Best Mexican food around. Love everything I try there! Waiters are all very friendly and the service is great and super fast. The cheese dip is a MUST. Great margaritas too! Love it!

Good food, great price, nice Mexican atmosphere. The food portions are good as well. I was happy to find this El Paso as the one in Washington, Pa closed. If you like Mexican food and don't want to break your wallet, try it. Also, food came out very fast.

I can't remember the name, but I ordered a burrito with beef, chicken, shrimp and pineapple. It was covered in a queso and green chili sauce, topped with fresh avocado. The dish was absolute delish! My only reason for dropping a star, was the fact that the restaurant was slow and still my water glass went empty on more than one occasion, and they never offered to refill my chips. I would definitely return but not on this trip.

Poor service food was horrible and service was there with food. On the first day went there and service was outstanding so we went back the following day and it was poor. Everyone had an attitude and the customer was not right. So I left them a $1.00 The Animal

I love this place! Friendly, attentive staff and great food. The bartenders aren't shy with the tequila in margaritas. Everything I've had here has been great, and service is always stellar; orders are accurate and delivered quickly.

Comida Mexicana autentico! The food was excelent especially for my palate having lived in socal and eaten all over Mexico. Finally, a Mexican place that serves chips and salsa with a little kick. Who wants the stuff that tastes like the generic stuff you buy from a grocery store. Guacamole also tasted like it was made in the restaurant. Furnishings were very traditional and service was excellent.

Stopped on the way to NY . Thanks Yelp for the glowing feedback and for directing us to this place in the middle of nowhere! The food was awesome! I don't remember everything that we ordered (chicken based dishes). It was fantastic!

I was suprised to find this resaurant out here in the sticks. ;) No seriously, none of the stores existed before Cabela's opened. Who woulda thunk... ;) In reality, the is a pretty good restaurant! The chips are better than I've had anywhere. And the salsa they serve with them is pretty decent too. And if you don't like it the way it comes, there are two bottles of taco sauce on the table that you can spice it up with. For my dinner, I had the basics; two beef burritos with sides of rice and beans. All were very good. If I had to pick a nit, it would be that the portion sizes were a little smaller than what I'm used to. But the folks were friendly and they had a fair number of honest-to-god Mexicans working which is more than I can say for a lot of other Mexican restaurants. A good meal!

Delicious fish tacos! The servers were very attentive and the service was fast, perfect for a lunch hour. The chips were warm and the salsa was good. Their pico de gallo was very tasty. I loaded it up on my tacos, delish!

Great service, tasty chips and adequate salsa (free so I can't complain...). Attentive waiters understand the need to keep glasses full and provide top level assistance. Diverse and durable menu. Good selection and reasonable portions. Prices are reasonable or a busy area. Recommend it.

This is the BEST Mexican food I have had in the Ohio/WV area since I have been here since Feb 2014. As I am from NY I know REAL authentic Mexican food. If I would just rate the Carnita dinner I had, would give it 5 stars, but as they do not have Horchata or Aqua de Jamaica settled for 4; but HIGH 4. The chips were fresh and crispy! The salsa picante! The carnitas were nice and juicy chunks(see photo) and lightly seasoned. The pico de gallo and sour cream were plenty . Didn't try the Flan as the waiter said it was custard style which I not like. As it was Monday the manager or owner were both off so unable to compliment them; all I can say to them is give your chef in the kitchen a raise and KEEP him; he/she knows how to cook authentic Mexican food that can compete with NY or LA. Can't wait to eat here again when back in the area! Problem now is what will I eat Wednesday when I leave the area? :(

My boyfriend and I was in the mood for authentic Mexican food and low and behold we found a place. Based on the reviews we assumed this place would be AWESOME..but it was an utter disappointment. Our food didn't have any taste and the plates were very sloppy. Not impressed however I loved the decor of the restaurant!

Decent Mexican, enjoyed the pork carnitas, plenty of food for the price. Free chips and salsa.

I read the rest of the reviews prior to posting this one. I may chalk this up as being in there on a bad night, the place was 2/3 crowded... Please before going on, read some of my other reviews, I believe I've only provided one other review that was negative. I'm a easy going diner who likes neighborhood joints. I realize I'm in Wheeling, so my expectations shouldn't be too high.... Just average. If they were average I would give them 4-5 stars just because of the geographical location. Nothing in this place is authentic. The salsa is bland and not at all spicy. I asked for the homemade hot stuff that EVERY other restaurant has in the back. They had to whip this up on the spot. It was truly horrendous. The chips were stale. The salsa was just bad. I ordered steak ranchero. WOW. How can you mess a steak? Well, it was a t bone smothered in the bland sauce. Well, it may have been a t bone, but I would've fed it to my dog. It was well, well, well done. and tasted completely OLD. I stomached it and go the heck out. The rice was 1/2 cooked. The beans 'paste' was a joke. Okay, let's get to the help. Utterly and completely unprofessional. The kitchen help is watching the game at the bar enjoying a soda. The guy who brought me the chips and salsa threw them on the table. Zero manners. My waiter.... Well, he clearly did not want to be there. At first I ordered a coke. The second drink was an Iced tea. HUH ! No, coke. He told me that I ordered an Iced tea. I looked at him like, really man? Then, they were yelling to each other across the restaurant to each when they needed something. (This is over the other patrons' heads) I was like, incredible... Then I watched my waiter seat a family of three.. he sauntered them through the restaurant then they went to the front far right table.. My man, stopped 3/4 there and handed the menus to the patron and turned his back. They didn't even make to the table. He would talk to other patrons and mid-stream turn his back... I was shocked. Hence the reason I stomached the piece of leather and got the heck out. Let me just say, there are a few other MUCH better Mexican restaurants that are DEFINITELY worth the extra 10 minute drive, even if it's just not to put up with the un-professionalism of the wait staff. The food is not good.

I have to admit, i wasnt looking forward to eating here, seeing the front of the building really didnt encourage me. How wrong could i be? The food here is amazing, some of the best mexican i've ever eaten. I know not how authentic it really is, but the portion size was just right, and the flavours were great. A real hit with me.

I took my son for a second time, and the restaurant did much better. We were seated, given chips and salsa and drink orders, all within around ten minutes. The food took some time to come out. The place was busy so I'll cut them some slack. The food was well prepared and came out blistering hot. I had one of the better chille relleno I've ever had! Generally, a much better experience.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
