Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Typical mexican fare. Wasn't impressed or disappointed. Chips and salsa are good, on par with Gran Ranchero and better than El Mariachi's... The menu is almost identical to Gran Ranchero. Skip if you're looking to watch sports. They have 3 large TVs (two in the dining area, but on one wall so only half your table can watch... and one in the bar) which are nice, but they aren't in HD, which leaves alot to be desired.

Love this place! It's the best Mexican restaurant in this area by far!!

Food was delish, and the restaurant itself was decorated very nicely. Our server checked on us regularly, but seemed a bit distracted.

This is a wonderful place! My boyfriend and I come all the time and we both always enjoy it! The service is fast and friendly. Much better than the other Mexican restaurants in parkersburg! Highly recommend giving it a try if you haven't!

I don't understand the positive reviews. We've been here twice and both times were disappointed. Everything tasted bland and alike. They apparently use the same sauce on everything and just throw cheese on top. It tasted days old and the texture sighed that it was microwaved. I wouldn't classify ourselves as a "picky" eaters but my wife couldn't finish her food. If you are looking for microwave Mexican this may be a great choice for you!

Pretty standard Americanized Mexican food. I was hoping for horchata but no such luck. I had the taco salad which was more than enough food for me - steak, beans, tomatoes, lettuce, fajita veggies, and a little too much sour cream though. They've got plenty of combination plates to choose from! I need to come back and take a picture with the donkey statue.

Food was excellent! I got the chilaquiles con carne asada and it was delish! The lady got the Texas fajita and I don't know if they were good or not, she wouldn't let me taste it! The best part of the meal was when the special surprise guest arrived! It was Jake from the Yelp reviews! Jake from the Yelp reviews is always so professional and friendly. I have truly never seen a man better at his craft. The chips that he placed in the bowl were as excellent as ever. I don't want to live in a world without Jake from the Yelp reviews preparing chips.

I used to go here often. I have always liked the food very much. My issue with this place is that the management is rude. So, I stopped going there for that reason. The reason I gave them 3 stars instead of just one is , because the food is good. The cheese sauce is by far the best in the area. The restaurant in very, very clean. And, you get your meal pretty quickly, and it is always hot, and fresh.

The pros: Very large portions at low prices, very friendly and attentive service. The cons: Not a lot of flavor. I waffled between 3 and 4 stars, but it's not bad food, just doesn't taste truly authentic. They came by with a salsa pitcher when I was halfway through my stale chips before the meal. I think that sentence about sums it up.

Pretty good for this area I think. Love the chips and salsa!

Coming from Los Angeles, I have to say Los Agaves serves the blandest Mexican food I've ever eaten. The only exception was their chips and salsa, which all tasted very good. Hardly anything tastes fresh though. Tortillas, beans and just about everything else on the menu is so mediocre. Service is friendly, but the whole place is way below average to recommend.

My family has eaten here on quite a few occasions. They have an extensive menu, and the waiters are always attentive and courteous. The food is nothing spectacular but perfectly acceptable. One drawback is that the building is cavernous and gets quite echoey when there are a lot of people there. But if you get there early and beat the crowd, it's not bad.

Good food at a good price. I've had a hard time finding a restaurant in Baltimore that provides the quality of Mexican this one does, and the price allows several visits a week.
