I had lunch at the bar on a Sunday. Normally this means the B-list staff is working since the traffic is pretty light. I had the bar all to myself, the bartender was a very pleasant lady who provided nice conversation and made a good manhattan. The rib eye steak was made just right, and the baked sweet potato tasted like candied yams with toasted marshmallow on top. Although not cheap, for a steak house this place is not over priced. I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a good drink and/or a classy steak.

We come here very often. I love the atmosphere, service, drinks and most of all food. I have had about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Their French onion soup is amazing. I recommend this place for a great night out.

The FireRock has certainly become a staple in Casper of mine. With it's nice atmosphere (free bread yay), clean bathrooms, and great staff I really do think of it as an ideal restaurant to catch up with an old friend or just eat with the family. The food itself was good . I have to say I love sweet potato fries and I'm a bit of a snob about them so I was pleased to find these ones were delicious and crispy! As for my only con, Yes, Ill admit the FireRock is a little pricy for larger groups . But dont let that deter you from trying it at least once. I think you may be pleasantly surprised.

Was told by several persons in town this was the place for a great steak and it was! Had a filet cooked perfect with basmanti rice. Came during happy hour and was told about any discounts. Staff were attentive and friendly and while a bit pricey for some possibly still a perfect place for a steak. I will come back the next time I come to Casper.
(5)Chief D.
great staff! I even changed a few things on my meal that was not on the menu. it was not a problem and they got everything right. expect a wait as they are always busy. cause there good!
(5)Danny B.
I would have to come back and try some of their other offers on the menu. The steak I had was cooked right but it sure lacked the flavor. For high end food they had some low end seasoning.
(3)C P.
Great atmosphere (although a little on the loud side) and service. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Food was above average but not great especially considering its one of the higher prices in Casper.
(4)Carrie R.
We had a long wait for our table, but once seated our waiter was very quick with drinks and appetizers. Everything was very good!
(4)Travis J.
Okay. so FireRock served decent food but nothing I'd call home about. They are a higher end restaurant here in Casper. Their stakes were alright and truth be told, I could have bought one from the store and grilled it better then the Chef prepared it.. Other wise the service was great, food was decent, and I'd for sure come back and take my ole lady to it for a romantic date

Being from San Diego I wasn't sure what to expect here. I wanted something more upscale yet not stuffy and this place was perfect! We ate appetizers in the bar area. I had the popcorn chicken which was good with a variety of dipping sauces. I appreciated the presentation and my friend had calamari. She said it was delicious. Our drinks were great - they have blueberry martinis that smell amazing! I stuck to my Arnold Palmers that were okay. A bit weak on the lemonade but nothing I would complain about. I also tried their banana cream pie and the slightly torched banana slices in it were yummy but the pie slice looked more like a blob of pudding. We got a steak to go for the babysitter so I don't know how their meat is but it looked good. I would come here again on my next visit and liked that Casper had a more upscale option. Also, their service was fantastic! We had a great waitress who was attentive and friendly. Thank you to the Firerock for a nice evening!

My favorite place to eat in Casper. Fantastic bar, bartenders and TV's for games. Pecan encrusted Mahi is amazing. If you plan to go a lot sign up for their frequent dinners club. Good stuff!

I want to give them a better rating, but the best part about this place (the food) is inconsistent. The first time I went, I ordered what I think is called the Santa Fe wrap. I asked for no sour cream or chicken. When my order arrived, it had cheese on it. The waiter got upset when I sent it back, saying that I didn't order it without cheese, which is true, because the menu didn't say it came with it, so I didn't know I needed to ask for it off. The wrap that I got was absolutely delicious, though. The tortillas have flavor alone, the rice was seasoned so it had just enough of a bite. I was really impressed over how good it was, especially since I ordered things off of it, but it didn't feel like it was missing anything. The next time I went was for my birthday dinner. I ordered the wrap again, but when I got it the rice was not cooked at all, really. It was literally like gravel. So I sent it back (again the waiter was rude), and they made me another, but with chicken when I asked for it without. Unfortunately, this one didn't come until we were paying the bill, so I didn't bother getting it remade, again....I ended up eating some fries (good, not great) and my friend's macaroni and cheese (delicious). The waitstaff is almost all people I went to school with, and they aren't the friendliest. They get short with you if you complain because they'll get into trouble if there is anything wrong with your order. The other thing is that if you go on like a Friday night, it's REALLY loud. I'd go during the week when it's quiet, as it's a lot more enjoyable. They have paper tablecloths and crayons, so you can draw all over the tables which is fun.

When I discovered FireRock in Casper I was pretty excited. It's pretty comparable to a nice restaurant in Denver. It has a great atmosphere and always seems to be busy and popular place to be. I have been here for a couple of group parties and they have a nice room that can fit like 15 people that is away from the main dining area. This is nice because you can actually visit with your friends without the crowd and noise. I have their scallop dish a couple times and it was tasty but seems a little over priced. But I guess is considered a "fancy" restaurant in Casper. Every time i have been here had pretty good service!

4 stars on the Casper,WY scale! Enjoyed the food and the service - contrary to many other reviews - was attentive and friendly. My colleague and I shared the Ahi appetizer: very tasty... Served over a bed of napa cabbage and peppers over wasabi. I had the Snapper Pontratrain. It was nicely coated in a somewhat spicy blackening spice, then smothered in a creamy sauce with mushrooms peppers and onions. Really really tasty. I got Creamed spinach on the side and it was just right: plenty of spinach and not too much cream. My colleague had the cedar plank salmon and really liked it. The only thing that I didn't love was the side salad. I thought it was pretty weak and the balsamic vinaigrette was too sweet and goopy.

