We stayed here over July 4th weekend. I grew up in Clay county, and I had never heard of this place, my whole life! So my husband found it on the web and made a reservation. (By phone) - We live in San Diego so this was a treat for us! We only stayed one night. We did have dinner. I brought my dad with us to dinner and my husband reserved my brother a room so he stayed too! We all had steak for dinner and they were Large steaks. She mentioned the cow came from ohio ! I loved that. Over all this place really excited me and my husband! I was really impressed with the room, the food, the service, and the grounds. I also must mention when eating breakfast we watched two deer graze I. The grass across the road! priceless! We also went boating that day on Sutton Lake which is so close! If your ever any where around this area stop by! You won't regret it ! food is five star! Just go for dinner!

You wont find better quality food in wv. They go out of their way to give an experience that includes a tasteful dining space, carefully prepared dishes with all local ingredients, and good service. Staying at the inn is nice but not essential.

The best fine dining I've found in central West Virginia.

OK. The food is undoubtedly good, as is the atmosphere, but I can make the same dishes at home for 1/3 the price. Never explored other aspects of the business (the bar or the bed and breakfast) but the food was good. Just overpriced. I'd eat there more often if it were less expensive.

I keep going back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. The inflation may well be warranted because you're in the middle of nowhere in Sutton, and this is clearly the stand out dining and lodging experience within at minimum 50 miles. If you go down even to Charleston there are better dining options, which I'll get to why I say that shortly. My main critique has to be the food. While it's good, the portions for the prices are tough to get past. Shrimp Scampi - $32 for four (4) shrimp. Sea Scallops - $30 for three (3) scallops. Even the picture of the scallops on their website menu has 4 pictured. The portions are very, very small for the price. I'm a pretty skinny guy, there's no way I should be leaving hungry after a $70+ meal before drinks. I would have liked to see double or double(-1) the amount of seafood in each dish at that price. The other warning I have for Cimino-goers is the rooms don't have central air. At least, mine didn't and I was in one of the more expensive suites. It had an in-wall unit that even on the low setting was blasting, and was unable to take care of the sticky humidity that both my wife and I felt during the night. Not the best sleep we've had. My wife called the experience "glamping" (glamorous camping) which I'd have to agree with. So all this isn't necessarily a critique, just something to be prepared for when you book. It'll be a little humid, you'll find a couple ants and flies in your room. It's glamping. So as not to overly dissuade you from booking, I will say the staff was excellent, greeting us with coffee the next morning and having been very attentive the night before was all in all a great part of the stay. The mixed drinks are hit or miss. Decent wine selection, I had a sip of my wife's pina colada which was well done. Definitely would not order an Old Fashioned, which comes with more fruit chunks and sugar than was ever meant to be put in that drink. The room prices I think are quite fair. While there's the air comfort issue I mentioned, you really can't beat ~$160/night for a well maintained B&B. They are working on an outdoor wood pizza oven which looks like it'll be an excellent addition to the place. They said it'll be done within a month of this review date. All in all I'll probably be back, if for no other reason than there are just few places in WV like this to retreat to with a group of family members. The problems I listed are not impossible to get over, and shouldn't trigger any anxiety for those heading off for a weekend getaway.

A true hidden gem in the heart of WVA. My family and I have been coming here for dinner for almost a decade. It's always delicious, beautiful, and perfect. I can't stop raving about the Chicken San Marino. It alone is worth the trip! Make a reservation, you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I stayed in the Maggie May, it had a private patio with a nice view of the Elk River and the room was very clean and comfortable. The food is out of this world and everyone there is super friendly. The breakfast for the guest's the next morning couldn't be better. Enjoyed it out on the front verandah. The bar on the Elk is excellent and thew main house has a lot of character. We will definitely be back.

Cafe Cimino is a wonderful place. The service is amazing and they are always exceeding your expectations. Dinner and breakfast is excellent. This B&B stands above the rest. I can't wait to go back.

