I have no idea why this place is reviewed so poorly. The food is good, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant and the prices are very reasonable. I've been here multiple times and have had specials and the buffet. The American comfort food buffet is great. Meat loaf, mashed red potatoes, green beans, ahi tuna, salad, wraps, cookies and more. But that's all I can remember. Absolutely worth the 12 bucks. Most recently I had a lunch special consisting of salad or soup, BBQ pork sandwich on an onion roll, cole slaw, chips and an ice cream/chocolate cake dessert. All for 12 bucks including my drink. Everything was great. I'm planning an event there in their private room and though it hasn't happened yet the staff have been really helpful in setting it up. They answer all of my inane questions and have been very accommodating to make the event special. My only gripe is the parking situation, but that's more of a hotel issue. Long story short, the rating doesn't do this place justice. Try it and I think you'll agree.

Hotel bars are usually expensive and frozen meal tasting. This place is decent on both accounts. I ordered a chicken salad. The chicken was a little dry but it was good. Also ordered a side of streamed veggies which were sooo good but that's because they smothered them in butter. The salad came with fries which I thought was odd. Friendly service.

We ate here while staying at the hotel many times. The food was great, the staff nice, and the decor also looked nice.

Ended up eating here because the other places we tried didn't have any parking and it looked like it might be good. I ordered a Jack Daniels New York Strip, with risotto, salad and carrots. The carrots and salad were really good. The risotto was ok though flavored strangely and the steak was just bad. I've never had to trim so much junk off of a NY strip before and it honestly seemed like a cheap cut of meat. I would say it was just bad luck for me but 4 other people at the table ordered the same thing and all of theirs was questionable as well. Also, it shouldn't take nearly an hour to get your salad when you don't even order any appetizers. Not impressed with the food or the service here.

One star only for the view and outside deck setting. Food described on the menu was NOT the food brought to the table. Questioned the waitress and the manager came over and gave some excuses. The portions were very small and the prices were high. And it was apparent that the sweet little waitress had not been trained properly in food service. Don't waste your time or money.

We were one of the 2 tables of 4-6 noted in another review on June 2nd that got up and left after waiting 40 minutes and could not get more than 1 cup of soup. (Arrived 11:50AM and gave up at 12:30PM.) After asking the woman at the reception desk what was happening to our waitress who went MIA, she also never came out of the kitchen and the "manager" was no where to be found. Also stopped at the hotel reception on the way out and asked if they had anything to do with the management of the restaurant, and I received a sheepish response as to why would I ask... Aka we we are not interested in your problem. Dine at your own risk.

slooooowwwwwww service... the prices on the breakfast menu looked reasonable went for the easy hotel breakfast because there is no good diner in morgantown. breakfast ended at 11:00 a.m. we ordered at 10:50 a.m. and the server wasnt sure we could get breakfast still...???... maybe they were on bar time... how about "whatever you would like patron of the restaurant"... by the time she returned it was after 11am and we told her to forget it. most of us opted for the $12 buffet. it was the same breakfast that the quality inn and other hotels puts out complimentary for staying at their jaun. with one exception: bonus omelette station - that was left unmanned for at least five minutes while i stood and waited. two people in the party ordered salads. maybe they were harvesting the lettuce and picking the vegetables off a vine out back but without hyperbole the salads took 15-20 minutes. the waitress was invisible most of the time. only came once to refill drinks. i cant recommend anyone go here. there's a cracker barrell, bob evans and ihop across town. try that.

Yuk. Both for the service and the food. I will give one star for the effort on the decor. We received a gift certificate to eat here last summer (2010) before going to a show. We were treated rudely and the food had that odd 'frozen, then nuked' flavor. Even though it was convienient, and basically free I wished we had eaten elsewhere.

This place has the potential to be the nicest place to dine in Morgantown. Tonight they failed. I hope the management reads this as I really want this to be a place for me to come to as I will be spending quite a bit of time in Morgantown over the next 4 years. Lets start with the table setting. On the table are bread dishes with butter knives. The server never offered to bring out the bread. I finally asked and he starts into this BS about how the had changed their policy, ya-da, ya-da, ya-da. I could care less about your policy, just bring me the damn bread! I ordered the strip which was served with creamed spinach and potato wedges. The spinach was served colder than room temperature - creamed spinach is a hot/warm dish, certainly not cold. I asked and the waiter wanted to once again discuss how creamed spinach should be served (IE. he said that if the creamed spinach was hot, it would be runny). Hey fella, I am not here to correct your chefs mistakes on how a dish should be served and how to plate your food. My son ordered the strip steak and he trimmed so much fat that we kept asking him did he get enough because he also had cold creamed spinach that he did not eat. Meal was 28.00. Then the one thing happened that just kills me. The waiter never offered to refill my wife's drink. Bad move. Then we asked the manager to bring my wife a coffee. When she came out she did not even have enough in the pot to fill a single cup and it was luke warm. Come on folks, get your act together. Your restaurant was not that busy and here we are on move in weekend for WVU - a chance for you to shine and attract new customers. I did politely discuss this with the manager and she took my room number. Hopefully our disappointment will be recognized by the management.

Right in the Waterfront Place Hotel. Good food, reasonable prices, and a great Sunday buffet.