My friends and I come here rather frequently while I'm in town. The main reason, is because it's safe. It's nothing special, and I'm never going to be impressed by any of the food I have here, but at least, it's consistently safe. It's a steakhouse... Like Casper needed another, but, at least their meat quality seems a little better than the other places in town. Service annoys me... The servers, apparently, are told to write their name, in Crayon, on the butcher paper that lines your table. That annoys me... Crayons smell bad, are made of wax, are dirty, and now the server is going to bring me my food with her disgusting Crayola-ized hands. Gross.

Went for a quick bite and a beer. Had awesome chicken tortilla soup and good selection of Wyoming beers. Nice bar tender. I would definitely return.
(4)Shane Z.
Great establishment! They were a little slow getting the starter bread out, but it was worth the wait! Some of the best cornbread I have had! We got the Nachos as an appetizer, very good, but they are a meal within themselves! Their steaks tasted great, I like it when I go to a steak house and I don't need to add Salt/Pepper to my steak. Seasoned wonderfully! Staff was wonderful, food was pretty quick.

We stopped off on our way from Oklahoma. Upon hearing that this was our first time in the restaurant, our waiter told the manager who came to the table. She welcomed us and gave us a free appetizer of the 6 cheese artichoke dip, awesome but the way. Very friendly staff. I had the 7oz sirloin and added fried shrimp. Steak was cooked great and the shrimp were outstanding. My wife had the grilled chicken club and liked it a lot also. Bottom line is if you're going through Casper, WY and you're looking for a great meal prepared and served by a great staff then this is the place. Outstanding
(5)Sarah F.
Traveling from out of state, we were told this was a nice place to get a good steak. The food was really good and our waitress was great. The only negative comment I have is that the 3 hostesses at the front were very unfriendly and the one that seated us was even rude. For first impressions, not good. Management needs to retrain these girls or find friendly ones.
(4)Cathy S.
Great happy hour wonderful appetizers...4-6pm every day of the week. Service was fabulous, very friendly. Comfortable environment. This place is what you make it, sports bar, romantic, has a large room for large groups.
(5)Jaclyn M.
I've been here before, and it was really a good experience, but my most recent trip here prompted me to write a review. I had made a reservation for a large party, but the reservation time somehow was miscommunicated. They had reserved our table for an hour earlier by mistake. Both the host staff and the manager were VERY quick (and apologetic) to fix the situation, even though they were super busy (this restaurant BTW is always busy, regardless of day of the week or time of day). Which based on other Casper restaurant experiences, is rare to find. Really, service in Casper has taken such a huge downturn in the past couple years. Except for at the FireRock. The manager came to our table a few times to make sure we were happy, and comped all the apps that we wanted. Getting the food took awhile, but we did have a table of 8. Once we got the food though, we were all so content and couldn't believe the quality. Great food, great presentation, big portions, great service. Not really much more you can ask for!
(5)Sarah W.
The food is incredible, however, the service discounts this restaurant. I have been here 4 times, and have had horrible service 3/4 times. The only time I had good service was the first time. The ribeye tends to be good, my co-worker has the prime rib and loves it. The dessert is probably the best part of the meal. My co-worker gets the creme brulee every time and loves it. The pecan candied sundae is FANTASTIC. If the service were better and less consistently horrible, this would be 4 or 5 stars.
(3)Valerie G.
I was in Casper for a few days for work and stopped in to FireRock one night. I had the French onion soup and stuffed mushrooms and both were very very good. I would recommend it to friends traveling there, for sure,
(4)Mark Q.
My usual stop a couple times a month. I sit At a table in the bar and the service is always good. Stuck on good appetizers and the walleye is excellent. I eat out 4x a week and this is my favorite in Wyoming
(4)Jacob M.
We walked in and were wowed, very nice decor - its a shame the food wasn't as good as the decor. Got an "IPA" for my first beer. I put it in quotes b/c it was actually an Amber Ale. a) Trust me and my beer knowledge (I go to GABF every year), b) for those that aren't sure what the distinction is it would be like ordering a Merlot and getting a Chardonnay. Maybe the keg was hooked up wrong or the brewery mis-labelled the keg, either way it didn't satisfy. Got the Buffalo Calamari to start, which is like chicken wings but with calamari. Interesting but I would not get it again, it was like a cross between cheetos and chicken wings. Had the chicken greek salad for my dinner, good and tasty but nothing better than an Applebee's/TGIF/etc Cowkorker didn't finish but half his chicken wrap, he didn't like it at all. the other finished his steak and thought it was decent. The bartenders and service were great. Interesting clientele.

Good beer selection, great food. Poor service. Our waitress could hardly keep our water glasses full; we never received bread with our dinner and she wasn't that friendly. As far as the meal goes; it was pretty good. I had the sirloin, seared scallops, and a side of asparagus. The steak was cooked perfectly and the scallops were tasty. Too bad the service was so poor.
(3)Josh T.
In fairness, my family has had good experiences at this restaurant (good service, good "food" [if you can call factory farmed corn and soy fed beef food]/great steaks). But, tonight, we called ahead (they don't do reservations) and watched three groups of 3-4 people who came in after us go ahead of us. Bad start. We asked after the last group, and they said they had a group of ten and a large table had just opened up for them. Ok, sure. Nevermind that we didn't see ten people go in and they had a buzzer thingy going off that clearly came in and got their buzzer thingy after us. Next, my mother ordered two appetizers, and one was a prosciutto wrapped shrimp appetizer. The proscuitto was far more salty than either of us had ever tasted, and the shrimp were terribly overdone. We mentioned this to the waitress, and she said she'd talk to a manager. Fair enough. I sat for five minutes with an empty water glass before she came to refill it. In fairness, they were slammed and I have worked in food service before. But for an eighty dollar ticket with one glass of wine and no desert for three people, we think we can expect more from an upscale steakhouse. Next, our steaks and sides were mediocre this time. They were cooked to perfection, but my mother's filet was "chewy"; if you're a steak person, well, you know filets shouldn't be chewy hence you ordering a filet over a sirloin, yes? We timed our steaks which came out together, but my son ordered french onion soup (my son and I are flexitarian, but 80% of our diet is basically vegan; once in a while to not offend others, we do eat meat since we transitioned) in trying to stick to his vegetarian diet. It didn't come out with our steaks and we told the guy who delivered them the soup was missing. It took a full ten minutes before the waitress came back out to check on our order to discover it was gone, and another five minutes before his soup came out. And, when it did, it came out at the surface temperature of the sun. As such, we were done eating by the time my son could start his soup. When the bill arrived, the shrimp (which we didn't finish; believe we left two of the four left) was still on the bill. Frankly, tonight, the food sucked and the service royally sucked. If it wasn't for my mother, there would have only been a 5% tip. We sucked it up and gave ten. BUT, we won't complain to management further, and won't ever be back. So, you're taking a risk pilgrim... Good luck.

