in Casper for 3 months. I went to the Wonder Bar for a late lunch. There were a few people in the place. Waitress was very nice. I ordered a Pepsi and it had 2 of the small mixed drink straws in it, which was a little annoying. I ordered the Reuben. It tasted ok but for the price I expected a lot more. It had 3 thin pieces of corned beef on it with way too much kraut. Bread was soggy. The chips that were cooked done were good and crispy with a good flavor. About half of the chips were soggy. Cool looking place with a lot of history from what I've read. I'll probably go back to try out a burger or maybe on a weekend night. I won't be ordered the Reuben again though.
(2)Lori T.
My niece suggested having dinner here our last night in Casper Wyoming visiting family. I really enjoyed the pizza it was fantastic. I'm giving 3 stars because the salad bar was just ok.
(3)Josh d.
Really, even while giving this place a rating of 3, as often as I come here, and as much money as I spend here, I feel like it should be a 4 or 5. I really just can not find myself rating it higher. The atmosphere is meh, I've heard complaints about the service, but I rarely get poor service in comparison to many of the other bars in town. But why do I keep coming back here, instead of the other bars? Well... Smoke free, fooseball table, centrally located, and can usually find some kids that I went to school with here. Despite of all the negative things I am leaving out of my rating, bottom line is that this is my favorite bar in Casper. Period.

We were just passing through on our way back to Denver from a long car trip. We had been on the road for a while and were hungry and thirsty. We drove around Casper (never explored before) and saw this place. We always like local brewery bars because they usually have different kinds of food to choose from, kids menus, and of course, BEER. We both got burgers and my kid got chicken fingers, which were real chicken breast with nice hot fries, a drink and ice cream. Our burgers were really good. Not, oh my god will you marry me good, but hot and juicy and well-crafted with the toppings. The beer was pretty good. We lived in Oregon for a while and we're now in Denver, so our standards are probably impossibly high. The service was really, really spot-on. Our server was on top of it, all the way, nice to the kid and never had an empty hand. All in all it was a nice introduction to Casper, and a nice break from the road. I don't know why the locals are so meh about it. We enjoyed it and would hit it again next time through.
(4)Pamela B.
Oh yes, how do we LOVE the Wonder Bar? Let me count the ways..... The best burgers in town? Check! Hands down the best handmade chips i've ever had? Check! An in- house ranch dressing recipe that's to die for? Check! An eclectic, appealing menu fit for everyone? Check! How can you NOT love this place? Great laid back atmosphere that both family friendly AND fun for "adults only" evenings out. Dress is everything from Macy's to Wal-Mart in the dining room, and its located in one of the oldest buildings in Wyoming! This place even has its own ghost! Plus, sit anywhere you like since its self- seating here. An absolute must-try place in Casper.
(5)Hanh D.
I had lunch here recently. We sat at the bar and had a friendly conversation with the bartender/server. It's standard pub food. I had the chicken cheese steak and my co-worker had a burger. We both liked our food. We also had the buffalo wings that I also liked. It was pretty empty for lunch though.
(5)Nicholas P.
Ernest Hemingway supposedly drank here once, so I suppose this place at one time had something going for it. Let me add that I enjoy The Wonder Bar's cheap wings and beer specials. However one incident keeps it from getting a better score, the incident in question concerns myself and a friend of mine. My friend and I had ordered chicken wings and beer. My order came out perfectly, but my friend's order came out cold. My friend then asked for his order of wings to be reheated. Instead of doing as asked the cook just put more sauce on the wings. When my friend went to complain to the manager. The manager (who was balding) proceeded to berate him. All in all this place is good just watch out for the balding manager.
(2)Mike C.
I really liked this place. Small towns with brew pubs can either go horribly wrong or be a great find. They had 3 beers they brewed; a red, ale and wheat. All three were great. The rest is typical bar food. What was really refreshing was the service being friendly, helpful and on top of it. Good times!
(4)Pam D.
Just a-ok for food and atmosphere.
(3)Tessa S.
My favorite bar in Casper! Has good moderately priced food, I love the buffalo wings (boneless preferred), the sauce is great! Burgers are also delicious, they make their own kettle chips fresh when you order your meal. For dessert order the fried cheesecake, it is HUGE and it is THE BEST, also unique, I don't think I have had fried cheesecake at any other restaurant. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Almost every Wednesday, Chard Lore, a local musician, and his band play for free. It's totally amazing and the best way to spend a Wednesday evening. I've brought several out of town members of my family to Wonder Bar Wednesday's and they LOVE it, they are amazed that the "concert" is free every Wednesday. Great atmosphere, has TV's for sport lovers, pool tables, and of course a hunting video game (typical Wyoming bar). Service varies from great to..... not so great depending on the day, time, waiter, etc. Makes several home brews, I don't particularly like beer so I can't make an opinion on that, however their mixed drinks are great- and not over priced. Every so often a comedian or other entertainer does a show upstairs in "The Attic" which are fun. Can also rent out "The Attic" for events. Overall a great hometown bar!
(4)Eddie G.
best burgers and locally crafted beers in Casper, good for dinner or 4th meal or whenever you can make it in.
(4)Laura G.
I had a great experience there. I drove in for work and stopped at the place that looked most full and I had the BEST burger I think I've ever eaten (the Wonder Burger). The staff was friendly and the entire place has a very comfortable and welcome feel. I would recommend this to anyone who lives in Casper or who's driving through. Their red ale is also AMAZING. A smooth and delicious beer that complimented the burger perfectly.
(5)Brian B.
Wonder Bar is okay. The beers they brew are usually pretty good. Non-smoking, which is nice. Busy on weekends. good times.

My niece suggested having dinner here our last night in Casper Wyoming visiting family. I really enjoyed the pizza it was fantastic. I'm giving 3 stars because the salad bar was just ok.

Period.

Great wait staff and bartenders, excellent pub grub, and a wide selection of alcohol. They brew three beers onsite and of the three I recommend the red. I've been here twice and really enjoyed it.

First off let me start by saying i have given this place several chances and it never fails to disappoint. Unless your a bar regular at the bar or good friends with the staff don't expect to get more then one drink or your food in less then an hour. Sub par food and prices through the roof. Don't waste you time or money.

I really liked this place. Small towns with brew pubs can either go horribly wrong or be a great find. They had 3 beers they brewed; a red, ale and wheat. All three were great. The rest is typical bar food. What was really refreshing was the service being friendly, helpful and on top of it. Good times!

Just a-ok for food and atmosphere.

Overall a great hometown bar!

best burgers and locally crafted beers in Casper, good for dinner or 4th meal or whenever you can make it in.

Wonder Bar is okay. The beers they brew are usually pretty good. Non-smoking, which is nice. Busy on weekends. good times.