Ok full disclosure. I am a wv girl. But I've lived in California longer 28 vs 26 years, the last three years we have gone to gSaqaynwithnourndadnformhusnhih school reunion Tonight my sister and I went here for dinner while my dad ate out with high school buddies. At 85 years old 'vwry impressive. We ate at Cimino in sutton . Being from San Francisco and having traveled extensively - and by extensively I mean every continent most 2-5 times -I'm a bit of a snob. Certainly by Sutton West Virginia standards. I will give a f ull report as that is what is expected. The five stars will reveal the ending. We arrived without reservation but our hotel told us 8::30 would be fine. We went to the bar and and were offered a taste of wine. We opted for a California Pinot. It was very good and we took the bottle. We went up to dinner - no rushing which was great. We had the caprese and Caesar salad and the lamb shank and tuna. All were exquisite. Had to ask for balsamic vinegar for the caprese unfortunately but other than that everything was perfectly served. As a foodie and amateur chef who appreciates good food and talent I was thrilled to be invited to the kitchen. I am veryb mpressed with Eli and the entire staff. We are after all in sutton, West Virginia. amazing!! Eat here!! Stay there!!! Enjoy. They have generously donated to,the auction at St Francis hospital in charleston. They employ locals. Great place to support Save the airline ticket this is the best food. Just a drive away!!! Enjoy!!! Love love this place!!!

We visited for the 4th time in 5 years recently. The veal chop and rosemary mashed were to die for, as was the banana split desert. The owners, Chef Tim and Melody Urbanic, and son and chef Eli and all of the staff make you feel right at home. For those on a budget, visit the lower level bar for appetizers/tappas. We are big fans of Cafe Cimino. P.S. Re: the other reviewer regarding being pricey. You get what you pay for. The veal chop we split was huge and the quality was firs-rate. I think the pricing was more than fair for the upkeep of this historic B &B and culinary dining experience. I also splurged on a hot stone massage and Sherry was worth every penny. You've never had a massage until you've had a hot stone massage.

After spending the day on Lake Sutton with 2 other couples, we arrived at this lovely bed and breakfast. The view on the Elk River is nice. Our luggage was carried in and we were shown to our beautiful rooms in the main house. Dinner was wonderful with several little extras from the chef. We had several different meal choices and everyone raved about what they had. The tiella casserole was outstanding. Shaun was such fun and met our every need. After dinner we sat on the huge wrap- around porch and enjoyed being outdoors. After a restful night, breakfast thrilled us with fruit, juice, frittata, polenta cakes, muffins and scones. No one leaves here hungry! Tim and Melody Urbanic, the owners, are delightful and made us feel so welcomed. We will definitely go back here again when we want to get away for good food and rest.

Had a wonderful dinner with great friends. The filet was tender and cooked perfectly. The appetizer platter allowed little samplings of many specialties. Very enjoyable and highly recommended.

On Sunday, October 30, 2011, my wife and lodged at the Café Cimino Country Inn. We were returning home from the Washington, D.C., area and diverted there because we were intrigued by the uniqueness of this establishment. In addition to being a bed & breakfast, this facility includes a professional restaurant that is open to the public as well as its guests and features Italian cuisine. The restaurant is closed on Sundays, but the host and head chef Tim prepares dinners on that day exclusively for his lodgers. We had a very good dinner served by our hostess Melody, who is Tim's wife, which started with large antipasti that included a caprese salad, a variety cheeses, Italian ham, peppers, and olives. For our entrées my wife had the stuffed chicken breast and I had the trout. Our meal was accompanied by an excellent Chardonnay. The house is old but well restored, charming, and beautifully decorated. Our room was very clean and comfortable. For breakfast we were each served fresh fruits, a quiche, a fried polenta triangle, and scones. All of it was very delicious, and we are still talking about the scones! Tim and Melody were very friendly, gracious and accommodating. They were great hosts who have very interesting backgrounds that they shared with us. We had a wonderful time, so check it out even if you have to drive out of your way to get there.

We stayed at this bed and breakfast the last night of our honeymoon and we could not have asked for a sweeter ending! The atmosphere is amazing. Elegant, classy remodeled Victorian home with an AMAZING menu! Completely unbelievable food! Attentive and friendly staff. We saw the owners several times throughout our stay, they were also very accommodating, kind and involved in all aspects of their business. A beautiful bar is in the back of the home with a patio over looking a nearby river. The rooms were just as beautiful! We are already planning our next visit there as soon as possible. This is definitely a hidden jewel of Sutton, WV

I've only been to dinner here twice but both times were memorable - the food is wonderful and the service is excellent. The building in which they're located provides a great setting and they have several outdoor areas (I want to get back during warm weather to sit outside and enjoy the view).