Ate there again today for a late lunch. Was not very busy at all. Server was slow and screwed up our order. The scallops were under cooked and the Mac and Cheese was so salty my kid couldnt even eat it. The chef did come out to see if he could fix anything. That was a plus in my book. And my sister n law had a steak that was cook to perfection. So if you want a awesome steak, this is the place to be.

I eat at FireRock occasionally and have had both good experiences there and not so good experiences. Today I had a dining experience so bad I felt compelled to log onto Yelp and share it. I went for lunch with a friend and ordered a sandwich; this is the actual description of what I ordered copied from their online menu: Turkey Sandwich Shaved turkey breast with cucumbers, sprouts, tomato and a light mustard sauce on wheatberry bread What I got was a sandwich without cucumbers and with regular dijon mustard on grocery store quality wheat bread. No problem- restaurants run out of produce in WY and maybe they didn't have any wheat berry bread. However, when I picked up the sandwich to take a bite I noticed something strange- the bread was hard and crusty- as if it was toasted. But it was cold and not browned at all. I smelled it and the unmistakeable odor of stale bread hit me. I called the server over and told her the bread was very stale and should not be served. She sent the manager over and I repeated my discovery that the hard, crusty bread was not toasted but very stale. Her initial response was a haughty "this sandwich is NOT served toasted". I responded that I didn't think it was toasted I thought it was stale. She announced she would "talk with the chef" and went off to the back with the bread. My dining companion and I sat there wondering what in the hell a "chef" would be doing fixing cold turkey sandwiches? Either he is actually the cook and she is putting on airs or they aren't utilizing the talents of their chef very well. She returned after about 10 minutes and announced she was comping the sandwich but that the chef had told her the bread was not stale. She then stood there staring at me like I owed her an apology! I am sure the "chef" (and really by now we are sure he's not actually a chef if he doesn't recognize stale bread when he sees it) told the manager he didn't think the customer was right and he was sure the bread was okay. I am not so sure why the service manager thought that it was in the best interest of customer service to announce that to me, a customer in the dining room. I thanked her for taking the sandwich of off the bill and told her I disagreed with her chef. She then asked - loudly enough that other diners turned to stare at her- "Would you like me to bring my chef out here to talk to you?" Do I want to have a front of the house confrontation with the cook who is either too stupid to recognize stale bread or too arrogant to admit he served it? Are you nuts lady? We paid for my companion's meal and our extras and left, laughing all the way to the parking lot because it was just too ridiculous a situation to do anything else. I should say our poor server, Dana, tired everything to make it better and was in no way to blame. I really feel for her working with that manager and having to serve sub-standard food that cook insists is fine! I don't mind paying a bit extra at lunch to eat in a nice atmosphere and get a little something more; fresh produce and nice, high quality bread for instance. Not only did I get an average turkey sandwich on stale wheat bread that likely came from Sam' Club, I got a steaming plate of attitude on the side. If the manager had just apologized and discounted the ticket- not even comped the whole sandwich- we would have shrugged it off and been back next week. But she has ruined this restaurant for both me and my lunch companion with her ludicrous, over the top behavior. I won't be back in FireRock for a long time and I will never go back for lunch. There are too many good restaurants in Casper. If I want an average sandwich on store bought loaf bread I'll go somewhere that charges 6 bucks for it and has decent customer service standards.

I have had a good experience 2 outta 5 times here. First time was for lunch had the french dip sandwich and it was awesome. Highly recommend. Second time again was amazing. Our server was great, the drinks were heavily poured and the steaks were delicious. It was all downhill from there. Next time out ordered the prime rib. It came at the same time as our salads and bread and was extremely fatty. After that tried the ribeye again and it tasted like the grill it had been cooked on hadn't been cleaned for weeks. My last time there wasn't terrible but our waitress just took off mid shift and the bartender had to cover for her. I will go here again for drinks (because they are strong, reasonably priced and fantastic) and appetizers and then move on to the next place for dinner. It is way too overpriced to provide sub-par food and service.
(2)Amy N.
Wonderful food, great service and even better atmosphere! Great restaurant, highly recommend!
(5)K W.
Mediocre. Food is not well-seasoned or fresh. We ordered calamari as the appetizer and it was mostly breading. I had the lamb chops and they were under-seasoned and over-cooked for lamb. Ordered creamed spinach and it tasted like chopped, frozen spinach that had been microwaved and slapped on the plate - not creamed at all. The food is all pre-fab - reheated like any sit-down chain restaurant you would go to. The service was slow. They were out of wines despite having them listed on the menu. It's not a bad place to get drinks and appetizers, but I'd skip the main course.

