the service isn't the greatest in the world but at least they're friendly and, more importantly, the food is really dang good. would definitely take some friends here for brunch.

We visited the Flying Pig on a Sunday morning while on a family vacation. We were a party of 11 so I understand we were a large group but the service was less than satisfactory. The food came out to different people at different times (some times 20-30 min apart). 3 of us received our meals, 20 min later 2 others, then a while later 1 plate came out, then one of our kids got their plate, it went on and on like this for an hour and 15 minuets until finally everyone had eaten but no one ate together. As a parent it is very frustrating for your kids to wait an hour to get their food while everyone else in your party is getting theirs. It's unfortunate that the service was so bad because the food was good. Everyone seemed to find their dishes under seasoned but all and all solid food. Great pancakes and ramp eggs were a hit. I hope the owners take note of this issue and work to resolve it. I don't fault the TWO women working there at the time. They did the best they could. Unfortunately for this place to succeed they need to make some improvements to the time it takes food to arrive and the coordination to get food out to the table at the same time. Good but disappointing.

Had an awesome, very delicious breakfast here. We got the pancakes which were some of the best pancakes I've had in a while, eggs cooked perfectly, and yummy bacon. We also had a "side" of biscuits and gravy because it was super cheap and we had just done a 4 mile hike. It was the only weak spot of the meal, I just thought it could be flavored a little better. Coffee was good and they kept it coming. Service was friendly, and it has a very cute ambience. And so cheap (did I say that already?). Highly recommended for a no frills, yummy breakfast.

Fast service, great food, reasonably priced, variety of menu options (vegetarian too). Three cheese quesadilla, Greek salad, eggs all were yum!

Great breakfast at a wonderful price. We had the blueberry pancakes made with fresh wild blueberries and a biscuit sandwich, both really good. Tried homemade dandelion jam--excellent! Perfect little spot on cute street with art galleries and lots to see and across the street from a branch of the Blackwater River.

I'm glad to hear this place is good. We just walked in at 10:30 AM on Labor Day Monday and got a cold, curt "we're closed" with no explanation. There was a restaurant full of people.

If you're in or near Thomas WV and you want a really good breakfast, this is the place to go! Their biscuits are to die for. My fella had an egg biscuit that was really awesome, eggs, peppers, cheese, chipotle, salsa, sour cream, all on a perfect scratch made biscuit. They also carry about 4-5 different hot sauces for you hot sauce lovers. I had eggs over medium, done perfectly, crispy bacon, and a biscuit. The coffee was pretty good too. I like my coffee on the strong side, and apparently Flying Pig does too. The prices are very reasonable, the service was very friendly. It was a perfect breakfast place on a chilly mountain morning.

I came here for breakfast and have no complaints! Service was cheerful and quick. The coffee was damn good and the food was pretty good. I recommend the Irish Chazz.

My biggest issue with this place was that the dishes were not clean. I received a cup of coffee and it looked as though they had just taken it from another table and handed it to me after someone drank from it. I also requested a bottle of tobasco sauce and received an old bottle with brown sauce in it. The chili was decent and the service was ok but I wouldn't visit here again unless they either exercise more care in cleaning the dishes or use paper and plastic ones.

I would have liked to give them 3.5 stars, but that option does not exist. Service was friendly. The place is old and somewhat dilapidated, but it has charm. My husband's chorizo burrito was very good! I had the scrambler with spinach and feta based on a review I read. It was disappointing (over cooked eggs, seemingly no salt or pepper, and so little feta that I could not taste it). I also had some biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were obviously made there and were good. The gravy was a bit on the bland side because, once again, no seasoning. Salt and pepper, folks. Just salt and pepper! This place has potential.

The food here is very good. I had the breakfast quesadilla and the biscuits and gravy. My wife had one of the scrambles. Both were very good and tasted like the ingredients were fresh. The place looks very run down, but don't let that scare you away. It's worth going in and having the food.

Went there for lunch. Great hummus, good salads and I loved my three cheese sandwich! Looks like a great hangout with music on many nights. Friendly staff too. Don't miss this!

Found this place a few years ago and were talking about it ever since, so when we came back to the area we just had to eat here again. He had what they called a Scrambler it had eggs, spinach, feta & fresh dill. I had their Reuben, which had to be one of the best reubens I have every had (I was informed that they corn their own beef). Will definitely be back.