The issue with Firerock is the food. It remains to be seen if it is poor due to ignorance or laziness. However in Firerock's defense its location is not optimal for any type of innovative or radical culinary scene. This is not necessarily Wyoming's fault as the state is mostly blue collar and eats as such (after all who is going to start a cutting edge eating establishment in such a lowly populated area). However the food at Firerock is severely lacking. As for the most part it just seems clumsily prepared and conceived. I base this on an Easter brunch we had this year. It looked amazing, however when it came to taste the food just seemed bland as if cheaper ingredients were used. Overall I would say that Firerock is ok to go occasionally, but not an establishment that should be visited habitually. On a positive note I enjoyed Firerock's interior it had a familiar feeling that some restaurants do, yet at the same time it was not sterile. On a positive note the burgers are decent, though pricey.
(2)Julie R.
We love happy hour! Calamari is the best around. Menu is varied and satisfying. We've always had good service and smiling faces...and good food. A little pricey but worth it. Ahi Ahi served correctly. Excellent steaks. Creme Brûlée is to die for!
(4)Michael K.
Food was great, but having to wait 18 minuted before someone finally asks if they can take my order, and then being out of Prime Rib at 7:30PM and then forgetting the sauce on the steak you recommended in lieu, is not acceptable for a "recommended" spot.
(2)Frankie L.
My family and I, along with a few friends, had a wonderful Sunday evening dinner here after running in the 2011 Casper Marathon. The service was attentive, but not hurried, allowing us to linger over appetizers (mussels in a spicy tomato sauce with a squeeze of lemon; pulled BBQ pork nachos) and drinks until the rest of our party arrived. I had the "Rack of Lamb" (medium-rare, ALWAYS medium-rare) with steamed asparagus and was really very impressed. Paired with a 2008 14 Hands Cabernet, the lamb was exceedingly flavorful. I used one of the warm and well-seasoned rolls to mop up every last bit of the über-unctious cherry demi-glace. The ambiance was nice--a sort of classy-casual aura draped over the staff and patrons alike. My only wag-of-the-finger goes to FireRock's choice of using large white sheets of paper as table cloths instead of, well, table cloths. Servers write their name on the table in crayon before leaving you with your own set to dabble with (should you find yourself in need of something other than food, drink, and conversation to occupy your time at the dinner table). TIP: Be sure to ask for a fresh roll or two if the ones on the table harden before you are ready to indulge. It is okay to do that, you know!
(4)Tony H.
What can I say, this place failed to impress. The location made it seem like it was worth the drive to go somewhere casual. The retaurant had a great atmosphere and decor in and out. Our party of 4 had an order of prime rib, 2x lamb chops, and an order of carbonara. I had the prime rib which was very excellent, but I'm a sucker for prime rib. The two other members had the lamb chops which were awful! The smell of the lamb was just overbearing, that they couldn't eat it. They passed it onto my plate for my border collie at home. The other member had the carbonara which in his opinion was not very good. The server was very nice, in the end, she asked what was wrong with the carbonara as she offered to make another one because that one was not "good." But our member declined the nice offer. Service is great, but the lamb and carbonara was not. Ended up with a bill of $150 for a 4 person party. I think poorboys will be a better option next time for half that price!

I had the Bacon cheeseburger with a side beet salad and BBQ pork nachos. All in all this place was okay. This is a place trying to be upscale so I will hold it to that bar. The cheeseburger was fine. Cooked properly, but not a stand out burger. It could have used some arugula and maybe a better cut of beef. Not a dollar burger but not a 10 buck burger either. The beet salad was quite nice, by far my favorite dish of the meal. The beets were grilled to perfection and the flavor profile was exquisite. The BBQ pork nachos were nothing to write home to mom about. okay idea, bad execution. I can't say exactly where they are going wrong here, but if you are going to recommend a dish for me, make sure that it is a good dish. All in all I would say sure you are in the middle of nowhere, try this place out. They have some good qualities, but for their price point they need to affect a stronger sense of quality in their product to make their stand.
(3)Karen C.
I thought the food this restaurant was excellent, but the service was very slow. We had a party of 16 and had a private room. They have a large menu and a good kids' menu. I got the kabobs with veggies only; they came on a bed of rice and were delicious. Would definitely go back!
(4)Carla E.
Difficult to chose between two and three stars. This restaurant seems to be quite popular. The atmosphere is nice. Table settings are nice. I am not a fan of their food however; they are priced at the top end of the spectrum here in Casper. Fish is so-so. Nothing fresh. Salmon is farm-raised. The steaks are okay. I know the restaurant has had issues with keeping their kitchen managers. Wait staff is truly hit and miss. On my last three visits I had one good experience, and two truly awful ones ie a waitress plunked down an appetizer then came back around after we'd started on it and said "oh, sorry, that was for someone else" and actually took the plate away. :-O Very good wine selection, one of the city's best

A quick overnight trip to Casper found me with my colleagues eating dinner at The FireRock......The outside is very attractive and looks new but I was told it had been in business 5 years. The decor inside was nice as well....that rustic lodge look, which I like. They had several seating areas....main floor, private room, bar and bar seating. We met some customers there and they were already seated in the bar area at a pub table for 6 so we ended up staying there for dinner as well. We started off with a few cocktails and they were fine.....Next we had a few appetizers and they were a little disappointing. The calamari breading fell off as soon as you stabbed with with a fork and the cheese dip came without anything to dip into it....no chips, crackers, only celery....not what I expected for cheese/artichoke dip. Next we moved onto the main meal and since this was steakhouse, I ordered steak....a 12oz ribeye cooked medium and a loaded baked potato. I will say the baked potato was one of the largest I have seen....maybe because Wyoming is so close to Idaho....and it had plenty of toppings to mix in. The steak, on the other hand, was nothing to write home about. It was OK but not to the caliber of even a Saltgrass or Outback. It was cooked right....nice and pink but no blood....but just was not as tender as I would expect for a ribeye. One of the highlights of the evening was our server....she was rude....in a good way...like Dirty Dicks on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. She was quick to come back with a smart-a@# comment and picked on everyone at the table equally. It was quite comical and made for a fun evening. Overall, this place is A-OK and if in the area again, I would go back.
(3)Gary K.
We drive through and stay in Casper every year enroute to our mule deer hunting camp in Slater, Colorado. This restaurant is a evening meal destination for us. A nice selection with an emphasis on decent steaks. The service is pretty quick too for groups of six.
(4)Wendy D.
Ok I am really loving this place now... I go during happy hour get the half priced apps. I had the tillapia with maderia sauce it was so good wish they could have given me a vat of that sauce it was way yummy! The infusion which is a large pitcher/vat lol that they put pinapples and berries in then fill it with vodka. They let it sit then serve it in large glasses for $6.50 (way lot of booze for the price) or during happy hour it is $4.50. My husband had the ribeye with was cooked perfectly. We signed up for there preffered cust card and got a $20 entree for our anniversary. You also get one for your bday and 3 other memebers of your household... so that is $100 in free entress.... Plus every $200 you spend (acumulative) earns you another.

Overpriced and overhyped. You understand exactly what I mean once you see the presentation of the food and try in vain to actually TASTE it! I have dined here more times than I care to mention. Each time hoping to find something on the menu thats at least average or above, but alas, I have given up the fight. Everybody in town wants to pack themselves in there on a Friday night, if only just to say they did. Attempting to have an upscale atmosphere and installing cheap gimmicks such as the rock waterfall/ torch thing seems to confuse and have have a hypnotic effect on the residents of Casper. As someone whom comes from a city, these things don't trick me quite so easily. Price is not an issue for me, if the meal is worthy. However, this is NOT food I deem worthy.
(1)Michelle N.
The service is awful. There are a couple of servers that are so rude and snotty. No matter how good the food is, if the server is a jerk, I don't want to eat there.
(1)Mark S.
I am happy that they stay busy, and I like going there, but some times the food is just OK and the place is always loud. For Casper this is one of the better places to go.
(3)Jessica w.
I had to be in Casper two weeks in a row for a business trip and probably ate here about 8 times. Every meal i had was fabulous. I was so pleased to find such a great restaurant in Casper.
(5)Ryan T.
This restaurant has a great feel, but falls flat on its face when the food is served. Such a shame -- this place has so much potential.
(2)Alex L.
Good steak, good scallops =) Not cheap. Nice atmosphere and good service. If it were cheaper I'd give it 5 stars
(4)Mike C.
Atmosphere is great and the bar is fun to hang out and have few. Everyone is nice including the waitstaff but the kitchen has some major issues. They just couldn't get food out the door. First is was no bread for the table, then they didn't have any lettuce for the salads. The garlic mashed potatoes were not that good, but the fillet steak was great. I'd go back to hopefully have a better experience. Good place to give a second chance.

This place was pretty busy when we went on a Tuesday night. Took a while to get a table and the waitress was overworked. She was super nice though and a definite pro. I ordered their steak and ribs for $18. The steak I requested medium rare and when it showed up it was cooked well done. I turned it over to find the other side of the steak completely charred. So I asked for another one (which I never do), but I really dislike the taste of charred meat (go figure). The ribs were good and I ate those while I waited for my new steak. The manager brought this one out and it was cooked right. But still, I was expecting better. Just didn't have much flavor. Everyone else at my table though really enjoyed their food, so who knows. Overall, I probably wouldn't go back.

I have been to Firerock a couple of times since moving to Casper. I have to say it reminds me of a restaurant I would find in a city, which is why I like it. I also like the restaurant because they have a decent amount of options to choose from. Don't get me wrong I love red meat but it seems like all the restaurants here only have that to choose from. I was excited to finally see chicken and fish on the menu. I have ordered the rotisserie chicken both times I have eaten at FireRock. The chicken has been perfectly crispy and the portion size is great. I wasn't too pleased with their vegetable medley, it was under-seasoned and lacking flavor. I also am not a fan of their garlic mashed potatoes. They tasted like boxed potatoes. The lobster mac and cheese seems to be a poplar dish. Last time I ate at FireRock I ordered mac and cheese as my side but much to my dismay the were out of it. I don't understand how you can just run out of something? My service was pretty good but we did have to wait awhile for our dishes to come out. I definitely think this is one of the best restaurants in Casper.

For Casper this was four stars. Good bread and inventive cocktail list. Decent steak with good sides. Be careful getting to the bathroom.

The menu changes frequently BUT you can ask to have a fav dish prepared for you and nine times out of ten they will do it! Great appetizers: I've had fried pickles elsewhere and NEVER have they been this good, sirloin bruschetta was so tender, so good I had to lick my fingers, stuffed shrooms are delectable and a nice balance of herbs, the jumbo lump crab cakes are yum! And this is just the beginning! I love their lamb porterhouse and their veal chop. Few places in Wyoming can cook this good!! Their soups are simply divine especially the potato leek. I love their sweet potato; it has brown sugar, pecans and if you want marshmallows, I just go for the pecans and brown sugar. I had a sweet potato at a place in Riverton and it was horrible, this was perfect and dressed with just the right amount of extras! I'm not a big Brussel Sprout person, but when I tasted my Dad's carrot, brussels and bacon veg side I asked for a side myself. They make homemade sweetp potato pie that is sweet and has nice mouth feel and their chocolate angel food cake is coffee flavored and served with fresh berries. This place makes my mouth water when I'm driving to Casper. We eat here a lot when in Casper.

Had lunch here the other day, it was excellent. I had a Santa Fe Chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. Service was good! Definetely the best steakhouse in Casper by far. Would go there again.

Food: I came here for an early dinner after running the Casper Marathon. I sat at the bar so I could watch a little TV while I ate. I started off with a Ellie's Brown Ale. I then ordered their Bone-in Ribeye cooked medium rare with creamed spinach. I also had a house salad to go with the steak. While I was waiting for the food to come out, they gave me some bread. The bread was nice and warm, tasted good with butter. The steak wasn't the best that I've eaten, but it was good enough to hit the spot after a long day of running. The creamed spinach and the house salad were both decent as well. Service: I had fantastic service from the bartender. He even comped the salad because he mistakenly told me that it was included with my meal. Overall: Not your finest steakhouse, but the food is above average. I wouldn't mind eating here again if ever I find myself in Casper again.

Service: First off, why in the world does the waitstaff need to write their name, upsidedown, on the paper tablecloth, what purpose does that serve? Second, in this restaurant, the waitstaff are told to remove plates after customers are done eating even though there are other customers at the same table, in the same party still eating. Restaurant 101: don't remove plates until all have finished eating, it's rude and indicates that the others eating are slow, they need to catch up, this is basic restaurant procedure that this restaurant should know. Lastly, please, please know what gluten-free is. The waitstaff told us "all the chicken dishes are gluten free" where clearly there was breaded chicken, and other non-gluten-free chicken dishes offered--totally bluffing that they knew what gluten free was. Food: the mahi picata was good, bread is excellent, steak is fairly good.

This is like a steakhouse version of the macaroni grill. You sit down and your waiter writes their name down on your table with a crayon. And it's not white tablecloth --- it's a white butcher paper top. I have a feeling this is a cost saving measure, and the name writing is a way to kind of justify it. But it's awkward and immediately sets a kitschy tone (like that bling restaurant from office space). I was impressed by the fact that my waitress could write her name in cursive upside down. Food is Solid. Steaks are not prime (choice), but I really enjoyed my porterhouse (glad to see this is now being offered). The lobster mac & cheese is also good. Prices are reasonable (on par with an outback). Service is sluggish, but it doesn't bother me (what else do I have to do in Casper???). The waitresses and bartenders seem to be hired for their looks too. Being a chauvinistic pig, I don't have a problem with this. It's a hoppin place full of either folks celebrating or oil dudes burning through their stipend. I love overhearing the weird conversations that range from drunken oilmen touting how amazing they are to odd groups dropping expletives left and right. I honestly come here for the shit show spectacle and because it's close to the hotel I stay at. If I really wanted a chill, higher quality meal, I'd drive the extra few minutes to silver fox. Oh, and the last hilarious kicker is the rewards / frequent diner card they have. Cmon.

Great atmosphere, steaks are amazing, and great service! Not a big fan of the waitresses writing their names on the tablecloths with the ambience of the restaurant, but everything else was fabulous! Definately recommend!

In George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, a professor takes a bedraggled Cockney girl, trains her in speech and etiquette, and dresses her in finery so that she can pass as a Dutchess at a garden party. The Firerock is like if someone tried to dress a Golden Corral or an Outback Steakhouse up in the livery of a fine steak house, but skipped the lessons in phonetics and diction. Now, I don't want to seem too harsh. I love me some Golden Corral - it's just not fine dining. Upon first walking into the restaurant, I was impressed with the decor and lighting, but upon sitting down, my server wrote his name on the paper table cloth with a magic marker. Not that there's anything wrong with that! But Ruth's Chris this is not. The meat quality is also far below that of a fine steakhouse. No USDA Prime here, folks. Only Choice. Again, not that there is anything wrong with that. Just don't be fooled into thinking this is a place that would rival a Capital Grille. That being said, the prices are very reasonable, and the food is good. There are a variety of steaks available, along with sides, salads, and appetizers. I've been to the Firerock twice now (I even have a frequent diner card), and the food has been good both times. The first time I visited, I had prime rib with a lobster tail and asparagus. It was good. The second time, I had the rack of lamb, which was also good. Bottom line, this is not a fine steak house, and the food is good. Not great, just good. This place rivals Outback, not Ruth's Chris, even if it is dressed for the part.
(3)Craig H.
Nice ambience and good service at the bar. My bartender Michelle makes a great martini. Good food. Had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. They were a little skimpy with the grilled asparagus but overall very pleased with the meal and the visit.

We are empty nesters who love to eat. We are currently taking a few weeks every yr to road trip to all the states. Eating is a big part of the road trip. Thru Wyoming, Montana etc we figured we'd do all steaks with the thought that this would be the place for great beef. We have eaten steak all thru Texas and the steaks we had at FireRock are the best we have ever have. The charring was great and the seasoning simple and delicious. My b/f liked his better than Ruth Chris or Fleming. He now holds all steaks up to FireRock. Being as we are in So Ca we aren't apt to dine here very often but will make special plans to hit it up if we are ever even remotely close to Casper. A few reviews don't share our opinion of the place and I don't see how. We were there only once so not sure if we just got lucky...but we loved it. Side dishes were pretty great too.
(5)Chris W.
Was told this place is the best in Casper...if that's the case I could never live here. I opted for prime rib, it was tasteless. Pretty pricey for tasteless prime rib. Only got 2 stars because of the amazingly cute blonde who was hostess. Oh and the astute waitress that served me. I actually updated to 3 stars, their manager walked around and was asking for feedback. I gave my honest feedback and he comped my desert accepting they can do better on prime tib. Fair play, that's nice to see....maybe they'll improve in future. He didn't have to comp my dessert. It wasnt that bad. Good customer service.

My friends in Casper brought me here for dinner while I was visiting. When we walked in, I loved the atmosphere right away. It felt warm and inviting. We were a large group of 10 and they took great care of us. Even with a big group our food came out in a timely manner. And our server always kept our glasses full. We had a nice spot by the fireplace which I loved. I had the Cedar Plank Salmon. It was cooked well and had great flavor. A few other really liked the shrimp and strawberry salad. And another loved the street tacos and Mac n Cheese. We were all so full and content, we passed on dessert. Since I'm visiting for the first time I don't know other options in the area. But this was an enjoyable choice and I'd recommend trying it.
(4)Joe M.
Great atmosphere, Great Food , Manager was very personal checking up on the customers making sure all was good. Our server Taryn was very attentive with a beautiful personality. I will most definitely visit again when I'm in town from The Woodlands, Texas. You guys keep up the Great work and see you soon!!

Stopped in here for dinner as a party of 1 on a business trip. Good service as a party of 1 is usually hit or miss, but this place was amazing. My server, Dani, was gracious and attentive ensuring I had an excellent experience. The prime rib was delicious and perfectly cooked and I truly enjoyed my meal. True it isn't Ruth's Chris, but it is definitely more than a dressed up Golden Corral. I am truly glad I chose to ignore that review and give Fire Rock a go. If you are looking for an excellent meal and great service I definitely recommend Fire Rock.

We had early reservations for dinner tonight. This is Shirley & Bob's Friday nite dinner spot every Friday for past 6 months. It does have a big menu. Walking in, noticed the atmosphere is classy, yet casual. Rustic lodge look. We were seated right away. It was crowded. Our waitress gave us menus and we all ordered cocktails, dirty martinis. Our waitress brought our drinks and a free order of their Six Cheese Artichoke Dip. Who does that?? Nice touch. It was roasted artichokes baked in a creamy cheese sauce. Served with grilled flatbread. Yum! We ordered another App: Stuffed Mushrooms. Stuffed with cheese and crabmeat. Excellent!! For dinner we ordered a bottle of Cabernet. For my main I ordered Rack of Lamb. NZ lamb with a wild cherry demi-glaze MEDIUM RARE. It came with steamed green beans. Delish!! My lamb had amazing flavor & was somewhat tender. I used one (or two) of the bread rolls to mop up any leftover wild cherry demi-glaze. It was THAT good. Shirley & John each ordered Prime Rib w/lobster tail, with steamed asparagus. Oh! I opted for steamed green beans. Shirley gave me some of her lobster tail & it was the Bomb!!! Mnnnnnn. Wow! We were so full. For dessert, we each had a scoop of ice cream. We truly had an enjoyable meal. Great prices, and yummy food. Service was spot on. --------------------------------------------------Â-------- After dinner, we went back to the house, Bob lit the fireplace and Shirley made us Hot Buttered Rums. Sooooo good! We ended up watching a movie called 'Lone Rider', its a great western vengeance flick starring Lou Diamond Phillips. My last night in Casper!

I've been wanting to try this place for some time now, but it always looked so busy whenever I was in town. Last night we arrived there about 5:15 and there was plenty of seating. By 6 the entire bar was packed. Not an empty seat! Our server was fantastic. She was the perfect mixture of attentive yet not annoying. To begin we had the sampler platter which consisted of calamari, crab stuffed mushrooms and spinach artichoke dip. I would get the mushrooms or dip again but didn't care for the calamari at all. For dinner we started with the French onion soup & Caesar salad. Both of which were very good!! We then shared a cedar plank salmon with a side of Mac & cheese. Surprisingly, the salmon had a spicy glaze on it. It wasn't at all what I was expecting, but I liked it anyway. The Mac was kind of "blah" in my opinion. I LOVE a good homemade mac, so maybe my standards are too high. If you're looking for a decent meal at decent prices with fantastic atmosphere, definitely check this place out. There are a LOT of "regulars" there and with good reason.

I'm keeping this Simple. We where on a road trip in the mood for a good meal. I figure when in Beef country eat a steak. This was close and had great Yelp reviews. I've had some great steaks in my life, This was the BEST Cajun rib Eye I have eaten!!!! (probably the best steak) the bread was warm the salad fresh. I would Drive 1000 miles again to eat that steak. The onion soup was pretty darn good to. Out of five people at our table we had five people who wanted to stay in town another night just to eat again at this place. As I write my review a month after our trip my girls can still remember our waitress's name, Thanks Stevie you were great!
(5)Bob F.
Mediocre food with great service and nice atmosphere. Nice selection of micros and good booze. I have a feeling a Sysco truck supplies the food here, pretty standard. BUT, this is Casper, which in not know as a dining destination. Great spot for riggers or other oil/gas folks to impress their clients or buddies.
(3)Wendy D.
updating my review due to recent changes in the menu... First, I use to love the Ahi Tuna on the app menu now it is disgusting. Taking sushimi grade ahi tuna and marinating it with vidallia onions. WTF??? Why bother with sushimi grade ahi tuna if you cannot taste it at all. #2 they got rid of the proscuitto shrimp. The waitress said everyone was complaining about that why because they were damned good. Prices well now that the 12 ounce prime is $29.99 our business there is done.
(2)S. B.
Very impressed with the staff and management. The decor is beautiful. I ordered the 8 oz. bacon wrapped filet, and it had the most amazing smoky flavor. One of, if not the, best steaks I've ever had! The Mac and cheese was great! Prices are VERY reasonable! A definite must!
(5)Kate M.
One of my favorites. Love the atmosphere, love the salads. Some improvements on the appetizers (nice choices) but not sure why they had to ruin the best ahi tuna in town with the chili seasoning or whatever it is. love the happy hour- but bring back a middle-of-the-road Zin - dont like Gnarly Head and the next one is twice as much a glass....But I love the beef carpaccio - keep that just the way it is! Went there earlier this week with 5 adults and everyone raved about their meal. Service was excellent!!
(4)Lisa M.
Fire Rock used to be "the place" in Casper for Anniversaries, Birthdays or really when we wanted a good meal. Unfortunately, their food has consistently gone down hill in the past few months. It will be quite a while before we will be back.
(1)Annette J.
Great atmosphere and service. The steaks are cooked over a wood fired grill, I believe, so the flavor is unlike a typical restaurant steak. They are very smoky in flavor. Ours were cooked a bit over what we ordered, but we always order at a rarer temperature than we actually like on purpose. Most restaurants cook at a higher temp than ordered. The mac and cheese is so yummy. Overall, great experience. We would go back.
(4)Renee K.
If there were six stars I would give them! Service was first class, the manager personally took care of us. There was a 45 minute wait but we sat in the bar and felt like kings. The French onion soup has not been exaggerated, it is to die for and the pork nachos were also delicious. I can only hope our hometown in Rapid City is blessed with this establishment. Thank you!!
(5)Allison L.
Boyfriend and I went here tonight because I was craving burgers. I figured a place known for meat and calls itself a 'grill' should put out a decent burger. I ordered a bleu cheese burger and boyfriend ordered the drunken onion burger. Before our burger we got rolls and a caesar salad. The rolls were AMAZING. SOOO good. They were warm, fresh and buttery. The Caesar salad was good too. The croutons seemed homemade. Now for the burgers, they were both dry dry dry. Also the waitress didn't ask us how we wanted them cooked but I told her specifically medium. It was complete well done and beyond. It almost felt like it was sitting out for a while. The waitress was very nice but service was pretty slow. Luckily the price isn't too outrageous. I would definitely try other places if in town (here for business).
(2)Debra E.
When we first walked in, the atmosphere was awesome. We came at happy hour so we had a couple glasses of wine and enjoyed wonderful meals. Service was excellent. It was clean and very relaxing.
(5)Jessica N.
Delicious steak salad. Perfect amount of cherries and goat cheese in it. Side of Mac and cheese is delicious and a steal for $1.69. Whole loaf of fresh baked bread free. I took my dinner as take-out. Staff were very accommodating even sending me with semi normal silverware. I'll be back. Going to try their French onion soup next time.
(5)Kim C.
Delicious food great service. Our waiter Carter was very attentive and provided excellent service. Wish we had one of these in Denver.
(5)David F.
Great atmosphere, great service, great food. My co-worker and I got the Firecracker Shrimp appetizer, then the Prime Rib and the Beer Can Chicken (basically a roasted half chicken & 2 sides). Everything was delicious. The garlic mashed potatoes were just right, the green beans were flavorful, and the skin on the roasted chicken was perfectly crisp. I hear the prime rib was great as well. It sure looked that way. Bonus: The price was surprisingly reasonable for the atmosphere and food quality, which rocks when you're eating on a company expense account. If you visit Casper, try the Firerock. You'll be glad you did.
(5)Carol L.
Great atmosphere, wonderful service, incredible French onion soup and steak salad! Plus, the adorable bartender made a delicious dirty martini!!
(5)Ronnie S.
A very busy place on a Tuesday night - a good sign that was borne out by our experience. Delicious wedge salad. We tried steak, ribs, and the French onion soup. The other reviews have it right, great soup! The only downside was the noise level - too much for a really relaxing meal.
(4)L.scott W.
Friendly staff steak tough and not prepared very well. Will not come back. Don't waste your time or money
(1)Kent M.
Really good food stop this eve for our group of 3. They had chicken fried steak and was excellent. Thick meat and nice size portion. We had mushroom app and was good. Shrooms were smaller, but very good. I had a shrimp pasta and was really good. Desserts, we had a rhubard pie and apple same. Both really good and fresh prep. I would eat here again for sure.
(4)Grace V.
Husband and I went there for our anniversary and were pleasantly surprised. We both thought it was going to be overpriced but we both were happy with the pricing. My husband had a delicious steak and I had pasta with an amazing cocktail. We were seated in the bar for dinner (we aren't picky) and the atmosphere wasn't too loud that we couldn't have a conversation. Our waitress was attentive and our entire experience at he restaurant was delightful.
(5)Meg M.
Not the best steakhouse, but also not the worst. Honestly, I was hoping for better steak options after driving past some of the most gorgeous Black Angus cattle I have ever seen. Beware: there are lots of flies on the patio. The firecracker shrimp is pretty good, but stay away from the beef carpaccio-it's average at best.
(3)Emma B.
We were not very happy with our food here...pretty overrated. Expensive and mediocre. Service was slow and food came out cold. Not the best experience, we won't be back. Sorry FireRock!
(2)Wei W.
Oh my goodness, this place ROCK!!!! After our 30 years middle school reunion at Yellow Stone National Park, some of us stopped by this restaurant on our way to Denver. Patrick Kingston, General Manager and his team, provided us amazing dining experience to remember - they seated us nicely without long waiting; from wine, appetizers, steak, crab cake, to dessert, everything were well prepared and delicious (quite honestly, the leftover T-bone was so so good when I ate the next day). Last but not the least, we greatly appreciate Patrick's kindness on complementary appetizers and desserts. Will sure stop by this place again. Highly recommend if you want to impress your family and friends with night of high quality food, wine, plus priceless memory.
(5)G B.
I loved everything I've had here....Half shell oysters are very good, the Ahi Tuna appetizer is VERY good!....The Cajun style ribeye is a damn good steak! and yes to top it off why not some tasty creme brûlée! CANT wait to go back!
(5)Angella K.
Excellent private dining rooms, service and menus. The food is great and everyone has left with a full stomach very happy with the entire meal!
(4)Cyndi J.
Casper is really devoid of great restaurants. This place is so cookie-cutter "fancy," it might as well be a chain. The service was pretty slow and not real friendly either. I had the herb-crusted walleye, and if there were herbs, I missed them. It was not seasoned well at all. The baked potato was good, but how hard is it to bake a potato and drown it in butter? My husband, the prime rib fanatic, declared his merely "okay." For a "fancy" restaurant, the plating is just not creative, and the food is not amazing. And the wine list? Please. It's an amateur collection of cheap bottles, with maybe a gem or two thrown in. I'm not impressed with this place, it appears to be a veritable "who's who" of the town, but none of them have very good taste in dining.
